  1. Not too sure what's the context of the video below but it's been circulating in car groups and WhatsApp chats since this morning. Asking for it In this short 20-second clip, a wrecked car with a popped-up bonnet ran headfirst into the rear of a stationary Honda Civic. According to online sources, this incident occurred at Midview City. Considering the number of repair shops located there, online chatter suggests that a workshop personnel was behind the wheel of that wrecked vehicle. Moments of convenience, hundreds (or thousands) of dollars in claims The real question here - Is it even legal to drive this wrecked car around at all? Although it may be a short distance to a nearby workshop within Midview City's compound, the car's condition suggests that it would have been unwise to drive it. Given its current state, it should be towed to the workshop directly. See lah, kay kiang drive this damaged car around, now kena accident. Some people might say that the Honda Civic should have parked his car at a proper parking lot instead of alongside the road. However, it may be ridiculous to attribute any fault to the Honda Civic for this silly accident. Regardless, I hope the Honda Civic's owner can claim for the damages. Netizens' comments Was it worth it tho?😪 HA HA HA. Don't anyhow bring in cyclists, it is a sensitive topic. There's not even a single bicycle in sight. All the best to the Civic driver. I hope the dashcam footage serves you well. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 2. With a torrential rainstorm hitting Singapore yesterday, drivers experienced high tensions as they braved the rain during the morning peak hours. One driver, however, was not so lucky and did not escape the wrath of a motorcyclist. As the first few seconds of this video rolled by, I was already irritated by the sight of the slow-moving vehicles crawling their way through the underpass along Farrer Road. However, when the motorcyclist lined himself beside the Mazda just before entering the underpass, I knew something interesting was going to happen. As the motorcyclist unsuccessfully attempted to lane-split, he found himself stuck behind the black Mazda 6 throughout the entire underpass. Presumably annoyed that the congested roads did not open for him, the motorcyclist crept close to the Mazda to squeeze through the tiny gaps in between the lanes. Unable to get his way, the angry biker zoomed past the car once the roads were clearing up and expressed his emotions with an angry whack to the Mazda 6's side mirror. Very much like this angry cat here. What is lane-splitting? Just in case you were lost earlier when I mentioned it. Defined as 'riding a bicycle or motorcycle between roadway lanes of vehicles driving in the same direction', it is common for motorcyclists to perform lane splitting in slow-moving traffic. The main argument for this act is because lane-splitting prevents motorcycles from overheating. When a running motorcycle is at a standstill or edging forward for an extended period, the vehicle heats up quickly. Hence, riders must keep moving, even in congested traffic. However, lane-splitting is incredibly inconsiderate to other road users. Although it is tolerated by traffic laws when done safely, it puts the motorcyclist at a higher risk of getting crushed by a larger vehicle. Unless there is adequate space in between lanes, riders should avoid lane-splitting at all costs. Instead, the best way to manoeuvre through congested roads would be to practice care and anticipation. Better to stay safe than sorry! Netizens' reactions Some say the Mazda 6 driver is being a dick and others say the motorcyclist cb. What do you think? I think the Mazda 6 driver is pretty innocent tbh. -------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 3. Today, we have a Toyota Hiace driver that might have allowed water to seep inside his brain while driving in the rain. He drives against traffic flow along Changi Road towards the city and cuts across three lanes to turn into Siglap Ave. The best part is, he's driving calmly as if he's doing nothing wrong when in actual fact, he's scaring everybody As a driver myself, Singapore roads are extremely easy to navigate. I admit that I've driven against traffic before albeit in a carpark but never on a main road. Anyways, I digress. Here's the video. Where is this place? Gungho right? This is where the incident happend, courtesy of Google Maps. Maybe he made a wrong turn after pumping petrol at ESSO? For the folks here, when driving, please watch out for "unusual vehicle" and don't assume that everyone follows road regulations. Do not hesitate to alert them of their wrongdoings to prevent somebody from getting hurt.
  4. TL;DR – A valet service turns sour for a car owner as her valet driver beats a set of red lights, and she loses all cool when he tries to attempt to do it a second time. Turn up your audio for this one. Adulting After having a couple of drinks, if you drove to your destination, the responsible adult thing to do would be to call a valet service to pick you up and drive you home. Which is what this car owner did. But I would say her experience with the valet service was less than satisfactory and borderline horrific. The video Watch the 1min 16second video to understand what I mean. Red light 1 In the early seconds of the video, you’ll notice that the car beats a set of red lights. If the light had just turned from amber to red, I would have given the driver the benefit of the doubt. However, it’s evident that there was more than enough time to stop, but he didn’t. Even the owner of the car could sense something was going awry. Red light 2 Now I’m going to try and translate the conversation (to the best of my ability) for the non-mandarin speaking readers when the valet driver tries to beat the second set of red lights. We then hear the owner slam the door as she gets out to head over to the driver’s seat (presumably). Here’s the original post by the owner of the car which has gone viral. Online chatter I would not like to be on the receiving end of that shelling. -------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 5. Road rage incidents in Singapore has hit a new low with this uncle and angrily ripping off the windshield wiper of the vehicle that impeded his van from exiting a parallel parking lot with ease. I don’t know about you but there is something about the way that this uncle expresses his anger that makes me chuckle. The way that he rips off a windshield wiper before attempting to leave in his van is super comedic and entertaining. By looking at the footage, it seems that the cam car might have trapped his van in the parallel parking lot. However, after the uncle goals all "HULK SMASH" on the wiper, the van managed to leave the lot albeit after a 1001-point turn. Netizens’ reactions Honestly, all this unnecessary drama might earn the uncle a kopi session with the TP. Nervous much?
  6. Looks like there’s a new kind of pedestrian on the streets of Singapore. Why did the chicken cross the road? I never understood that joke. Partially because there’s hardly any free-roaming chickens in most districts and because I have never actually seen a chicken cross a road until today. The chicken looked confused by the environment as it went back and forth on the first half of the road. However, it seemed to realise that it wasn’t safe to be on the road as it dashed across at lightning speed to the pavement on the other end. Games have been made I get why ‘Crossy Road’ features a chicken in its game now. Are you smarter than a chicken? If a chicken can wait for the green man to cross the road, why can't we? There has been a rise in local cases of drivers hitting jaywalkers in Singapore – all because they were too impatient to wait for the green man. The most recent high-profile case involved a jaywalking man somersaulting in the air after getting hit by a van in Sengkang in May this year. Luckily for him, he was brought to Khoo Teck Puat hospital immediately and managed to survive while sustaining several injuries. Another recent case was featured on MCF and it involved two jaywalking uncles shuffling across the road when the red man was on. As the yellow cab zoomed past the crossing, it brushed past both jaywalkers which gave the driver an unnecessary scare. According to the Singapore Police Force, elderly pedestrians account for more than 80% of fatal road accidents in 2020, with half of these accidents involving jaywalking. Netizens’ reactions Looks like we all have a lot to learn from this chicken. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 7. TL;DR – Video footage of a Honda Stream cutting through tight pocket of spaces on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) makes one think of a particular Malay supernatural character. What is an Orang Minyak? For the benefit of people who are not familiar with the term, the direct translation for ‘Orang Minyak’ is ‘Oily man.’ Image by Deviant Art It is a supernatural being with a strong coat of oil/grease that can slip through any cracks or holes in your home. Back to the Honda Stream Like the Orang Minyak, the Honda stream in this minute-long video slips through small pockets of space between cars like butter. Here’s the video: Hold up, can an MPV do that? Well, the classification of the Honda Stream is technically a COMPACT MPV, but that doesn’t mean it’s small. Image by sgCarMart.com The only reason it could manage such a feat - The other motorists let it. At this moment here. And here. If the cam car or the car in front had decided to f#$% around with the Honda Stream, they could have accelerated, and the Stream would have hit them for a nice insurance pay out. Online Chatter There could be another story here. But imagine if the driver had hit other motorists. 8. TL;DR – Mazda 3 driver exits a carpark, does not stop at the stop line and almost collides with cam car. The driver then proceeds to wave his hands to “give way” to the cam car. Whut? This incident happened on the 17th of August 2021, Tuesday @ 11.15pm A Mazda 3 driver exiting the Sengkang General Hospital carpark failed to stop at the stop line which almost led to a collision with the cam car that was travelling on the road perpendicular to the Mazda 3. While incidents like this are commonplace, what happens next is what makes this story interesting. Here’s the 51-second video YaYa Papaya You’ll notice that the Mazda 3 driver makes some hand gesture of sorts initially. If it’s unclear, don’t worry, it gets better. He then winds down his window and you’d think that the Mazda 3 driver would apologise and carry on with life. But nope! He waves his hand to ‘allow’ the cam car to move! Eh hello?! You were in the wrong, and now you’re acting all high-and-mighty ff? 9. You might have come across a question like this during your BTT (Basic Theory Test). For the benefit of those who don't know, the answer should be "C". This is a one-way traffic sign. Apparently the driver of this red Outlander does not understand the sign. It's pretty clear that he made a mistake and turned into Tyrwhitt Road (a one-way street) along Lavendar street. While most people would stop, make a three-point turn and move on, this driver continues to drive against traffic along Tyrwhitt Road. Maybe there's a shortcut to his favourite durian stall. Here's the video. Anyway, this is how a One-way Street sign looks like. It even has the words "ONE WAY" plastered on it. How could anyone miss this? And for the Mitsubishi Outlander driver, If someone were to report you, I think it is highly possible that you will be penalised by the Traffic Police. Driving or riding against the flow of traffic as indicated by traffic signs - Demerit 6 points + Fine - $200. This guy, I really wanna "watch-out" him. 😂
  10. Within the past 24 hours, two unrelated cases of vehicles knocking over cyclists have surfaced on Facebook. The only thing constant in the equation? Both cyclists disregarded the red man and cycled across the road anyway. Both incidents took place yesterday (July 5), with the first one being at Choa Chu Kang and the second one at Sembawang. In the first video, a female driver was driving straight ahead across a road junction along Choa Chu Kang Dr after noticing that the light had turned green. However, she noticed that a cyclist had dashed out as she was accelerating, which led to her hitting the cyclist. Take note: there is loud screaming and graphic content in the following videos. In the second video, a taxi was seen performing a right turn at a road junction in between Sembawang and Mandai Road when it hits a cyclist that was crossing the road at a red light. Despite the roads being busy in both videos, the cyclists thought that they were able to beat the red light and just YOLO-ed their way through. Honestly, if I were them, I would be in constant "ragret" over this one stupid decision. Netizens' reactions It didn't take long for netizens to express their sentiments with regard to both incidents. As for the taxi driver (in the second video), many netizens shared their frustrations with the cyclist for not following the rules. We hope that all parties involved in both accidents are okay and will post any further updates if necessary. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 11. A PHV Toyota Vellfire was caught on video bullying a Mazda 3 by intentionally blocking it and preventing it from changing lanes. This road-bullying incident occurred on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), which involved a PHV Toyota Vellfire and a Mazda 3. In the video, a Mazda 3 and a PHV Toyota Vellfire are travelling alongside each other on lanes 1 and 2, respectively. Moments after, the cam car driver flashes his high beam as an indication to the Mazda 3 driver to filter to lane 2. BUT HERE'S WHAT PUZZLES ME The PHV Toyota Vellfire driver went through many inconveniences just to REPEATEDLY block the Mazda 3 from filtering to lane 2. The Vellfire PHV driver performed PLENTY of brake checks and aggressive manoeuvres such as overtaking from the left. Just so the Vellfire driver could remain alongside the Mazda 3 after overtaking a motorcyclist from the left, I felt that he might have pushed the entire 179bhp out of his 2.5L engine. However, I suspect that these two drivers had a prior altercation before this entire incident. FACTS NGL, this is what happens when a driver that lacks in confidence (Mazda 3) meets a guai lan driver (Toyota Vellfire). Regardless of what may have happened earlier, this Toyota Vellfire is definitely an a**hole of a driver. Unpopular opinion: Camcar, you ain’t no saint either. Instead of whining and flashing your high beam at the Mazda 3, you could have backed off a little and given way to the Mazda 3, so he could filter to lane 2. 12. The driver of a purple Lamborghini Gallardo purportedly shamed a Honda Civic driver for his/her social status and his/her parking skills. A purple Lamborghini Gallardo can be seen parked outside the demarcation of a parking lot. Despite her poor parking, Lambo lady took to her Instagram story to shame the Honda Civic driver. Lambo lady cited that jealousy was the Honda Civic driver’s reason for parking extremely close to her Lambo. Puzzled by her logic? ME TOO. Thereafter, she allegedly threatens the unknown Honda Civic driver by indicating her intention of “creating trouble for him/her”. The Plot Twist Now comes the interesting part...the plot twist. Despite Lambo lady’s success and wealth, she apparently did not pay for her road tax since 27th June 2021. Furthermore, netizens have apparently found her personal information, including her name, social media accounts, occupation and the company she works at. With all this information made public, things certainly do not look good for the Lambo lady. Under the Road Traffic Act, offenders that keep or use a vehicle without a valid road tax will face a maximum fine of $2,000. Netizens' comments Highly doubt 1 tub of aloe vera is sufficient for the amount of burn Lambo lady receives. Tired of reading burn comments on the Lambo lady? 13. A grey Honda Stream driver almost caused an unnecessary accident, by abruptly changing lanes without checking its blindspots. A Honda Stream driver that did a last-minute lane change, resulted in a near-miss with a motorcyclist. Luckily for that ignorant driver, the motorcyclist’s defensive reaction kicked in, and he managed to perform an impressive evasive manoeuvre to avoid the Honda Stream. Subsequently, the enraged motorcyclist rode alongside the Honda Stream to confront the driver but was shrugged off. Our road community could certainly do without entitled drivers who show blatant disregard for road safety. #Respectforbikers According to Singapore’s traffic rules, offenders will face a composition fine of $100 for their failure to signal. While offenders who drive without due care or reasonable consideration for other road users will face 9 demerit points and a composition fine of $300. Netizens' Reaction Facts, facts, facts. 14. I guess money can't buy proper road etiquette, can it? On 5th May 2021, a short video was posted on Facebook of an Audi A8 driver driving recklessly along Lower Delta Road. It's so bad that I even experienced some serious second-hand embarrassment from watching it. For those of you who cannot stomach the video, I am going to provide a play-by-play description of the incident below. So, we start off with the camcar driver, who is innocently drives along the road and slows down when approaching a red light at a traffic junction. He stops behind a black Audi A8, which continues to inch forward past the white line with total disregard to the red light. The driver continues to try his luck and even attempts to turn right while there's traffic coming from both sides on the adjacent road. As if realising that there's no way the universe will let it turn right, the Audi suddenly reverses and almost hits the camcar. Once the lights turn green, the Audi wastes no time zooming ahead without stopping at the right turn pocket. The driver positions the Audi dangerously near oncoming vehicles as if asking for an accident to happen. The Audi edged so far into the lane with oncoming traffic that it even made a silver vehicle stop dead in its tracks to avoid a collision. To carry on forward, the silver car had to manoeuvre itself around the Audi in an awkward fashion. If you thought that was all, think again. There's more! When the Audi driver saw an empty pocket of space, it sped off to complete the right turn, but there were two oncoming vehicles that could have crashed into the Audi if they had gone any faster. Netizens quickly took to the comments to voice their opinions (with some speculating that the Audi driver is either drunk, high or does not have a driving license): Simplified translation: 'You have to wait for death if you want to reincarnate, what's the rush?' What do you guys think of this road menace?
  15. On Monday (May 31) at around 4:25 p.m., a 14-year-old male cyclist met with a fatal accident with a Malaysian-registered trailer along Marina East Drive. According to the CNA article, the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. He had been riding a fixie bike, also known as a fixed-gear bike or a brakeless bicycle, which meant that the bicycle did not have any brakes. The Ministry of Transport announced the ban of such bicycles on public paths and roads in January this year. The 37-year-old trailer driver has been arrested for careless driving causing death. The photographs of the accident site posted onto SG Road Vigilante's Facebook shows the mangled bicycle torn into pieces. A screenshot of the trailer driver's outstanding traffic police fines was also posted on Facebook, showing that he had an unpaid amount of $600 from 2019. We offer our deepest condolences to the cyclist's family and hope that both drivers and cyclists will take more caution while on the road.
  16. In a recent post on STOMP, we find a woman lying down in the middle of the road looking up at the sky. She was initially sitting down along Yishun Avenue 5 before lying down. This unusual incident occurred in front of a bus stop at Block 732 Yishun Street 72 on Monday (May 31), at around 8.40pm. And here are some comments from the stomper who uploaded the images on STOMP. We don't know whether this is an isolated incident or a recurring one so if you're in the Yishun area, please drive with caution and don't mistake the lady for debris. We don't want another hit-&-run case like yesterday's Shiba Inu incident (refer to post below). Personally, I feel sad for the lady. She might some mental issues that requires medical attention. If anyone encounters such incidents, please react graciously. You never know what the other party is going through.
  17. The whole island was hit with a heavy rainstorm yesterday, with some experiencing more than just a heavy downpour. From this minute-long video, it seems that a Ferrari 458 was caught speeding down East Coast Road in 'not-safe-for-speeding' weather. The driver subsequently loses control of the vehicle as he attempts to accelerate, swerving left and right across three lanes before hitting an SBS bus and losing its rear bumper. Ouch! Netizens' reactions to the incident: This video ticked off a lot of netizens as they expressed their contempt for the Ferrari driver's dangerous decision: Although the Ferrari did not cause any major harm to other drivers on the road, it is crucial for drivers on the road to remember to slow down and be extra cautious as Singapore enters its next monsoon season in June. Thoughts and comments? Please and thank you!
  18. Recently, a video of a Honda Civic dangerously changing lanes along the SLE on 21st May was posted online. The driver was seen sifting through the lanes on the expressway without a care in the world. On top of that, it was also reported that he was speeding. Netizens' reactions As usual, netizens were not too happy about seeing the driver's lane changing technique. What do you think about this reckless behaviour?
  19. To the owner of this black Jaguar F-PACE, someone is desperately looking for you. Earlier today, a video was posted online showing a cam car driver bumping into the back of a black Jaguar F-PACE in the KPE tunnel on 19th May. The owner of the cam car is currently reaching out on social media platforms to locate the Jaguar driver to privately settle the damages. Both vehicles were driving on Lane 2 when they noticed that the lane was closed further ahead due to another road accident. The Jaguar driver signalled right to filter to the extreme right lane but was unable to fully enter the lane. As a result, the cam car driver couldn't stop in time and ended up hitting the back of the vehicle. Due to the heavy traffic conditions at that time, the cam car driver signalled the Jaguar driver to meet further down the tunnel to settle the insurance claims for the incident. However, as he continued driving in Lane 2 and stopped further in front, he was unable to find the Jaguar driver (who was supposed to appear from his right). As such, the cam car driver had to take the Lorong Halus exit out of the KPE and continued to his destination. According to the cam car driver, he filed a police report that day and he is willing to pay the Jaguar driver for the damages that he caused. If you recognise the license plate number or know of someone who had gotten into a similar accident recently, do head on to SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page and post a response.
  20. TL;DR – A man and a woman harass another couple over a parking dispute in Yishun. No one was hurt, but their childish behaviour is mind-numbing. Just another day in Yishun - Two men and two women engaged in a road rage dispute over parking. Before I carry on, please have a look at this 61-second video. What an ugly start to a video The video begins with an unattractive (to me) lady making faces and flipping the bird at the occupants of a Toyota Altis. From the article published on STOMP, we understand that this was in response to the cam car couple trying to park their car next to these two crazies in a Toyota Sienta. Crazy 1 (C1) Tf is wrong with this crazy? YOU HAVE A CHILD WATCHING WHAT YOU’RE DOING FOR GOODNESS SAKE! Crazy 2 (C2) Then we have this guy who comes out to challenge the cam car driver making stupid noises and acting like a monkey. Uncle, you look like you’re 60. WTF you doing? This is you right now. The uncle even tried to snatch the phone from cam car driver. Online Chatter All four of them are assisting the police with investigations. I say, go back to Primary school please.
  21. TL;DR - An EVO and a GTR duke it out along the MCE to see which is the faster car. Is there any doubt which would win in a race? Let’s find out in this 13-second video that we found on Beh Chia Lor's Facebook page. Spoiler alert If your money was on the GTR. You’re absolutely right! What about speed cameras? These two drivers are pretty ballsy to race along the MCE, where numerous speed cameras lie in wait to catch speedsters. For those who are not familiar with the speed limit on the MCE – it’s 80km/hr. These two cars are definitely going way past 80km/hr. Online chatter Err. Okay can. RIP. LOL. WOW. I didn’t even notice that till I read this comment. Super observant.
  22. What went down Just yesterday at 1:05 pm, a video was uploaded onto YouTube featuring a cyclist trying his best to keep up with traffic along the roads of Woodlands Avenue 7. Now, I’ve seen cyclists do some dangerous stuff before, but this is my first time seeing something of this nature. Honestly, I’m surprised that he even has the muscle strength to cling onto his ‘rides’ while cycling at a high speed. Based on the comments, we can only assume that the cyclist was performing motor pacing – a form of training for competitive cyclists where they draft behind a pace-controlled vehicle. While it is legal for cyclists to cycle on the road (given that they follow the proper safety regulations and wear a helmet), motor pacing is often used as an advanced technique for highly skilled cyclists. This cyclist, on the other hand, did not seem to be a competitive cyclist and was not properly equipped with the right gear for such training. Netizens’ reactions While this cyclist got off perfectly unharmed from his ‘grab & hitch’, what he did was incredibly dangerous and could result in a potentially fatal accident. Netizens also shared the same sentiment, with some complimenting the humorous background music. What do you guys think? Was this dangerous stunt part of motor pacing or was the cyclist just really overwhelmed on the road?
  23. TL;DR – Cyclist flies into a rage and blocks traffic when cam car driver honks at him. Yet another road rage incident by a cyclist who thinks he owns the road. I’m all for keeping fit and healthy. If people think cycling does that for them, I’m no one to judge. But, when it starts to endanger the lives of others, we need to draw some lines. Let’s take today’s video for example We have a cyclist who raises his right arm, indicating he would like to turn right. Under the rules and guidelines for cyclists, there’s no wrong there - 100 points for you sir. But why did he not check for oncoming traffic from behind? Putting up your hand does not automatically give a cyclist the right-of-way to ‘suka suka’ change lane and endanger other road users. You still need to check your blind spot for cars, yes? Even when you’re driving a car or riding a motorcycle, you still need to check your blind spot for vehicles if you signal left or right to make a lane change or a turn. And why so angry? The video has no audio, but from the body language of the cyclist, it’s pretty apparent that the cam car driver honked at the cyclist. The cyclist proceeds to get off his bike, obstructs the cam car and challenges the driver to come out to confront him. Comments This cyclist deserves an A for effort at following the rules and regulations but going through the motions without situational awareness is a fail. Till the next one!
  24. Here's something that happened in Fernvale you have to see. According to this minute-long dashcam footage, on 2nd May 2021 at 8:51pm, a driver is seen turning left into Fernvale Link and stopping at the last minute when he realised that there was an oncoming cyclist at the zebra crossing. Despite giving way to him, the cyclist glares at the driver, stops in the middle of the zebra crossing and gets off his bicycle to hurl vulgarities at the driver (we presume according to his aggressive gestures). The poor driver waits for him to finish before completing the left turn and continuing his journey. After watching this video, my heart goes out to the driver as I understand the pains of driving at night. Firstly, it's already dark so it's harder to notice pedestrians and cyclists from afar. Then, there's the issue of the cyclist not having a front light and wearing dark clothing, which makes him harder to spot. Lastly, even when the driver stopped in time, he still kena scolded. Netizens have also taken to the comments to defend the driver and flame the cyclist: With one guy even suggesting that the driver should have just continued driving: What do you guys think? Is the driver in the wrong or is the cyclist just another 'entitled loudmouth'?
