  3. It has begun... From CNA: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1243747/1/.html Train service disrupted on NEL due to train fault Posted: 20 December 2012 1658 hrs SINGAPORE: Train services on the Northeast Line have been delayed due to a train fault on Thursday. A caller to the MediaCorp hotline said a train has apparently broken down. She said commuters have been told to take the bus to Serangoon station to continue their journey. Delays of up to 20 minutes can be expected in train services in both directions. One commuter said she had been stuck in the train for about 30 minutes. - CNA/xq

  7. Yahoo report: New pay-for-cuddle service launched in Japan A new store in Japan now offers a pay-for-cuddle service, reported Japan Daily Press Monday. The shop, called Soine-ya, which means 'bed-sharing shop' in Japanese, is located in Tokyo's Akihabara district, Japan's mecca of 'otaku', known in the country as obsessive adolescents living in the fantasy worlds of manga and anime. The services of the store do not come cheap. Customers must first pay a membership fee of 3,000 yen ($40) before they can make their selection from the menu, such as a 20-minute cuddle time which will cost 3,000 yen. An hour of cuddling time will cost 6,000 yen ($80) while a six-hour block of cuddling is priced at 30,000 yen ($386). For the price of 1,000 yen ($13), customers at Soine-ya can pick from these choices: having a lady rest her hand on the customer's arm for up to three minutes, gazing at each other or putting one's head on a lady's lap, also timed at three minutes. A similar pay-for-cuddle service was launched in New York earlier this year. Advertising the "the healing power of touch" on its website, The Snuggery, a one-woman show put on by a student studying for a Master's degree in social work, charges 45-minute session for $50, and 90 minutes of cuddling for $90. http://soineya.net/ link: http://sg.news.yahoo.com/pay-cuddle-launch...-112005327.html Forget about Amy Cheong saga, we go.. hmmmmm...... Soi-ne-ya (raba raba) whether got group cuddle, 1 man pay for 4 women ...

  11. Noticed a couple of times at my GF place, people stop in the opposite direction (probably because of convenience) but leave their headlight on. The moment I turn in from the main road straight away kena blinded. Anyone encounter the same issue too?

  13. I kana accident a few months ago. Decide not to claim insurance and fork out $$$ to repair. 1st WS I went is totally crap... Spend $3K+, change front lower suspension arm, front bumper and side fender and tie rod + respray. The rest of the arms go straighten etc. However, the car feels totally horrible. Wanders around when braking and accelerating (pull right on braking and left on accelerating). Mechanic tell me its like that one.... Cannot be repaired... WTF.....Feel like setting the car on fire or bang it into bits. Then saw on the ads a WS called Sin Hwee Motor that does chassis alignment one. Decide to go there to try out. After 2 weeks, the car is out of "hospital". Lots of stuff were changed out, cross members, suspension arms etc.....Chassis alignment etc.... All these stuffs not even $3K.... Then decide to change to BC BR coilovers and rims + tyres.......Total dmg $5.1K The car now feels totally different. Its even better than when I bought the car. Steering is very sensitive and responsive. Thumbs up for good service and restoring my car back. Now I also realise that if your car kana accident, you should bring it to a good WS to fully repair and restore the car. It can be done. You need the right equipment (they have the swedish equipment called Car-O-liner) and right people.

  16. Some months back I bought four V12 tires from Hankook's Kaki Bukit outlet. Today I went back there for tyre rotation. For straight forward front to back/back to front rotation, they charge $15. However as my tires wear on the inner edge (especially the front), I requested that the front tires be swop to the opposite side and place at the rear, and the back tires moved to the front (no swop). This is to even out the wear so that the tires last. Obviously I am aware that two of my tires need to be removed from and remounted on the wheels and that involves extra work and cost. The staff at Kaki Bukit tried to discourage me giving reasons that the side wall is susceptible to damage if removed from the wheel. I do not accept the reason and insist on my way. Now they quoted me an extra $40 to do that on top of the $15 originally chargeable. As I felt that this is is way too expensive (I have done rotation in this manner before at a much cheaper rate elsewhere) but because since the tires were bought from them and I am already there, I tired negotiating for a lower charge. They insisted that that is their rate and will not barge. I suggested that they speak with their boss but only to get the reply that Robert is traveling. Since they refuse to pick up the phone to call their head office, I decided to call their Hotline instead. The hotline leads to the main outlet at Woodlands. At the other end of the line, is the sound of a Malay man who spoke english. I describe to him my issue and ask for a cheaper rate but he insisted on his rate and instead told me to go elsewhere. I was mad hearing that and ask for his name because I find that is very rude to come from a customer service hotline. He ignored me and hung up on me. On hearing my conversation, the Kaki Bukit staff (a PRC girl) agreed that her colleague's attitude was poor but stop short of an apology. I left the shop fuming, not because they refuse to give me a cheaper rate but because of the extremely bad service attitude from the hotline. Robert, if you are reading this post, I want to say I am utterly disappointed with Hankook's poor service attitude. You can insist on your charges but it is also a customer's right to bargain. If no agreement, at most I walk out. But to have your customer service staff telling me to take the business elsewhere when I have brought the business to you, is downright rude and unacceptable. Not forgetting that he refuse to divulge his name when I ask for it and he hung up the phone on me. Hankook has a good product but with such service attitude, I won't buy Hankook again.

  21. From ST Forum: http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Story/...ory_802913.html Two-and-a-half tales about service Published on May 25, 2012 ON MONDAY, I shopped at Winter Time in 313@Somerset shopping mall, where I was served by a Filipino and a Chinese national. The Filipino showed me many types of luggage, patiently explaining the attributes of each. He reached for one that was hardest to reach because I liked it, and which I finally settled on. In the clothing section, the Chinese national offered helpful advice on the winter wear she thought I would need. When the outfit I liked was not available in my size, she called the other outlets and reserved a set for me. Needless to say, I was impressed by the professional and courteous service. Subsequently, my wife and children visited the outlet at VivoCity and were served by a Singaporean. When my wife asked her about a design on the upper rack, she replied that it was too high and suggested my wife try out an outfit to determine her size before choosing the design. That done, my wife picked the design she wanted, only to be told that it was also too hard to reach. Instead, the salesgirl offered the same design two sizes smaller because it was more convenient. Needless to say, my wife left without buying. Singaporeans are missing a positive attitude, fighting spirit and the drive to achieve more. Our solution to the foreign competition we face is simply to complain. But are foreigners stealing our jobs or are we losing jobs to them? Are employers choosing foreigners because they are cheaper, or because they are better workers? Finally, I offer a vignette from South Korea to round up my pair of anecdotes about service and productivity. When I visited the country, I chanced upon a single attendant manning six kiosks at a petrol station. He directed traffic, pumped petrol and processed credit cards and payments single-handedly. I would bet his boss was not looking to hire a low-wage foreigner. I hope we will adopt a more resilient mentality and a positive attitude. We have the language advantage and if we have the right mindset, there is nothing to fear about this new reality of foreign competition. Lim Chong Jen
  22. Alamak... Low pay no enough now must make them work longer. Is this kind of work arrangement consistent with the loud calls for a more inclusive society?
