  3. MORE FT!!!!! MORE RAPE!!!! A young woman was allegedly raped at a Sentosa beach last weekend. The police received a distress call at 2.25am on Sunday morning (6 May). An Indian national working as a part-time lifeguard at Sentosa was arrested at the scene. The alleged rape is believed to have taken place at a beach pavilion not far from a party that was taking place at Siloso Beach. Sentosa Leisure Group deputy director of communications Suzanne Ho said that the man is a part-time worker who had ended his work for the day. It is understood that his responsibilities include patrolling the beaches and handling its daily operations. Ms Ho added that the man had joined the company only last month and was scheduled for work only on an ad-hoc basis. The suspect is now being detained while an investigation is being carried out. 5. This morn at 8.15, I saw a Sentosa Ranger in grey uniform holding a hand-held cam standing on the left side near the far end of the gateway. This is the 1st time I come across the speed trap. Fyi, the speed limit there is 50km / hr.
  6. guys, I just bought an annual pass to Universal Singapore and now looking for the best way to park in Sentosa after 5pm. I am planning to drop by Universal in the evenings when it is cooler. RWS is too expensive. Is there an cheaper car park? I see imbiah carpark is only $2/per entry after 5pm. Where in the world is that car park? It looks pretty far. Is there a better car to park going to universal?

  8. Dear all, I have lost my Canon Ixus 7 silver camera that is attached to a black pouch with a silver carabina today 23rd July 2011 at Sentosa along the route from Skyride queuing area to Sky Luge queuing area. I had reported the loss to the staffs within 15 minutes of the loss, before I took the luge. I am trying my luck here..If you are a staff there reading this, please do a favor and help me ask around. If any of the sgcarmart bros here happened to find my camera, please return back to me. It's a present from long lost contact friend and they have my memories inside. Thank you.

  11. Body stuffed in trolley bag found off Sentosa http://sg.news.yahoo.com/blogs/singaporesc...203607-865.html A decomposed male body was found in a luggage trolley bag in the waters off a construction site at Resorts World Sentosa on Saturday morning. The bag was found by two foreign workers and brought ashore. According to Chinese daily Shin Min Daily News, the male body had been placed inside a luggage bag and dumped at sea. According to media reports, police said the body was clothed but had no identification. The police were informed at about 8.40am, and the man was pronounced dead by paramedics at 9.15 am. The man is believed to have been dead for two to three days. The body was bloated and features were not discernible. RWS is building two hotels, a spa and maritime museum at the construction site, which is situated behind Underwater World. The police are investigating the case. Separately, a 36-year-old Chinese national was also found dead with a bloodied face in Marina Boulevard on Thursday morning. Police said a passerby alerted them at about 6 am of the body, which was lying face-up on a bench along a walkway at The Promontory@Marina Bay, reported local daily MyPaper. The man, who was pronounced dead at 6.30 am, suffered a laceration to the backof his head, said the police. They have classified the case as an unnatural death. There is no indication the death is gang-related and no weapons were found at the scene. It is believed that the man's wallet, with cash intact, was found. His haversack was also found near the body. Gambling related?
  12. After reading so much about it in the papers about the mangrove swap etc, I went down this evening only to see the place sparsely decorated with CNY flowers and a few structures.... WTF? No mangrove, no hills, etc. I found out that the various sections were merely named after the terrains that could be found in Singapore but not at the boardwalk itself... What a joke
  13. Anyone know if is open on 1st day of CNY? If yes, what time huh? Also, can anyone suggest what to do in JB early morning with kids in tow? As the hotel can only check in the afternoon. Many thanks in advance :)

  15. I got one extra tix to this event. I've been spending the past few days finding people to go with me, but sadly they either not free or don't watch football (a lot of my friends don't watch football. Shocking). I give up finding people liao. I think I'm just gonna offer my extra ticket away, then go myself. Anybody interested? Details of the event here: Sentosa World Cup Festival

  18. TAXI drivers are making a beeline for Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) these days. But not all of them are there to drop or pick up passengers. Some are there for another reason - to gamble at the casino. The New Paper spotted more than 30 taxis parked at the RWS carpark on a March afternoon. The taxis were from various taxi companies and ranged from ordinary taxis to the more expensive limocabs. Some were improperly parked - one was spotted stationed along a double yellow line, and another just outside lots which were temporarily closed. But none of the drivers returned during the three hours we were there. One who eventually did, a 66-year-old driver, admitted he had gone to the casino to gamble. See nothing wrong He said he could afford to do so since he is retired. He declined to be named, but insisted it was perfectly all right for him to gamble "for a few hours" if he wanted to. Some taxi drivers placed the booking system on a break while parked at the RWS casino carpark. The driver, a VIP member of the casino, said he was driving the taxi "for fun" anyway, and he could use the taxi as "a private car". Although he felt some taxi drivers should not gamble if they have mouths to feed, he said his case was different, as he is retired. "When I feel like coming to the casino, I come. I'm not bothered if I lose money. I'm not here to make money," he said He declined to reveal if he made or lost money that day. Another driver, who only wanted to be known as Daniel, was at the casino with his wife and friends. The 57-year-old declined to say much, except that he and his wife were not "full-time gamblers" and that he was in the middle of his shift. Although his income was "not fixed", he was fine with paying the $100 levy to enter the casino on top of his taxi's rental.
  19. Go to Sentosa and take a look. They want to gamble... I don't understand why. They definitely will not win! They feel their luck is good during the festive season. In the end? On the first day, the House earned $3.5 million. The second day, the House earned $3.7 million... They said, why not open more casinos? No, two is enough.' source http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_492197.html

  22. hmm...think tomorrow Keppel area/Vivocity/Harbourfront will be jammed like hell... Any bros wana go in tmr?? Most probably the casino will open few days before CNY so got new places to visit...GENTING 大大赚赚 (in Hokkien) http://news.omy.sg/News/Local%2BNews/Story...032-121199.html Integrated resort Resorts World Sentosa will absorb Sentosa admission fees for visitors who drive or take taxis to the resort from tomorrow, when it opens four hotels and 10 restaurants. Each taxi heading to the resort no longer has to pay up to $6, nor each car up to $7, for entry to the island. The resort will also offer discounted parking fees during weekday lunch hours for those who park their vehicles in its 3,500-space basement carpark. Between 12pm and 2pm on weekdays, motorists need pay just $1 for the first hour, instead of the usual $6, the resort said yesterday. Subsequently, each extra hour of parking between 7am and 7pm, will be at the normal price of $2. Parking fees are capped at $20 for 24 hours. The resort also announced yesterday that it has teamed up with transportation company SMRT to provide three shuttle-bus services to the resort. From tomorrow, the daily service RWS 8 will pick up visitors from VivoCity and HarbourFront. From next Saturday. RWS 68 will do so from Outram MRT station, and RWS 88 from City Hall MRT station. Both services are only for weekends and public holidays. Passengers will pay $1.80 to $2 per trip, which includes the admission fee. The fees are similar to the $2 charged by the shuttle-bus service from Seah Im bus interchange to Sentosa. Resort visitors who enter via the Sentosa Express monorail will still pay $3 each, the same fare as other Sentosa visitors using the monorail. SMRT will introduce a new express bus service, 963R, from next Saturday, which will travel from Woodlands Regional Interchange, Bukit Panjang, Bukit Batok, Clementi and Telok Blangah to the resort, during weekends and public holidays. It will cost between $1.50 and $2.35 per trip. From next Friday, SMRT will also extend NightRider services NR1 and NR6 which ply the northern, north-eastern and central areas on Fridays, Saturdays and the eves of public holidays to the resort for a flat fare of $3.50.
  23. It is possible that Yamashita's gold is still buried or hidden somewhere in sentosa ? Here's the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamashita's_gold
  24. Was looking around for a weekend stay with my kids this Saturday and realised that Rasa Sentosa has a good package for about S$209 ++. Called up reservation and told them I got 2 adults & 2 kids (7 & 12). The hotel told me since one of my kid is 12 and is considered an adult then I got to take 2 rooms. I told them my kids have to sleep with us but she still insist I got to book 2 rooms. I said thank you & hanged up. I don't understand the logic. Why are they so inflexible ? On one hand they need the revenue during this downtime hence the promotion, on the other hand they have so many terms & conditions to discourage would be local guests. Probably will just check in Marina Mandarin for S$250 nett (w/o bf) and still can walk to Suntec for the Pc show.
  25. -A flat rate of $6 applies for every car/taxi, regardless of the number of passengers. Payment will be made via the CashCard in IU at gantry. -A separate parking rate of $5.35 per entry applies at Beach Car Park and Cove Arrival Plaza Car Park. -For all other vehicle types, prevailing charges apply. Pls be reminded and dun get off-guard when you reached the gate. This exhorbitant price is getting frequent and started with Zoukout, then NYE, and now CNY. Maybe next time all holidays will be charged as such prices.
