  1. To show how much you love your country? And ditch the embarassing "Asian-white-man-wannabe look" by wearing an England shirt?

  3. My family is actually Malaysian PR and recently my mother has been in a dilemma as to whether she should apply for Singaporean citizenship.. My dad's name has been used for my uncle's stuffs in Malaysia so he thinks it is troublesome to transfer the name here and there. However I've tried the online eligibility assessment tool and it says that we are not eligible for Singaporean citizenship (applicants are my 2 sisters, one in p6 and one in sec 2, my mother, and me). I think it's because of her low salary of about 500 dollars per month. But yet there are some friends of my mother who encourage her to apply for citizenship since 3 children are applying at a go.. some claim that having more children to apply for citizenship at a time increases the chances of a successful application. So I'm just trying to seek some opinions and advices here, to see whether there has been cases like mine which have (hopefully) succeeded before. Thanks

  5. Just came back from Orchard. Finished my 大鸡排 from CK Tangs, and want to find a bin to throw. WTF, cant find a single bin outside DBS/UOB ATM. This is not the first time i encounter this bin-less. I happened to have a smoke break at Marina Square after dinner, then want to throw away the butt, but could not find a bin, so bo pian, litter bug i am. Walk near the electronic door, also cant find the bin, frustrated so throw near the glasses, i ensure no people see me do it. Government cannot blame me, as they are too protective against terrorist, and have removed 90% bins away from commercial building, and shopping malls. I am wandering if i am ganna caught for littering, is my reason valid for not able to find a bin. lol.
  6. It had been widely publicised in the press that many Singaporean had been conned in MY over the scratch-and-win scams and still Singaporean still falling for it. I had posted once is this threads of several couples been conned at the car park of Makotar Parade, Malacca in the form of lucky draws & scratch-and win. Its happen again on Monday, this time at a petrol kiosk in Johor Baru. As reported in today New Paper and last Monday Sin Min Daily. The report: His holidays made him poorer by $6,500/-. All because Mr. Zhang, 40, a Singaporean businessman, fell victim to the "scratch-and-win" syndicate. Mr. Zhang was approached at a Johor Baru petrol station (name not given) just as he was about to drive back to Singapore. He said that a Chinese woman in her 20s approached him, asking if he was interested in taking part in a lucky draw. He agreed, thinking there was nothing wrong with trying his luck. He scratched a card that the woman gave him, and it revealed a picture of several cars. The woman congratulated him and asked him to follow her to an office near the petrol station. At the office, a man claimed to be the woman colleague told Mr Zhang that he stood a chance of winning a PDA, a car, cooker hoods, television sets and a trip to Japan. Mr Zhang was told that if he paid RM15,000 ($6,500) for taxes and fees, he would have a chance of winning four cars. Believing the man, Mr Zhang made payment with his credit card. When he scratched the booklet, it showed he had won only four cooker hoods. The man refused to give a refund, saying that Mr Zhang was unlucky and could not blame the company. Paying $6,500/- for 4 cooker hoods...... Its show that the man is either plain ignorant or boh chap attitude as he believe that it will not happen to him. Ignorant is out as he is a businessman and should able to think and make decision. So......... it left to his attitude that misfortune will not happen to him or blinded by the 20s years old ..... Also reported that billions reaped in annual profits as millions of consumers cheated in MY.

  10. JB NIGHTMARE FOR SINGAPOREAN. Confusion over tinted windows, coupled with his fears of car-jacking landed Singapore LW Sim in a Johor Baru jail. His is a shocking lesson for Singapore drivers who ay not know that tinted windows which meet with the LTA's requirements could get you into trouble in Malaysia. This is because Malaysia has stricter laws on the amount of light that must be able to pass through tinted car windows. Mr Sim, 29, found this out the hard way when he refused to let JB police impound his car for further checks. He was arrested and place in a police lock-up. The sub-contractor was later charged in court with obstructing justice and jailed a day. Mr Sim had driven his 3 year old Honda Civic to JB for a shopping trip on 11 Mar. At about 6.30pm that day, he was approached by a traffic policeman in a car park near City Square, s shopping complex at Jalan Wong Ah Fook in JB. He was waiting for his two Malaysia friends, who were withdrawing money from a nearby Maybank branch. Mr Sim recalled:

  12. You've plenty of japs, causcasians of course, but WHY isn't there many famous singaporean racers? The reason I can think of is the culture, cost of cars (such that only the richer can dabble in these stuff), and probably a lack of racing places... Any, semi-pro/pro RACER bros out there explain this phenomena?
