  1. hi guys, can advise where i can get short gear shifter? thanks
  2. go where can get longer gear knob for my civic huh? or any bro selling? the manual gear knob is too short for my hand to reach comfortably....
  3. Hi Bros Theres been several inputs regards to the use of CAI. I'm currently on a fully enclosed heat shielded cone type filter (Green Dynatwist). The basics of fluid dynamics, the CAI is better to be short with minimum bend, to have minimum impact. However, if CAI is extremely short it will deem as just another open pod? Question: I've kept my CAI long enuf to ensure that its taking direct cold air from front fog area. Am i compromising the flow by a longer CAI? Am I doing it right? Or should I break the CAI into shorter sections and take the risk of pulling hot air from the engine bay? Diameter of CAI hose, wider or narrower ? I have the impression that by using wider (4") hose will enhance better flow ie. less restrictve. However, it was reflected to me to reduce to 3" that I'm actually compromising on the air velocity by using a wider hose? The flow will still remain even when I'm using a narrower hose except that its higher air velocity? CAI, which is most important? flow? velocity? length? Or am I too hysterical over unjustifyable difference?
  4. as above...intend to diy to short ram air...i oready got the open pod and cai hose..just need to get those round metal rod and rubber coupler...anywhere can get it cheap???
  5. which workshop customs the above? Price?
  6. Thinking of going to Poh Seng to fix an active sub. Any view on the installer ?
  7. Hi guys, As a follow-up of the Toledo Cupra R project...heh..heh... I've been experimenting with air intakes. The installation of the CupraR kit allowed me to have a cold air intake from the fog light. I found that the longer CAI tube did hurt high end power after some runs to redline. The low end gain of the CAI tube is good and pretty consistent on both hot and cold days. What I've done was to experiment with my Green Twister cone filter by disconnecting it from the CAI tube and see if there is gain in high end. Indeed, the high end is freed up and the twister makes a loud and nice induction roar. For those who are using the Green Twister, I would advise you to keep the CAI tube short for the Twister to function most effectively. Long CAI tubes introduce standing wave effect and turbulence. All the while, I strongly believe that a good intake should have 3 features: 1) Able to ingest a lot of air (preferably cold air) 2) Smoothly sculpted for less turbulence 3) Have a venturi velocity stack to force air to be constricted incrementally to increase air velocity. There are many forms of filters on the market, each which may have one or more of the above features. However, few fulfill all of them to a large extent. The 2 main camps of opinion are those that support 1) SRI (Short ram intakes - ie. open-pod cones) and 2) CAI (Cold Air Intakes). I think the reality is that SRI works very well in cold countries where the denser cold air even though heated by the engine still is relative cool and dense. CAI works well in tropical climate like Singapore where temperatures can go as high as 35 deg C, hence by the time it gets heated by the engine, it reaches 50-60 deg C. Hence the Green Twister does provide a good consistent drivability in the city. After searching for a long time, I found something on www.turbohoses.com that is a SRI but does 1 - 3 nicely. Here's a pic of it. So the question to myself is why consider a SRI?
  8. Hi, Have anyone change to short antenna for your Aveo? I wish to change n would like to know which brand has good reception. Preferably below $30. Saw one @Carrefour which costs only $8.90 but not sure if its good and can fit to Aveo.
  9. Since i installed my CAI (DIY) i have a feeling that it's robbing me of my much needed power ...so i removed it..(BTW i have a Surbo installed) and went with a Short RAM intake without much mods to it and went for a sprint. Wow ....My CAI indeed is not doing what i had wanted it to do......haiz waste of time... i think when the air had to travel along the length of the tube they eventually get heated up and the tube basically stifles my engine breathing...with that removed my engine can breathe better.
  10. Anyone done theirs? It is actually a short pin which a slanted end. Heard that the car need to jack up abit inorder to remove the original. After installing, the gear stick is much shorter and the gear shifting is easier coz the distance from gear to gear is reduced.
  11. Hi, guys, just wondering where can I buy a short radio antenna (orange colour)for vios. Any shops recommanded? How much does it cost? How is the radio reception after installing the said antenna? Any picture for viewing? Thanks.

  14. The Toyota Motor Corporation has reported a 11.4% increase in its earnings in the six months up to September 30. The company made profits of $5.5bn on sales of $85bn (an increase is sales of nearly 10%). The company reported that sales are growing in North America, Europe and Japan and this was quite enough to offset the effects of unfavourable exchange rates, which has damaged the results of some other Japanese companies. In the six month period Toyota sold 3.56m vehicles around the world, up 12% from the 2003 figures. Toyota also increased car sales in Africa and other Asian markets and says that it expects to have sold 7.22m cars by the end of its fiscal year in March next year.
  15. wow...saw today zaobao, lancer now cost only 62K now.....9 months ago when i test drove the car, it cost about 78K.....some more now got better package + rebate.... seems like lancer now the cheapest jap sedan now (cheaper then Thai made Altis and City, almost same price as Kia/Hyundai sedan) quite a steal, should expect to see more lancer replace the current overcrowded Matrix and Altis ? i should have wait for 1 more year before i bought my car......
