  1. The above charges are based on nett price pumped or got discount?
  2. Oil giant Shell will stop displaying pump prices at petrol station entrances, ending its seven-year solo campaign to raise price transparency in the industry. It has started removing price boards across its network of about 60 stations. This means motorists will find out about fuel-price changes only when they drive up to a pump island, or if they trawl the various oil companies' websites. The oil majors used to make it a practice to inform the public of price changes via the media. Source: http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking%2BNew...ory_815531.html

Bootloader will challenge players to check their virtual car boots to remove unnecessary items and excess weight which is affecting their fuel efficiency. 5. Folks, Wondering is there a difference in power when pump SPC petrol vs Shell? Not sure if is my wrong or there is really a difference between this 2 petrol. Note : All along i am pumping Shell. Thanks
  6. Just wanted to discuss an experience I just had at the Dunearn Rd Shell Station (the one the near Turf City junction). This Shell has been freely giving out those "$3 off every $40 petrol" vouchers like water. I have 3 whole sheets of these vouchers. They allow you to use more than one voucher per fill, e.g. $120 petrol (before discount) = $9 off. I was also pleasantly surprised recently when I "won" an $8 voucher during my last fill - this is that promotion where they match the serial no. of the receipt or something. It's like a lucky draw. Anyway, this is not something that's freely given out. So today I filled a full tank of V-power, as I usually do. The bill was just over $128 dollars. Naively, I assumed that I could use my $8 voucher plus three of those $3 vouchers to get a total discount of $17. Nope, think again. The counter staff (PRC girl) told me this was not possible because "both of them were vouchers" and I couldn't use 2 sorts of vouchers together. Or something like that. This struck me as unfair and stupid. For one thing, even after discounting the $8 voucher, I would still legitimately be able to use 3 of the "free" $3 coupons. It's not like I was trying to pull a fast one by getting a discount to which I was not entitled. Furthermore, the expiration date for the $8 voucher was close to the expiration date for all the free stamps (of which I had tons, more than I would be able to finish before the expiration date). So that essentially meant my "special" $8 voucher was fairly useless to me because I would never be able to use it in conjunction with the other stamps. If there had been someone waiting in line behind me, I would just have sucked it up and moved on. But since I wasn't inconveniencing any other customers, I decided to play hardball. I insisted on speaking to the manager. The PRC girl at first insisted she was the manageress there, and her decision was final. I said, OK I will write an email registering my displeasure to Shell. At this point, she relented and agreed to make a phone call to her manager (so there *was* someone higher she could readily contact after all ). After that call, she came out all apologetic and said they would accept all the vouchers together. $17 off. Finally. So I got what I wanted, but only after a good bit of table-banging. It's not even about the money, it's about being fair to the customer and the principle of the thing. Just wanted to vent a little, and share my experience so the bros here know what to expect.
  7. I just now pump RM24++ of petrol from Shell at JB 大马花园 and when I come back I check my banking statement I am charged RM200!!!!! Then I call the bank the person ask me to go back to the station and check with them. So I went in again and check but the pump attendant ask me check with bank again because the receipt amount is correct so is bank error. Then I ask to speak to the boss he says boss not around and as me go back next morning. So I come back to Singapore again and call the bank again. Then the customer service staff told me usually for petrol kiosk the amount charged is not the final amount. When the merchant make a claim then the final amount will be credited to them and the balance will be credited back to my account. Anyone encounter this issue before? So I need to go find the boss again the next day or wait for the amount to be finalize as told to me by the bank customer service staff??? Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  8. I don't know whether this has been discussed here before but ever since I started pumping petrol in Malaysia 2 years ago I have been wondering whether there is really any difference in the quality between the 2 countries other than the prices. Especially when Malaysia also have V Power 97 and V Power Racing. I presumed their V Power 97 is equivalent to our Shell 98? So any brothers here think or know whether their V Power Racing is the same as our V Power here? Please comment. Thanks!!

  19. Shell is offering its top grade V-Power petrol for the price of its FuelSave 98 grade this weekend. On top of that, motorists who take advantage of the offer also get an extra 20% Shell Escape points, for this weekend only. The special promotion will be held from Friday to Sunday, June 10-12 at all Shell stations (except Shell Woodlands Mandai and Shell Sin Ming) between 7pm and 11pm. 23. I just notice different pump price on the same grade of petrol between Shell and Caltex. For example, from the Shell and Caltex website (at 4-Oct 3.50pm), the Shell 98 (before stn discount) is $1.880/l and Caltex is $1.955/l. I thought in Spore, the pump price are usually the same for all brand. If the different is true, who want to pump Caltex. Anybody to confirm the price difference?

There are a few found in the google earth, but one thing for sure that the google earth is not updated with the complicated new roads in the new JB custom. Very much appreciated. Regards!
