  1. does anyone knows what is the combination of cards one can use to get the most discount from SHELL? Thanks.
  2. Last week, I receive a voucher from Shell thats contained 8 pieces of $3/- discount coupon for each week till end March for every refueling above $50/-. Stated also that if you use UOB card, a further 11% discount (inclusive of station discount) ........ Armed with the coupon and OUB card, went to refuel last Sat and was informed that my OUB card only entitle me to 3% discount + station discount of 5% (total 8%). To qualify for the 11%, I have to have the special UOB Ladies Card or their UOB Diamond card. My UOB Gold card is of no use for Shell see me no up ........ . When pumping at Caltex, one could use any OCBC card which will entitle you to the station discount of 5% plus 5% (total 10%) ....... If Shell wants to attach customers, why discriminate the types of cards. Be it Classic, Gold, Platinium ......etc..
  3. Anyone know where I can find cheapest seaon parking near UE Square? Many thanks !

  7. Sent my princess for a quick manual wash at Caltex Bukit Batok yesterday and boy, the car wash was packed like sardines in a can. Paid the usual S$7 and queued behind 2 taxis and a car. Went through the process like normal and came to the last stage of having the car wiped dry. Was reversing my car to an empty lot when suddenly "THUMP THUMP THUMP!!" followed by "Hoy!Hoy!". WTH! Looked into the rear view mirror, clear! Turn my head round and look, clear! Then what is it?? Got down my car and looked at the cleaning lady who was supposed to wipe my car dry. "Si mi tai chi? Ermm . . xiao jie, se mo shi?" I reverted to Chinese when I realised the lady was from China (pardon my Han Yu Pin Yin). I gestured to her, what's wrong. By now 10 to 12 pairs of eyes were staring in my direction. AND she said . . . guess what she said!! "Ni ho mian yo che" (There's a car behind you) I said "Where?? Where car??" She pointed proudly to a BMW parked 10 meters behind my car, 10 meters!! I shook my head and got into my car. OMG!! She spanked my princess on her butt. Previously they splashed petrol on my princess when pumping petrol, now this woman banged with her fist my car boot Good bye Caltex! I have had enough
  8. ATHENS: Greece's state competition watchdog has fined British energy giant BP and Anglo-Dutch counterpart Royal Dutch Shell nearly 50 million euros (US$63 million) for price-fixing, the body said on Tuesday. The two companies had a "concerted practice" of setting discount policy in gas stations around the country, which amounted to price-fixing, the competition commission ruled. At a November 20 meeting, the commission voted by majority to slap a 30-million fine on BP Hellas and a 19.7-million fine on Shell Hellas. "The commission found that (the two companies) had no intention of competing against each other and converged their net wholesale prices through proportionally adjusted discounts," the watchdog said. Failure to comply with the ruling within 90 days will incur an additional penalty of 10,000 euros per day, the commission added. The ruling is open to appeal at Greece's administrative courts. - AFP/de Any chance it happening here??? Price Fixing high chance will happen. Fine? No Way...

  14. What a bad friday morning. Ok here is what happened. As per usual route > heading to Boon Keng via the road in front of Serangoon JC to Kovan then to fly-over then all the way to Boon Keng. This is a long straight road. I reach Serangoon JC at about 7.00am. Traffic came to a crawl which was un-usual as i left home earlier today and at this timing traffic should be rather smooth. In the end i only managed to pass the Shell after Kovan at 7.30am. And the thing that pissed me off was there was road works in progress right in front of Shell which caused the center lane to be not accessible. I think this is very bad. I think LTA knew this route was a heavy traffic route in the early peak hours cos the fly-over was built in order to ease the traffic conditions. How can they even allow the road works to continue when the morning peak hours start? What the point of building something to ease traffic conditions when you going to approve another activity that is going to create jams? Dont they even care about affecting the daily commuters that use that road every morning to either get to school or to work. It just sounds ridiculous to me. To all the bros who were struck in this meaningless jam. I will be sending an email to LTA on this damn road work thing.

  19. Just saw shell price board, petrol down 4 cents again. Damn, just pump $70 this morning.
  20. do u believe such rich pple exist?? sorry my england is lousy On 3rd July 2008, at 8.40pm, i was at Shell Thomson ( Beside Long House Food Centre) pumping full tank for my vehicle. The mechanical parts for the pump was faulty and petrol flowed out of my tank. This caused a great shock and i quickly had to stop the petrol from running. I quicky informed the counter staff on duty. Her name is " IDA". I told her the pump is faulty and why is there no signage put up to inform patrons about it. I was Astonished and Deeply angered by her reply. She said : " Not much petrol is being wasted what. 2L of petrol only." And she told me ITS MY FAULT THAT IT OVERFLOWED because i pumped myself and i didnt know how to operate it. Is she kidding me? I had pumped shell since 7 years ago. Nothing of sort had happened to me and i had great experience with Shell which makes me Stayed on only to SHELL and no other companies. So is 2L of Petrol not important and we could waste it or is she so highly paid which she could close one eye on the wastage. Does Shell taught her such reply? I think Shell should do something about it. After all her reply she did not even dare to look at me in the eyes. Guilty? I hope Shell gives me a satisfactory solution/ answer for this. Best Regards,

  22. (Recasts, adds market background, details, analyst comments) By Luke Pachymuthu and Chua Baizhen [/size] SINGAPORE, May 9 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell will shut its second-largest crude distillation unit (CDU) and two secondary units at its Singapore plant next month for routine maintenance, piling more pressure on tight global distillate supplies. The CDU No. 4, with a capacity of 115,000-130,000 barrels per day (bpd) on Bukom island, as well as a gasoline-making platforming unit, is set to shut in early June and run for about three weeks, refining sources said on Friday. The platformer can produce an estimated 6,000 bpd of gasoline. The turnaround on the hydrotreater -- one of the smallest among seven others that produce mainly ultra-low sulphur diesel and jet fuel -- will start around June 24 and last for about a month, the sources added. A Shell spokesman declined comment when contacted. The refiner does not normally comment on operational matters. While analysts and traders said the turnaround would have limited impact on the major's export plan as they would have stocked up in advance, it comes at a time when global oil prices are driven by the strength of distillates on growing demand for transport fuel in Europe and for power in emerging economies. "Any time you have a crude unit or other process units going down, even if it's planned... directionally it will support the market, especially since this is not a very good time for this to be happening," said Victor Shum of Purvin and Gertz. A recent strike at the UK's Grangemouth refinery and output problems at the Porvoo refinery diesel unit in Finland have also curbed supplies at a time of shortages in China, South Africa, Latin America and parts of the Middle East. Outages were also seen in Indonesia, where Pertamina has shut an 83,000-bpd gasoline-making unit at its Balongan refinery due to an outage, while Valero Energy Corp is undergoing regular shutdowns at its crude and vacuum units in Corpus Christi, Texas. On Friday, U.S. crude prices extended their rally to records of $124.92 per barrel, propelled by strong diesel demand and active buying by investment funds. London gas oil futures premium to Brent crude also jumped to a record of $31.28 a barrel on the rally in gas oil Asian gas oil cracks 1M-CK-commanded $33.15 a barrel on Friday, near the record $34.81 hit three weeks ago, as news of the maintenance added support to a market already bullish on Western arbitrage hopes and strong demand from China. BULLISH About 90 percent of refined oil products from Shell's 500,000-bpd mega-facility in Singapore, which has two other CDUs, are sold into regional markets. Traders estimate the three-week CDU shutdown would take between three and four medium-ranged (MR) tankers cargoes, or 90,000-120,000 tonnes, of diesel off the market in June. And with competing demand from Europe, which could see a rare East-West arbitrage opening up as early as next week, traders said Shell refinery's partial shutdown could help lift prices further. "You have to know that the market will act on anything these days. Diesel is driving the barrel, it is the reason why crude oil prices are rising like there is no tomorrow," said a Singapore-based trader with an oil major. While Shell's maintenance of the platforming unit should have little impact on Asian gasoline, the market is expected to tighten in coming weeks due to the Balongan residual fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC) outage. Eyes are also on strong Australian demand for gasoline in light of recent shutdowns and outages. The gasoline reforming margin SIN, or the premium that gasoline fetches to naphtha, rose for the fifth straight-session, up $2.31 to $19.68 a barrel. The refiner's Singapore facility, which is Shell's largest refining centre by crude-processing capacity, shut its Long Residue Catalytic Cracker (LRCC) in end-September for more than three months following an outage. At the time, Shell's fuel oil supplies were most affected, as most of the product was drawn off the LRCC's residues as well as from another unit, the 66,000-bpd thermal gas unit (TGU), which had been scheduled for a three-week turnaround in November. The TGU was restarted in early December. (Additional reporting by Seng Li Peng; Editing by Ramthan Hussain) http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/feedarticle/7508420
  23. Juz joined a company who extends the Shell Corporate Fleet Card (currently 14%) to all employees but enjoy no loyalty points. Petrol spend will be deducted thru payroll. Or should I stick with existing credit card arrange. DBS Esso Credit Card + Esso loyalty point? Anyone work this out or compare before? Your opinion please.
  24. The shell personal card gives 3% discount on top of whatever discount is given at the station. However, as far as I know the citibank dividend platinum card gives 5% rebate, but seems to come with a catch that you need to hit 10k of spending on the card in a 2 year time frame to get the rebate. If that the case, isnt the citibank dividend card a better deal? Did I miss something?
  25. Know I'm a bit late but does anyone know if there's a minimum amount/petrol grade that's needed to pump to get the Ferarri model cars? Thanks in advance!
