  1. i am looking to reduce road noise from my car, i hope to drive my car for another 4 years. Am looking to sound proof the floor plan, wheel arc and 4 doors, maybe double layers. I know that cheap is no good and good is no cheap, any bros here could recommend me a reasonable priced workshop where i also could get some advices? Thank you.
  2. Hi bros..any recommendation or advic e for wheel arches/fender soundproofing? Using foam type material.
  3. Hi everybody, I have this problem with my car on the right door that create a wind noise when I am driving at around 100km/hr. I understand from some people saying that by pasting sound proofing strip it will remove the sound. But I checked my car. And I feel the black strip of rubber that is suppose to insulate the car from noise still look very new. Is it going to work by pasting on top of it? Any bros here can recommend me a place to troubleshoot or do up the door insulation. I know that a company S***** is charging $40 for the door. I am comtemplating to go there to do if it really can solve my noise problem. Any commends?thanks
  4. Frustrated by that resonating door panel? Or are you irritated with external noises or distortion from the speaker panel? Most existing builds of cars have soundproofing materials in them but they are not enough to deliver the sound reduction that is up to expectation. This article aims to provide you with a reliable solution for this very problem. What is noise and noise pollution? The definition of noise itself is highly subjective. To some people, the roar of an engine may be satisfying or thrilling but, to others, it may be annoying. Loud music may be enjoyable or a torment, depending on the listener and the circumstances. In general, any form of unwelcome sound is noise pollution, whether it is the roar of a jet plane overhead or the sound of a barking dog a block away. Noise pollution is, hence, not easily defined. Part of the difficulty lies in the fact that it is different from other forms of pollution in some ways. One measure of pollution is the danger it poses to health. Noise causes stress, and stress is a leading cause of illness. Therefore, any form of noise can be considered pollution if it disrupts the activity or balance of life and in worst cases, causes annoyance, sleeplessness, fright, or any other stress reaction. What is soundproofing and what are its benefits? Soundproofing is the process of lowering the intensity of a sound by surrounding the source of the noise with noise absorbent materials or surfaces. Any means of reducing the sound pressure with respect to a specified sound source and receptor can be considered as soundproofing. There are several ways to reduce sound and in the case of soundproofing for cars, it is the treatment of a surface to create a barrier to stop noise from passing through this barrier to the other side. Whether it's a Mercedes-Benz or a Kia, all cars can benefit from extra sound proofing. The important thing about sound proofing is that the amount of external noise and vibration is greatly reduced. A quieter journey, less distraction, and an overall more comfortable environment are what you can expect when you start sound proofing your car. Sound proofing will make any car trip feel like a million-dollar joy ride. As for car audio enthusiasts, sound proofing is critical. Nothing will spoil your sound more than a resonating panel, or a vibrating door frame. NoiseBlock BY-BDS 10 NoiseBlock BY-BDS 10 is a product specialty of UK-based firm NoiseStop Systems Singapore. This product originated from the NoiseBlock range of specialised soundproofing building materials for use in everyday construction projects. It was then realised that this technology could be explored in the field of automotives as consumers wanted silent, peaceful and noise-free environments in their vehicle cabins. More notably, these materials are also supplied for use in Singapore Airlines' Boeing 777 aircraft for soundproofing purposes. Advantages of NoiseBlock BY-BDS 10 NoiseBlock BY-BDS 10 is one of the best products on the market for treatment of noise control in automotive, industrial, marine, and aviation industries. This latest advancement to the BY-DS series features an improved elastic compound mixed with viscoelastic polymer binder as the compact layer. The core objective is to convert the energy of noise into heat, and at the same time, quench vibrations through its elemental abilities. This is then laminated to a Metallic Aluminium Based Dampening Sheet to take conduct of any flanking noise and then dissipate its energy across the surface of the material. The final layer comprises of an Ultra High Density mixed polymer noise absorption professional grade foam. This unique combination cannot be found in other products which fail to match up to the performance of NoiseBlock BY-BDS 10. Some of these products include Blu-Tack painted black with aluminium foil or Black Blu-Tack with aluminium foil and plasticine. These bogus products do little to insulate your car and cost insanely high prices. In comparison to conventional damping sheets coated with bitumen, NoiseBlock BY-BDS 10 offers improved density and better results together with the advantages of having fire and mould resistance properties. With the improved composition, NoiseBlock BY-BDS 10 has effective adhesion properties and thus can be applied on any metal surfaces of vehicles to reduce or remove vibration related issues. Besides reducing vibration and noise, NoiseBlock BY-BDS 10 also improves acoustic performance by increasing decay rate. Decay rate is the speed in dB/second at which the vibration reduces after panel excitation has ceased. The application lead-time is only three hours with a lifespan of two years. NoiseBlock BY-BDS 10 also comes with a six-month warranty. The NoiseBlock BY-BDS 10 is available for sale at only $45 per piece. Each piece measures at 1,000mm x 500mm and is 10mm thick. Full installation prices range from $680 to $860 for a small to medium-sized sedan. Why NoiseStop Systems Singapore? NoiseStop Systems Singapore boasts an extensive portfolio to its name. 9. http://www.asiaone.com/News/The%2BNew%2BPa...930-239839.html Driver thought cyclist she hit was tree branch HER car rammed into a cyclist from the rear so hard that he flew and hit the front windscreen, cracking part of it, before rolling onto the road. But Cleopatra Wong Yuin Ping, 30, thought the body that smashed into the windscreen was a rotten tree branch that had fallen. She did not bother to stop and continued driving her car along Holland Road. Wong was also unaware that her victim's bicycle was stuck in the undercarriage of the Lexus ES300 belonging to her father, despite the noise of the bicycle scraping against the road. The bicycle was dragged for about 2km before it was dislodged. When Wong, who was a teacher then, reached home, she went to bed. She realised something was wrong only when she woke up in the morning and found out that the police had towed away the five-year-old Lexus. Taken to court over the accident, Wong claimed that the soundproofing of the Lexus was so good that she thought the "sounds" she heard were caused by the tree branch. Last month, she was fined a total of $2,400 - $800 on each of three charges - and disqualified from driving for a year. She had pleaded guilty to inconsiderate driving, failing to stop after an accident and failing to render assistance after an accident. The court heard that Wong was driving home along Holland Road at about 5.15am on Oct 19, 2008, when she hit the rear of a bicycle ridden by Mr Muhammad Asri Aris.
  10. hi guys, for some reason, my amplifier seems to be faulty after a recent accident and i doubt i can actually make a claim for it. was thinking of going for an active subwoofer, those type under the seat. was told to go for 10' as it is better than the 8'. would like to check if i should go for it? as i was told by a friend those active subwoofer is pathetic.. only give minimum bass sound.. might as well invest in a pair of good rear speaker.. car is small, no room for sub in rear. lastly, would like to do soundproofing for wheel fender. any good recommendation or cost to look out for? or i should actually go jb and have it done.

Later did I found out that the sound proofing material inside the door panel has fallen out thus the sticky bitumen faced the window panel. Question 1)I paid $250 for (2layer x2)from a reputable shop in Singapore in 20/12/06. And the material so call is the best in their range. Is it normal for it to drop out. 2)What is the option do I have. Take out everything and repaste again? Will it drop out again. Thanks for the advise. May go down to the shop to see what will they say since it has been 1 year plus going to 2 years.
