  1. Just to check does anyone has any idea when Defi oil pressure dip down and show red alarm during idling? It will dip up and down, sometime it will just hold on.
  2. Assume you are hunting next car, budget only enough for Jap/Kor mid-range categroy, Look at Honda in Singapore market, will you choice? Accord, Civic, CRV all MIT, but price ridiculous high, CTR, City, Jazz, Stream disappeared from market, Civic only 1.6L AT available, no MT, no 1.8 & 2.0 version, only 2 airbags, no traction control All model engines without TC, DGI etc new tech, still stick on outdated Vtec obviously Honda technology is far behind its compitetor like Toyota, Hyundai, Kia etc, but price still is premium, if Honda still runs its business in this strategery, soon or late previous glorious honda will be same as Mitsubishi and Suzuki in Singapore.
  3. http://site.dragtag.com.au/index.php Drag Tag - virtual drag racing with your own car Posted Jul 28th 2006 12:55PM by John Neff Filed under: Motorsports, Tuner Tuesdays, Etc. Drag Tag is an indoor facility in Australia where you can virtually drag race your own car using a patented dyno, hold-down, steering and visualization simulator. Design, developed and operated in Australia, Drag Tag uses its own specially-designed hold-down system to keep your car strapped on the dyno during WOT. Laser sensors are used to monitor the angle of the front wheels and gather steering data, while three massive 4.5-meter screens provide over a 200-degree of various simulated race environments. The Drag Tag website points out the obvious benefits it has to offer over actual racing, which include a complete disregard for the weather outside, shorter lines, no helmets or race suits required and really fast cars don't need any expensive safety equipment like a roll cage. In order to join the fun, one must first purchase a membership to Drag Tag that include installation of the special hold-down brackets, after which nightly racing can cost anywhere from AUS $10 to $50 for an evening of digital automotive mayhem. While there's no replacement for the experience of a real Christmas Tree going green and dropping the hammer, the idea of driving your own car in a video game is strangely appealing. ----------- they should bring this to singapore!
  4. any bros here doing that? like placing ads, do errand runs, etc? just curious.
  5. Something like this: MG42 not included of course. hehe I may be able to get one of these at very good price but not sure if can registered and ride in Singapore...
  6. Drove up CH about three years back and took the so-called new route. Quite scary as what the writer described of vehicles overtaking on the steep slopes against on-coming traffic on the opposite lane. The drive there itself was already very tiring for us and coupled with heart-stopping moments of fully-loaded trucks and buses coming your way from the opposite lane was no joke... From ST Forum: http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Online...ory_777229.html Horror ride down Cameron Highlands Published on Mar 14, 2012 I AM writing in to share my family's recent harrowing experience while returning on a Five Stars Tours coach from Cameron Highlands to Singapore. On the descent from Cameron Highlands, the driver negotiated the mountain bends at high speed, causing the coach to tilt as it lurched left and right. Ahead of a mountain bend, he overtook a vehicle in front despite oncoming traffic. Alarmed, I appealed to him to drive more carefully, but he replied that he was behind schedule. I appealed to the relief driver sitting in a passenger seat behind him to advise his colleague to drive more carefully. To my horror, the driver turned around to stare at us, taking his eyes off the road while the bus was speeding down the mountain. I shouted at him to keep his eyes on the road, but he continued staring at me for a few seconds before he stepped on the brakes and told me to take over if I was dissatisfied. I telephoned the Singapore head office of Five Stars Tours to relate the incident, and it arranged for the relief driver to take over until we reached an interchange location where a transfer of coach was arranged. 8. Hi Everyone, Just sharing with ppl here for a chance to own an affordable car. I have a 8.5 year old Skoda Octavia that I am planning to send for Deregistration on 13 June. It's a good car that's got 1 year 7 months left of COE and only done 96,000 km on the ODO. Great starter car for any young adult or Student that needs to tavel the long distance daily to Poly or Uni. Take it at Market Scrap Value+ and you will have a workhorse at $4K depreciation per annum. You get back $11,600+ at the end of 1.7 years. Newer cars today are going at 6-8K depreciation. It's a waste for me to send her off to the Big Garage in the Sky. Hence this post. Interested parties can sms me for details at (9836)(6488) Cheers ! 9. Iron Man is the heroic movie character played by Tony Stark - a selfish and arrogant character who's always proud of himself, yes, quite ironic, indeed - in the Iron Man movie series. However, it seems that Tony Stark isn't the only person dreaming of becoming the Iron Man. You can see that in the images we come across on the World Wide Web. There's a diverse range of motorbikes that their owners convert such that they look like a ride especially designed for the hero who gained his popularity from the comic series. What's unique is that while some of the motorbikes are as fierce as the Kawasaki ZX-14R, there're also scooters which aren't likely, if at all, to become a ride for the Iron Man. However, though, it's the right of every single person out there to convert their ride to look as if it belongs to the superhero. So, have a look for yourself. Oh, by the way, there're also concept designs by Wang Buffon for the superhero's ride if you like.
  10. Hi all, I am staying in west cck area and work in the east at expo changi area. I gain quite abit of weight these past few years of course bcos of good foods and alway drive in the car no matter where I go even to market which is only 800m away. I had been thinking to buy a bicycle to ride to work instead of driving ... so to save cost as well as to lose some weight and keep fit.... but I worry to few things What are the best route to take to go from cck to changi expo? How to reduce the risk involve and reduce the nuisance caused to other road users? I'm a driver too and I do realise how dangerous it will be to ride on road....manyway I could avoid the road but still can reach changi??
  11. Anyone caught the first episode of Pimp My Ride Malaysia on MTV last week??? Proton became Protonvolution. 2nd episode, tonight on MTV, Starhub Ch533.
  12. Hi all, lately notice my car ride is getting bumpy too much for my liking. My front bumper is mod lower than normal stock, other than that, it seems to be getting annoyingly bumpy each passing day. What could be the problem? Shock absorbers, tyres, or even wheel alignment/balancing? Just want to find out what could be the possible cause(s) before i decide to send it to a workshop (i don't have a trusted one yet) to avoid getting chopped. Lots of potholes on our roads today, especially the expressways
  13. as above, anyone mind sharing their bikes here ??
  14. here goes...sorry for the poor lighting!!! sold my GTi to make way for this...so far i've been enjoying the ride alot... shes old...but i can dare to say its one of if not the best condition EFs around in singapore...as its accident free
  15. This video is useful for people who like modifying their cars with the most ridiculous mods. It's is also useful for WRX and EVO wannabes who prefer not to upgrade their drum brakes but decide to make their average impreza TS or lancer look like a WRX or an EVO.
  16. Saw quite a few saying they make money...but until now I still don't believe...went to a AD early this week...I thought if really can fetch more money...I don't mind selling current two cars off and just live with one new car...since selling away both cars and getting back one new may be able to help offset the rocketing COE...so I ask the SE...He say used car price same same...not much change from last time...because they cater for different needs...if someone need to pay so much for a used car with low COE...they might as well buy a new car...well...what he say is what I thought too...and no reason that he will lie to me...because then he lost a customer...in fact he should tell me old car fetch good price and encourage me to change... is the myth busted...or the salesman is new on the job !!! [confused]

More bumper LCD tvs, but I wonder how passengers are going to get in... 7 in the boot alone, one more on the boot lid ... well I suppose you could steer the car with the TV I want to give the electrician who managed to wire the probably kilometres' worth of wires a Tiger just for getting it all to work without getting tangled up
  20. hi guys, want to relate an incident. went to c&c to check on the latest e class. since i use a gs300, i asked the saleman for something similar in power. he said that a e300 would come closest. i tested the car along leng kee rd at about 60km/hr. then he suggested that he takeover and he wanted to show me how powerful the car is. in my horror, he drove it at 120-130km/hr along leng kee road just outside sm motors and then braked hard to come to a stop at the traffic light. I prayed to god and said i never wanted to test a benz again.

  24. Public transport in Singapore: Ride bicycle is faster. According to 'Average cycling speed' road-bike.co.uk [link]: "Average cycling speed - indications... some general guidelines, all for solo riders on general 'mixed' terrain (ie rolling hills about 30% of the time, and pretty flat the rest of the time): Beginner, short distance (say 10-15 miles): average speed 12 mph. Most cyclists can achieve 10-12 mph (16.09 - 19.31kph) average very quickly with limited training. ..." The TODAY news report (appended bottom): "Minister of State for Transport Josephine Teo revealed ... bus speeds have gone down from 19.1kmh in 2007 to 17.8kmh...." Given that a "more experienced" cyclist can maintain an average speed of 25kph over a "short-medium distance of 20-30miles" (32 - 48km), and that cycling is a healthy sport, not just physically but also environmentally, (in so far that protection is worn and rules are obeyed), the current situation of slow bus timings, snail paced traffic, single occupant cars etc, it would probably be time, I think for a major public transport revamp/ re-think in the making. ========== Bus hubs currently the priority and good progress made: Josephine Teo 04:45 AM Jan 18, 2012 by Sumita Sreedharan SINGAPORE - Bus speeds have decreased slightly because of an increase in ridership, Minister of State for Transport Josephine Teo revealed in Parliament yesterday. Responding to Chua Chu Kang GRC MP Alex Yam, who had asked about the progress in improving bus speeds, Mrs Teo said bus speeds have gone down from 19.1kmh in 2007 to 17.8kmh, as ridership went up from 2.9 million per day to 3.45 million per day in the same time. "As more buses are introduced to cater to this increase, this would have caused buses to wait a longer time at bus stops to accommodate increased passenger boarding and alighting activities," explained Mrs Teo. To address this, the Land Transport Authority had announced recently that 35 bus stops would be expanded into bus hubs by the end of next year, allowing more buses to berth at bus bays for simultaneous boarding and alighting. This would reduce the average time each bus spends at bus stops, improving speeds and the journey times for commuters. Pressed by Mr Yam to elaborate on the schemes under study by the ministry, Mrs Teo said the 35 bus hubs are currently the priority project and "good progress" has been made. Mr Yam also suggested that longer, wider trunk roads be installed across the central median to reduce the incidence of left-turning vehicles blocking the buses that are going straight. Mrs Teo said this would be considered. Nee Soon GRC MP Lee Bee Wah brought up the issue of bus drivers' unfamiliarity with bus routes, asking if measures have been taken to address this. Mrs Teo attributed the problem to "occasions where there are services that need to be improved very quickly", and buses need to be pumped in; hence drivers are deployed on unfamiliar routes. Having more bus drivers trained across different routes would help but this would take time to implement as operators would need to pull drivers from their regular services for training, she said. Nonetheless, she stressed that the issue is being "taken seriously" and the bus system must become "more flexible" and "more responsive" to the need for bus services.
