  1. Hi, Out of curiosity, can anyone share with me the operation of PI especially from the buyer's perspective? I have minimal knowledge how AD operates but none on PI. Generally, after a customer signed the contract and assuming it is 3 guaranteed COE bids, which translates to 1 & 1/2 wait for the new car. Next, they will send in the loan application(if applicable) and the results will be known within 3 days. I know they neither bid for the 1st nor 2nd round and will only act in the last bidding unless they already have Open Cat COE. Any particular reason? Do they need to send every JDM models to LTA for testing/inspection? I thought only those cars hovering 97kw need "dynamometer test"? Pls enlighten me? Pls share with me more details so that I can learn more. Thank you very much.
  2. Hi all, I'm wondering how most of you handle stress from work/family etc. I believe most of you will say once reach home see your kid, you'll be relieve of all stress. But some of us like myself dont have kids to help destress, so kindly please share different methods of how one can manage stress. Of course there are immediate stress relieve technic and there are those that require time to do so, like playing sports. For me, I enjoy playing badminton, cause can smack and release those things built up in me. But recently dont have time leh. Does squeezing a stress ball actually works?

  6. LOUIS VUITTON PULLS OUT OF SINGAPORE STREET DOG FUNDRAISER BECAUSE DOGS ARE TOO LOW CLASS Post date: 14 Nov 2013 - 2:15pm Source : http://therealsingapore.com/content/louis-vuitton-pulls-out-singapore-street-dog-fundraiser-because-dogs-are-too-low-class The road to saving stray dogs is an uphill one, filled with set backs & difficulties. Esquire Magazine asked me yesterday why, I, an aesthetics doctor who people will view as being living in glamour & driving a nice car, decided to dedicate my life to doing this. I replied that before I started saving street dogs, I was indeed one of such people- chasing the "Singapore dream". But embarking on such a journey changes you profoundly. At the beginning, people thought I was doing this to get attention, waiting for me to give up. My colleagues, parents and loved ones were dead against it, telling me to spend my time and money doing better things. But compassion is a universal language. We may all have different views, but at our core, everyone speaks the same simple language of kindness - not only to humans, but to animals as well. That is what unites us in saving Singapore's street dogs. My interview with the good people at Esquire Magazine yesterday was supposed to be for a charity fundraiser with Louis Vuitton . LV donated some items which would be auctioned, and the proceeds donated to Save Our Street Dogs. But in a dramatic turn of events, they pulled out during the photoshoot despite initially agreeing to be part of it - because LV felt that dogs, MONGRELS,, stray dogs, in particular, are too LOW CLASS for their brand image. It is an difficult road we have chosen to take, because many corporations and people are still blinded only with superficial glitter & bright lights, falsely holding onto the belief that the make-belief world of "luxury" they have crafted for themselves is the real one. To these corporations and people, "charity" is merely a means of making their brand look better, or making themselves look good - not for altruism. These people have forgotten the most important language of all - the language of compassion. Hawk Cut Weis Founder of SaveOurStreetDogs.com
  7. 5 years ago, just before I left regular service in the army, I did a ORD check-up and discovered I had abnormal ECG. A "cycling test" revealed that one of my artery may be blocked. Doc advised me to go for a angiogram and also balloon at the same time if the procedure confirmed that indeed the artery is blocked. I missed the appointment and have never been back. No problems like chest pain etc... Now I have 2 kids and feel more responsible and that episode has never been out of my mind, especially when people around me talks about going for "balloon" or hearing about friends of friends having a stroke... Now its time to step out of denial and face it... have a appt at SGH Heart Centre early next year. Can't find much local info on this. Any bros have such experience to share? Also, what is est damage? Have very basic medisave/ shield with no rider. Also only insurance is SAF AVIVA Group term Life plus some 30 major illness top-up. Assuming it won't be $8 for me, financially wise am I in shit here if a balloon/ bypass is indeed necessary?

  14. I wanted to give this feedback for some time liao. I was introduced by a bro who has retired from the scooby scene and moved on to the very woman brand. He told me : ' No one touches my car except Ron'. So I just went ahead and never look back since. Foo Brothers is known for the dedication and committment to customer satisfaction. Never will you encounter a situation where you will need to wait even though appointment has been made. Understand that some other workshops will still take in car despite schedule is already full, resulting in mechanics multi-tasking and end up, usual job takes longer than normal to complete. For them, very simple, schedule full means really is full. They wont take in more to compromise quality of job. I had my basic oil change service and also major servicing done there. I can only say that I know my cars are in safe hands. The mechanics really know their stuff well. In terms of pricing, they are very reasonable and best part, bo GST... In fact, just to share, I have a recent radiator(bought elsewhere) replacement and all was good. Subsequently, I went for a normal oil change and Ron spotted some leaks at the radiator outlet after his walk-around check( which I believe most will not bother to do this- finish the primary job and car is ready to roll out). I monitored the situation and decided to seek Ron's help as i think he is the best person for the job. In rolled my car yesterday and he replaced the outlet nut with a better quality one. The thing here isn't about the job but about his vilgilance. I cannot imagine the end results should the slow leak have gone undetected. His service is really tip top and I gotta apologise for talking about 'office'( i.e. car matters) with you after 'office hours' (530) Ron, thanks again! Disclaimer:I am in no way related to them but just thought I should share a good and cheap workshop with all:)

  17. Used to be on KU31 when i was on 17". Afetr changing to 18" cannot find a suitable tyre for a reasonable price coz I used to pay $490 for 4 KU31. 18" cost $165 which I found still too expensive. On Neuton for 100km. Really bang for bucks tyre. Be amazed at the price too. Call Mrs Chew at Kah Tyres at Lavender for pricing. I don't want to put here how much I paid.

  19. Hi guys I'm posting based on my recent experience which I hope will be useful.. Recently I was stopped by LTA along Woodlands Ave 12 around Seagate and was asked to go for inspection the same day I was confident as my ride was done up according LTA regulation so to my horror I was failed for my exhaust system which was legal accompained with a certificate when I bought my ride a couple of years back. But failed the inspection due to last digit of serial number was not clear due to scratches and for that I will be issued a summon for illigal mod Now need to appeal to LTA and if appeal rejected will be fined and need to get a new set of exhaust. A word of advise..please if possible send your ride for inspection 1st before purchase.

  22. Hi, I am overwhelmed by the different type/brands/price of car seats. Alot of questions and hope the you can share your experiences here and make this thread for sharing and discussion. My questions: 1) Your new born baby after delivery, from hospital to home, did you use car seats? Or did you hand carrry? Which is better? Which is safer? Are car seats suitable for newborns? 2) Did you use car seats from new born already? Or u start using car seats only after 1,2,3 months old? 3) Do you get dedicated infant seat (those type with handle for carrying for 0-9months), then upgrade to child seat when they older, or did you buy those convertible ones that can from 0-4years old? What are the pros and cons? 4) Which brand/model/price you got and is it good or bad? Your reviews please. Thanks.
