    Tires size

Hi all. I'm going to change the shoes for my car soon. But still deciding on the size for it. Currently she is wearing 215/50/17. If I change the size to 215/45/17, will the car be lowered but the gap between the fender and the wheel be larger? How about 225/45/17? Is it having the same effect? Currently the car felt higher in the front than the back and the gap in the front is about 2.5 finger apart while the back is only about 1.5 fingers wide. So can I use 215/45/17 in front and 225/45/17 at the back? Any expertise comment? Thanks
  3. Dear Experts here, I have 2 questions hopefully someone can help clarify. Say as our tyre size gets smaller due to wear and tear : 1. Will the speedo meter show higher or lower speed compared to when tyre is new ? 2. Will the milage meter shows more or less km travelled than the car actually travelled ? Thks
  4. I have seen the 175 to 235 tyres all uses the same thread design. The water grooves are same width. Shouldn't smaller tyres 175 have narrower water grooves, as there is lesser volume of water to push out from the smaller footprint? Sometimes I wonder how the tyres thread are designed for wide or narrow tyres? The reason is same thread design on different sized tyres do give different results. Which is why nowadays, the tyres test must state the tyres size and whether front/rear wheel drive.

  9. My car comes with a stock tyre 225/50/17. Considering changing to CSC5 if price is "affordable". However, seems that they only have 215/50/17 or 225/45/17 - No 225/50/17. Is it safe to fit either 215/50/17 or 225/45/17 in this case? Any trade off? Thanks!

  11. Looking for an small to mid size MPV with sliding doors. The likes of previa and pressage are out due to budget. Looking at the following. Small 1. Toyota Sienta 2. Honda freed Mid size 1. Toyota ISIS 2. Mazda 5 3. Nissan Lafesta 4. Honda Stepwagon Leaning towards more the mid size due to space and not much more money. Of course FC is a concern, so stepwagon might be out, but then it seems to drive quite well. Would like to seek comments.
  12. I would like to post this question to any forummers who are toyota wish owners and has done ice installs with amps, do you change or upgrade the battery? I checked the battery tray and found that it is slightly bigger than the battery and the space in the engine compartment is congested. A bigger size battery seemed to be out of the question, do you install an extra battery at the boot and run a charging cable from the alternator to the extra battery? Or replace the small battery to a higher voltage battery lke a deep cycle battery?any comments welcome. Thanks.
