  1. Guys, I cant seem to get a definite answer on this. I'm planning to sell my existing place n move nearer to my kids' school. A friend is saying I should take the opportunity to get a HDB resale; as in my wife buy a resale HDB and I buy the condo but each of us has to finance each property individually. Is this allowed?
  2. Anyone know where in Singapore can buy "half" size temp spare tyres. Or anyone has one and want to sell? e.g. those who upgrade to full size spare or those who prefer to save weight and get rid of the spare. Am interested in this specific size: 145/90 D16 or 145/90 R16 (which is actually the same size). Nowadays, many new cars don't come with spares. Am thinking of a half-size spare just in case (esp. for trips to Malaysia).
  3. I am letting go Low mileage jap car. Will there be significant diff in price if I were to sell through sgcarmart market place or sgcarmart bidding?
  4. I am looking to sell my house on my own. Its a private property. However I do no know where to begin. For starters, I just found out that I can't list my house on propertyguru if I am not an agent. Can anyone give me some advise or point me to a place where I can find out more? many thanks

  6. Hi everyone, I'm looking to sell my car. As I have quite a bit of free time and I'm not in a hurry, I was thinking I could save a big sum of money by selling the car by myself. I also have a dealer agent who will do the paperwork for me and give me a $400 cash rebate. As compared to selling to dealers and consignment, I know it's going to be more tedious. What are your views? How much harder is it to sell by yourself? Any pitfalls? Share your experience if any! Thanks.
  7. SINGAPORE - SMRT is in talks to sell its taxi business to private-hire operator Grab. If successful, the deal will see SMRT, the third largest cab operator, exiting the business it has been in for 27 years. The proposal is also for SMRT to have a stake in Grab - a Malaysian start-up that is seen to be a keen rival of Uber - and at least one seat on its board of directors. The Straits Times understands however, that the proposed deal has hit a bump over the jobs of SMRT Taxis' workers. SMRT, fully owned by the government's Temasek Holdings, wants the buyer to ensure all affected workers retain their jobs. But Grab it seems is not keen to take on more headcount as it has its own staff. "Because of this, the sale is nowhere close to a deal," a source familiar with the talks said. SMRT is reviewing its businesses since Temasek became it's sole owner and delisted it last November. It is understood the government investment giant wants SMRT to double up its focus on the rail business, with a view to make the MRT and LRT lines it operates far more reliable than they have been in recent years. The taxi sale, if successful, could signal SMRT's disposal of other less substantial businesses with low margins - such as buses. Its smallish footprint in the bus sector grew even smaller when it lost the Bulim and Selatar route packages to Tower Transit and SBS Transit respectively. SMRT had also wanted to start a mobility business based on autonomous road-going pods. But that too, has been shelved because of Temasek's focus to get the rail business fully back on track. http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/transport/smrt-in-talks-to-sell-taxi-business-to-grab

  13. Can someone advise which are the popular website for buying/selling a 2nd hand car. I also scouting ard now to buy a 2nd hand car. Can someone advise how not to fall pry to pitfalls, like we read so much abt buyer got con and already paid out huge deposit sum of money only to find out car is still under finance instead of already transfer ownership, etc. and still can’t own the car after paying all the money. Are there such pitfalls for direct dealing with seller? Tks
  14. Was looking for a used car which has 2-3 years left. Seems like used cars with 2-3 years left have ridiculously high depreciation, some cases even higher than brand new cars or those that are 1-2 years old? This is especially so for the popular ones like altis and camry where you can get the brand new ones for lower depreciation, with warranty and 5 years free servicing. I can understand the loan restriction probably pushed the price of these used cars up, but are this pricing really what is happening if I walk into a used car dealership?
  15. anyone has lobang to dispose of old handphones that are not in working condition? i've got a e71 and a htc tytn II.
  16. Hi all, i would like to use this thread to share information when you are looking to trade in your cars to dealers. By making use of this information here, we can provide the trade in price that the dealers are offering for your current car, then the people who browse this thread can also offer you a price that is above what the dealer quotes you. WIN WIN for both sellers and buyers. Sellers can to sell their cars at prices higher than what dealers offer, buyers can buy used car at a much more reasonable price. Hope that i can start this thread to make buying/selling prices more reasonable, more transparent. format as shows. Make: Model Colour COE Mileage OMV Handover date Dealer $$$
  17. Some frens has suggested to sell and cash out the earning from the 09 /10 units that were purchase. The quantum gain is 300 to 900 K Then stay with parent / rent and look for distress sales My thoughts is can sell, but the TDSR is preventing from buying again based on the loan limit and the age as well as the interest rate. And like some who missed out on the earlier period, the rental of 2.5K to 3.5K for 2 years could have being made for better use to service the loan with the assumsion that the property may appreciate further For me, if I were to sell, I would most likely drop back to HDB and have a nice nest egg for early retirement ... But as the rule is , if you have private, you cannot buy HDB and the gains tax is a killer if you have sold in years before 2000.
  18. I know cocoa trees have them, but anyone knows if they can be found in nearby supermarkets as well?
  19. Advise I have a car, which is 5 Yrs's Old,and I am overseas last 9 months, I still not consider selling my car or just keep for few another 3 months. Seek advise.
  20. Is it possible to sell my own HDB home and get another without going thru an agent? The amount of agent fee for both transaction is so huge!
  21. Hi guys, My Honda Jazz is due for scrap in 4mths time, so my qns is very simple, is it more worth to scrap myself or sell it to 2nd hand car dealer? as in fetching a higher value. Cos i heard before 2nd hand car dealer may export them out to sell n etc or something, is it true? FYI. My Jazz Reg date: Mar 04. OMV @ $16K
  22. Hi. I'm new here. Some questions need to ask here. Found car not working the very next day I top up full tank petrol... Not going to repair the 9.9 yr old car so have to tow my car to scrapyard these few days. Anywhere to sell the petrol away legally? Is it easy to get the petrol out? Which LTA appointed scrapyard give a better price?
  23. Have an old Core 2 Duo 13" Acer laptop. Battery not working very well (only needs cheap and simple replacing) oredi but everything in good condition. Was wondering where to offload it for at least a few hundred bucks, and the best place to get the price. Any guys with experience of doing the same? Any referrals or recommendations? Not too sure whether I should be going Sim Lim to get rid of it. Have a feeling I may get chopped or go home without having gotten a reasonable offer. I'm kinda expecting somewhere between $400-500. Is that reasonable from your experience?
  24. Finally! I have ballot with no success for 10 years. http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/permanent-balloting-ban-if-you-sell-your-ndp-tickets#xtor=CS1-10 The price for getting caught selling National Day Parade (NDP) tickets is now a permanent ban from being able to ballot again. Previously, the penalty was a ban of three years. Brigadier-General Melvyn Ong, chairman of the NDP executive committee, said in a statement on Tuesday: "Monetising the privilege to be part of the nation's birthday goes against (its) celebratory spirit... Those found to be involved in such activities will be barred from balloting for future NDPs." He added that the committee is working with online sale sites, including Carousell and eBay. There are still cock-sters selling tickets at this time.
  25. Scenario: My old car going to scrap. I am buying a 2nd hand car. I retain my old car number. I want to sell the 2nd hand car number Then I want to use back my retained number on the 2nd hand car. Can be done? If so, how to go about doing it? I know I can go to onemotoring to retain number. Just not sure about the selling part.
