  1. Had an unpleasant dining experience at the restaurant above. Booked a table and ordered the "famous" Roast suckling pig after seeing some good comments on the paper. When arrived, was recommended the set meal which also came with the Roast Pig so went along with it. When served, the roast pig was very dry and tasteless. It looked and tasted like it was reheated many many times over. Next came the most popular teochew Steam promfet, anticipation turned into disappointment because the fish wasn't fresh that spoilt the whole dish. After that, scallops with vegetables was a disaster again with scallops that were not fresh and soaked in salt water, making the dish so salty.....oh my god! Couldn't take it anymore, we asked for the captain to the table. When she arrived, she jus told us that because we were late (8pm instead of 730pm because wanted everyone to arrive and was looking through the menu), they had to reheat and so this is the result. As for the fish, she insist that it is fresh...so we suggested she try it but she refused and told us she can't do anything about it. We left the place without completing our dinner. No other explanations and apologies given...Toatal damage $570 for a horrible dinner. Will never go again.
  2. This is an interesting race.. hahah http://www.streetfire.net/video/back-to-th...ious_740982.htm
  3. Hi Anyone knows where is the cheapest season parking in Cecil Street? So far I only know Amoy Food Centre (MND building) is less than S$200/month but long waiting list
  4. Hi, is it easy to get a season parking at 1 George Street? If needs to queue, typically need to wait how long? Thanks.
  5. Yo bros/sis. I will be looking to drive to work in Cecil Street soon. I heard season parking is damn ex there....... anyone can let me know where is good to look for season parking and the costs? Or where i can get this information? In addition, is it much cheaper to park outside and take a bus or train in ah? If so, where should i get parking ? Very much appreciated for the help!
  6. Anyone tried this yet? It's so fun man... can see your house, your car... Try going to Geylang Lor 14... can see a couple of too!! Lots of people will get in trouble if their cars are outstanding and snapped in the 'wrong places' even though they blur off the faces and number plates... Have fun!!
  7. Fri practice almost start with a crash of a Renault car at the exact same turn that is the focus of a race KELONG... however, let's stick to the action on track, which has the qualifying just finished. when i thought the Brawns and particularly Button can tighten his hold on the championship lead, they messed it up big time. Button cannot get past Q2, and will start at 12th. his team mate and close championship challenger, will start 10th but his crash at the final moments of the qualifying may just bring more frown to the Brazilian, i suspect. Hamilton, as from last year, did very well in street circuit which demands a lot from all the driver. he was rather critical about the track stating it was "very dangerous" and the bumps and humps are still present with promise that it will be sorted this year. well, Hamilton welcome to Singapore... "THEY" always promise a lot and only deliver this much. if you ask me, Hamilton will be the man to watch for the race, and very likely to finish 1st.... unless.... SC is deployed for whatever reason. Red Bull Racing seems to recover from a slump. Vettel, i suspect, might just got pole from Rosberg and Hamilton, had Barrichello not crashed. dun forget 2 Red Bull teams cars got 'special' metal strips beneath their car to combat the statics that is allegedly discharged from the MRT passing below! Williams... or shld i just say Rosberg. with the similar car (i assume) one man is starting at 3rd and another at 11th shows that the driver is an important element in a racing machine. Rosberg shld very well like he did here last year ( however one has to argue that he was indirectly aid by the SC too) he showed real pace and aggression in tackling the turns wat surprised me in the Qualifying is the failure of 2 Ferraris in the Q3, and the 2 BMWs in it with a good mix of cars again in the starting grid from this qualifying, i'm sure there will be some great racing tomorrow the only issue is whether can the Marina Bay circuit provide the opportunities for the drivers to show the paying spectators what racing is really about... i hope so! and i do still hope for the sky to open up just before race start! 1. 8. http://jalopnik.com/5364443/mclaren-slr-cr...t-race/gallery/ Quote: A moron in a Mercedes McLaren SLR and a moron in a Ferrari were allegedly racing mid-day in Poland when the moron in the SLR crashed, destroying four surrounding cars and, miraculously, killing no one. It's a Crash Week miracle! The crash happened Sunday when the two morons organized a race on public streets and the SLR driver just couldn't hack it. The car crashed in spectacular fashion, sending four individuals to the hospital after destroying as many as four other cars. The driver of the Ferrari fled the scene but eventually turned himself in. To make things even more stupid, it seems the McLaren driver had a kid in the car, but our Polish is rusty and software translation hasn't quite mastered the subtleties of the Polish language. In any case, this is a big box of stupid wrapped up in stupid paper and tied together with a stupid bow. (Hat tip to Lukasz!) [TVN (translated)] *Gallery in link*

  11. Anyone remembers this street or used to live there or around?
  12. it is always claim that this is the season's most prestigious race in F1 personally i'm not too convinced.. prestigious to me have to means that it will have great close racing on the track, and not so much abt parties and celebrities... then again, F1 is a sports on Sat during Qualifying, and Sunday during races any other days/ time it is pure business Monaco F1 weekend gives teams the 'perfect' platform to entice potential sponsors and woo the current ones to dig deeper into their pockets... having said all these, Monaco is not all boring the one hour qualifying will be highly charged everyone wants to be as front as possible, that's where one can dictate pace on the narrow street circuit. the braves will drive down the road only a few centimeters from the barriers they will ride the curbs and bounced off them a slight mistake is likely to result in a DNF who will be the usual suspects for a race win? the 2 Brawns are definitely in it... but watch out for the Ferrari and McLaren. the silver arrows seems to have a nick of setting the car spot on in Monte Carlo local time: THU Practice 1 16:00 THU Practice 2 20:00 FRI parties!!! SAT Practice 17:00 SAT Qualifying 20:00 SUN Race 20:00
  13. I have a friend who just bought a car and HE has been constantly asking me how to get here or there. I told him to get a street directory but he says he prefer to ask for directions. How come there are still people who don't know or don't want to use a street directory? Is it that difficult to read a map? I feel that driving tests should have a segment where drivers are asked to navigate from point A to point B within a set time.
  14. Hi all. My friend's honda civic has been hit by some idiot at the carpark of simei street 1 block 119, just opposite east point, causing damage on the front left bumper and the part of the left side. Happened between 8am to 5pm today, 21/02/2009. Theres a S.H.E event today at east point, so i suppose there should be high volume of people and cars. Any witness/kind souls please come forward if u have seen it. Thanks so much!!! And to whoever that had hit her car, there will always be KARMA!
  15. I'm not into tracking, but dry/wet roadholding is paramount, with reasonable noise level (not so loud as to drown out normal conversation at NSH speed) and comfort taking 2rd place. I'm currently on Goodyear F1 235/40/18 but found both dry and wet (maybe because tyres has already passed half life) to be compromised. After some measured deliberation, I have narrowed down my choices to 3 tyres: 1) Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2) Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 3) Bridgestone RE050A Pole Position Prices does vary a fair bit, but I'm willing to pay if the benefits are truly worthwhile. Your assessment?

  20. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/photo/getMediumSizePhoto.do?id=25973 STOMPer Honey took this photo of a police car which had apparently hit a pillar while parking at Tan Quee Lan Street at about 5pm yesterday (July 4). "Was there a traffic emergency causing the driver to park so carelessly or an example for 'How Not to Park' by the traffic police?" http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singapor...nt.jsp?id=27311
  21. As per topic, with the rising of energy cost, shall we propose alternate street lamps to be on?This can help to save quite a substantial amount of energy and this saving can be use to help the poor or reduce our yearly tax. With our cars headlights, with or without a couple of street lamps doesn't help much.what says you?
  22. Taken from Taiwan Motor Magazine. Taiwan is also getting the VVT-I Altis, new body with old engine. Regards,
  23. happen to see this street directory book at library. looks very good. it has round corners and maps in each page are aligned very well. also the grid is much smaller in each page which makes it much easier to location small road. looks like the book is made together with AAS. unfortunately the book is not for loan. anyone knows which bookstore selling this book? think i need one because my 10 years old street book seriously needs update. or any even better street map books?
