  1. Singaporeans spend so much time rushing here and there, living hectic lives. Sometimes, with everything that's happening, you neglect your own safety, and, in this case, you get put to sleep by a higher power. If you watched the recent Mortal Kombat movie, the way the jaywalker flew reminds me of this scene. But I digress. Let's get right into the video. It's a sunny (風和日麗) afternoon along a 2-lane road. The right lane is congested. The cam car navigates his way to the left lane (I would too to escape waiting). The cam car speeds up on the empty left lane and "Mr Ronaldo" (I'm going to call the jaywalker Mr Ronaldo) dashes out of nowhere into the path of the cam car. "Mr Ronaldo" 👇 BAM! Ouch! What an impact. It looks painful, doesn't it? The impact is so strong that it even sends him flying and flipping before crumpling to an unconscious heap on the road. The driver does not look like it's going extremely fast as he just started picking up speed not too long before Mr Ronaldo jumped in. Think of Mr Ronaldo like a tennis ball and the cam car as a tennis racket. That's rebounding at the maximum velocity right there. Here's the full video. Your-Facebook-Video-fbdown.net.mp4 While it does not look life threatening, I wish Mr Ronaldo a quick recovery and please watch out for traffic when you cross the road! Even better still, don't jaywalk!
  2. TL;DR - A reckless Rolls Royce Cullinan driver puts lives in danger by driving against the traffic flow to skip the long queue. The incident highlights the importance of responsible driving, regardless of the price tag on your car. The sight of a luxurious car is always something to behold, and the Rolls Royce Cullinan is no exception. With a price tag that can reach up to millions of dollars, this SUV is the epitome of opulence and style. However, as the saying goes, "With great power comes great responsibility.". Unfortunately, not everyone seems to understand this, as seen in a recent incident captured on video outside Hwa Chong International School. What happened? In the video, a Rolls Royce Cullinan can be seen driving recklessly, cutting through the long queue of cars by driving against the traffic flow. It was raining heavily then, making the situation even more dangerous. As impressive as the car may be, the driver's behaviour is irresponsible and dangerous. No matter how much one pays for a car, there is no excuse for driving recklessly. The safety of other road users should always be a top priority. It is worth noting that driving or riding against the flow of traffic, as indicated by traffic signs, will get you 6-demerit points with a $200 fine. 3. TL;DR – A cam car driver took to Facebook to complain about a cement truck after trying to filter into its path and failing miserably. Netizens wasted no time in giving their thoughts about the incident. There are many types of drivers in Singapore. Most are intelligent defensive drivers who keep a cool head under stress. Then, you have drivers like this cam car driver. The following video will take 46 seconds of your time, but it’ll be worth it. What happened A cam car can be seen travelling along the left lane of an expressway. The post caption states that this incident occurred on the MCE. [Important fact alert] A cement truck on the right of the cam car has engaged its left signal indicator light and started filtering to the left. However, the cam car driver has none of it and speeds up (it’s very obvious). In a desperate attempt not to get cut, cam car even veers onto the road shoulder slightly. It even ends up on the chevron markings a couple of meters in front. Salty fella In furious indignation, the driver of the cam car took to social media to complain about the cement truck and lodge a complaint with the company. Online Chatter Netizens who watched the video gave the cam car driver ‘zero chance’. Here are some snippets for your perusal. The comments all take this general stance over this issue. Writer’s thoughts: I don’t think it’s worth it to lose your life over a few seconds lost. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 4. TL;DR – A driver of a cam car (make and model unknown) took their grievances online to shame two Honda Civic Type-R drivers for dangerous driving. Unfortunately, things did not work out as planned. Netizens ended up flaming the driver of the cam car instead. A cam car driver was overtaken by not one but TWO Honda Civic Type-Rs along the CTE and decided to call out the two Type-R drivers for reckless and dangerous driving. In an unexpected twist, netizens started flaming the cam car driver instead. I don’t know how you feel about it, but it’s a great form of amusement to wash away those Monday blues, that’s for sure. Watch the 2min+ video here: An interesting takeaway At the 0.06 mark of the video, you can see the Gold Type-R entering the frame with its right signal on, attempting to cut into the cam car’s lane. But what’s interesting is that you can see cam car speed up to block the Type-R from doing so. Yet, cam car driver calls out the Type-R driver for dangerous driving? Hmmm. The second Type-R Agreeably, the second Type-R (silver) did drive rather dangerously. It squeezed into a tight pocket of space in front of the cam car and weaved through other cars to exit the CTE. It probably deserved the high beam from the cam car in that instance. But, as always, let’s hear what other people have to say. 5. TL:DR – An impatient lorry driver tries to beat the red light at a cross junction but ends up t-boning and wrecking a Mercedes instead. A horrific accident happened earlier today (9th Feb) at 2.23pm at Choa Chu Kang. It could have all been avoided if the lorry driver had shown some patience. Here’s the video: Rekt Not going to go into too many details, but the lorry certainly did a number on the Mercedes. If it were a lighter car, like a Honda Fit for example, it would have been flung down the bridge. How’s the driver? There are no updates about the driver or the occupants of the Mercedes, but we hope everyone’s okay. Patience please? Is it too hard to ask people to have some patience when they drive? If the lorry driver had just waited for a minute or two, this could have all been avoided. Online Chatter Interesting theory. Might be true. Right? I agree. 6. TL:DR – A Mercedes GLA brake checks a cam car driver for high beaming him. Cam car driver’s wife then explodes into a 3-minute lecture and telling off while the tunes of Baby Shark drone on repeat in the background. Poor cam car driver cannot catch a break. We’ve all had bad days in our lives. But what this cam car driver just went through, is a winner. Watch this 6min+ video to find out what I mean. The important bits are from the start to about the 3min 20second mark So let’s list down how the cam car driver’s day gets from bad to worst The domino effect starts with the GLA Rear footage from the cam car shows us a black GLA behind cam car that filters to lane 2 on the KPE, accelerates to overtake cam car and abruptly cuts into cam car’s path. This causes the cam car driver to high beam the GLA. Resulting in a short brake check game. The lecture begins For those who don’t understand Mandarin, I’ve summarized the main points for you. The wife’s point of view The husband deserved it Their kid was in the car Singaporeans don’t like to get high beamed Her husband high-beamed intentionally Her husband was driving too slowly (LOL) The GLA gave ample space before cutting into cam car’s lane The husband’s point of view This is a safety issue The GLA did not signal Their kid was in the car. Not signaling and changing lane is dangerous When we list them out like that, the wife starts to make a very compelling argument. Anyone else feel like this exchange between husband and wife is very relatable to couples out there? Baby Shark Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo This song on repeat is torture. It all ends well, don't worry Kudos to the couple though. You could tell they were angry with one another for awhile but they played it cool and kept their tempers in check. #couplegoals Online Chatter Looking at all these comments, the wife was right! 7. TL:DR – A van driver displays the ugly side of humanity and intentionally cuts a cyclist’s path. When the cyclist confronts the driver, the driver threatens to call the police, makes snide remarks about the cyclist’s visa (he’s a foreigner) and even splashes water on him. While we usually see stories on MyCarForum about errant cyclists, today happens to be slightly different. Today, we watch the ugly side of humanity displayed by a ‘guai lan’ van driver who needs to get beat up. Watch this 5-min long video to understand why. The audio is a little out of sync though. What led to this confrontation? Yes, the exciting bits are at the start of the video. However, if you watch the whole video, the trigger was when the van driver overtook the bicycle and swerved into its path without adhering to the 1.5m safety distancing rule. Clearly. the driver had no intention to let the cyclist through. Road bullying at its worst If that wasn’t enough, the driver even threatened the foreign cyclist. Here are some quotes from the conversation The driver even splashes two bottles of liquid on the cyclist. 8. TL;DR – A Toyota Yaris driver makes a wide turn, ends up on opposing lane upsetting a couple of motorcyclists who made gestures at him. Unhappy, the driver confronts them and even takes out a weapon from his car. This incident happened earlier today (2nd August 2021). A road raging Toyota Yaris driver whips out a weapon from his car in anger and it’s all been recorded on video! Here’s the video for your viewing pleasure. What right do you have to be angry sir? At the start of this 94-second video, we see a red Yaris making a wide turn and ending up on the opposing lane. He’s clearly in the wrong from the get go, so what right has he got to be angry? Gangsta uncle The motorcyclist reportedly made a gesture at the Yaris which infuriated the driver. If I’m not wrong, I heard the uncle say To which the biker replies Followed by short inaudible dialogue and a long uncomfortable silent stare down. The motorcyclist in front, presumably a friend tries to step in to defuse the situation. But does that help? Nope. Uncle has a weapon, I repeat, Uncle has a weapon! The uncle goes to his car to take out a weapon. Is that a fishing rod? Maybe it’s a golf club? Someone said it looks like a Samurai sword but I’m going to go with fishing rod. A lady tries to calm the angry Uncle but it did not seem to work. The video then cuts off leaving us to wonder what the heck happened after. Online Chatter I think anyone’s lj would tbh. All plausible scenarios Want to know what I think? I think if you’re in the wrong, and you know you’re in the wrong, just shut the hell up and go on your way. See la, now you’re going to be famous. 9. TL:DR – The title says it all. The owner claims that he ended up paying the $6.52 in the end, and the accumulated fines were due to the inability to navigate slopes at the MSCP because of the GTR’s lowered stance. When you drive an eye-catching car like a Nissan GTR, you’d better be on your best behaviour on the roads. There are digital eyes everywhere! Trying to escape paying carpark fees is not an example of ‘best behaviour’. Here’s the video for a weekend laugh. Updates on SGRV While normal tailgating out of carpark videos can be mundane, this update piqued my interest. The fines Let’s have a look at the fines. HOW IN THE WORLD DOES ONE RACK UP SUCH AN INSANE AMOUNT OF PARKING FINES? The whole argument that “Home MSCP too steep” is also somewhat weak. Park at an open-air carpark maybe? Does this car look familiar? So, we did some searching for GTRs on sgCarMart like we do every day (just to drool over things we cannot afford) and we found this: Compare that with the GTR in the video. I'm sorry this was the best shot we could get.... it's lowered after all. Do you think the hood vents on the body kits look somewhat similar? If they are the one and the same, that’s defnitely a creative way to ‘siam’ the $4000+ parking fines. Online Chatter Zero logic. Absolutely zero. 10. TL;DR – A stationary Prius at a set of traffic lights in Woodlands suddenly changes to the right lane. The driver then opens his door to reveal a phone in his hand and points the middle finger at cam car. What bizarre behaviour Watch this minute-long video to understand just how bizarre. The exciting bits are in the first 12-seconds (if you have no time to watch the whole thing). Did you spot something? But, because he decided to do something so foolish, cam car caught something interesting. This mofo was using his handphone while driving! Watched the whole video? Naturally, I watched the whole video to see if cam car had done something to ignite the hellfire within the Prius driver. But, there was nothing to support that fact. 11. TL;DR – A BlueSG car signals right but changes to the left lane, almost sideswiping cam car who swerved away just in the nick of time. Most of us should be familiar with the whole ‘pay by the minute’ business model of BlueSg, a car-sharing company. Paying by the minute is indeed a lot more affordable than driving your car or booking a private hire vehicle. Moreso if you can reach your destination quickly. But, that doesn’t mean drivers should rush from point A to B with blatant disregard of traffic rules. Like this BlueSG driver In this 35-second video, we see a BlueSG car cutting across two lanes from lane 1 in just under three seconds. Signalling right but changing to the left lane? Nice one lah! 👍🏼 Cam Car driver’s amazing reflexes If not for cam car driver’s lightning-quick reflexes, this would have resulted in an accident. 12. TL;DR – A Range Rover enters the main road via a small lane along Braddell road without looking out for oncoming traffic. Cam car manages to evade a T-bone incident with the Range Rover, but it almost came with a huge cost. Wow. I know the Range Rover is a big a#@ car, but shouldn’t that mean you can see almost everything as the driver? Not this guy Watch this 35-second video and see how oblivious the Range Rover driver is. Dangerous evasive manoeuvrers By some miracle, the cam car managed to avoid T-boning the Range Rover, but it had to swerve into the next lane and cut across double white lines in the process. If there had been another vehicle on its right, the crash would have been devastating. Not to mention, the cam car would have to foot the damages. Online Chatter A little harsh. Not! Sounds legit. Very vindicative bunch of comments. Love it. Looks like just smashing the Rover might be the best option here. ----------------------- Witnessed an accident? See something interesting on the roads? 13. A white Jaguar F-PACE miscalculates camcar's actions and switches lanes too early, resulting in an unexpected hit-and-run. The video starts with the camcar and several other vehicles patiently waiting for the green light at the junction between Bukit Timah and Kheam Hock Road. Upon the appearance of the green light, all cars start to move off, with the Honda Jazz in front of the camcar making a right turn. It is at this moment that the white Jaguar F-PACE decides to filter to the right lane, as the driver assumes that the camcar would be making a right turn as well instead of going straight ahead. This results in a pretty nasty hit between both vehicles. Unlike the fierceness of the vehicle's name, the Jaguar driver immediately increases his speed and runs away after the hit. Do you see the resemblance? The location of the accident While most would agree that the Jaguar F-PACE was being too 'kan chiong' in his judgement, some questioned if the camcar was in a right-turn only lane. Upon further research, here is a quick screengrab of the location. According to the video, the camcar was in Lane 1, which is a lane where vehicles can turn right or go straight ahead, while the Jaguar was in the middle lane. Netizens' reactions It's so sad that this is the reality when it comes to dealing with rich and arrogant drivers. 😞 Oof, if only the Jaguar driver would have thought to slow down and check his mirrors before filtering. TBH, it is easy to prevent an accident like this from happening if the Jaguar driver is alert and did the proper checks before switching lanes. However, the way he ran off afterwards is simply a cowardly action - it's not like he does not have the money to settle the damages (judging from his vehicle). I hope the camcar can catch this driver and receive the proper payout he deserves! ---------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 14. TL;DR – A Honda Shuttle makes a super-illegal left turn to block the path of cam car at a slip road. The cam car had initially cut into the Honda Shuttle’s lane and the Shuttle driver was having none of it. If someone cuts into your lane abruptly, how would you react? Whack that high beam? Sound the horn? Curse the other driver in the comfort of your car and forget about it in five minutes? That’s what I would do. But, in this latest 3-minute video, we have a Honda Shuttle driver who takes his anger management issues to the next level. So angry for what? Drivers experience this every other day The video begins with a common sighting – a vehicle (cam car) cutting into the path of another vehicle (Honda Shuttle) to enter a slip road. We do not know whether the driver of the cam car signalled their intention to lane change. Cam car enter the slip road, Shuttle drives past as if it’s going straight. Everything seems fine and dandy, right? WRONG! Out of nowhere, the Shuttle appears in front of the cam car and stops there. We then realise that the Shuttle is a Shariot car. It doesn’t even belong to the driver! Wait a minute, hold up For the Shuttle to end up there, doesn’t that mean it had to turn left here? That’s illegal AF though, right? RIGHT?! Uncle, why you so childish? Eventually, the driver steps out of the vehicle to reveal a singlet wearing Uncle. Who uses his phone to snap a picture of the cam car’s license plate. Both parties at fault? While we don’t know what happened before the recording, I must say that the lane change by cam car felt rather abrupt and could have posed a moderate level of danger for vehicles in its rear. But that does not justify doing something illegal to prove a point. Online Chatter Cheap car hard to find though. COE so high. 15. Luckily, no passengers suffered serious injuries during this accident. Earlier this morning, an GoAhead bus driver and his passengers found themselves in an unfortunate predicament during the morning rush hour. The video starts with a cam car turning into a junction near Loyang Ave towards Tampines Ave 7. The driver notices a green GoAhead bus travelling straight through the junction as the car slowly inches forward. He then stops in the yellow box as he lets the bus pass through the junction. Out of the blue, another bus appears from the right of the cam car and abruptly turns into the junction. The sudden movement causes the second bus to hit the back of the first bus, which results in the exploding of the windows on the first bus. Passengers situated near the windows appear to be in shock as the first bus comes to a complete stop. Pictures of the damage from the accident are posted online as well. What exactly happened? According to an online post, it appears that the driver of the second bus had misjudged the proximity of the other bus in the junction. This explains why he thought it would be possible for his bus to squeeze into the junction. Netizens' reactions I can't imagine what it must have felt like for the window beside you to suddenly shatter into a thousand pieces. It must have been traumatising! 😭 We do hope that everyone on both buses are alright! 😥 Any updates on this accident will be posted on this article. ----------------------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 16. Whoever taught this driver how to drive, what do you have to say now? 😥 There is definitely no way that this is being taught at driving schools. The video starts with a camcar driving along a junction at Geylang Road in the second lane. Intending to go straight after the junction, the driver slowly continues when all of a sudden, a grey car pops out and attempts a right turn. TBH the way he just slides across the junction kind of reminds me of this: A playback of the video shows that the grey vehicle is traveling along the fourth lane of the road. Upon reaching the junction, the driver realizes that he didn't form up properly to make a right turn. Not wanting to miss his turn, he slides across four lanes to make a reckless right turn right in front of our camcar driver. Luckily for him, the camcar quickly notices the vehicle's intentions and slows down. The video ends with a statement from the camcar driver, berating the other driver's selfish actions. Honestly, what is the driver thinking by sliding across so many lanes in such a short amount of time? Is it worth being so reckless and endangering the safety of others just to make a turn? Netizens' reactions Exactly! Missing a right turn is not the end of the world and yet, this driver is willing to risk it all just to have his own way. 🙄 Legit everything goes.. 🙄 If I were the camcar driver, I would be calling and reporting this to the TP the second it happened. However, as I was viewing the footage, I realise that it is fairly difficult to identify the license plate of the grey car, no matter how slowly the video was played back. Hopefully, the camcar driver is able to get a better look and bring this reckless driver to justice! ---------------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 17. An Audi A3 driver makes a terrible decision in the middle of the SLE expressway and gets shamed for it. That's right guys, you read the video title correctly. In the video, a cam car cruises down the first lane of the expressway when suddenly, the grey Toyota Vios in front of him abruptly brakes. This causes the cam car to hit his own brakes as well to avoid rear-ending the Vios. As expected, the sudden braking of both vehicles leads to a motorcyclist almost hitting the grey Vios as he performs a lane split. Puzzled over the sudden braking, the cam car eventually makes it further down the expressway, only to find a stationary red Audi A3 in the middle of the first lane. The owner can be seen climbing over the divider to retrieve something of his before running back to his precious car. This causes the cam car driver to let out an audible exclamation of "Walao eh!", which voices his disapproval at the Audi driver's inconsiderate actions. Why did the Audi driver stop his car in Lane 1? The A3 driver stopped his car in the middle of the first lane to retrieve this: Yep, that's right - a mirror cover. For those who are unfamiliar with these, a mirror cover covers the back and over of a car's side view mirrors. Its purpose is to protect the mirrors from dirt and debris coming up off the road, as well as to contribute to its aesthetic features. While it is rare for mirror covers to suddenly fly off while you're driving, it's possible for it to happen when one or more of the connection points on the cover is bent or broken. Although it is alarming to have your side mirror covers come off, the part is usually replaceable at a dealer's workshop. This then begs the question: Was it worth it to jam up traffic just to retrieve a broken mirror cover? Our netizens beg to disagree. Netizens' reactions I agree! The benefit of retrieving a possibly broken mirror cover does not outweigh the costs of potentially causing a serious accident. Yep, a quick search on Google shows that mirror covers cost between $20 - $50, with the pricier ones being a bit fancier. Unless you're telling me that the Audi driver's mirror covers are encased in 24k gold and diamonds, I do not see the need to stop his vehicle in the middle of the fastest lane in the expressway just to retrieve it. -------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 18. Seeing someone other than you get stopped by a Traffic Police is satisfying. But seeing a cyclist get stopped? Pure bliss! Watch this video to see how this pest of a cyclist gets pulled over by a traffic police officer: What happened? This incident occurred along Bukit Panjang Ring Road. A traffic police officer pulls over a female cyclist for cycling on the road without a helmet. However, there are speculations that she is likely to be pulled over for beating a red light at the earlier junction too. This speculation could be due to her riding ahead of traffic along this stretch of straight road – it is impossible to cycle faster than cars and motorcycles alongside her. Suitability for cycling on the road Her bicycle looks like an ordinary bicycle but upon closer inspection, you will realise that there is no seat attached to her bicycle. This leads me to this question: How the hell does someone ride a bicycle for a prolonged period without even sitting down? Furthermore, she was riding without the most basic personal protective equipment, a bicycle helmet. @Active Mobility Advisory Panel Here is a guideline/regulation for you to consider in your subsequent proposal: "For cyclists to ride on the road, they must first ensure their bicycles are certified roadworthy." Imagine if you see a cyclist riding a unicycle on the road one day — What a joke. Netizens' comments Straight up facts right here. Typical Sinkie comment. 20. Is this the driver's first time in an MSCP? A seemingly inexperienced Mercedes E300 driver attempts to turn left in WCEGA Plaza and ends up hitting a parked car instead. Upon watching this short clip, there is honestly nothing that can be said to defend the driver's mistake. Despite the carpark being full, the lanes are extremely wide and spacious, which makes it easier for drivers to manoeuvre around. Additionally, a left turn is one of the most basic moves taught during driving school and most drivers should be able to make a sharp left turn from circuit training. With that being said, the fact that this Mercedes driver is able to hit a parked car while turning left in such a spacious area makes me question his driving abilities and sobriety. Is he a really bad driver or just a blur sotong? WCEGA Plaza Located at Bukit Batok, WCEGA Plaza is an industrial building filled mainly with car workshops and dealers. Its structure is similar to that of other carmarts in Singapore, such as Automobile Megamart. While the purpose of the driver's visit to this carmart is unknown, it is possible that the car that had been hit belonged to a car dealer (aka a brand new car). No matter what, the price that this Mercedes driver has to pay is astronomical. 21. Urban myth As drivers, we all have heard of the myth that the police will always penalise the driver for knocking down a cyclist (or pedestrians too) - even if they don't look out for traffic. It's common beliefs like this that make drivers extremely anxious when they encounter run-ins with cyclists. However, one fellow driver proved this belief wrong as he shared his experience after getting in an accident with a cyclist. According to the Facebook post by Jacky Ang, he was driving out of a carpark in Ang Mo Kio in July when a cyclist appeared unexpectedly. Not wanting to hit the cyclist, Mr Ang stepped on his brakes. After seeing the cyclist fall in front of his vehicle, he stepped out of his car and offered to help. The day after The day after this incident, Mr Ang said that he had contacted the cyclist and offered to send him to the clinic for his injuries. However, the cyclist rejected his offer. A few days later, the cyclist sent Mr Ang a message wanting to claim his car insurance for his medical bills. Luckily for him, Mr Ang had already made a police report on the day of the accident. In the end After conducting initial investigations, the Singapore Traffic Police told Mr Ang that they will be charging the cyclist for failing to stop and look out for oncoming traffic. Relieved, Mr Ang posted about his experience online, encouraging other drivers to not be afraid of placing a police report for road incidents. Netizens’ reactions Mr Ang's post quickly went viral with netizens, who took to the comments to share about their own experiences as well. 22. TL;DR – A parked C-HR with p-plates suddenly accelerates and almost mauls a father and son at an open-air carpark. Things would have gotten ugly if they had been one second slower. There can be miracles While some of us might not be believers, a recent video uploaded on Roads.sg might change your mind. The incident occurred on 10th September 2021. Here’s the 35-second video: A one-second difference between life and death In an open-air carpark, location unknown, a father and his son casually walk past a cam car. If you observe the video, you’ll notice a black Toyota C-HR directly opposite the cam car slowly inching forward as the father and son enter the frame. The C-HR then suddenly accelerates and crashes into the cam car just as the lucky duo clears the danger. If it had been a second earlier, the father and son would have been caught in the collision. Let’s address the elephant in the room I’m sure everyone noticed the p-plates on the C-HR. Could it be because of the driver’s inexperience? Or it could have been a case of the driver talking on his phone? He was wearing his wireless earphones. And, if so, why wasn't his handbrake up? Online Chatter But, by 2040, no more manual car already. If everyone drives like this in 2040, scary eh! I’m just glad that by some miracle, a family did not lose a father and a son to a negligent driver. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 23. What do you do when you are rushing for time (for whatever reason), and the odds are stacked against you? Watch how this Honda Shuttle "skips" a red light by taking a shortcut: What happened? This incident took place along Corporation Road, at the junction of Yung Sheng Road. In the dashcam footage, a red Honda Shuttle is seen driving aggressively behind the cam car. Moments later, as the Honda Shuttle approaches the red traffic light, he slows down abruptly. And just when you think he is about to come to a complete stop... He decides to swerve to the nearby filter lane, perform an illegal U-Turn, and go to another filter lane to "skip" that red light (Intelligence +10). Thinking out of the box Undoubtedly, this driver possesses quick thinking and decisive skills, which are used for the wrong reasons. Like the one featured in the video, such manoeuvres should not be performed as they are purely reckless and hazardous to other road users. Exploiting a loophole? According to Chapter 276, Section 112 Part IV No. 54 of the Road Traffic Act, crossing a single continuous white line is allowed only when the road ahead is clear. Don't be mistaken, this is no loophole. What the driver doesn't realise is the fact that he did not obey traffic directions as indicated. Although it is uncertain how many offences he committed, I am pretty sure he has committed at least 1 offence from the "skip traffic light" Jutsu. Netizens' comments Yup, from the looks of it I am sure this is not his first time. Someone forgot about the 9th SAF core value - "Don't get caught" Judging by the way he drives, the sai sure at custom already. Well, what do you think of his actions? And what offence do you think he committed? --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 24. Another day, another joker on the road getting what he deserves for his reckless driving. What happened In the wee hours of the morning, a Mazda 3 driver is seen driving down Admiralty Road right beside a large garbage truck. Wanting to filter to his right, the car flashes its right indicator lights to signal its intention. This is when things start to go horribly wrong. Instead of letting the truck pass, the Mazda driver fails to check for safety and starts to drift to the right. The weird thing about his behaviour is that he actually slows down right in front of the large truck as his vehicle performs the lane change. As a result, the car ends up getting hit in the rear by the garbage truck and continues along the road for a while before coming to a stop. It is unclear if the Mazda driver had hit the brakes on purpose or by accident. Additionally, the fact that the Mazda kept going after getting hit could mean that the driver did not realise that he had been hit. A great example of why all drivers die die must have insurance It is important to note that the Mazda 3 driver carries a P plate, which is a probationary license plate that should be put on display at the top-right portion of the front and back windscreens of new drivers. The plate can be taken down after a year of valid driving experience. As such, it is critical that all drivers, especially P-platers, have insurance in case of accidents like this. Annual premiums for car insurance typically start at $850, and the amount that you pay is determined by your age, your occupation, the amount of driving experience you have, your car model, and your claims history. For P platers and drivers below the age of 27, car premiums are through the roof as insurers deem these drivers to possess a higher level of risk of getting into accidents. Netizens' reactions P-platers, no matter the situation, there is no reason good enough to justify driving and switching lanes recklessly. 25. The conflict between motorists and cyclists never ends. Every time it happens, a dashcam video emerges on the internet for us to spectate the drama between them. Here's one such video that occurred over the weekend. Where? The incident occurred at Kranji dam, along Kranji Way, which is a two-lane road. It seems as if Tour de Singapore is the favourite pastime of Singaporeans these days and it's commonplace to see big groups of cyclists on the road nowadays (as though the pandemic is already over). Road regulation reminder for cyclists Cycling abreast is allowed, but only on roads with more than one lane in the same direction. Below is an example where cyclists are allowed to cycle abreast. In this case, cycling abreast is prohibited since Kranji Way is a two-lane road going in opposite directions. Increasing the number of cyclists does not mean you can flout the regulations. Don't give me that 'strength in numbers' bull crap. The Van Driver The van driver was obviously feeling a tad bit frustrated from the road hogging of the entire kampong of cyclists. As such, he took matters into his own hands by crossing the double white lines to go against the traffic flow to dangerously overtake (but failed) the group of cyclists. That's three offences committed within quick succession of one another – The perfect formula to getting your license suspended or revoked. Netizens' Comments Straight facts. They are undoubtedly the cause of the incident. Maybe next time the cyclist should 'ownself check ownself' before posting the video online. Unpopular opinion edition.
