  1. China Seen Overtaking U.S. as Global Superpower In most regions of the world, opinion of the United States continues to be more favorable than it was in the Bush years, but U.S. image now faces a new challenge: doubts about America
  2. I will never forget May 23 , 2011.. It was my lucky day.. I was my 3rd time spotting one while going to JB (2nd Link).. And I must say , damn pretty.. can't remember her name but she was like 20's... I purposely asked her a few stupid questions like " Must I insert my cashcard?" and "Is it packed at the other customs?" Her voice was.. [thumbsup] Any bros with similar experience?
  3. I was frog in the well...Now I remember....
  4. Anyone seen this rim or something close to this ?
  5. We all have seen typical types of wedding videos.... some are quite boring in fact.... Last night's wedding vid was quite different (but maybe some of you have already seen similar vids before, but this was my first time seeing such a vid....):- The vid was filmed in near-black&white kind of colour, not too focused (very much like home-made youtube vid quality), but it showed the groom proposing the the bride by the road side at night (possibly a 3-lane main road at 11pm when traffic was not really heavy but cars did zoom pass).... shaky camera etc all thrown in ..... both of them and friends around were really casual: some in long-sleeves and burmudas... the gals in shorts and t-shirt...... the 'acting' was quite natural, when the bride saw the diamond ring, her mouth opened wide and then froze..... LOL..... flowers??.... he was holding only a single stalk..... cheap and good.... Any memorable wedding vids you have seen??
  6. In response to the other thread, let's list down the best movies you've watched instead - so for those who've missed out, you know which DVDs to add to your collection. Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind Oldboy (the other 2 movies from the revenge trilogy were great as well, but Oldboy stood out the most for its cinematography and great acting) Donnie Darko Requiem for a Dream Kill Bill pt 1 & 2 Fight Club Se7en Any others?

Means you already sold your car at a value higher than your buying price...and the profit is in your hand now ??? I brought a Peugeot 107 about 2.5 yrs ago at approx SGD51k...COE is around SGD16k at that time...Now a new 107 cost SGD74.9k...Will anyone want to take in my Peugeot at SGD51K? My gain...not money...but 2.5 yrs of free drive excluding running cost....I really doubt so right...

  13. After I parked by the side (ensuring no inconvenience to anyone), I was helping my maid uploading groceries into my car. A man came foward & confronted me - questioning me if I have scolded him a madman. I was shock! He said his son overheard I scolded him a madman. I said' whos your son?' Then he shouted across to his son if I was the one. A boy, >10yrs old came & pointed at me. I was "huh!!!???" Then the man's wife came & started scolding me for being rude. For God's sake, she was actually carrying a baby in her arms! With his wife, I was thinking of ignoring him. PS!!! - I had never seen them at all!!!! Ignoring him was impossible! He began to put his face towards mine as if he wanted a fight. I asked what he wanted; he kept shouting at me for scolding him, challenging me if I dare to touch him & instructed his wife to call police. At this stage, my wife came down from my car & both women exchanged words. I quietened my maid & wife to aside & asked the man : "what you want, if its a fight - are you ready now?" I raised both my hands up & I pointed my nose to his. A few seconds - then he told his wife that he dun wanna continue with this low life, disgraceful people (referring to me) & walked back to his car. Before he got in, he shouted "KNN!!!". I immediately moved forward to ask him to stay for the fight. He droved off. I continued loading the groceries with my maid....... My maid told me that car was actually blocking the lorries from loading/unloading previously. The workers were unhappy and 1 guy was actually signalling to fren such a mad driver blocking their way....... So WTF! This bloody man was wrong in the 1st place. Then confronted just b'cos his son (<10yrs old) mistaken me for that worker. Worst, so what even if I was the one who made the gesture (not even any impoliteness or vulgarities), and that was not made in front of him - does it warrant for a confrontation??!!! I'd at least reflect myself 1st before jumping to any rash acts. Btw, I'd be self-defence getting physicals cos' the man confronted me with hostility and the intention for harm!. He was lucky that I'm with my family!!!" I regretted NOT insisting fighting with him, simply b'cos his son will grow up to be a bully, cos his father will confront anyone his son pointed at - right or wrong! What I have witnessed today: - a man failed as a father, so was his wife as a mother - a young lad nourished by his parents to be a bully - an unrepentful b------d who was wrong yet trying to push his way I have never in the past 20 years, felt its worth a real fist fight is necessary until today. If it happens that you are the man and reading this - "we are both middle-aged, matured men & fathers, but what you did today . . . . I sincerely welcome you for the fight you asked for. Damn!!!

  18. While travelling along AYE from Jurong around Clementi stretch saw an "unmanned" small video camera mounted on a short tripod pointed towards incoming drivers on an overhead road bridge. An umbrella was shading it. Then about 300m ahead on another overhead bridge managed to glimpse another 'unmanned' tripod pointing behind drivers. Anyone seen this ? Maybe both are synchronised to catch speedsters.
  19. STOMPer tiaotiaohu happened to spot two cars with identical stickers and decor when she looked out of her window this afternooon. Curious about their origins, she took a photo of the unusual sight and sent it to us. 22. dunno if this been posted here, but looks disgusting. http://wineanddine.asiaone.com/Wine%252CDi...0313-54189.html JOHOR - SOME hawkers in Johor Baru are literally cooking popular snacks such as goreng pisang and keledek with melted plastic, creating a health scare, a news report said. The News Straits Times reported recently that e-mails on the unethical practice have been circulating to warn people of the potential health hazards of eating extra crispy fried snacks or even chicken. The e-mails describe how some hawkers had been seen adding plastic straws and bottles into boiling oil before frying their snacks. The snacks would then remain crispy for several hours. Factory worker Rauf Hamdan, 24, was cited by the newspaper as one of the 'witnesses'. Mr Rauf said he saw a goreng pisang seller in Johor Baru throw a plastic bottle into boiling oil. "When I asked the hawker about it, he just said matter-of-factly that his customers had not complained of any health hazards from eating his goreng pisang." "He also said this 'recipe' was now popular among many hawkers like him." Plastic bottles are made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) which can cause various forms of cancer and birth deformities if ingested. According to the e-mails cited by New Straits Times, the trend allegedly started in Thailand, for frying ikan bilis and onions. It spread to Kedah and Perlis, then the rest of the country, the report said. Another witness said via email that his uncle had allegedly seen a goreng pisang seller adding plastic drinking straws into hot oil in Perlis. According another e-mail, a hawker in Cameron Highlands allegedly melted a five-litre empty cooking oil bottle in boiling oil by stirring it in, New Straits Times reported. Similar accounts are spreading among blogs. The Consumers Association of Penang research officer T. Subbarao said that the agency would launch an immediate investigation.
