  1. Dear Bro and Sis Am appealing for witness who saw the accident stated below: 11/06/08 08:10 at X-Junction of Changi South Ave 3 and Xilin Ave. On the a/m date and time,I was making a right turn from Xilin Ave into Changi South ave 3. Suddenly a taxi traveling in the opposite direction collided headon onto my left side of the bike.I was flung off on impact. I was conveyed to the hospital due to injuries sustained. As I have to picked myself up, there were no cars or anyone to help me or stop to assist me. The taxi had a passenger inside. Thus I am appealing for any bro or sis who saw what happen to be a witness to this accident I have. The only car I remembered was a White Mini Cooper Behind me. I hope the driver could help me as a witness as it was just behind me when the taxi banged into me. Or any one who saw what happen. Many thanks in advance.

  5. Posting at Lite and EZ would be an understatement. So i wanna share my close encounter on the North South Highway during my return trip this Sunday afternoon. Was driving on the middle lane of the 3 lane highway and following other vehicles at a slow pace (est bet 80/90kmh or lesser) during a heavy downpour at Malacca. The visibility was poor, at most one lamp post. Just then, saw a Hyundai Tucson overtook on my left at a very high speed, within seconds, i notice on the left lane ahead, a pair of headlights, turning in circle! OMG it's the same vehicle that had just overtook me on my left. It was spinning out of control. I pray very hard that it won't spin into my lane. My friend was traveling in another car just behind me. My heart rate jumped, I told my passenger that a car had spanned out of control and to brace for impact. The car did not skid into our lanes, but landed on the ditch next to the left lane. It flip several times before it came turned turtle, immediately white smoke was steaming from the engine bay (most probably is rain water evaporating from the hot engine). The only thing i could do was apply brake to slow down, not jam brake as the road was very wet, doing so could have caused my car to skid. This all happened in split seconds and by that time i had passed by the accident vehicle. Phew, I can't imagine the consequence had the car skidded into our lanes. It would have caused a chain collision and serious injuries to other road users. I immediate warned my friend on the WT, he replied he's OK, He saw the car in the ditch and someone had pulled over to help the victims. At first, i had cold sweat, but later turned to anger. The visibility was poor already due to the heavy down pour, imagine the car going at break neck speed in this condition is akin to driving blind folded. How can someone be so irresponsible to continue to drive a such high speed in bad weather conditions! Please Drive Responsibly
  6. Last weeknight, there was a Vios that spun and ran its backside up a lamp post or tree along South Buona Vista...... looks like either black or blue, OPC car. Got two cars, Honda Jazz/Fit and something else next to it, plus TP WRX. Another racing Vios challenging the downhill Touge and lost
  7. Dear bro/sis One helpful MCF bro have spotted this White mini along the stretch of road where I was involved in an accident on 11 June. Hopefully this is the driver as White mini are rare in Sg. http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/General_C1...h_Ave3_P2407116 If any bro or sis who knows this driver. Please help me pass the message that I am looking for him/her to assist in this accident. I have posted in Stomp and cars + bikes forum, trying all means to search for assistant. Even though I got "suan" but I will still try to seek for assistant in this investigation. Sms or call me or PM me through MCF. Thanks.
  8. Posted in the following blog on Monday, 7-July-2008 http://blog.limkitsiang.com/2008/07/07/nor...ghway-3rd-lanes Cross reference : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lebuhraya_utara-selatan North-south highway 3rd lanes I am a frequent user of our North-South Expressway and I have this IMPORTANT experience to highlight and share:- I was driving back to Penang yesterday afternoon ( 24 June 08 ) when I saw the unfortunate accident in the opposite direction involving the passenger bus that skidded and overturned at Tanjung Malim. I didn't know that the skidded bus was from hometown Penang until I watched TV3 news later in the evening and was shocked to learn that the accident took two lives. Now, this is what I need to share:- I am a building contractor with over twenty years of experience and I have been driving my 5 series BMW (latest generation and a dammed solid road-holding car) each time I travelled to KL. Lately, the new extended 3 lanes highway had been opened up for use and since then, I have also been using it quite often. HOWEVER, when I used it each time it is WET, I can really 'feel' that the new road surface is extremely SLIPPERY! To share with some of you, my car comes with a built-in traction control mechanism ( skidding prevention mechanism ) and you can feel it each time it is activated. Previously, I don't come across this kind of slippery feel except when I drive over a paddle of water at certain speed. From my observation as a building contractor, the 'wearing course' of the new road surface could be TOO FINE OR TOO SMOOTH and TOTALLY UNSUITABLE for highway use! The wearing course ( top premix layer ) mix design for highways should be of minimum 20mm coarse aggregate mix that will give us the required bond between the surface and our tyres. Fine wearing course ( 14mm coarse aggregate size and below ) is only suitable for normal road. ( A proper test need to be carried out to determine the mix design of the wearing course ). Since the opening of the three lanes highway, I had seen cars skidding in front me or in the opposite direction and approximately 2 weeks ago, one of my friends who is also a frequent user of our NSE, came to share with me about his slippery feeling as well as the many skidded cars he had seen lately. I am highlighting this to TV3 and The Star with the hope that a thorough investigation could be carried out immediately to find out how or what causes the bus to skid. A proper and independent test need to be carried out urgently to determine the design mix of the wearing course. THIS CAN SAVE LIVES. IF YOU ARE USING THE NEW LANES AND IF IT IS WET, MAKE SURE YOU DRIVE SLOWLY!!!!

  13. COE prices continue to head south Prices continue to fall across the board in the latest tender, with the premium for bigger cars posting the biggest drop. -ST Wed, Dec 05, 2007 The Straits Times CERTIFICATES of Entitlement (COE) prices continue to fall across the board in the latest tender on Wednesday, with the premium for bigger cars posting the biggest drop. That premium for cars above 1,600cc dived by more than $3,000 to end at a 10-month low of $13,114. The COE for cars up to 1,600cc fell by more than $2,000 to finish at $12,001 - again one of the lowest this year. The Open COE, used mainly for cars, was down by around $1,500 to end at $15,501. Commercial vehicle COE closed at exaclty $13,000 - about $1,400 lower than its previous rate. Even motorcycle COE ended lower at $1,012 - from $1,052 previously. Motor traders said the market was quiet, as the year-end holidays and an absence of new mainstream models kept buyers away. Bids for the above-1,600cc category were just 15 per cent more than the supply of COEs, reflecting a weak order bank. In the last round, they were 19 per cent above COE supply. Car agents are expected to cut prices in response to the lower premiums. Toyota distributor Borneo Motors for instance, has slashed prices by $2,000 all round. The reduction is expected to stir some interest, which means premiums in the next tender - the week before Christmas - should rise.
  14. To wherever in MY This is a poll to see the max speed you've done. Another boring Sunday with a poll
  15. Just back from NSE and still got dozen of construction roadworks both way . Saw this cute Traffic Warden. From far at high speed looks like a real warden.
  16. On Wednesday evening, my car had a weird sound. When the car goes slow, it sound "tok... tok.... tok". This morning, I discoverd there was a big nail in my front left tyre. From Jurong, I went to the shop (near Upp BT) to get my tyre repair. Last time, they removed the nail from my old car for free although I wanted to pay them. Pulling the nail and patching the hole costs me $30 without wheel balancing. $30 is for 18inch rim and $25 is for 17inch rim as this machine will not scratch your rim. ok.. I requested them to do wheel balancing. They said it is okay not to do wheel balancing as long as the rubber and rim were in the same position. Hence I accepted their logic. On my way back to office, my car (not steering wheel) is vibrating at "high" speed. After office hour, I went back to get it fixed. They found the rubber and the rims were not in the same position. Hence, they decided to do wheel balancing for me. After they installed the wheel, I found some tiny scratches at the circumference of the wheel. I thought it was oil. Then I went to pump the petrol at the nearby Esso station, I confirmed they were scratches. So I went back to complain (softly) about the scratches, they told me they will not scratch the rim and they sold more than $10k of rims before. I'm ok with it as it is difficult to prove but I show my unhappiness. Then a guy (more white hairs) told me that I should go back to the installer and we are offering just the service for you as you did not install the rims and rubber from us. This sentence really made me mad. Anyway, just to vent my frustration......
  17. Ex Ford-club guys, Any Ford (or any other car) member want to meet up today for lunch? Marina South ~12:30?
  18. If your car breaks down along KL north-south highway, whom can we call for SOS for help? I heard their local workshops and tow truck may rob you with their exorbitant bills, else your car gets compounded in their garage.
  19. Hi guys, Any idea if parking at Marina South Night on Sat is FOC or coupon based? Thinking to go there for Steamboat. Thanks.
  20. Dear all I am looking to import a brand new or relatively new, used less than 2 years twin cab pick up into Salaam, South Africa. I am looking at the Hilux SR Turbo or Vigo or the latest Mitsubishi Strada or Storm. I've tried Toyota Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. They are not willing to help to do the import as they have a global agreement to sell direct to their respective distributor/dealers. I've approached a few local parallel importers as well and they are not able to help even to to bring into the EPZ before exporting out to Salaam. Anyone here knows of anybody who is able to help? Thanks in advance for any help rendered.
  21. As above, any tried before? Need your advise. By the way i am on SS7 5w20.
  22. Recenrly I need to go to Marina South from ECP towards AYE then continue my journey towards Tuas, but I can't find a way from Marina South to join ECP/AYE towards Tuas , can anyone give me a way how to continue? many thanks
  23. Come across this at LTA's website: http://www.lta.gov.sg/corp_info/doc/MVP02-...0by%20make).pdf If I didn't get my facts wrong, CA took over the Skoda brand from JTA arnd 2002 & sales seems to be falling since. Y2000 - 101 Y2001 - 258 Y2002 - 84 Y2003 - 85 Y2004 - 61 Y2005 - 60 Y2006 - ? It seems that CA is not helping the brand at all (definitely not with the reported selling price of Octy II !). Any comments anyone ?
