Just got my new ride yesterday. Noob to detailing, just used the Wash and Wax solution previously and waxed once or twice. I'm not detailing mad so my requirements are something simple without too much fuss Don't need very high standard also. After doing some basic reading of car washing and detailing, think the correct procedure is to wash, polish and then use a sealant. My car is greyish silver in color. Any recommendations for brands of wash, polish and sealant that i can get from Carrefour (going there tomorrow)? Is claybar recommended for a new car? Thanks for any replies in advance!

Just tried out this sealant on 2 of my cars. The Wolfgang series had rather good reviews over in the States. Here's a short FR: Extremely easy to apply and buff off. The touch is fabulous, smooth/slick and produces a nice wet glow, much like a carnauba. Beading isn't fantastic like Collinite or DuraGloss's range and definitely doesn't seem to last as long as either. Had 2 coats on my dad's E200 and the slickness was gone after 4-5 washes including recent downpours. Nuff said, lemme post some pictures [inline 01.jpg] [inline 02.jpg] [inline 03.jpg]

Hi all gurus, Need some recommendations on a new car in terms of the TOUGHEST sealant. No need to have the best shine but need to be tough enough to prevent water spots and yet easy to apply. Did a search on sealant but mainly on the best shine. Reason being I will not have much time to clean it (once a week). Currently using HiGlaze 88, old skool but can last a week or two before no more water beading. To add on, it is a very good cleaner on tough spot as well. Other than this, have not try other sealants and thus asking for assistance here, preferbly, brand, price and where to buy. Thank you all in advance Cheers

Cost US$92 to ship from USA, will you try this new product? Ultima Paint Guard Plus, it claimed just wipe on walk away no need to do any buffing. It is true ? Yes it is. My ride is only 1 month old with only 2500km only. It had one layer of Klasse Twin, 1 layer of 476, 2 layers of 845 and 1 layer of FK1000P. Before I apply UPGP I just give my ride a good wash then using the wash solution as clay lub to clay only the roof top & bonnet. After fully dry (it's important must dry dry dry), I just wipe on the UPGP with a MF applicator. You can see the UPGP dry up almost immediately and it already feel so glossy & slick. After setting for overnight, it really glossy and super slick. Can't wait to apply the 2nd layer just after 30 hours. Here is the result:

I was tasked to snap a few photo with my CMI camera skill. Ride belongs to HolyAvartar. Based on my understanding, he used PBA and Sealant during the MDDS. In Order not to take up too much bandwidth, I reduced the photo to less than 100kb each. [inline P1060689.JPG] [inline P1060691.JPG] [inline P1060694.JPG] [inline P1060698.JPG] [inline P1060704.JPG]

it's been 3 weeks. Almost everyday i dump a fresh layer of sealant... average 1 week 5 layers. so 3 weeks should be 15 +/- layers. Well, it's clean and abit wet looking, but the shine like cannot reach another new high. What should I do ? dump wax ? or my perparation is not good enough ? Can I apply another brand of sealant on it ? Is there a way to make the shine more deep like chrome effect ? More Sealant or start waxing ?

Applied 2 coats of M21 and after 2 weeks, with all the rain that we are getting, the rain is still beading on the car surface. Impressive! Any other brudders out there using this stuff?

My friend about to get his new car soon and being budget conscious, decided to protect the paintwork himself rather than send it to places like Toughseal etc... Please recommend some brands of sealant to protect the new paintwork and any other accessories needed....or is it too much work? My knowledge on detailing only extend to the brand 'Auric' (something like that) which I saw eons ago on those TV adverts that ran 24 hrs Kum sia might be useful info to me also when I get a new car...

This Honda Civic came looking rather neglected with plenty of scratches and swirls. On the bonnet especially, there was immediate and apparent difference in shine and gloss between the before and after polish areas. However, the paintwork seems slightly easier to work with compared to the Euro R I did a while back, although the "signature" softness of the paint did gave me some grieve while working on it Did 3 changes to my usual routine: I added some Clearkote's RMG to the PO85RD during the polishing stage, before my usual EZ-creme glaze afterwards. Also, the Ez-creme glaze is applied with DA instead of by hand and that seems to make the black paint even richer and wetter. Factory sealant was also used instead of M-seal as my trials with it showed that it seems to have a warmer glow to it. So here goes: The process: 1) Wash n Clay 2) DA with Orange LC pad and IP 3) DA with White LC pad and PO85RD and RMG 4) Wash 5) DA with Grey LC pad and Ez creme glaze 6) 2x Factory Sealant by hand A quarter of the bonnet on the right is the polished area while the rest is after washing and claybar. Close up look on the scratches on the bonnet and after results: Other scratches and swirls:

Purchased the following Soft99 synthetic wax from Concorde (discount cos no cover, paid &14 instead of $22) and tried it on my car today. http://www.soft99.co.jp/en/products/detail/4/390 . Shines and smells like EGP but in wax form. As I await to see the durability of this product, does anyone have any experience with synthetic wax? How does it differ from a synthetic sealant? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi guys, Need some advise here. Currently am using AIO to clean my paint surface. Looking for a suitable synthetic sealant to apply after AIO. Need some recommendations. Criteria: 1) Ease of application 2) Ability to hide paint imperfections i.e. swirl marks, water marks, etc. 3) Shine 4) Durability 5) By hand application Not too keen to go on the AIO, SG route coz i came to know from some users that Klasse SG tend to 'bring up' paint imperfections instead of hiding or filling/sealing them. Any recommendations?

Hello Pals I have learnt much more in MCF forum than any other sites on Detailing. I must thank all bros and sis for kind sharing. Here I want to share my experience with both kinds of Coats after the layer of Polish; ie Wax vs Sealant Whenever I apply my sealant - currently using Soft99 Fusso 12mths paste for Dark cars, there is frequent appearance of 'streaks' or 'patches' Here I conclude that the sealant has in its purpose of bonding with the paint, actually 'mixed' with the underlying paint In the long run, if sealants are used too often, the underlying paint would be constantly under erosion or attack. Here I think, although bonding or protection is longer for sealants, the sealant has at the same time, 'taken out' some underlying paint as well. Whereas for waxes, its layering does not affect the paint, therefore it wears off faster. Is this observation true for you? This is just another of my stupid ownself-think theory and ownself stupid conclusion, use less sealant, more wax -- it goes a longer way cheers
