Hi guys, Am driving a 2008 Wish NFL. It's a second hand. 5 years old this year. Mileage abt 90,000K if it has not been tampered before (haha.. we all know abt dealers lowering the numbers.. anyway...). Since I got the car 2 years back, havent change anything on the brakes till now. The car is stock stock condition. Here's my problem : - Screeching sounds coming from rear of vehicle whenever i tap the brakes. (definitely not the front brakes cos I poke my head out of the car to listen when driving. Slow speed though) - Applying light brake.... screeching comes on continuously. - Applying harder brakes.....beginning there's a slight screech, then it's gone till the car comes to a complete stop. - Applying brake when reversing... no sound (probably because it's too slow to create any noise) Anyone driving same ride and encounter this problem before? What needs to be change, the damage, any workshop to recommend, contacts? SG or JB workshop also can so long as it's economical and trust worthy. If not convenient to post here, can PM me. Any recommendations welcome! Along the way, also though of doing a general servicing plus checking of aircon... not sure it's the weather or car, it just feels not as cold when you need it. Haha.. Encountering a screeching sound everytime I downshift to gear 3 at speeds above 50km/h. However, at speeds under 50km/h, when upshifting to accelerate, no sound. Sound only comes when changing gear at 50km/h or higher. Same sound as when didn't engage gear properly but release clutch. Gear can be engaged. Just got screeching sound thats all. Only gear 3, no other gears got this problem. Does this usually become a big problem quickly? Or do I have some time before the car becomes totally not safe to drive. Gonna get to WS asap if its urgent but will wait 2-4 weeks for parts from stockist if this problem can wait. Honestly I not too sure whether get from stockist and bring to WS will save money at all man... Ran a search on gearbox and no one seem to have open thread about similar symtoms before...

Got my very 1st ice kit yesterday Problem is there's an intermittent tek tek tek sound which is quite annoying It happened about 4 times in a single song play both cd and radio Went back audio shop today, courtesy of the shop they change another new pair of speakers but it still happen Can pls help advise where could possible went wrong This is what I had installed yesterday Pioneer front components Pioneer rear 2 ways Pioneer woofer Pioneer amp Pioneer hu Thanks for any input

Hi guys. Need advice. Driving an Edix. Wife accidentally damage side mirror by hitting it trying to squeez in between car and pillar. Now its not working anymore. But got this buzzing sound coming from the side mirror like a motorised sound running and turning. Where can i get it fixed? Got lobang anyone?

Hi guys, i drive a toyota wish 2008 model. Notice when i am driving, the rear wheel seems to create a helicopter (vom-vom-vom-vom...) sound even what i am driving straight. The sound gets louder as i increases my speed. I have check there's no foreign object on my tyres, the air pressure is right. Is it some sort of wear and tear thingy? Anybody encountered before and what has been quoted and replaced? It's not causing any hazard but i am just ignored by the vom-vom-vom sound. Hope its just a small fee to fix it. My wife mention she notice the sound after i replace my rim and tyres. Not sure if it's linked. Any help appreciated

Recently went for servicing; changed engine oil, oil filter and alternator. Funny thing is after driving for about 10 mins onwards, I will hear a squeaking sound from the steering wheel when I turn in either clockwise or anti-clockwise rotation. This is abnormal because it was OK before the servicing. The squeaking sound is like rubber rubbing against each other due to friction but I cannot be sure. My dad is saying the mechanic might have over tightened something. Anybody here has experience with this problem? -
My aircon has been doing the darth vader ever since i replaced the aircon clutch and topped up the gas and aircon oil. it was quiet before the change but now there is a very audible hissing sound every 1 minute.... does this mean there is not enough gas? is it causing much strain on my compressor? should i go get it topped up immediately?

When I was driving today, I could hear squeaking come from the front suspension. This only happens today when I go over the speed hump on the road but it doesn't happened everytime. Shock absorber change to Kia Koup absorber about 6mths ago. my car mileage is close to 90k and car coming to 4 yrs. Any bros have this problem now or previously can advise??? Is it drive shaft, ball bearing,rubber bushings problems??

Anyone have this problem before? Am having a Honda Civic 1.8A 2007 make. Strange thing is when I step the brake slightly, the knocking sound gone and come back again when brake is released. Able to replicate the problem most of the time. Just did servicing 3-4 weeks back at a workshop.

Recently when I was turning my steering wheel, I could hear a "tok" sound occassionally. What could be the cause?? Bushing?? I'm driving a Kia cerato forte with electric powering steering. Also, can anyone tell me when to change the suspension bushing?? my ride is quite harsh especially driving past uneven road (rocking heavily). I have just change my shock to koup shock but my spring is still stock. I know koup shock is a bit harder which may causes the harsh ride but is there any way to improve it. ?? No coilover please...

Went to test drove a Mit Colt Plus 2007 and realized there's clicking sound when i turn the key to 1st point when there is only electric supply, before engine ignition. it's a set of rapid "thiak thiak thiak", wondering is it normal for a mivec engine?

Hello fellow drivers. My Aveo sedan is in it's 7th year. Lately I have been hearing this 'cricket-like', screeching sound. The sound comes from the drivers side because it is louder when I wind down the window as I drive. It doesn't seem to be caused by braking because it comes sometimes during acceleration, coasting, braking, or even going slight humps. The sound is noticeable at speeds of 50km/h and above. At idle or very slow speeds, the sound is not present. Again, I stress, the sound does not show up regularly but it will definitely show up after some time of driving (20 minutes or more). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

hiii my car at 1500rpm, funny crank sound or half clutch(auto gear box), i suspect something happened during the atf change, just change and run in 10k, current 150km, this workshop quite a dissapointment when comes to servicing those real problems.. i just encountered this one..i am first owner, so wanna see how first owners ride thru the 7 years, maybe then i do another car purchase.....i do the 2000 rpm, and onwards all super smooth, cvvt, etc.low rpm at 1500rpm also very smooth, except this 1500 mark...issit i never give enuf petrol to the metal head..? also need a super experience mechanice ear to pin point the exact prob.. i believe and know they can tell...cos ... u know u know...no need guess one...its mechanical. -
my Altis stock stereo system is below average at best, the CD player (playing MP3) is very soft (and if turn to loud, gets distorted) and the radio is also very poor, the bass is non existent and only have distortions and crackling sounds...but when i connect my Samsung S2 to the Aux input (just from earphone output) and play with full volume, suddenly the sound from the system is much much better. The bass is quite good (for my standard, which is quite low), my rear view mirror can shake but there is no distortion from the doors or any crackling sound, only when pushed further until body can feel shiok (by then a bit too loud liao), then the distortion will come...the clarity is much better.....not bad for a stock player, by itself is really crap (downgraded from below average liao) but with just a simple input from external player its now 'good enough'. really dont know why like that. If i am not too embarrassed, can play Gangnam dance full blast!!!!!

I measured the sound level of my Altis with a sound meter and got the following readings.. idle ~45-50 db cruising at 70km/hr ~ 60-65 db revving to accelerate (to 5k RPM) ~ max at 70 db (on passenger chair) 76db at my feet. is that normal? now looking at sound proofing..saw the e-rev website, show that they can reduce sound to 50++ db (from 80++ db..i assume this is for sports car). no need to spend $$ on quiet tyres that would not last long anyway.... incidental i use my Samsung S2 to measure the sound levels the reading is 5 db higher (idle and max) so not bad for a phone, can use for comparative measurements.

I know sound travel by the transferring of mechanical energy from atom to atom. And i also know sound travels faster in denser material for example, sound will travel faster along along a steel pipe faster than in air. so my question 1) when i am under water in the swimming pool, and my friend outside of the water shouts at me - why is that i cant hear him so well? i thought sound waves should travel faster in water? 2) when my and my fren are underwater in the swimming pool, my friend yells are me. why is that i cant hear well either? as compared to if he yells at us when were are both on land

Have been asking around about this in the other thread (thanks soya) but to gather more insights, I will set up this thread. Recently, my car is giving out this humming sound (ok at low kmh, and higher kmh) at 60-90kmh. My car is also giving out this klak klak sound if my steering is turned to the extreme. Humming sound gets louder is go on bumps. This humming sound is not so evident if my car is turning right, ie weight distribution more to the right side. It is very obvious if weight distribution is centralized or more towards the left hand side. As such, I suspect that something is wrong with the bushings, shaft, bearing at the left side (front) My qn is, are both this klak klak, humming sound related? And what's the difference between bushings, shaft, bearings? Which one should I change?

Recently my car have this problem, when i cross over hump up and than down the hump, there is a "tok tok" sound. but driving straight road no problem. This sound particularly come from the front right driver side. Could it be the absorbers time to up lorry? Any bros have similiar experience and can advise what could be the problem? If its wheel bearing will there be such problem?

Recently service my car, 08 altis 1.6 change engine oil, oil filter, iridium spark plug and install hurricane filter. Perviously car quite rough jerky (took over car from brother) which change after service. Service qt autobac with their idemitsu oil 5w30(sorry if wrong spelling) plus flushing. Car wa super smooth initially but now (2000 km later)got low rumbling sound when accelerating (like sports car). Funny thing is the car is movibg smoothly and no jerking...shiok at first but now is a bit irritating. Got very slight vibration also when accelerating. accelerating. Idle the car got no vibration...only accelerating. Try put on neutral and rev a but the sound and vibration is there. Engine oil is still full and good ( got a bit black black). What can be the problem?

Hi friends, 3rd time I am hearing this sound when braking. the sound come directly from below my brake pedal when i depress on the pedal. All three times different circumstances. I remember 1st time down slope i brake hard the sound come out... few seconds. 2nd time same slope, but brake gently but the sound come out. today 3rd time level road at tuas.. smooth braking... sound come out.... The best I can describe the sound is ..."KKKrkrkrrkkk" haha... really like metal heavy friction with metal.... Anyone know what happen to cause the sound???

Recently started to hear a whirling sound when doing hard braking. Any gurus to advise on why? Sounds kicks in when braking hard at high speed of 90kmh and above. No sound when braking at slow speed. Car is a Nissan Latio. 80,000km mileage. Will bring to mechanic, but just wanted to get a pre-diagnosis.
