  1. If you thought that luxury carmakers are safe from the recall epidemic, then think again, as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has just announced that BMW will be issuing a recall for certain 2010 and 2011 5 Series and 5 Series Gran Turismo models. It seems that the fuel tank sensor, which detects how much fuel you have in the tank, might become wedged, and will display an inaccurate reading. As such, you might be thinking you
  2. Couple of months ago , saw a DVD cover of the super hero 熊猫超人 and being a great fan to Japanese manga....went online to seach for more info. Apparently JAY CHOU was the director or whatsoever. The overall 造型 of the outfit was really cool tho resemble the JAPANESE manga "kamen rider". I decided to download a few episode hoping to catch a few grand enterance superhero scenes as the first apparent in ep 1 was really weak!!! I have given up watching after a few episode with lots of fast forwarding and still no luck of watching hero in action. I mean the hero suit and overall design of the character was really damn cool but weak in actions and in replace, lots of love and BGR scenes????SIAN sia..... JAY CHOU could have put in more effort in enhancing the hero character, instead of showing how he in hot wooing of the chick, jealousy while gal goes out with other guys and stuff. YAWNZZZzzzz Imagine watching dark knight with such a plot????? Take the whole pop corn machine and slam it into the screen liao. The show was named 熊猫人 instead after watching a couple of episode till last at least must know the ending...I think should rename it to 熊猫人的春天 instead. BOOOOooooo 2 thumbs down to JAY CHOU 熊猫人。。。。 [thumbsdown] what do you guys think especially fellow manga fans who watched it??????

  4. Those of you looking to buy a 2011 BMW 5-Series may have to wait longer than expected. The sedan has already been a hit for the automaker, who now reports that they are sold out of the model. Fear not, 5er fans. The result is that the newest customers will have to wait an additional, but not agonizingly-long, three or four months for delivery. The popular car is expected to make up as much as 17 percent of BMW sales in the United States. Though the car shares 70 percent of its parts and technology with the decidedly more expensive 7-Series, the 5-Series costs $25,600 less than the company's flagship model. The new 5-Series has a starting retail price in the States of $44,550. We wonder if some dealerships will try to add a premium on top of this cost, because of the early sell-out. The 2011 BMW 5-Series went on sale in Europe this past March, with American sales beginning this week. Source: bloomberg
  5. Wah finally model 520 has a long series that even a normal hdb parking lot cannot accomodate this model anymore. Like many said, the proud walk with their nose high up, this owner park with his front stick out. Enjoy...
  6. The all-new BMW 5 Series has exceeded its maker's own sales forecasts by a mile, according to a report by Bloomberg. Unveiled in November last year, the F10 5-Series was launched in Europe this past March and is apparently selling like the proverbial hot cakes. After losing money in 2009 the world's biggest maker of premium cars aims to improve its lot considerably in 2010. Cars like the X1 and 5-Series will help it achieve its target operating margin in the "lower one-digit percentage range." CEO Norbert Reithofer said his team is pushing for at least 1.3 million unit sales this year. However, challenges such as the lingering recession as well as Greece's financial problems and its effect on the euro currency could affect these plans. BMW took the top premium automaker crown from the Mercedes-Benz brand in 2005 and has not looked back since, although Audi seems to be making a serious challenge for it. 8. BMW is showing off their latest design study, the BMW Concept Gran Coupe, at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition in China. The show will be open to the public through May 2. At 1.4-meters high, the car is 10-cm shorter in height than the 5er and 7er sedan. Current rumors suggest that the car is already approved for production and will be marketed as the BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe to rival the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, a car which BMW does not directly compete against at this time. Here, the car's "vaulted bonnet" blends well with the wide kidney-shaped grille. The rounded rhombus-shaped headlights sit well above the bumper and create a sporty styling element. This is accentuated by the split bumper with large air intakes with black mesh grille. In back, the nearly five-meter long car has more conservative styling, with a somewhat short and squared bumper. The car has a wide LED third brake light mounted above the glass, which matches the LED rear light clusters. Quad tailpipes are set into the bumper as well. The German automaker's latest concept is meant as an ideological follow-up to the Concept CS 2007, with BMW using the Gran Coupe to set the tone for the future of four-door coupes. It has a longer wheelbase, which may be why it was debuted in China, and features design lines meant to draw your eyes to the front. If the car does get the green light, look for it to maintain certain characteristics. Specifically, the frameless windows and sporty styling at the front could very well make the cut, and show up on a production model. Also rumored is a shooting brake variant which is currently being evaluated. Look for the BMW Concept Gran Coupe to make its European debut in Paris this October.

  10. Over the next three years, Ferrari will introduce a new 458 Spider, Ferrari Enzo "special series", and four other new models. The cars have been announced by Fiat and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne at a press conference earlier today. The 458 drop-top and an all-new 612 Scaglietti with a V12 engine are scheduled for next year. Referred to internally as the F151, the 612 Scaglietti may also be shown off as a hybrid model. Marchionne also announced a "new special series Enzo" would join the all-new 599 GTB Fiorano (a.k.a. the F152) on the 2012 marketplace. This will be followed up with a significant California Facelift, or as it is called inside the company, the "California M." Also due for 2013 is a suped-up 458 Scuderia. Look for both Ferrari and Maserati to make each of their models rather distinct, practically creating sub-brands within the two companies. Sister automaker Maserati is also expected to release two new models, slotted below the GranTurismo, before 2015.
  11. Was going thru sgforum sometime earlier...came across this post where a guy claimed that one needs to earn 20K and above to drive a BMW 3 series!! Absurb man!! Where got so expensive!! Here's the exact post... "ya i do agree tat u got to earn a minimum of 5k before u can afford a small car in sg....as for those 100k++ car like bmw, lexus...etc....u need a salary of at least 20k and above....coz i am driving the new bmw 3 series.....and i know wat it meant to maintain such cars...." 15. If there's one thing a Mandarin enjoys, it's being chauffeured. And because China has no small number of the world's Mandarins, BMW has created a long-wheelbase 5 Series exclusively built in and provided for that market. The model is produced in BMW's Shenyang plant, where it's given an extra 5.5 inches for the rear passengers who travel in "luxurious grand touring comfort" due to the rear axle tailored to each model. These CDM specials even get a bespoke rear seat. Three engines are to be offered in outputs starting at 204 horsepower and going up to 306 hp
  16. I bought my N97 last December and discovered that I could not take proper flash pictures. Put up with the inconvenience for several months till I could not take it anymore and brought it to Nokia at Causeway Point Was attended by a service person by the name of "Ben" . To summarise the conversation I had.... Ben : "Oh...all N97 is like this. See....this is another N97 and the picture is also the same. We could minimise it by putting a black dot on your flash lens to reduce the over exposure " Me : " My previous N series phones all worked very well so why is this latest N97 so bad ? " Ben : "It is like this. We cannot do anything about it. If you bring down your phone, we can help reduce it but not rectify it " Me : " So you are saying that all N97 are made this way and I have to live with it ? " Ben : " Yes ! You bought a phone and not a camera ! " Me : " Okay but can you give me a black & white statement about this N97 poor flash pictures and that Nokia Spore cannot do anything about this ? " Ben : " Of course not ! We will not ! You can check on the website about this. If you are not willing to bring down your phone, we cannot do anything for you " Here is a sample picture taken at a distance ! Close ups are worst ! So much for Nokia phones and the terrible customer service attitudes they have here......I don't think this Ben guy is not even a Singaporean but some Filipino jerk with an attitude makes it worst for the customer ! Talking like machine gun and don't even give me a chance to speak my mind ! Stupid dict !
  17. No, this isn't a joke. Really. Automotive News reports that BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer shared this statistic during a call with analysts last week. It is unclear where this information came from within BMW, but it still comes as a staggering surprise that 80 (eighty!) percent of 1 Series owners believe that they are living with front-wheel drive. As we reported earlier, BMW is planning to bring front-wheel-drive vehicles to market in the near future, and the automaker is worried that it might confuse customers by adding these new products to the rear-drive-only lineup. Guess not. We firmly believe that all current 1 Series owners who think their car is front-wheel drive should hand over their keys immediately... to us.
  18. It's been over five years since the E90 BMW 3 Series was introduced, and according to Automobile, the all-new bread-and-butter Bimmer is set to hit the market in 2012. Codenamed F30, the next 3er is reportedly set to employ the F20 1 Series' front strut layout instead of the 5, 6 and 7 Series double wishbone arrangement. But the new underpinnings aren't the real news. Five body styles will make up the 2012 3 Series: The standard sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible (each coming out about six months after the former's introduction), along with a Gran Turismo model in 2013. The slant-roof five-door we've reported on previously will take cues from the 5 Series that shares the same name, but will feature a one-piece hatch unlike it's bigger brother's two-piece unit. Automobile also reports that the next two-door will feature bespoke sheetmetal with a more canted windshield, lower roofline and sculpted flanks, while the convertible will continue to use a retractable hardtop instead of a canvas roof. Naturally, the M division is hard at work on the next M3, and it's likely to drop the 420-horsepower V8 in favor of a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six putting out around 450 hp. There's a slight
  19. BMW will be cancelling the BMW M3 Sedan when the next generation 3-series, codenamed F30, is released, according to Automobile Magazine. The company will continue to sell the M3 as both a coupe and convertible, with each getting a straight-six 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine producing 450 horsepower (336 kW, 456 PS). In addition, the magazine says that the company will put the 3er Gran Turismo on the market from March 2013. That date coincides with the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The GT will be one of five body styles for the car, including the sedan, wagon, coupe, and convertible, all due out between March 2012 and 2014. A shooting brake variant could also be released down the line. Like the wagon, the GT3 is expected to get a long wheelbase providing more cargo space and legroom. A panoramic sliding glass roof may also be optionally available for both vehicles. For the 3-Series, BMW will use four cylinder petrol and diesel engines that are both more powerful and fuel efficient than previous models. Engines range from 136 horsepower (101 kW, 138 PS) to 252 hp (188 kW, 256 PS).
  20. BMW's M division has developed a new speed bicycle for more serious cycling enthusiasts. The BMW M Bike will be produced in a limited edition, and will be sold both online and through certain BMW dealerships. The 12.9 kg (28.4 lb) bike will be sold in three different frame heights. It is construced out of aluminum, and features the Match front suspension fork from Manitou. The springs used in the suspension have an 80-millimeter deflection. Engineers installed a fi'zi:k leather saddle with a red insert. Other features include disc brakes, and a Shimano SLX component group/gear system with a high gear ratio to optimize speed. The BMW M Bike will be available from June.

  22. Hosted by Wong Li-Lin, started tonight at 10pm on 5. Tonight episode was an insights into the world of the dead - from the point where the deceased body was collected, embalmming, returning the organs into the deceased body and sewing it up. Can see the intestine! Next week, where the pigs are slaugthered.
  23. IMO I think it looks great. Rear seems CLS inspired. Front seems 7 series inspired but is so much better executed. Looks-wise, a true E-class fighter
