Caught an Audi A8 with zero road etiquette along Lower Delta Road

I guess money can't buy proper road etiquette, can it? On 5th May 2021, a short video was posted on Facebook of an Audi A8 driver driving recklessly along Lower Delta Road. It's so bad that I even experienced some serious second-hand embarrassment from watching it. For those of you who cannot stomach the video, I am going to provide a play-by-play description of the incident below. So, we start off with the camcar driver, who is innocently drives along the road and slows down when approaching a red light at a traffic junction. He stops behind a black Audi A8, which continues to inch forward past the white line with total disregard to the red light. The driver continues to try his luck and even attempts to turn right while there's traffic coming from both sides on the adjacent road. As if realising that there's no way the universe will let it turn right, the Audi suddenly reverses and almost hits the camcar. Once the lights turn green, the Audi wastes no time zooming ahead without stopping at the right turn pocket. The driver positions the Audi dangerously near oncoming vehicles as if asking for an accident to happen. The Audi edged so far into the lane with oncoming traffic that it even made a silver vehicle stop dead in its tracks to avoid a collision. To carry on forward, the silver car had to manoeuvre itself around the Audi in an awkward fashion. If you thought that was all, think again. There's more! When the Audi driver saw an empty pocket of space, it sped off to complete the right turn, but there were two oncoming vehicles that could have crashed into the Audi if they had gone any faster. Netizens quickly took to the comments to voice their opinions (with some speculating that the Audi driver is either drunk, high or does not have a driving license): Simplified translation: 'You have to wait for death if you want to reincarnate, what's the rush?' On Monday (May 31) at around 4:25 p.m., a 14-year-old male cyclist met with a fatal accident with a Malaysian-registered trailer along Marina East Drive. According to the CNA article, the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. He had been riding a fixie bike, also known as a fixed-gear bike or a brakeless bicycle, which meant that the bicycle did not have any brakes. The Ministry of Transport announced the ban of such bicycles on public paths and roads in January this year. The 37-year-old trailer driver has been arrested for careless driving causing death. The photographs of the accident site posted onto SG Road Vigilante's Facebook shows the mangled bicycle torn into pieces. A screenshot of the trailer driver's outstanding traffic police fines was also posted on Facebook, showing that he had an unpaid amount of $600 from 2019. We offer our deepest condolences to the cyclist's family and hope that both drivers and cyclists will take more caution while on the road.

Just another day in Yishun - woman lies on the road, motionless and silent

In a recent post on STOMP, we find a woman lying down in the middle of the road looking up at the sky. She was initially sitting down along Yishun Avenue 5 before lying down. This unusual incident occurred in front of a bus stop at Block 732 Yishun Street 72 on Monday (May 31), at around 8.40pm. And here are some comments from the stomper who uploaded the images on STOMP. We don't know whether this is an isolated incident or a recurring one so if you're in the Yishun area, please drive with caution and don't mistake the lady for debris. We don't want another hit-&-run case like yesterday's Shiba Inu incident (refer to post below). Personally, I feel sad for the lady. She might some mental issues that requires medical attention. If anyone encounters such incidents, please react graciously. You never know what the other party is going through. -

The whole island was hit with a heavy rainstorm yesterday, with some experiencing more than just a heavy downpour. From this minute-long video, it seems that a Ferrari 458 was caught speeding down East Coast Road in 'not-safe-for-speeding' weather. The driver subsequently loses control of the vehicle as he attempts to accelerate, swerving left and right across three lanes before hitting an SBS bus and losing its rear bumper. Ouch! Netizens' reactions to the incident: This video ticked off a lot of netizens as they expressed their contempt for the Ferrari driver's dangerous decision: Although the Ferrari did not cause any major harm to other drivers on the road, it is crucial for drivers on the road to remember to slow down and be extra cautious as Singapore enters its next monsoon season in June. Driver looking for Jaguar F-PACE to privately settle damage costs

To the owner of this black Jaguar F-PACE, someone is desperately looking for you. Earlier today, a video was posted online showing a cam car driver bumping into the back of a black Jaguar F-PACE in the KPE tunnel on 19th May. The owner of the cam car is currently reaching out on social media platforms to locate the Jaguar driver to privately settle the damages. Both vehicles were driving on Lane 2 when they noticed that the lane was closed further ahead due to another road accident. The Jaguar driver signalled right to filter to the extreme right lane but was unable to fully enter the lane. As a result, the cam car driver couldn't stop in time and ended up hitting the back of the vehicle. Due to the heavy traffic conditions at that time, the cam car driver signalled the Jaguar driver to meet further down the tunnel to settle the insurance claims for the incident. However, as he continued driving in Lane 2 and stopped further in front, he was unable to find the Jaguar driver (who was supposed to appear from his right). As such, the cam car driver had to take the Lorong Halus exit out of the KPE and continued to his destination. According to the cam car driver, he filed a police report that day and he is willing to pay the Jaguar driver for the damages that he caused. Adults behaving like children over a parking dispute

TL;DR – A man and a woman harass another couple over a parking dispute in Yishun. No one was hurt, but their childish behaviour is mind-numbing. Just another day in Yishun - Two men and two women engaged in a road rage dispute over parking. Before I carry on, please have a look at this 61-second video. What an ugly start to a video The video begins with an unattractive (to me) lady making faces and flipping the bird at the occupants of a Toyota Altis. From the article published on STOMP, we understand that this was in response to the cam car couple trying to park their car next to these two crazies in a Toyota Sienta. Crazy 1 (C1) Tf is wrong with this crazy? YOU HAVE A CHILD WATCHING WHAT YOU’RE DOING FOR GOODNESS SAKE! Crazy 2 (C2) Then we have this guy who comes out to challenge the cam car driver making stupid noises and acting like a monkey. Uncle, you look like you’re 60. WTF you doing? This is you right now. The uncle even tried to snatch the phone from cam car driver. Online Chatter All four of them are assisting the police with investigations. I say, go back to Primary school please. -
Are E-Unicycles allowed on our roads? No, if you are wondering. Under the Active Mobility Act in 2019, only bicycles and e-bikes are allowed on the roads while the rest of these devices need to remain on footpath. But that's obviously not an issue to this errant powered-unicycle user spotted on the 19th of May 2021 around 11:14pm at the junction of Toa Payoh Lorong 4 and 5. The cam car driver was annoyed at this male user and high-beamed him when he turned into Toa Payoh Lorong 4. He beamed the e-unicycle rider again when he casually crossed the road as if he was a pedestrian, ignoring the camera car as he did so. Cool ah bro? TL;DR - An EVO and a GTR duke it out along the MCE to see which is the faster car. Is there any doubt which would win in a race? Let’s find out in this 13-second video that we found on Beh Chia Lor's Facebook page. Spoiler alert If your money was on the GTR. You’re absolutely right! What about speed cameras? These two drivers are pretty ballsy to race along the MCE, where numerous speed cameras lie in wait to catch speedsters. For those who are not familiar with the speed limit on the MCE – it’s 80km/hr. These two cars are definitely going way past 80km/hr. Online chatter Err. Okay can. RIP. LOL. WOW. I didn’t even notice that till I read this comment. Super observant.

TL;DR – Cyclist flies into a rage and blocks traffic when cam car driver honks at him. Yet another road rage incident by a cyclist who thinks he owns the road. I’m all for keeping fit and healthy. If people think cycling does that for them, I’m no one to judge. But, when it starts to endanger the lives of others, we need to draw some lines. Let’s take today’s video for example We have a cyclist who raises his right arm, indicating he would like to turn right. Under the rules and guidelines for cyclists, there’s no wrong there - 100 points for you sir. But why did he not check for oncoming traffic from behind? Putting up your hand does not automatically give a cyclist the right-of-way to ‘suka suka’ change lane and endanger other road users. You still need to check your blind spot for cars, yes? Even when you’re driving a car or riding a motorcycle, you still need to check your blind spot for vehicles if you signal left or right to make a lane change or a turn. And why so angry? The video has no audio, but from the body language of the cyclist, it’s pretty apparent that the cam car driver honked at the cyclist. The cyclist proceeds to get off his bike, obstructs the cam car and challenges the driver to come out to confront him. Comments This cyclist deserves an A for effort at following the rules and regulations but going through the motions without situational awareness is a fail. Till the next one!

'Rabak' cyclist berates driver for not spotting him at zebra crossing

Here's something that happened in Fernvale you have to see. According to this minute-long dashcam footage, on 2nd May 2021 at 8:51pm, a driver is seen turning left into Fernvale Link and stopping at the last minute when he realised that there was an oncoming cyclist at the zebra crossing. Despite giving way to him, the cyclist glares at the driver, stops in the middle of the zebra crossing and gets off his bicycle to hurl vulgarities at the driver (we presume according to his aggressive gestures). The poor driver waits for him to finish before completing the left turn and continuing his journey. After watching this video, my heart goes out to the driver as I understand the pains of driving at night. Firstly, it's already dark so it's harder to notice pedestrians and cyclists from afar. Then, there's the issue of the cyclist not having a front light and wearing dark clothing, which makes him harder to spot. Lastly, even when the driver stopped in time, he still kena scolded. Netizens have also taken to the comments to defend the driver and flame the cyclist: With one guy even suggesting that the driver should have just continued driving: What do you guys think? Instead of slowing down, the vehicle unexpectedly spun out of control and ended up facing against traffic. And if that wasn't scary enough, things nearly went south for both the motorcyclist and the dash-cam driver as the lorry stops abruptly. They managed to stop their vehicles just in time to avoid a one-way ticket to heaven. It was speculated that the driver was speeding with balding or worn-out tyres – something that should have been checked and fixed by the driver or the company before the vehicle hits the open road. How do I know if my tyres are worn out? According to this guide, it shows how vehicle tyres would look like under certain conditions, of which all of them would increase tyre wear faster than normal. Although I’m unsure if the lorry’s tyres were misaligned or wrongly inflated, it is always important for drivers to inspect their tyre pressure and threads once every few weeks on top of the mandatory yearly check. Cyclist avoids death at junction along Bukit Timah like a whizz-ard

Just when you thought that things could not get any more ridiculous, Singaporeans will never fail to disappoint. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you today's magic trick: a cyclist with a death wish. It's pretty jaw-dropping even if I say so myself. What went down Despite this video only being 46 seconds long, I re-watched it no less than 30 times! While all the cars on the 5-lane junction wait patiently for the lights to turn green, this cyclist shoots pass the red light onto oncoming traffic adjacent to the five lanes. Like everyone in the office who watched the video, I thought he wouldn't make it, but somehow, he did! Just to clarify, I do not condone or approve of such behaviour. He could have caused heaps of trouble for many people besides himself. He almost knocks down a couple of pedestrians I counted three or four cars that could have collided with him AND A BUS If you thought he got into an accident and the camera did not manage to capture it, watch till the end of the video. you'll spot him cycling along the road with not a scratch on him. Consider my mind... BLOWN. Is he some kind of immortal being? TL;DR – Ang Moh cyclist harasses Lexus RX by cycling in the middle of the road, obstructing its path and swerves between cars dangerously. Here’s another reason LTA should come up with some sort of SOP for cyclists to make them accountable for their actions. In this 70-second video, you can see the male cyclist cycling recklessly to harass the Lexus driver. Putting not just himself but other motorist in danger. Cyclist vs SUV The cyclist blocks a Lexus RX on the first lane along River Valley Road near Liang Court. Honestly, I’ve watched the video like twenty times, and I still have no idea whatafrak the cyclist is doing. 1. He’s cycling without placing his hands on the handlebars of the bicycle 2. His chest and stomach are exposed (eww?) 3. He raises his right hand as if indicating he’s turning right, but he doesn’t turn right Where it happened Just in case you’re a little disoriented and unsure where this incident took place. What’s the trigger? It looks like the cyclist was trying to indicate that he wanted to turn right on Mohamed Sultan Road, but the Lexus did not allow him to do so. In response, the cyclist gives the SUV a shove and dangerously swerves through the cars in front to get ahead of the Lexus and block the driver’s path. Chitter Chatter It’s just a matter of time. There are cyclists out there who abide by the laws. Please don’t ‘sabo’. Thanks.

TL:DR – A BMW 2 Series convertible goes over a small, unassuming pothole/manhole that causes its rear end to flip up, lose some parts from its undercarriage and swerve into another lane. It's incredible how a small pothole/manhole can cause thousands of dollar's worth of damage to a car. Here's an example recorded on a video forwarded many times on WhatsApp groups. From the footage, we know that this incident happened on 11th April 2021, Sunday around 5pm. As to where this is, I have a feeling it might be somewhere around Woodlands. But, if you have any idea, do let me know, and I'll update the article accordingly to warn fellow road users where to avoid. Update: Thank you everyone who identified the location. It's in Yishun. Poor BMW If you hit the pause button upon the point of impact, you'll notice that bits and pieces fall out from the undercarriage of the 2 Series. That’s as unlucky as this guy I reckon those parts are not going to be cheap to replace or repair. The pothole/manhole This image circulated together with the video. I'm assuming the cam car driver got out of the car and snapped a photo of the pothole/manhole.

BMW Driver steals carpark lot successfully, but parallel parks like a clown

TL;DR – BMW driver steals a parallel carpark lot from another BMW by edging headfirst into the small vacant lot. The result? Video footage of some crap parking. Here’s a 47-second video of a Beemer stealing a carpark lot….from another Beemer! What’s happening? Here’s a rough breakdown of what’s happening. The 3 Series (car at the back) tailgates the 1 Series (car in front trying to park). Both their hazard lights are on. As the 1 Series tries to parallel park by reversing in, the 3 Series drives headfirst into the lot. Yes. Headfirst into a small parallel lot. The 1 series driver then comes out of the car to confront the 3 series driver (the conversation is inaudible, so we cannot tell what they’re saying to one another). What could have caused this? While we don’t know what happened before the recording starts, some people mention that the 1 Series could have been the culprit and not jump to conclusions. It’s a BMW. Not a VW. Head-in parallel parking I don’t know about you all, but it’s just cringy to watch. Yes, I understand the 3 Series is trying to get the lot before the 1 Series reverses in, but it doesn’t change the fact that it irks me, especially when you see the 3 Series stuck at an odd angle in the parallel lot. Online chatter Wah. This person raging siol. Are you the 1 Series driver? ‘B’rilliant. Honestly, most cars these days come with a dashcam installed. P-Plate VW Passat driver flexes lousy driving skills for the world to see

TL;DR – VW Passat P-plate driver gets mad when he gets honked at for not stopping at the stop sign. Goes all aggro on cam car in front (with high beam and unnecessary lane cutting). Question: What’s worse than a P-Plater who doesn’t know how to stop at a stop sign? Answer: An angry P-plater who doesn’t know how to stop at the stop sign. What did you learn at driving school? I don’t know about you, but when I was learning how to drive, I’m pretty sure failing to stop at a stop sign was an immediate failure. Then we have this Passat driver, fresh out of driving school with his p-plates, not applying what he learnt less than 12 months ago. Here’s the video Wow, the audacity of this one Cam car gives a warning honk to the P-plater to avoid a collision. But that doesn’t sit well with the P-Plater. He proceeds to tailgate and highbeam the cam car in an aggressive manner. If you thought that was all, towards the end of the video, P-plater swerves out of the lane, speeds up and cuts into cam car’s path like a maniac. Am confused What confuses me the most is that P-plater swerves back to the right lane after all that recklessness. Making him look like not just a prick, but a real noob-#$%^ driver. Loving the comments Lots of wise words from wise people. I really hope the TP sees this video and nabs this guy. -
Fierce Beyblade battle occurs on fast lane between Toyota Prius and Toyota Dyna

Good morning everyone! Singapore may be small, but we are never short of exciting incidents. Let's take this battle between a Toyota Prius and a Toyota Dyna for example. Resembles a Beyblade* battle to be honest (minus the spinning). *Beyblade is a Japanese anime about spinning top toy battles If you watch the video, you'll notice that the Prius was not on the first lane initially because there were two large trucks obstructing traffic. The Prius obviously did not want to give way to the lorry and charged forward. A normal person would hit the brakes upon impact, but not this Prius. The lorry and the Prius continue scratching each other's paintwork for at least a good three to four seconds! What was the lorry doing though? Crazy driving by the Prius aside, the lorry, being a goods and commercial vehicle with a speed limit of 70km/hr should not be on the fast lane. So, what happens when it comes to insurance claims? Do you know the story of David and Goliath? Well, if you don't, long story short, it's a story of a small boy who defeats a giant man with nothing but a slingshot. We have a Singapore version. Let's take a look at a short clip of a food delivery cyclist engaging in an argument with a bus driver driving a SBS bus. Unlike the David and Goliath story, no slingshots were used but, in true blue Singaporean fashion, lots of pointing and cursing ensued. This incident makes me think of the upcoming movie of Kong vs Godzilla (not a sponsored post. I really want to watch it though). The only difference? Both Kong and Godzilla are comparatively equal in size. This food delivery guy's bicycle pales in comparison to the bus to be frank. My take on this incident With all these dash cam cameras on the road these days, you're bound to end up online if you engage in such negative behaviour. So, what's the point in getting so worked up for? Lucky for the cyclist that this altercation was just a verbal one. Imagine if it had become physical. The internet would 'pang no chance' with this guy. Unfortunately, we cannot hear what the food delivery guy says to the bus driver. You can make your own assumptions but, from the body language, I'm quite sure it's a colourful conversation. "Thank you for giving way" 🤣 - They should put this sign next to the bus driver

A careless driver makes a pedestrian fly but acts like he couldn't care less

A video uploaded on Roads.sg of a car hitting a pedestrian has garnered over 10,000 views in a relatively short span of time. This happened at the junction of Tampines Road and Hougang Ave 1. Think it’s near the Punggol Nasi Lemak. The video might be disturbing to some - Before hitting the road, the pedestrian literally gets flung up in the air. If you get uneasy watching such things, you probably shouldn’t watch it. Here’s the video courtesy of Roads.sg How serious is it? Wait till the end of the video, there’s a close up version of the incident. The video cuts off a few seconds after and we cannot tell the extent to the injuries. Who’s at fault? Screenshot taken from Roads.sg Youtube Channel Judging by how nonchalant the pedestrian was at crossing the road and how the guy in white behind him was about to cross as well, we can safely assume that he had the right of way. Cars would have to wait for them to cross the road before continuing on their merry way. So this is the driver’s fault. The driver's response time rabak As soon as the poor fellow landed on the ground, the guy in the white t-shirt rushes over to check on him. Perfectly normal human behaviour. If you thought that was all, nope. The driver WALKS, yes, WALKS over with no sense of urgency whatsoever. Not a care in the world and probably irritated that he will be missing what he was rushing for in the first place. What will the driver kena? Warning: This article is intentionally biased and opinionated. If you are too uptight to see the lighter side of things, please click the back button on your browser and select another post to read. I am sure that there are many things that irritate, frustrate and tick us off when we drive on Singapore roads. Here is the top 5 list of motoring related things that get me just that little bit hot under the collar. 5. Leeches Largely harmless but very irritating, leeches are non-drivers who believe that drivers owe them a duty to send them home. Now, this does not include close friends or family members, just those acquaintances who insist on hitching a ride even when it is out of the way. Now, I bought my car so I can save on traveling time. A MRT ride home takes 45mins from town, a drive takes 25mins. What appears as a slight 10min detour actually significantly erodes into the purpose of buying a car. Leeches fail to understand that sending them home is a FAVOUR not a DUTY. Sending them home means I am a nice guy. Not sending them is hardly selfish. 4. Road Hoggers Do I really need to say more about this unique breed of motorist? This motorist lives in a world of his own and is oblivious to others around him. Crawling comfortably at his own pace along the fast lane of the expressway and ignoring the tailback of vehicles behind him. Sometimes I really wonder, do they have impenetrably thick skin? How can someone be so unabashedly inconsiderate? Do they feel no shame, holding everyone else back, slowing everyone down? It is hardly surprising that road hoggers deserve a spot on my list. 3. Poor Carpark Design Another major irritant. Now, this is not because I am a kayu driver who has a problem navigating poorly designed carparks. This irritates me because designing a good carpark is not rocket science. You don't need any special skill or talent. You just need to use your brain and think about it. I often get the feeling that if the designer or architect had bothered to even think it through just that little bit more, the carpark would definitely have been much better. Instead, the carpark often seems to be an afterthought, designed by some unpaid intern. Anyone working as an architect or developer care to tell me why? 2. Congestion/Bad Traffic Bad traffic. I am sure this is a common peeve among motorists everywhere. No amount of ERP or measures by the government seem to help. There seems to be congestion at all sorts of places, occurring for a multitude of reasons. Being stuck in a jam is definitely no fun, making this common gripe number 2 on my list. 1. 'Kiasee' Motorists This type of motorist errs on the side of caution just that little bit too much. He jams on the brakes the moment the car in front so much as taps on the brakes. He insists on leaving more than the required safe distance between vehicles. He slows to a crawl before taking a slight bend or taps on his brakes repeatedly while making a turn. To be safe, when approaching a fixed position speed camera, this motorist slows to way below the mandatory speed limit.
