  2. Hi, I am thinking of getting a Stream from PI, but need advice on the following: - Is the stock speakers good enough? Is the stock coaxial one or component speakers? - Is there an all-in-one 2-din DVD player with reverse camera display and GPS navigator and digital channel TV tuner system? Where can I get one and what is the price for a normal decent system? - Lastly, I also need a rooftop monitor (for back seat passengers) that connects to the 2-din HU infront. Wow, sounds like ideal setup, but think it is highly possible. Thanks in advance!
  3. Was considering this car. Can owners help to shed some light on my qns: 1. How is the FC? 2. What is the price you got? 3. How is the handling for 1.8? Is it sluggish? 4. What is the one complaint on this car? TKS.

  6. Hi guys, Anyone got lobang for installing Rear Aircon for Honda Stream? Thanks!
  7. Hu guys, from BT: Sales of Honda MPV in first 6 months hit 1,926, against the Toyota MPV's 1,866 THE Honda Stream has shot past the hitherto best-selling Toyota Wish to become the top parallel import model, as grey importers hit a record high by half-time compared to the same period last year. In the first six months, the compact seven-seat MPV model from Honda whizzed past the perennial favourite from Toyota with sales of 1,926 units versus 1,866. The Wish has been the top grey import model here since it appeared in early 2003. Overall, the Toyota brand still remained the favourite parallel import (PI), chalking up a total of 5,534 units or 47.9 per cent of total PI sales of 11,565 from January to June 2007, according to figures from the Land Transport Authority. As usual, the Honda brand continued to be the runner-up, accounting for a combined 4,601 units or 39.8 per cent of all PI cars in the first half. Together, Toyota and Honda account for almost nine out of every 10 parallel imports so far this year. By all accounts, the PI industry is headed for another bumper year. The first six months of 2006 saw sales of 7,341 units, but at 11,565 units, the corresponding period this year is already 57.5 per cent higher than last year, and is fast closing in on 2006's total of 16,137 PI units. Equally ominous is the proportion of PI cars registered against those sold by authorised distributors, represented here by the members of the Motor Traders Association of Singapore (MTA). Last year, there was one PI car for every six authorised versions. For the first half of 2007, it was 1-in-4. Already, some distributors are feeling the heat, and they are not merely confined to those that compete head-to-head with parallel importers who sell the same brand. Apart from Toyota, Honda and Suzuki (the third most popular PI brand at a distant 842 units), other marques which are being hit include the Korean and mass market European brands. Lower PI pricing is eating into Hyundai's market, for example. Together with the PI models' higher brand equity, they become more attractive than those from Korea. The competition is having significant effects too. In the first six months, Hyundai's volume fell to 3,643 units, excluding 1,194 taxis, or almost 37 per cent down from the same period a year ago. Among MTA members, its ranking also fell from No4 to No5. Some authorised distributors allege that parallel importers' lower prices are due to under-declaration of cost, insurance and freight (CIF). As lower CIF translates into lower OMV or open market value, this means that the parallel importers have a strong price advantage compared with authorised dealers. At least one distributor is fighting back. Since the domestic Stream model was introduced here last September, authorised distributor Kah Motor has decided to homologate an export version of the car which is now available here with the required technical specifications. However, the Honda Airwave (903 units) is still not available here. Neither are the Wish and Runx (743 units) from Borneo Motors Singapore. Strangely though, the third most popular PI model - after the Stream and Wish - is the Honda Fit. This Japanese domestic model found 952 buyers in the first half, even though it is an ageing model that can be bought as the Honda Jazz from Kah Motor. Pricing could be one reason, while consumer indifference could be another. A similar example is the Toyota Estima, which can be found at Borneo Motors as the Previa; and the Suzuki Swift Sport, a 1.6-litre model which is available at Champion Motors. The Estima racked up 488 units while the Swift 1.6 found 190 buyers.
  8. Saw the advertisement today? Quite a big one put up by KM. Read the wordings.. it tells me that the AD is feeling the heat of the competition from the PIs offering the same or superior ranges of Stream. Anyone has statistics to show the ratio of sales (Stream only) of KM vs PIs? I bet it is 1:>1
  9. Went down to the AD to look at the New Stream. This is based on a virgin look at the car, didn
  10. Really torn between Honda Stream and Toyota Wish. Like the looks of Stream over Wish but glamour for the bigger space in Wish. I am closing to deciding on Stream but would like to know how the Stream X and RSZ consumptions over Wish. Also heard there may be a new Wish to be launched soon. Anyone seen the new Wish or know when it will hit the road? Between a Strean X and RSZ...which is better?
  11. http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-2EIWSfS0-1235.html less than 2weeks, mileage 20km!!!
  12. I gg to decide b/w the 03 MPV,just that NOAH is 8 seater. One of Toyota's first applications of its new Valvematic engine is in the newly-redesigned 7-passenger Noah MPV and its slightly differently-visaged (and equally blocky) stablemate, the Voxy. Neither one will win a beauty contest anytime soon, but tastes are demonstrably different in Japan, so we'll reserve further commentary on the aesthetics and leave the rest to you readers. This isn't so much about the car itself as what's under its hood, anyway. The story here is the 2.0L 3ZR-FAE inline four with Valvematic that can be fitted behind the Noah/Voxy's stern-looking face. The specifics are as follows: 1,986cc DOHC I4 158 PS (155 HP) at 6,200 rpm 144 lb-ft of torque 4,400 rpm 33 mpg 164 g/km of CO
  13. Nice pictures. Just came across this model. Wonder if it would ever be brought to Singapore? Honda Stream new concept?
  14. This is not really an issue that affects me, however the way i see the lady drive i worry for the rest of the road users. I was coming down from depot road to alexandra road towards AYE entrance with this new stream on the right. after the turn into alexandra road, i was in lane 3 while she was in lane 2, just half a car in front. she signalled trying to filter in my lane so that she can exit into AYE. fair enough, i slowed down and let her in although she could have sped up and enter into the ramp with 2 lanes. when we were down the ramp, she was ahead of me. in front of us was 2 SBS buses. if you guys know, this ramp with 2 lanes will merge into 1 lane before joining AYE, so this stream was at the side of the bus at the merging lane, at the same time, on the right of her was a mixer truck. when i saw that from behind, i thought she will slow down as there was 2 BIG vehicles sandwiching her. then she did the unthinkable; she squeeze through the space between the bus and mixer truck resulting in the mixer truck force to drift right of his lane. this lady driver is the most gung ho i have seen so far, dunno she crazy or wat imagine the mixer truck dun give way or if there was a biker on the right of the mixer truck, she would have indirectly cause an accident.
  15. hi, going for my 44k servicing soon, can use 5w20 engine oil on my 2yr old 2L Honda Stream? never go North to chiong, only for local use, engine rev to 4k rpm max at times niah... thanks
  16. Hi all, a review on Stream by BT: GOOD things sometimes come in small packages, or in the case of the new Honda Stream, not quite small but compact. This seven-seat compact MPV first appeared on our roads last September as a parallel import. Its popularity soon rivalled that other best-selling grey import - the Toyota Wish. The only difference between the two, however, is that the Stream is now available through authorised distributor Kah Motor. The neat 'coupe-crossover' styling of the second-generation Stream is a big change from the old model, but the major improvements are to be found inside. Its driving position is a revelation because Honda has finally realised that not all drivers are five feet tall with no torso. There is now an adequate amount of space between the steering wheel and the seat, although the latter could still go a bit lower. The new model's wheelbase is 20mm longer than its predecessor's and, with the rearrangement of the pedals, yields an extra 30mm in legroom for the third row of seats. Most importantly, the last row has a flat floor and good toe-room, so the two back-seats can actually be used by two adults. The rear passengers don't get their own air-vents, though. Instead, a centre vent on the dashboard - called the 'upper vent' - channels cool air to the back of the car. There is no manual shifting of the five-speed automatic gearbox either. And unlike higher-end Stream models in the domestic Japanese market, no steering-mounted paddle shifts. But like all auto Honda gearboxes, this one is smooth and quick enough when left to do the job on its own. The 1.8-litre engine obviously doesn't provide mind-blowing acceleration but it is acceptable. The word 'Eco' lights up on the instrument display when the i-Vtec engine is in its most economical mode. Honda says that when this happens, the 1.8-litre unit is operating with the fuel economy of a 1.5-litre engine and it is possible to log as much as 14 km per litre during highway cruising. As an export model, the Stream has certified Euro 2 reliability compliance for its engine and transmission. Compared with the parallel imported version, it also has rear disc brakes, an immobiliser and a security system. The Stream was conceived as a versatile and easy-to-drive utility model and those goals have largely been achieved. Its steering is light at parking speeds and tightens up when going faster. The ride comfort is good and the interior quiet at higher speeds. It may be a relatively basic car, but it is a well-made and affordable little package. Bigger isn't always better, it seems. Engine: 1,799cc Gearbox: 5-speed automatic transmission Max power: 140hp @ 6,300rpm Max torque: 174Nm @ 4,300rpm 0-100 kmh: 11.4 secs Top speed: 193 kmh
  17. I have one good friend would like to purchase a mid size MPV. She is considering either to get a Wish or Stream. Both cars are built in Jap and 1.8L. Local pricing for both cars are not much diff. Any bro or sis can comments the pros and cons? In terms of FC, handling, reliability, engine, power, ... etc. Appreciate your advice!
  18. According to friend, Kah Motor SE told him that Kah Motor bringing in Stream in June. Not sure how true, anyone can verify?

  21. Anyone can advice which PI can test drive these 2 models? Have a fren that bought a wish, he say cannot test drive, so he decided to take wish over stream base on reviews. I also hear that some PI oni let you test drive after u sign the documents, what's the purpose then?
  22. In my impression, Honda Stream is a brilliant MPV, but I saw a MCF thread mentioned Toyota Wish achived a very good sale figure from 2006 Jan to Oct[thumbsup], but Honda stream has been phased out from KM list Why does Toyota always defeat Honda in same CAT products?
  23. Hi all, thinking of changing rides but can not decide which model. current ride is suzuki and very sastify with the build quality and the realibility so far (3 yrs). and service of champion is ok too. been looking on Stream for it's MPV purpose, but also always like to own an SUV. i know it's not apple to apple but perhaps car owner here can help to give feedback and opinion, i going to travel malaysia a lot thus need a safe and comfort/quiet long distance drive, cruise control is a ++, and big cargo space is a must ! 1) stream - for it's lower price and occasionally seven-seat config 2) Rav 4 - it's a toyota that i never own or drive b4, i'll not get from Borneo but PI rather....again, for it's lower price, but i need advice on reliable PI for toyota. 3) Vitara - i like the look, and i trust suzuki. but at the same time, i'll want to try other makers.... i'm yet to test drive all 3 cars but i'll..... thanks all in advance.
