Hi All, can shed some background of the main function of the above. My failed yesterday after hitting an object on the road and damage the wiring to the sensor . My Dashboard console yellow alert light came on. Engine running still normal, not sure what the impact in the long run, fuel consumption, inspection or exhaust CO2 ? Casper

1. I installed the anti-thief film and was given a crash sensor. But this crash sensor needs a car alarm system to work. Then, I realized that my car doesn't come with car alarm but only the immobilizer. The installer of the flim told me I have to pay around $150 to get an aftermarket alarm that work with the crash sensor but they don't have stock at the moment. 2. You guys fitted any aftermarket alarm system that work with the stock car's key? Any recommendations and lobangs? Thank you very much. Regards,

My MAF sensor failed last week. I was on K&N filter but got it changed back to stock before sending the car back to AD to claim under warranty. As what I've expected the first thing asked is whether I'm using K&N filter & was told that this is not a common part that fail unless I'm using oil-base filter. Of coz I got it claim eventually but just want to check with you guys that is it true K&N filter often cause problem on MAF sensor? Those on K&N filter, can I have some feedback from you guys on how long have you been using it & have you encounter such problem after certain number of year usage. Just want to have some feel on whether mine is suay suay fail or highly due to K&N. Thanks

Not sure what you call them, but there is a idle sensor which if faulty can have an effect on the AT. My car was recently diagnoise with that. And the mech told me, I was fortunately if not have to change another sensor for the AT. However, after the change discovered that idling not ideal cos can rise above the normal previously. And today the gears suddenly jerk when moving off. Got a fright. The most pressing issue is mechanic is missing prolly due to illiness. Was suppose to have him check on the problem after the idle sensor was replaced cos he suspected the wires could be faulty as well. I hope the mech was not pulling a fast one as his business oso not too fantastic recently. I am worried that car cant last the 10yrs..... All things change after last servicing with change in EO to 30wt and renewal of ATF. Any comments on mech's assumption? As may have to go to other mech if current is still missing.

I need to replace the airflow sensor of Sunny N16. Anybody got lowbung? Story: Everything was normal when I did the routine warmup before driving. All of a sudden, the car vibrate violently. I suspect it was the sparkplug got it changed, it became better but only for a shortwhile (10mins. So i visited the mechanic, they suspect its the air flow sensor - quoted $160 but they can't guarantee.

Finally can create a thread in the forums.... To all gurus in MCF... Can anyone tell me if they have seen this model of reverse sensors around? My ride doesnt have Reverse Sensor and was hoping to get something like the one above. Similar model also can. As long as it has distance meter good enough liao. cause it's actually for my father when he drives my car... I did a search here and saw someone having done it at $80 with installation. but the thread was more than a year ago... If possible, please tell me where you saw it and if can how much it costs... last week after i manually wash my car, my reverse sensor got problem. when i reverse, it is the continuous beep. i have check if there is any object behind, but there is none. after that, i drive around to 'dry' the sensor, then the sensor work as normal. then after 1 day, the continuous beep problem come back again when i start my car and try reversing. i have no time to think about the problem as i rushing to go another place. strange thing happens when i wanted to park at the another place, the sensor work as normal again. the same incident happened for another 2 days, start car and try reversing, the sensor faulty. but drive to another place, the sensor working again. seem like the sensor need warm-up? i have went back to do a one to one exchange of the sensor box although the continuous beep problem is gone, i still feel that maybe it is not the sensor box problem. i going to monitor for a few more days. anyone encounter this strange problem before?

Hi, I'm trying to find a NARROWBAND Oxygen Sensor to hook up to my Apex'i auto timer. I've been to a few stockist and they laugh me off and said my Starlet doesn't need one since it's on carburetor. Then I say, any Toyota O2 sensor will be fine for me, but they won't entertain me further saying i'm wasting their time (?!) Anyway, hope sifus here can recommend me a good narrowband O2 sensor. perhaps it may be better if i should go down with a part number, so if they try to be snide, i can just say buying for a friend. thanks!

hi guys, since my previous postings, i'm still struggling with my carb tuning. at the moment my fuel consumption is 10km/litre. i'm not asking for 15km/litre or anything, but there's a niggling feeling that i'm running rich (really strong gasoline smell when idling). tuning by feel or sound just doesn't cut it for me. i want to be able to quantify my tuning efforts. the stoich ratio will never be perfect, but at least i can be close *hopeful* as such, do you guys think welding an oxygen sensor into my exhaust (just after the headers) and connecting it to an air/fuel ratio meter is advisable? some links for you: http://automedia.com/Installing_Oxygen_Sen...res20050501ox/3 http://www.bob2000.com/carb.htm looking forward to meeting you guys again~ cheers!

To all prospective Superb buyers, locations for placing the reverse sensors are already catered for in the rear bumper cover. It will be adviseable to instruct your SE not to drill additional holes below the rubbing strip for aesthetic reasons. The following pictures were extracted from Briskoda.
