  4. Anyone have those flyer for supplying store room shelve for HDB flat. I need the telephone number contact...thanks in advance.
  5. I was watching the Channel 8 news, showing the predicaments of some old folks staying in 1-room HDB flats. I was shocked to hear that the HDB people have sealed (with cement) the ventilation holes of the units along the corridor. I used to stay in a 1-room HDB flat when I was a small kid. With the ventilation holes along the corridor, it was already very stuffy. I can't imagine having these ventilation holes completely sealed. When it rains, the windows in the unit need to be closed and there will be no ventilation. It is as good as staying in a store-room. The poor folks staying in the 1-room flat can't afford the additional electricity for fans, not to mention air-conditioner. The old folks had grouped together to petition for the removal of these cement seal. But the spokesman replied that they have decided to seal these ventilation holes because there have been one case of fire spread from one unit to the other, through these holes. Their petition was not accepted. Poor folks. I hope the person who insisted on this implementation could spend a night in these units to understand the predicaments faced.
  6. In Ch8 9pm show 一房半厅一水缸, who is the lady who played the role of Aloysious's mum, kopi Soh's daughter, 陈泰铭's younger sister?
  7. Hi guys, got my new flat a couple of days ago. Thinking of installing air-con in all 3 bedrooms and living room. Tough choice choosing between invertor and 'normal'air-con'. Am well aware that invertor saves quite abit on the bills. However got feedback from friend that if i go not turn on the air-con regularly, not much difference. My household only wifey and me... most likely on master bedroom air-com at night only. Day time not a single soul around. So based on you guys' experience... invertor or non-invertor? Advice is much appreciated! cheers!
  8. Upcoming condo equipped with garage in the sky PARKING the car is set to reach a whole new level - with a high-rise condominium where every apartment comes with its own private garage in the sky. The Hamilton, coming up at 37 Scotts Road on the former site of Hotel Asia, will make this fantasy come true. Residents of the 30-storey tower will be able to drive their vehicle into a special glass elevator that will lift the vehicle from the ground floor to their 'porch' on the same level as their living rooms. The 56-unit development has not been launched yet. But when built, it will become the first residential high-rise in Singapore, and only the third in the world after developments in New York and Dubai, to have this vroom-with-a-view parking feature. Ms Leny Suparman, director of developer Hayden Properties, said the feature offers 'a unique way of living in a condominium yet with the advantages of a landed property'. Motorists here have already become familiar with high-tech 'stack' parking, though it is not quite the seamless elevator ride The Hamilton promises. At the Chinatown nightlife hub Club Street, the first fully mechanised public carpark was launched last month. And MacDonald House in Orchard Road has had an elevator take vehicles to its carpark on the second and third levels after its refurbishment in June 2005. Owning a unit at The Hamilton, complete with its own private parking bay, will not come cheap. Hayden Properties is unable to give any price indication for its units - averaging 3,000 sq ft in size. But according to the Urban Redevelopment Authority's website, apartments in the vicinity have been going for around $4,000 per sq ft. At The Hamilton, that could work out to about $12 million a unit. In land-scarce Singapore, mechanised parking systems may seem the way to go, taking up less space than conventional parking lots. Read the full report in Monday's edition of The Straits Times.
  9. Hello Everyone I'm intending to hold a surprise birthday party for my gf who will be turning 21 soon. Would appreciate if anyone could give me some recommendations on where should i hold it. My budget is about 1k and would be inviting 40-50 guests. Do not really like the idea of holding it in a condo function room although it is cheaper. SUGGESTIONS NEEDED! Thanks!!

  13. Can someone please tell me how leg room is measured? I went to the Hyundai Website and it said that Atos has a front legroom of 970mm and rear 880mm. But the fact is that there isn't so much legroom cos if it were true it would be more spacious than in an airplane. So how do they measure it?
