If you’re familiar with the bonus stages in Street Fighter 2, you’ll remember whacking the crap out of a car to get additional points for a high score. We have a Singapore version But unlike Ryu and Ken, this guy uses a motorcycle helmet on a taxi. Here’s the video. The incident happened at Keat Hong Close, Bukit Batok, Singapore. And another angle Why so triggered Based on the video, it’s unclear why the 90s Ah Beng look alike got so heated up. He walks around the taxi yelling profanities and smashing his helmet all over even though there was a child on board. What are the damages? Broken mirror. Make that two mirrors Broken rear window. This incident took place along Corporation Road, at the junction of Yung Sheng Road. In the dashcam footage, a red Honda Shuttle is seen driving aggressively behind the cam car. Moments later, as the Honda Shuttle approaches the red traffic light, he slows down abruptly. And just when you think he is about to come to a complete stop... He decides to swerve to the nearby filter lane, perform an illegal U-Turn, and go to another filter lane to "skip" that red light (Intelligence +10). Thinking out of the box Undoubtedly, this driver possesses quick thinking and decisive skills, which are used for the wrong reasons. Like the one featured in the video, such manoeuvres should not be performed as they are purely reckless and hazardous to other road users. Exploiting a loophole? Another day, another joker on the road getting what he deserves for his reckless driving. What happened In the wee hours of the morning, a Mazda 3 driver is seen driving down Admiralty Road right beside a large garbage truck. Wanting to filter to his right, the car flashes its right indicator lights to signal its intention. This is when things start to go horribly wrong. Instead of letting the truck pass, the Mazda driver fails to check for safety and starts to drift to the right. The weird thing about his behaviour is that he actually slows down right in front of the large truck as his vehicle performs the lane change. As a result, the car ends up getting hit in the rear by the garbage truck and continues along the road for a while before coming to a stop. It is unclear if the Mazda driver had hit the brakes on purpose or by accident. Additionally, the fact that the Mazda kept going after getting hit could mean that the driver did not realise that he had been hit. The conflict between motorists and cyclists never ends. Every time it happens, a dashcam video emerges on the internet for us to spectate the drama between them. Here's one such video that occurred over the weekend. Where? The incident occurred at Kranji dam, along Kranji Way, which is a two-lane road. It seems as if Tour de Singapore is the favourite pastime of Singaporeans these days and it's commonplace to see big groups of cyclists on the road nowadays (as though the pandemic is already over). Road regulation reminder for cyclists Cycling abreast is allowed, but only on roads with more than one lane in the same direction. Below is an example where cyclists are allowed to cycle abreast. In this case, cycling abreast is prohibited since Kranji Way is a two-lane road going in opposite directions. Increasing the number of cyclists does not mean you can flout the regulations. Don't give me that 'strength in numbers' bull crap. The Van Driver The van driver was obviously feeling a tad bit frustrated from the road hogging of the entire kampong of cyclists. As such, he took matters into his own hands by crossing the double white lines to go against the traffic flow to dangerously overtake (but failed) the group of cyclists. Not too sure what's the context of the video below but it's been circulating in car groups and WhatsApp chats since this morning. Asking for it In this short 20-second clip, a wrecked car with a popped-up bonnet ran headfirst into the rear of a stationary Honda Civic. According to online sources, this incident occurred at Midview City. Considering the number of repair shops located there, online chatter suggests that a workshop personnel was behind the wheel of that wrecked vehicle. Moments of convenience, hundreds (or thousands) of dollars in claims The real question here - Is it even legal to drive this wrecked car around at all? Although it may be a short distance to a nearby workshop within Midview City's compound, the car's condition suggests that it would have been unwise to drive it. Given its current state, it should be towed to the workshop directly. See lah, kay kiang drive this damaged car around, now kena accident. Some people might say that the Honda Civic should have parked his car at a proper parking lot instead of alongside the road. However, it may be ridiculous to attribute any fault to the Honda Civic for this silly accident. Regardless, I hope the Honda Civic's owner can claim for the damages. Biker whacks side mirror of innocent Mazda 6 like an angry cat

With a torrential rainstorm hitting Singapore yesterday, drivers experienced high tensions as they braved the rain during the morning peak hours. One driver, however, was not so lucky and did not escape the wrath of a motorcyclist. As the first few seconds of this video rolled by, I was already irritated by the sight of the slow-moving vehicles crawling their way through the underpass along Farrer Road. However, when the motorcyclist lined himself beside the Mazda just before entering the underpass, I knew something interesting was going to happen. As the motorcyclist unsuccessfully attempted to lane-split, he found himself stuck behind the black Mazda 6 throughout the entire underpass. Presumably annoyed that the congested roads did not open for him, the motorcyclist crept close to the Mazda to squeeze through the tiny gaps in between the lanes. Unable to get his way, the angry biker zoomed past the car once the roads were clearing up and expressed his emotions with an angry whack to the Mazda 6's side mirror. Very much like this angry cat here. What is lane-splitting? Just in case you were lost earlier when I mentioned it. Defined as 'riding a bicycle or motorcycle between roadway lanes of vehicles driving in the same direction', it is common for motorcyclists to perform lane splitting in slow-moving traffic. The main argument for this act is because lane-splitting prevents motorcycles from overheating. When a running motorcycle is at a standstill or edging forward for an extended period, the vehicle heats up quickly. Hence, riders must keep moving, even in congested traffic. However, lane-splitting is incredibly inconsiderate to other road users. Although it is tolerated by traffic laws when done safely, it puts the motorcyclist at a higher risk of getting crushed by a larger vehicle. Unless there is adequate space in between lanes, riders should avoid lane-splitting at all costs. Instead, the best way to manoeuvre through congested roads would be to practice care and anticipation. Better to stay safe than sorry! Toyota Hiace drives against traffic on Changi Road as cool as a cucumber

Today, we have a Toyota Hiace driver that might have allowed water to seep inside his brain while driving in the rain. He drives against traffic flow along Changi Road towards the city and cuts across three lanes to turn into Siglap Ave. The best part is, he's driving calmly as if he's doing nothing wrong when in actual fact, he's scaring everybody As a driver myself, Singapore roads are extremely easy to navigate. I admit that I've driven against traffic before albeit in a carpark but never on a main road. Anyways, I digress. Here's the video. Where is this place? Gungho right? This is where the incident happend, courtesy of Google Maps. Maybe he made a wrong turn after pumping petrol at ESSO? For the folks here, when driving, please watch out for "unusual vehicle" and don't assume that everyone follows road regulations. TL;DR – A valet service turns sour for a car owner as her valet driver beats a set of red lights, and she loses all cool when he tries to attempt to do it a second time. Adulting After having a couple of drinks, if you drove to your destination, the responsible adult thing to do would be to call a valet service to pick you up and drive you home. Which is what this car owner did. But I would say her experience with the valet service was less than satisfactory and borderline horrific. Road rage incidents in Singapore has hit a new low with this uncle and angrily ripping off the windshield wiper of the vehicle that impeded his van from exiting a parallel parking lot with ease. I don’t know about you but there is something about the way that this uncle expresses his anger that makes me chuckle. The way that he rips off a windshield wiper before attempting to leave in his van is super comedic and entertaining. By looking at the footage, it seems that the cam car might have trapped his van in the parallel parking lot. However, after the uncle goals all "HULK SMASH" on the wiper, the van managed to leave the lot albeit after a 1001-point turn. Looks like there’s a new kind of pedestrian on the streets of Singapore. Why did the chicken cross the road? I never understood that joke. Partially because there’s hardly any free-roaming chickens in most districts and because I have never actually seen a chicken cross a road until today. The chicken looked confused by the environment as it went back and forth on the first half of the road. However, it seemed to realise that it wasn’t safe to be on the road as it dashed across at lightning speed to the pavement on the other end. Games have been made I get why ‘Crossy Road’ features a chicken in its game now. Are you smarter than a chicken? If a chicken can wait for the green man to cross the road, why can't we? There has been a rise in local cases of drivers hitting jaywalkers in Singapore – all because they were too impatient to wait for the green man. The most recent high-profile case involved a jaywalking man somersaulting in the air after getting hit by a van in Sengkang in May this year. Luckily for him, he was brought to Khoo Teck Puat hospital immediately and managed to survive while sustaining several injuries. Another recent case was featured on MCF and it involved two jaywalking uncles shuffling across the road when the red man was on. As the yellow cab zoomed past the crossing, it brushed past both jaywalkers which gave the driver an unnecessary scare. According to the Singapore Police Force, elderly pedestrians account for more than 80% of fatal road accidents in 2020, with half of these accidents involving jaywalking. You might have come across a question like this during your BTT (Basic Theory Test). For the benefit of those who don't know, the answer should be "C". This is a one-way traffic sign. Apparently the driver of this red Outlander does not understand the sign. It's pretty clear that he made a mistake and turned into Tyrwhitt Road (a one-way street) along Lavendar street. While most people would stop, make a three-point turn and move on, this driver continues to drive against traffic along Tyrwhitt Road. Maybe there's a shortcut to his favourite durian stall. Here's the video. Anyway, this is how a One-way Street sign looks like. It even has the words "ONE WAY" plastered on it. How could anyone miss this? And for the Mitsubishi Outlander driver, If someone were to report you, I think it is highly possible that you will be penalised by the Traffic Police. Jaywalking is a common sight in Singapore that is done WHEN TRAFFIC IS CLEAR ( I am sure we are guilty of doing it before). But then, there's this guy. Watch this short video to see how this dumb pedestrian jaywalks: This incident took place along Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, towards Ang Mo Kio Ave 5. Plain dumb or ignorant? Of all the times to jaywalk, this fella decides to jaywalk when an oncoming car approaches the traffic light. And the worst part is that he doesn't even bother to look left and right for traffic before crossing. A near-miss The jaywalker can be seen raising his hand and using the "force" to stop the cam car just before it hits him. (Nah, I am kidding - If not for the cam car's quick reflexes, an accident would have already occurred.) After being told to move off from a handicapped lot, a BlueSG driver turned into an uncouth Ah Beng and confronts the cam car. This incident happened at Block 371 Clementi Avenue 4, involving the cam car and a BlueSG driver. Here is a clearer overview of the location where the incident took place. The following occurrence was not in the video, but according to the cam car driver, he lightly honked the BlueSG driver as an indication for him to move off from the handicap lot he was hogging. However, things took a turn. And yes, this time, it was captured on video. Instead of apologising for his mistake of hogging the handicap lot, the BlueSG driver jumped out of the car and began approaching the cam car in an intimidating manner. And worse of all, he was not wearing a face mask. There are people who actually need the handicap lot In the background, there is the cam car’s elderly mother in a wheelchair. This justifies the cam car’s use of the handicap lot. With the BlueSG driver becoming more aggressive, the cam car’s elderly father had no choice but to step in before things turned ugly. Frustrations from a full bladder cost this limousine driver $8000

A limousine driver was fined $4,500 in court on Thursday (8 July) for punching and kicking another car that was blocking his way at a yellow-box junction. According to Channel News Asia, the incident occurred in May 2019 near Ion Orchard, when the freelance limousine driver urgently needed to go to the toilet while being stuck in a traffic jam. Due to his tight schedule, the driver needed to be at Beach Road in less than half an hour for another job. Wanting to exit from Orchard Turn into Orchard Boulevard, the driver found himself caught in a slow-moving peak hour traffic. There was no way for him to move out as vehicles were stopping inside the yellow-box junction. As the light turned green in his favour, the limousine driver tried to move out but was blocked by the victim, who stopped his vehicle in the yellow-box junction. With the frustration of a full bladder on a packed schedule, the driver got upset at the victim for being ungracious. This led to him throwing a temper tantrum as he alighted his limousine, kicked the front bumper and pounded on the windows and doors of the victim’s vehicle. The victim subsequently sent his car into a workshop and received a full quotation of $7,074.84. However, he only opted for partial repairs, which costs $550. The limousine driver pleaded guilty to one count of mischief, with a secondary charge of intentionally causing alarm. A grey Honda Stream driver almost caused an unnecessary accident, by abruptly changing lanes without checking its blindspots. A Honda Stream driver that did a last-minute lane change, resulted in a near-miss with a motorcyclist. Luckily for that ignorant driver, the motorcyclist’s defensive reaction kicked in, and he managed to perform an impressive evasive manoeuvre to avoid the Honda Stream. Subsequently, the enraged motorcyclist rode alongside the Honda Stream to confront the driver but was shrugged off. Caught an Audi A8 with zero road etiquette along Lower Delta Road

I guess money can't buy proper road etiquette, can it? On 5th May 2021, a short video was posted on Facebook of an Audi A8 driver driving recklessly along Lower Delta Road. It's so bad that I even experienced some serious second-hand embarrassment from watching it. For those of you who cannot stomach the video, I am going to provide a play-by-play description of the incident below. So, we start off with the camcar driver, who is innocently drives along the road and slows down when approaching a red light at a traffic junction. He stops behind a black Audi A8, which continues to inch forward past the white line with total disregard to the red light. The driver continues to try his luck and even attempts to turn right while there's traffic coming from both sides on the adjacent road. As if realising that there's no way the universe will let it turn right, the Audi suddenly reverses and almost hits the camcar. Once the lights turn green, the Audi wastes no time zooming ahead without stopping at the right turn pocket. The driver positions the Audi dangerously near oncoming vehicles as if asking for an accident to happen. The Audi edged so far into the lane with oncoming traffic that it even made a silver vehicle stop dead in its tracks to avoid a collision. To carry on forward, the silver car had to manoeuvre itself around the Audi in an awkward fashion. If you thought that was all, think again. There's more! When the Audi driver saw an empty pocket of space, it sped off to complete the right turn, but there were two oncoming vehicles that could have crashed into the Audi if they had gone any faster. The whole island was hit with a heavy rainstorm yesterday, with some experiencing more than just a heavy downpour. From this minute-long video, it seems that a Ferrari 458 was caught speeding down East Coast Road in 'not-safe-for-speeding' weather. The driver subsequently loses control of the vehicle as he attempts to accelerate, swerving left and right across three lanes before hitting an SBS bus and losing its rear bumper. Ouch! These two drivers are pretty ballsy to race along the MCE, where numerous speed cameras lie in wait to catch speedsters. For those who are not familiar with the speed limit on the MCE – it’s 80km/hr. Cyclist invents his own 'Grab Hitch' with a SBS bus and lorry

What went down Just yesterday at 1:05 pm, a video was uploaded onto YouTube featuring a cyclist trying his best to keep up with traffic along the roads of Woodlands Avenue 7. Now, I’ve seen cyclists do some dangerous stuff before, but this is my first time seeing something of this nature. Honestly, I’m surprised that he even has the muscle strength to cling onto his ‘rides’ while cycling at a high speed. Based on the comments, we can only assume that the cyclist was performing motor pacing – a form of training for competitive cyclists where they draft behind a pace-controlled vehicle. While it is legal for cyclists to cycle on the road (given that they follow the proper safety regulations and wear a helmet), motor pacing is often used as an advanced technique for highly skilled cyclists. This cyclist, on the other hand, did not seem to be a competitive cyclist and was not properly equipped with the right gear for such training. Netizens’ reactions While this cyclist got off perfectly unharmed from his ‘grab & hitch’, what he did was incredibly dangerous and could result in a potentially fatal accident. TL;DR – Cyclist flies into a rage and blocks traffic when cam car driver honks at him. Yet another road rage incident by a cyclist who thinks he owns the road. I’m all for keeping fit and healthy. If people think cycling does that for them, I’m no one to judge. But, when it starts to endanger the lives of others, we need to draw some lines. Let’s take today’s video for example We have a cyclist who raises his right arm, indicating he would like to turn right. Under the rules and guidelines for cyclists, there’s no wrong there - 100 points for you sir. But why did he not check for oncoming traffic from behind? Putting up your hand does not automatically give a cyclist the right-of-way to ‘suka suka’ change lane and endanger other road users. You still need to check your blind spot for cars, yes? Even when you’re driving a car or riding a motorcycle, you still need to check your blind spot for vehicles if you signal left or right to make a lane change or a turn. And why so angry? The video has no audio, but from the body language of the cyclist, it’s pretty apparent that the cam car driver honked at the cyclist. The cyclist proceeds to get off his bike, obstructs the cam car and challenges the driver to come out to confront him. Comments This cyclist deserves an A for effort at following the rules and regulations but going through the motions without situational awareness is a fail. Till the next one!
