  1. TL;DR – VW Passat P-plate driver gets mad when he gets honked at for not stopping at the stop sign. Goes all aggro on cam car in front (with high beam and unnecessary lane cutting). Question: What’s worse than a P-Plater who doesn’t know how to stop at a stop sign? Answer: An angry P-plater who doesn’t know how to stop at the stop sign. What did you learn at driving school? I don’t know about you, but when I was learning how to drive, I’m pretty sure failing to stop at a stop sign was an immediate failure. Then we have this Passat driver, fresh out of driving school with his p-plates, not applying what he learnt less than 12 months ago. Here’s the video Wow, the audacity of this one Cam car gives a warning honk to the P-plater to avoid a collision. But that doesn’t sit well with the P-Plater. He proceeds to tailgate and highbeam the cam car in an aggressive manner. If you thought that was all, towards the end of the video, P-plater swerves out of the lane, speeds up and cuts into cam car’s path like a maniac. Am confused What confuses me the most is that P-plater swerves back to the right lane after all that recklessness. Making him look like not just a prick, but a real noob-#$%^ driver. Loving the comments Lots of wise words from wise people. I really hope the TP sees this video and nabs this guy.
  2. This cute, 24-second video could have turned horrific in a heartbeat. What dog? In this video, we see a man chasing his dog across the road. I’ve tried to identify the breed of the dog, and it looks like a Maltese or a Maltese mix. Image by orvis.com The playful dog prances around its owner evading capture. Under normal circumstances, this would be a cute scenario (watching the helpless owner failing to catch the dog and even falling on the road is quite funny). Enter truck But then, the dog, oblivious to traffic, almost gets run down by a truck. The truck manages to swerve out just in time and saves the pooch from doggy heaven. What the people say Yes owner. Get a leash.
  3. Imagine driving on a busy street where parking is scarce, and you see a vacant parking lot a few cars in front of you. Every driver starts hoping and praying that the cars in front of them don’t take that parking lot. In this case, no one takes that lot. When you’re closer, you realise why. Uncle, why you so kiasu Some overgrown Smurf uncle is standing there reserving the lot for his friend/family/idgaf who. I’m sorry, but “Uncle, this isn’t some Kopitiam where you reserve a table with your tissue.” Here’s the video by SG Road Vigilante, so have a look yourself. Warning – the techno music in cam car might be a little loud for some. Cam car driver’s conversation Cam car driver winds down his window, and we can catch snippets of his conversation with Kiasu Uncle (It would have been a little clearer without the techno). Basic translation from Mandarin to English because my Mandarin CMI “Hello brother, cannot like that reserve parking lot” “My car come here first leh” The uncle replies that his friend/son's car is just behind, and the cam car drives off in a huff hurling a string of profanities that I will not translate here. What the people say Some people think there’s nothing wrong with this Some think otherwise Personally, I think this @#$% should be illegal unless Kiasu Uncle dresses as a tissue box then I've got nothing to say.
  4. TL;DR – A man has been jailed for seven weeks and slapped with a four-year driving ban for speeding, running two red lights, driving against traffic and failing to stop for traffic police. In his defence, he had a stomachache and needed to use the toilet. The next time you’re driving on the roads and ‘kena’ the-mother-of-all-stomachaches, the urge to floor the accelerator will naturally creep into your mind. But don’t do it. Just don’t. Video from SG Road Vigilante YouTube Traffic police chase a man with irritable bowel syndrome This incident occurred sometime in March 2019 in the wee hours of the morning. A man left the Marina Bay Sands Casino and drove towards his home in Jurong. He experienced a stomachache and went up to speeds of 180km/hr (while literally trying to keep his S#$% together) A traffic police officer spotted him after exiting the PIE towards Jurong Canal Drive and gave chase, but the man did not stop for them. What other crap did he do? Pun intended. He ran two red lights and drove against traffic… twice. When the traffic police managed to pull him over, he had already crapped his pants. The police had to line the back seat of the police car with a plastic sheet before he was allowed to ride in it. The punishment He has pleaded guilty to one charge of rash driving and failing to stop for a police officer. He will have to serve a seven-week jail term and a four-year-long driving ban. He will begin his jail-term on the 27th of January 2021 and is currently out on $15,000 bail. Some interesting comments I mean, if you’re that desperate, anything is possible. Can you imagine the conversation in the cell? Cellmate: “Bro, what they catch you for?” Man: “Lao Sai” It sounds like you’ll suffer the next day. Source - Today Singapore
  5. A video of a Toyota Vios racer wannabe losing control on All Singapore Stuff's Facebook page has gone viral! In a short span of one hour, the video has gathered 170 likes and 61 shares! If you haven't seen the video, here you go, courtesy of All Singapore Stuff LMAO It's a short 17-second video that you can't help just playing over again and again and laughing your ass off. In the video, you'll see the Toyota Vios speeding pass the dashcam driver like an F1 race car as both cars approach a gradual bend. The keyword here is GRADUAL. Somehow, the Vios manages to spin out of control and hits the cement portion of the highway barrier… not once but twice. Ouch. Damages This incident so viral that even my father sent me pictures of the accident. Looks bad for the poor Vios. And the irony of it all The sign says “BE PATIENT I’M LOWERED”. Can you not see the irony in this? Here’s a zoomed-in view. What the people say Yeah, lucky siol. Some resourceful people managed to find the driver's IG handle. This post made me LOL again. I think he's not smiling, he crying.
  6. If you drive a Volvo, you're paying top dollar for safety. The XC60 is the Volvo with the most safety features packed into it, making it the "safest car in the world." Then you have this XC60 Uncle who confronts another driver without wearing a mask. All that safety becomes moot. Here's the video that the dashcam driver uploaded on SG Road Vigilante (XC60 uncle comes out from the car at about 0.30) Salty dashcam driver It honestly looks like dashcam driver wasn't too pleased with XC60 Uncle making a U-turn even though XC60 had ample time and space to do so. Dashcam driver (clearly salty af) chases after the XC60 and cuts into its path dangerously at a traffic junction. He even removed the audio from the video so you can't hear him sound his horn or curse at the start of the video. Read the comments later. It backfires against him. What Covid-19 safety measures? Moving on to the angry XC60 Uncle. It’s understandable that when you’re angry, you do things out of impulse. However, the new Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Act clearly states that The Straits Times Most Singaporeans are doing their part to bring the country back on its feet again. So please don’t be a CB during the CB, no matter how angry you are. Comments from netizens (even the Volvo Driver!) THE VOLVO DRIVER RESPONDED TO THE VIDEO! Eh, but seriously, should have worn a mask lah. It would be quite sway to get charged for a different offence from the original accusation. Good luck XC60 Uncle!
  7. A video of an aggressive Mercedes-Benz driver (who does not react well to being honked at) has gone viral. The video was uploaded on SG Road Vigilante’s YouTube channel and has since gained over 10,000 views in a single day! Here’s the video courtesy of SG Road Vigilante Using the powers of inference The video of the dashcam footage has little to no audio, but it’s pretty clear what’s happening if you use your inference skills. Image by SG Road Vigilante YouTube Channel The Mercedes-Benz C-Class feels like his lane is too slow for his liking and wants to switch lane loyalties. If you notice carefully, he starts his lane change before signalling. Image by SG Road Vigilante YouTube Channel Dashcam driver CLEARLY speeds up when he realises what’s happening and when he does not manage to prevent the C-Class from cutting into his lane, he jams on the brakes and the horn which is super uncalled for and childish. EGO, so much EGO! Does the C-Class driver let this go? Of course not! Men and their ego right? (the writer is a dude too, so it’s not sexist) Image by SG Road Vigilante YouTube Channel Mr C-Class then pokes his head out all angry like with accompanying hand gestures. He then puts his car to a complete stop on a two-lane road to get out of his vehicle to show his displeasure and holding up traffic behind dashcam driver. Image by SG Road Vigilante YouTube Channel He approaches the dashcam driver and disappears from the screen completely for a couple of seconds before heading back into his C-Class. Image by SG Road Vigilante YouTube Channel Thought that was all? Nope. He comes back with his mobile phone this time to take a video of the dashcam driver. Towards the end of the video, you can see part of a video of dashcam driver’s mobile phone. Bro, what are you doing? The kicker comes when C-Class decides to make some derogatory sign to the dashcam driver. Like, what’s the point here? Here’s what he did. You decide. Image by SG Road Vigilante YouTube Channel Want to know what this sign is? Here you go courtesy of Urban Dictionary. Does this mean the dashcam driver was a girl? If it was directed to a guy, that’s just…. weird AF! Even so, this is so uncalled for and rude and vulgar. When you buy a Mercedes-Benz If you drive a Mercedes, you’re telling people some basic information about yourself – You’re used to a certain standard of living, you like to stand out and show that you’ve got class and that you’re a confident and independent individual. Mr C-Class’ actions show us that instead, he’s a childish and petty person who would be better off walking from point A to point B. Dashcam driver, you’re no better for antagonising Mr C-Class. Here’s what the people have to say Image by SG Road Vigilante Facebook Page Pretty much split. Image by SG Road Vigilante Facebook Page So wise.
  8. This accident happened at Changi Village hawker centre carpark. You can watch the full video of the accident below courtesy of Roads.sg (if you haven't already seen it) What’s happening Honda Stream exits the carpark and attempts to make a right turn on a two-way road. The driver seems oblivious to the fact that there's a stop sign and inches the car onto the main road. The Honda Steam driver then jams the brakes and in less than a second, what looks like a BMW 6 Series crashes into it. Hard. Different points of view If you replay the video, you'll notice that even after the crash, there were no cars that went past on the other side of the road. Meaning, the Honda Stream had more than enough time and space to avoid the accident. Jam break for what? The driver also ignored the stop sign and failed to do proper checks before moving off. On the other hand, based on the sheer force of impact, the BMW was going pretty fast too. What the people say This sounds legit. I think it's the Honda Stream driver's fault. The BMW driver sway balls. Also, there's a lesson here people - Stay the #$%& at home.
  9. What's the most important thing? Stick to the end to find out! It's a good one. Like legit. A video uploaded on SG Road Vigilante has sparked a furious debate online that split netizens evenly on two sides of the coin. The video shows a Mercedes-Benz "stealing" a carpark lot from the cam car driver. Or is it really "stealing"? That is the question. The video, which was uploaded last week has since received over 260,000 views and almost 1000 comments! If you haven't seen the video, here’s the link courtesy of SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page Have you been in this situation before? In the video, cam car is patiently waiting for a carpark lot at IMM carpark for about 10 minutes. A White Mercedes-Benz CLS Class pulls up a couple of cars in front of the cam car. When the driver of the CLS (let's call him Mr CLS) spots a family walking towards the area he's waiting at; he decides to reverse to "claim more ground". Needless to say, once cam car driver notices what Mr CLS is doing, cam car inches forward to get the soon-to-be-vacant lot as he was waiting there for a long time already. Mr CLS gives him no chance to do so and reverses into the now-empty parking lot. This extra guy To make matters even worse, someone steps out of the CLS (supposedly the son of the driver) and walks over to cam car to give justification why the lot belongs to the occupants of the CLS instead of the cam car . He even makes a couple of rude gestures to the cam car once that's done. So whose lot is it? Some people say that the CLS had the right of way Calculative sia this guy and very specific too Some people jumped to the defence of the patient cam car driver The most important thing It doesn’t matter who the lot belonged to but we can all agree that on the most important thing....... This guy, is a complete a**hole Thanks Johnson! Couldn't have said so better myself.
  10. A recent Roads.sg video of two men using super unorthodox techniques to fill up a gas tank has caught the attention of many Singaporeans. At the time of writing this article, the post has since garnered over 100 comments (I’ll share some at the end of this article) which are pretty one-sided. Here’s the video if you haven’t already seen it. If you have, watch it again. It' bloody hilarious! Video from Roads.sg YouTube Channel Confirm Singaporean According to the Roads.sg video description, this incident occurred across the causeway. Screenshot from Roads.sg YouTube Channel The owner of what we believe to be a 2016 Toyota Vios, is definitely a Singaporean. I can say this with assurance because I've pumped petrol in J.B. before and you only ever see Singaporeans do stupid shit like this while Malaysians laugh at us. The back of the car looks similar! Do you save money in the end? If you're not too familiar with what is going on, the logic is simple. Bubbles are formed when you pump petrol in your car and these bubbles take up precious space in your fuel tank that could go to more fuel. Therefore, if you shake your car, the bubbles will dissipate, allowing you to get more petrol and more savings. Alright, you might save a couple of bucks, but the repercussions don't make sense to me. Not worth it You will eventually wreck your rear suspension which is not cheap to repair. You look like an idiot You give Singaporeans a bad name You will kena caught on video like this guy and, everyone will know you for the wrong reasons What the people say The answer is nothing. You saved nothing. Pretty sure he is. Facebook comments taken from Roads.sg Facebook Page That’s funny af.
  11. In a video submitted to Roads.SG and uploaded on YouTube and Facebook, a recent case of road rage has got me fuming mad with a particular individual. However, I'll try to be as civil and professional as possible. The video was just uploaded about 3 hours ago and has already received more than 100 shares on Facebook. Here's the video, in case you haven't seen it. Video from Road.SG YouTube channel The driver and his mother were entering a HDB estate and driving towards the entrance of a carpark when a white Honda Vezel almost has a head-on collision with their car. Screenshot taken from Roads.SG YouTube Channel Reviewing the footage, you can see the Vezel was on the verge of crossing the white line to the opposing lane. The dashcam driver gives a honk, accident averted, and that should be the end of the story yes? No. An Abang decides that there was an injustice with the horn and goes all aggro on the dashcam driver. Abang wasn't even the driver of the Vezel! Abang: The relationship between the Honda Vezel driver and Abang is not clear. Dashcam driver tries to defend himself and asks the Abang to look at his dashcam footage for proof, to which, the Abang says "don't need" multiple times. The spark to the argument The dashcam driver then says "Nevermind, LTA will see" and intends to drive off, but Abang Dashcam driver loses his cool and disregarding the warnings of his mother, he steps out of the car to confront Abang. Abang asks a damn stupid question - "What's your problem?". Dude, the problem is you. But, I digress. Moving on, Abang starts screaming his lungs out at Dashcam Driver. He's so fierce that Dashcam Driver actually starts shivering (the subtitles in the video helps a lot). Screenshot taken from Roads.SG YouTube Channel Shifting over to camera phone footage All this time, we only caught a slight glimpse of Abang. But with video footage from a camera phone, you can now see Exhibit A of the Singaporean Douchebag - Angry Abang. Screenshot taken from Roads.SG YouTube Channel I don't know about you, but when he starts laughing at the camera and saying shit like: Doesn’t it tick you off? The last straw My blood boils to its very core when he starts shouting at his mother - for presumably getting angry with his stupidity and trying to talk some sense into him. Screenshot taken from Roads.SG YouTube Channel Abang, you sir, are a turd aka shit. That's as vulgar as I can be in this article. What the people say Can get wife meh like that? Comments taken from Roads.SG Facebook page What do you think?
  12. A compilation thread for posting FB videos from Singapore Reckless Drivers Facebook account instead of starting new threads for each addition. "The dangerous decision made by the P-plate driver doing abrupt lane changing (fail to signal and check for safety) attempting to make an exit by crossing over the chevron marking. If you drive like this as a new driver, please get out of the road. http://youtu.be/MwSUvu-T2w8"
  13. I'm sure you are aware of the slew of road rage incidents lately: There was the motorcyclist who followed a motorist for 20km before kicking his car door and grabbing the driver because the driver changed lanes without signaling and nearly knocked the biker down. There was the driver who threatened the other driver with a wooden bat which he retrieved from his boot. Then there was local artiste Pierre Png who got flashed the middle finger when he came out of the car to check if his car was alright. Such incidents are not uncommon. They happen all the time in cities like Singapore - cities which are cosmopolitan and bustling. Singapore is already such a small island with limited land space, coupled with the huge number of cars on the road and the level of stress and competitive pressures from society, it's no surprise that we are angry most of the time or we get angry easily. It doesn't help that we pay so much for our cars and then get charged ERP to use roads which are extremely prone to traffic jams and delays. We are all part of this fast-paced rat race and our society is just so high-strung and uptight that we allow our stress and frustrations to take over the wheel, causing road rage between drivers. Can road rage be solved? I say NOPE... impossible. Road rage in a city like Singapore will never be resolved because of our culture and the mentality of our people. Places like China have the worst traffic order [think organised chaos] with three-lane roads becoming six-lane, but yet the motorists there aren't impatient or angry. That is culture. We are kiasu, we hate to lose, we want the best, we think we are the best... Now that's totally Singaporean. Be it at work in the office or on the roads behind the wheel, we are egoistic and we think we are always right. Always striving for excellence, efficiency and speed, time is money and hardly any room for error is tolerated. Road rage is a human flaw and a societal emotional problem. If I strike first prize in Toto or 4D, by all means, please cut my lane without signalling and please road hog. Simply because I will be over the top and your little act of stupidity is not gonna dent an inch of my happiness. But if I'm having a bad day and I'm feeling short-fused, you can be sure I will stare at you and if looks could kill you'd die on the spot! I'm no angel.. I've flashed fingers, flicked headlights and tailgated idiots on the road who annoyed me. In fact, driving has made me an angrier person because I let life's frustrations translate into aggression on the road. My vocabulary of expletives and vulgarities has expanded tremendously since I started driving and I have harboured thoughts of scratching one's car or puncturing the tyre because he offended me on the road. After you cool down you might feel like it wasn't such a big deal.. but when you're in it, the anger is overwhelmingly boiling! Yes life is too short and we shouldn't allow ourselves to get so worked up over momentarily incidents, but we're hard to please and we have high expectations for ourselves as well as for others. What can we do to reduce the incidence of road rage? Pretend Singapore is a peaceful countryside? Hold more courtesy campaigns with greater monetary incentives? Implement CWO and shame offenders by making them wash car parks? Bring them onto a programme to show people these are the culprits who make our roads unsafe? Nah... none of the above will work. As long as our society gets more affluent and the rich get richer, I can guarantee that baseball bats [or worse.. like a hockey stick!] will remain in the boot of many cars.
