  2. Anyone knows where to find LTA compliant detailed specs of Traffic lights ?
  3. Hi guys I am currently using tyres 225/65/R18 and is planning to change the front two tyres soon. I called up one of those workshop and was recommended to change the front two tyres to 235/60/R18 instead. That would also mean a difference of $60 for two tyres. My question is whether is this recommended? Will it hurt the car in anyway? Thank you.

  7. McLaren has released full details on the MP4-12C and the model's specs are definitely in line with the uncompromising performance that the supercar-maker has promised. Under the mid-rear bonnet is the M838T power plant in the McLaren MP4-12C - a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces a total of 600 PS (441 kW / 592 bhp) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. The MP4-12C does the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 3.3 seconds (3.1 with special Corsa tires) and has a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph). 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) comes in at 9.1 seconds, 8.9 with the Corsa racing tires. The MP4-12C's MonoCell carbon-fiber chassis, which weights only 75 kg (165 lbs), helps makes for a sprightly vehicle that could weigh-in as low as 1301 kg (2868 lbs) with the lightweight options that McLaren will make available once the model goes on sale. Transmission on the MP4-12C is a seven-speed SSG gearbox which offers three drive modes: Normal, Sport and Track. The MP4-12C also comes with adjustable roll control, which replaces mechanical anti-roll bars, and the new supercar features a suspension control module with 3 modes too, Normal, Sport and Track, just as with the transmission but which acts independently of the gearbox setting. "I am immensely proud of the 12C development team. I don't believe any car company in the world has put as much effort, innovation, passion and sheer determination into launching a car as McLaren has with the 12C...Both in simulation, and in the real world on road and track, we have gone to extremes to ensure the 12C stands up to the performance and quality we know our prospective customers demand," said Antony Sheriff, McLaren Automotive's Managing Director, in a statement. McLaren is currently still testing the MP4-12C with four prototypes having gone on the road for further tests in Portugal and Spain just last month. The MP4-12C will be available through a network of 35 retailer locations in 19 countries at a price of around $229,000 in the US and about
  8. We've seen the Lancia Stratos in spy photos and official videos, but we haven't seen the spec sheet - until now. The modern day revival packs a 4.3-liter V8 that produces 540 PS (397 kW / 533 hp) and over 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque, thanks to a remapped ECU and a high-performance exhaust system. It is connected to a six-speed sequential gearbox which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.3 seconds, 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.7 seconds, and hit a top speed of 274 km/h (170 mph). Furthermore, the Stratos rides on a shortened (by 20cm) Ferrari F430 Scuderia chassis and boasts a full carbon fiber body. The latter enables the car have a 44:56 weight distribution and an overall weight of 1247 kg (2,749 lbs). Other highlights include include Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, a roll cage, and 19-inch wheels with Dunlop Sport Maxx tires. Source: new-stratos.com
  9. hi all, would like to ask does the specfication of the 0-100km/h timings provided by manufacturers accurate?
  10. McLaren has revealed the MP4-12C supercar to the media today and we have a lot of the official details. The two-seat MP4-12C has a 3.8-litre twin turbo petrol engine developed in collaboration with Ricardo. Maximum power output is a blazing 441 kW (592 bhp / 600 PS) developed at 7,000 rpm. The engine can rev all the way up to a dizzy 8,500 rpm. Its peak torque rivals some of the most powerful turbo diesels out there at 599 Nm (442 lb-ft) from 3,000 rpm. Apparently 479 Nm (353 lb-ft) of that is already available from 2,000 rpm. Performance figures are not available yet but expect 0 - 100 km/h figures in the very low 3s and a top speed well over 300 km/h (186 mph). Torque goes to the rear axle through a 7-speed double clutch gearbox prompted by F1-style aluminium rockers situated behind the steering wheel. It offers a choice of Normal, Sport and Track driving modes. There's also two configurations namely H and P. H refers to handling and changes things like steering weight, suspension stiffness and stability control. Choosing P mode alters throttle response, gearshift times and engine sounds. Because the car is so compact (4507mm long, 1908mm wide, 1199mm high and with a wheelbase of 2670mm) and thanks to a carbon composite monocoque, plus a claimed dry weight of less than 1,300kg (2,866 lbs), certain advantages are there for the taking. The main one is of course better performance, but there is also the small matter of C02 emissions. McLaren Automotive reports a figure of under 300g/km, significantly lower than its key rivals, the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Inside the latest gadgets and goodies can be found, including a 7-inch touch screen and Wi-Fi connectivity.
  11. The variable valve-timing obsessives at the Temple of VTEC have scored a leaked brochure of the 2011 Honda CR-Z, and in addition to getting a glimpse of the production version of the hybrid hatch, some specs and trim details were included in the document. We finally have hard figures on the 1.5-liter engine's output (in JDM spec), with the diminutive four-cylinder putting out 112 horsepower (at 6,000 rpm) on its own and another 14 hp from its electric motor. Just as importantly, the engine creates 107 lb-ft of torque (at 4,800 rpm) with the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system boosting that by another 57 lb-ft at an oh-so-low 1,000 rpm. Coupled with either a six-speed manual or CVT gearbox, the CR-Z nets a relatively uninspiring 0 to 62 mph time of 9.7 seconds. The dimensions haven't changed much from the "concept" we saw at the Tokyo Motor Show earlier this year, with a 160.6-inch overall length, 68.5-inch width, 54.9-inch height and a wheelbase that spans 95.9 inches. Unfortunately, no word on curb weight. Since efficiency is the name of the game, the CR-Z will benefit from LED daytime running lights and turn signal indicators in the mirrors, along with three driving modes

  16. Hi, I am interested to know the actual performance of these car in the real world (beyond paper specs). I think it will be an interesting thread to gather knowledge from various car owners to share their opinion. 0-100km on stock cars model: 2.5 pig nose base rex rx8 (manual/auto) 350Z DC5 Fn2R Euro R M6 MPS Volkwagen GTI Ford ST I believe these are the mid-range "faster" car and most are in the ~6sec century sprint group. In real world, assuming similar driving skills/stock car, which of those will be the fastest??? and it will be best if someone can rearrange them in order of acceleration capability from 0-100km. * only 0-100km, to disregard track capabilities etc

  23. Making it official: More Mitsubishi Pajero before Paris Posted Sep 8th 2006 12:07PM by Alex Nunez Filed under: SUVs, Euro, Japan, Paris Motor Show, Mitsubishi First, Mitsubishi gave everyone a tease of the new front end. Then, a Japanese car mag revealed full views in advance of the official unveiling. Well, today Mitsubishi finally announced the details of the 4th-generation Pajero (a.k.a. Montero, Shogun) SUV, which will be shown to the public later this month in Paris. The updates work nicely, giving the big Mitsubishi a crisp new look even though though its dimensions are fundamentally unchanged (this is a refresh, not a full-blown redesign). Under the new sheetmetal, the interior gets cleaned up and upgraded with goodies like an optional 860-watt Rockford sound system. Mechanically, the Pajero is now available with a new 3.2L CRD 4-cylinder or 3.8L MIVEC V6. Both are connected to a new 4WD system. The Pajero's off-roading tradition is reinforced annually at the Dakar Rally, and Mitsubishi also revealed the latest iteration of the Pajero Evolution racing off-roader. Though it has visual appeal, don't plan on seeing this car in the US. As we've stated before, Mitsu has pulled the plug on the US-market Montero with the 2006 model year. You have to wonder how it would do anyway, given the presence of the good-looking new Outlander and the larger (but not so good-looking) Endeavour. Both of those are probably better equipped to meet the every whim of most potential customers, whose off-road excursions are seldom at best. We can appreciate it from afar, though. Especially the sporty 2-door, which we've liked since the days of our youth, when the boxy Montero/Dodge Raider could only be had that way. (Photos, press release after the jump) [sources: Mitsubishi, World Car Fans] 2007 Mitsubishi Pajero: 2006 Mitsubishi Pajero (for comparison): Press Release: World Premiere for the next generation of Pajero (European market specification) at Paris Motor Show - 2007 Dakar Rally Pajero Evolution also unveiled - Tokyo, September 8, 2006 - Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) is to give the new global standard SUV Pajero* (European market specification) its world debut at Le Mondial de l'Automobile 2006 (Paris Motor Show 2006) to be held in Halls 1-8 of the Paris Expo porte de Versailles from September 28 (September 30 for the general public) through October 15. More than 2.5 million Pajeros have been produced in the approximately 25 years since the first generation was launched in 1982. Sold in over 170 countries and regions today, Pajero has earned enormous popularity as a sport utility vehicle boasting outstanding durability and endurance that enable it to deliver safe, secure and comfortable performance over any and all types of road surface. Debuting at the Paris Motor Show, this Pajero is the fourth in the series. The latest Pajero offers reliability forged in the crucible of grueling competition and use under the harshest conditions to be found on our planet. It retains the all-round SUV specifications of its predecessor, as seen in its approach angle, ground clearance and other all-terrain performance parameters. New features that distinguish the fourth-generation Pajero include: A powertrain applied a new 3.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel with common rail direct fuel injection or a 3.8-liter V6 MIVEC*1 gasoline unit. A 4WD system comprised of the sophisticated Super Select 4WD-II transfer case while both ASTC*2 and the rear differential lock available - developed on the bedrock of MMC's All-Wheel-Control (AWC) concept and delivering significant improvements in both off-road and tarmac performance. Tastefully designed dashboard and interior complemented by high-end equipment such as Rockford Acoustic Design Premium Sound System
