Dear MCF Bro and Sis, MY new Honda Civic ( 1 month old ) paint started to peel off at the side... about 2 cm long paint... examined the part did not find any chip off signs or anything... it just peel off like tat after 1 month... somemore at the edge of the joint... can anyone advise me what i should do? Actually this afternoon i went to Kah Motor Body repair n paint center before i fly off to Malaysia ( Actually in Malaysia now ) At first when i show this to the manager, he start to say these which really piss me off... Manager : No lah Bro! this is the wax left over lah... u know new car all got wax one and some of it struck at the joint area gap one... u can rub away one u know... Me : But hor, i can see the exposed metal liao leh ... not wax leh... Manager : U see huh... i rub away ... ( Begin to rub... then more peel off paint came out ) Manager : see ... Wax only... Me : u sure wax is Black colour meh???? ( my car black in colour ) Manager : MMmmmm.. ( begin to keep quiet ) Me : So u sure it is wax only??? Manager : mmm yar it is paint.. but strange hor why new paint will peel off?? Manager : I ask my guy to touch up the paint for u... ok? Me : Huh?? touch up?? New Car leh ... No warranty meh?? somemore peeling off... will leave scar leh.. Manager : Touch up will be fine lah... But then i insist no.. then he said ok leave my car for one day on the 9/5/2005.. he then ask his guy to fix up... but when i ask him is it respray all bumper he refuse to comment n just said dun worry his guy know what to do... I worry he only do touch up... what should i do then? Do u think i should make a complain to Kah motor?? Only 1 month old car leh... so heart pain...
  2. check with you guys whether you experience this with your Honda VTi. today my 3yrs old Honda Civic VTi cannot start. even after i off the air cond and double check transmission and headlights are ok and off, still cannot start the engine. by this time, i was getting cold sweat . then i took out the key, re-insert and turn the crank.....wah-lah....the engine comes to life !! i do not know what happen. everything seems OK. there is no difference before and after i took out the car-key. initial i thought the fuel injector is not working or the electronic choke is somehow stuck... anybody got any idea ??! i am afraid it will happen again, so if i can do some preventive measures, better do it before it really died on me. kohks

Query on behalf of a fren (AH TAT) He is driving a VW Golf....has a Huge Capacitor poped in the trunk with a 4CH Velocity AMP and a tok gong woofer ...recently he finds the car starting a little delayed ...during ignition...Batt is still rather new ....so AH TAT disconnected the capacitor and things went back to normal - so he said.....what are the possibilities that his cap is retarding his ignition? Any Elec Enggrs around here?
  4. current my swift, needs to step on accelerator when starting engine in the morning, but at least i step once the engine starts. but i notice recent few weeks, after i off the engine n around 15 -30 mins later i start engine again, i need to step many times on my accelerator before the engine can be start, n even if start, the engine will start from like a dyin sound before gaining normal idling rpm.... any idea wats wrong? any remedy? very frustrated as engine simply cannot start after 3-4 tries though engine had already heated up 15 mins ago.

Alfa Romeo 157 More Spy Shots Spy Shots Spy Shot Archive Fewer disguises:- Alfa Romeo is to replace the recently revised 156 in early 2005, a launch which will coincide with the reintroduction of the brand into the American market, say insiders. The new car - which may well be called 158, say some sources, instead of 157, to mark a significant step forward - will be built on the so-called Premium platform developed in collaboration with Saab in Sweden. Styling will be by Giugiaro, and it will retain a clear resemblance to the current 156, with features such as the 'hidden' rear door handles remaining. However, it will be larger all round than the 156, with deeper bumpers as well as an extended wheelbase, and a steeper nose and larger grille as seen on the latest Spider and GTV models. The 157/158 will eventually come with either two- or four-wheel drive, though the two-wheel drive models will be the first to make their debut. Suspension will be by double wishbones up front and a multi-link layout behind. Engines on offer will include a GM-sourced all-alloy V6, in 2.8-litre and 3.2-litre capacities. The current JTS (direct-injection petrol) units will also be overhauled, with 1.8, 2.0 and 2.2-litre versions available; high-performance derivatives will be fitted with a twin-turbo 2.2 JTS engine, developing some 280-300bhp. For the GTA, however, the twin-turbo 3.2 V6 is said to be lined up: this could develop as much as 400bhp, according to some sources. Rumours also suggest that the Ferrari-Maserati 4.2 V8 could be offered in an ultra-luxurious variant. The JTD diesel engines will also continue, with 1.9-litre and 2.4-litre Multijet offerings, and perhaps a range-topping 3.2 V6 JTD as well. Four-wheel drive 'Quadrifoglio' Sportwagon estates will follow later in 2005, and the Premium platform will also form the basis of a 4x4, as hinted at by the Kamal concept car, and the next-generation GTV/Spider models. It will also be used for a new top-end Opel/Vauxhall (as suggested by the Insignia concept car shown in Frankfurt last month), though Saab, original partners in the design and engineering of this chassis, is said to have dropped out of further development as it will prove too expensive.   7. I got this problem recently. Usually its after a long drive. Whenever i try to start the car, it gets started then revs will drop very low. And the engine just died like that. I wonder whats the problem to this. I haven't changed my spark plugs for about 40k already. Could it be the problem?
  8. whenever i start my car in the morning, there is a weeing sound coming out from the bonnet,what i suspect is the belts, but i just change the timing belt n the rest of the belts, b4 changing those belts also got this problem, pls help!! many thanks
  9. hi skodians, since last week, when i turn the ignition key to start the car, the 'cranking up' doesn't sound very smooth and easy, in fact, got 2 occassions when i failed to start on the first try... i'm not a car/techie expert, is this a very simple problem which i am not aware of yet? could it be the battery again? but only about 1yr3mths since last change leh.... appreciate some advice and help pls:) thanks...

  11. Hi, I am a new car owner jus bought a 2nd hand toyota starlet. My engine hard to start in the morning, i have changed the spark plug already but the same problem stil exist..i will have to wait for maybe 3 mins before the engine actually starts..is this common? and when i move off although i am stepping on the accelarator the engine will like "pull back" like the car got stuck or something...can anyone help me on this? i am going to a mechanic on sat..

Hi MCF pals, new 2 tis forum, got tis problem though i wish to consult u all on .. got a 99 lancer glxi here, n recently (tis few wks) when i start up my car, there will be tis strong n heavy smell of petrol outside the car (coming from engine compartmet i think), really bothered by it .. (btw i use Shell Super 98) .. i suspect there is a blockage somewhere? izit rite? wonder if i m the only one with tis problem .. btw i changed to denso iridium about 2 months ago .. wonder if it is related? anyway thanz in advance!   13. It's wierd. After cooling down (left for more than 2 hours)....my engine will start at the first crank. Then I drive it (in the carpark - MSCP) and as I drive...within a minute, the engine starts to have fluctuations in the revolutions. It will go above 2000rpm without throttle input, and fall to almost 1000....then rise and fall....gradually bottoming out below 700rpm where the engine proceeds to die. And then it refuses to start! Yesterday..before going to the esplanade, I had to push the car into a lot, so as not to block traffic in the carpark. Thankfully, there was a lot on the level which my car stalled. I then had to keep cranking....for more than 15mins (more than 10s of cranking...then resting it for a minute.) Finally.....I decided to crank for a longer period at least 20-30s. And the engine finally starts! ....and I leave it to run idle for a minute. Then I proceed to switch it off.....and then I restart...and it starts on the first crank. We drive to the esplanade without incident. In fact..the car feels very responsive...and more powerful (I don't know why...) And after seeing the fireworks....the same thing happens ! And with the engine fluctuating again! I pushed the car into the nearest lot (up a slight slope - Marina Sq carpark) After a few more failed attempts...for some wierd reason, I decide to crank it again for as long as it takes to start....and again...around 30 secs of cranking allows the engine to start! With everyone looking at me I decided to rev the engine to see if there was any other problems. Nothing again. And we proceed home without incident....and with the car being very responsive. Anyone saw a Black Presea....intermitently speeding (way above speed limit) last night?... Anyway....I hope that it starts today Anyone with any ideas as to why it behaves like that?? Could it be....too much petrol (the fuel attendant overfilled my tank earlier that day)?
