  1. On Saturday (June 19), at around 4:17 a.m., a cyclist had gotten into an accident at Yio Chu Kang Link. His high-pitched wails could be heard throughout the entire neighbourhood. According to the person who had recorded the incident, the cyclist was first seen wailing by the roadside and clutching his leg in pain. A few minutes later, the wailing stopped and the cyclist was seen scolding the driver of a white car. Thinking that the cyclist had lost his leg or broke a bone, the man called for an ambulance while filming. When the paramedics arrived, he was relieved to see that the cyclist was able to stand on his own. However, this led to more confusion as he was unsure of what the cyclist was crying over. Netizens' reactions Once the video was posted, netizens quickly commented on the cyclist's ghostly cries, with some speculating that he could have been crying over the damage done to his bicycle. TBH, it would be pretty scary to hear those cries at 4 in the morning. While the extent of the cyclist's injuries is still unknown, we hope that everything is alright and we wish him a speedy recovery!
  2. A chain collision occurred on the PIE expressway earlier today (9 June) at around 8:45 a.m., with a motorcyclist seen crashing through the rear windshield of a car with his legs sticking out. Besides the motorcyclist, four other vehicles seemed to be involved in the collision. While the specific details of the accident are still unknown, the video's description indicated that the lanes in both directions of the expressway were shortly closed afterwards. With an increasing number of chain collision accidents happening locally, it is important for all drivers to be alert and cautious on the road. It is better to be safe than sorry. We hope that everyone involved in the accident is okay. Further information and updates regarding the accident will be posted in this article. Update: According to Mothership, it has been reported that the motorcyclist and a woman who was riding pillion on the same vehicle has unfortunately passed on from their injuries. We send our deepest condolences to their families.
  3. An Isuzu cement truck beats the red light signal while turning and hits an SBS bus along Aljunied Road on Thursday (June 4). The force of the collision threw the bus driver out of his seat and caused the vehicle to mount the road divider, resulting in a second crash with a stationary Toyota Hiace van. Based on the video, the bus ended up crashing through a fence of a nearby construction site while the cement truck appeared to be damaged from the collision as well. According to this Mothership post, the bus driver and two other passengers have been sent to Raffles Hospital on the same day. The driver has since been discharged and is on hospitalisation leave. Netizens' reactions With an increasing number of heavy vehicle accidents in recent years, it is wiser for drivers to slow down and take more caution while manoeuvring these bulky vehicles.
  4. Have you ever watched a car accident video and told yourself in your head that “heng ah, it wasn’t me or someone I know”? I guess it’s human nature. The truth of the matter is – Even if you’re the safest driver in the world, all it takes is just one idiot driver to mess it up for you. So what happens if it happens to you or someone within your social circle? Read on to find out. Sometime in the evening yesterday, 28th November 2019, I received a message from one of my closest friends. It was an image of his heavily damaged Honda Freed. That’s how heavily damaged it was. The cause? This Lorry. It was a pretty bone-chilling sight, but the fact that he was messaging me meant that he was fine, so that was a relief. Eventually, he sent over the video footage of the accident. The video includes both the rear and dashcam footage. In the video, my friend, the Freed Driver, let’s call him Jeff, for privacy sake, is filtering into an expressway. A lorry follows suit, loses control and charges straight into the back of the Freed, shattering the glass on the rear windscreen. Also, that's a damn loud bang. In the car There’s no in-car footage, but you can hear a brief exchange of conversations between three people in the car – Jeff and his two passengers. Jeff and the other guy were worried about whether anyone was injured, but the lady, presumably in shock, could only think of one thing. She was carrying Thanksgiving potluck food with her when the crash happened, and you can hear her go “Oh no! The gravy casserole’s everywhere!” Whut? Image taken from bigover.com This is what Casserole looks like. Anyhoo, I’m glad all parties are fine. RIP Casserole. You perished so that others could live. The best Thanksgiving dish yet.
