  1. Need some reviews from bros here who have used/are using Falken's Ziex-326 tyres. I just changed my front tyres to the 326s as my previous pair was already showing bits of carcass on the insides(wheel-well side). Please comment on the tyre performance after initial scrubbing in, so that I have an idea on what to expect. My initial impressions on the tyre upon installation were that in comparison to my previous Simex (Malaysian made, very hard rubber compound, almost NIL wet-grip), the wet-grip of the 326s doesn't seem at all impressive. Still managed to easily do wheelspins on a slightly wet surface. Of course, this is before the tyres have been properly scrubbed in. On the highway in light rain at 100km/h, aquaplaning was almost non-existent even in bigger pools of water. Just a hint of planing when hitting those big pools that span almost 50 metres long. In the dry, grip seemed to be worse than the Simex tyres. Surprisingly, really, given the softer compound of the 326s. But I must note that the sidewall is not as stiff, and AGAIN, the tyres have yet to be bedded in. I must clarify, however, that I am in no way looking at the Falkens as a set of performance tyres. Far from it. All I want is a set of tyres that are relatively lasting, with reasonable wet-weather performance. Of course, with predictable handling characteristics so that I don't get caught off-guard. Road noise is of no issue to me. So, your valuable feedback will help me decide whether to keep these tyres & purchase a matching set for the rears, or to junk them & go for another set instead. Before anyone starts suggesting Firenza, Yoko Aspect DB etc, please note that my tyre size is not of a common one. It's 165/55/R14. Not many stores carry this size, not to mention even less major manufacturers produce this size. Thanks a million in advance!

  12. Hi guys, Is there any websites that gives reviews on Kenwood KRC 489? I tried searching but can't find any.... Also, why my kenwood front speakers' tweeters look so funny. They are aluminium but not dome shaped. More like cup shaped. Did Kenwood install the dome tweeter upside down? Or this is the cheapest 6" speaker? Unfortunately I couldn't find any pic on kenwood website to show you guys. Also didn't take a photo of it....
  13. I have owned MAtrix for 1 month liao, done 2100km. Here are my comments: Merits: 1. Spacious. 2. Very practical interior. 3. Interial assembly quality much better than our national car. 4. Handling - i considered quite impressive in cornering. So far, not encounter any understeer at 50km cornering. Proton Satria / PV6 will have understeer + body roll at this speed (my other 2 cars). But for matrix, it took it quite easily with certain space for spare. 5. The high speed stability is good due to the weight. 6. European ride feeling. Solid + firm. Drawbacks: 1. The ride might be a little bumpy if compare to sedan. I being told that this is normal cause MPV gravity is higher, the suspension is tuned firmer than sedan to maintain the stability. I m still adjusting myself to it. 2. I heard / may be should said feel some kicking when cross over certain bump / uneven surface. Not sure. Donno may be i still yet to familiar to such european ride feeling. Out with my boss in his new E200 Kompressor 2 days ago, heard the same weide sound when over bump. ???? Why?? Anyone know why even E200 Kompressor have the same kicking feel over bump. Summary: I should said that NO REGRET getting this baby. It's practical, value for money, quite good assembly quality (try cruise the Jalan Maarof, Bangsar at 60km you will know what i mean (Proton shaking like into thousand pieces), but Matrix at 60km handle pretty well - interior are solid, car maintaing straight line over uneven surface at Jalan Maarof, Bangsar. Go for it. my friend.
