  2. I think he makes himself silly by complaining. This really shows the selfish and kiasu mentality of the writer (perhaps Singaporean too) I believe everyone also likes to have that exit seat with the extra leg room. He makes it sound like he is doing the airline a fovour by taking up the 'unpopular' seat where he has to shoulder the responsibility of opening the door during emergency. http://news.asiaone.com/News/the%2BStraits...0815-82433.html Budget air: Extra charges get ridiculous Fri, Aug 15, 2008 The Straits Times WITH recent increases in oil prices, airlines are devising ways to up their revenues against surging costs. This is particularly apparent among low-cost carriers (LCCs). Measures include charging for use of blankets and pillows, extra baggage and unusual-shaped cargo. I can understand this, as they are all related to costs. However, I am quite perturbed that airlines such as Tiger Airways and Jetstar charge passengers who ask for seats in exit rows. My problem is that exit rows are there for specific reasons, particularly related to safety, and if seats are available, they should be treated as regular seats. These seats are not comfort seats - in fact, one row does not even recline like regular seats. They have more space in front because it's a regulation, not so LCCs can regard them as luxury seats. Let's call a spade a spade. Besides, passengers in these seats have to assist in the event of emergency landing. Perhaps LCCs would like to charge for use of oxygen masks and safety belts? After all, it can be argued it's a privilege to be alive. Yes, I'm bordering on ridicule, and so are these airlines. Most times, I believe taller passengers would ask for such seats, so charging is discriminatory. LCCs are caught between a rock and a hard place. With all the surcharges, they aren't really that low cost, yet they have to maintain this 'budget' tagline. Make no mistake, budget is the key word for your passengers. Please rethink this exit-row seat surcharge. You only make yourselves look silly, by calling a necessity a luxury, and a regulation a comfort. Liu Tact Yew
  3. I need some storage space since I will be moving out until I find a new flat. Any lobang for cheap storage space estimated 3m x 1.5m? Thks.
  4. Youtube has about almost anything you want. I point you to this: I've read about these crossovers at alt.rec.startrek long ago when there wasn't any WWW yet. They were imaginative and very entertaining to read. After seeing this Youtube, all I can say is OH MY GOD!..... Not in many yahrens has a flood of tears filled my eyes! Here is another one. I bet heavily on the Imperial forces. Star destroyers are not destroyers. They are more like floating mini Death Stars. Good luck Galactica. Here is another one below: Completely brings the geek out of me. Star Wars vs BSG vs Star Trek vs B5.
  5. Hi Bros, My laptop is IBM X61. At Windows Explorer, if I right-click "Properties" on C drive, the laptop will tell me that I have used up >126Gb of disk space. However, if I were to select all the folders and files in C drive and right-click "Properties", the total file size is <71Gb. So, there is a discrepancy of about 55Gb of disk space. It can't be due to System Restore, since I have disabled it. How do I recover the missing disk space? Thanks
  6. Sedan or hatchback is easy to organize and store your stuff?
  7. Pictures taken from Space-Station on our mother earth during the night. Enjoy those pictures.
  8. Hello all, I drive a Suzuki Swift and you'd probably know the boot space is pathetic. So I cannot afford space for a sub-woofer box. I've heard of active sub, which is the size of an amp that I can install beneath the front seats. I wonder if active-sub is good enough or better than the traditional setup of a sub-woofer box in the boot? And do active-sub cost?
  9. anyone has lobang for the a/m ? like.. addons, diy nets/racks or something

  11. I'm planning to rent a 3 door Getz in Perth during the June hols and wonder if any owners can tell me the size of the boot and interior: 1) Is the boot space large enough to contain 2 large sized luggages? 2) Can the car sit (other than driver), 1 adult and 2 kids comfortable at the rear (considering that I will have a baby seat in the rear also). 3) Is the ride comfortable? Thanks!
  12. Mazda5 Space Wagon to be launched at 2004 Paris Motor Show Mazda Motor Corp. has issued the following press release: Mazda Motor Corporation will use this year's Paris Motor Show for the world premiere of its all-new space wagon "Mazda5" (European version). Mazda5 is the company's fifth new-generation global product, following Mazda6, Mazda2, RX-8 and Mazda3. Fulfilling the promise of the Mazda MX-Flexa concept revealed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, the new Mazda5 will put packaging innovation and driving enjoyment into the space wagon segment around the world. Designed from the inside out, Mazda5 will provide space wagon comfort and a unique "6 + One" packaging concept that provides flexible space in the vehicle's center. As such, individual markets will be able to configure the vehicle for up to seven passengers or provide seating for six with additional storage capacity. In line with Mazda's Zoom-Zoom promise, Mazda5 will deliver a fresh exterior design with two, wide-opening sliding doors and driving dynamics that customers have come to appreciate from all Mazda new-generation vehicles. Four powertrains will be offered to satisfy diverse global needs-two gasoline engines and, developed specifically for European markets, two versions of a common-rail turbo diesel engines.
