  1. My neighbour's fierce looking Impreza's spoiler is very useful. He parks the car head in (with the back of the car nearest the gate and in the sunlight) . . then using the spoiler to (would you believe it?) HANG LAUNDRY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ** Wish I have a digital camera - then can show you how good wet nappies look.
  2. Happened to be at the National Stadium last Sat night and chanced upon the above car rally happening which was v exciting. Any of u guys/gals were there and also on yesterday Sunday ? Can give us some review of the various cars on racing and the adrenalin levels, and also the final results ? Wondering why this event was not highlighted here in this forum (many pp may not have noticed) becos many MCFers should be if they know leh...
  3. http://www.supercars.net/PicFetch?pic=2003_subaru_r1e-1.jpg Subaru B9 Scrambler The low, squat two-seater Scrambler combines motor-cycle agility with off-road competence thanks to symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and variable-height air suspension with automatic self-levelling and a ride-height range of between 150 and 200 mm. The B9 Scrambler boasts a petrol/electric hybrid engine which uses an electric motor up to speeds of around 50 mph, only turning to fossil fuel when the charge drops below a certain level.
  4. http://www.supercars.net/PicFetch?pic=2003_subaru_b9-1.jpg Subaru B9 Scrambler Designed for ease-of-parking urban use but with a sporty stance which hints at high-grip roadholding, the 2+2 R1e is shorter than conventional Japanese minicars. It uses an Electric Vehicle power unit comprising a high-performance battery and advanced power control technology aimed at caring for the environment. The light, compact, brushless motor uses a high-energy manganese lithium-iron battery which can be re-charged via a single-phase 200V AC outlet such as that used in the air-conditioning units of many Japanese homes.
  5. This new WRX will literally burn/destroy anything that tries to overtake or get in its way. Its the most powerful car ever produced to date. Its time for us to say good luck to the rest, especially the EVOs. lol!! Enjoy the pics.

  7. Anyone knows what brand/model turbo does the forrester use? Also is the local forrester using the EJ205? What is the different between JDM and local forrester? Thank you Keat..
  8. I have decided to buy the Forester XT which is my second choice after the Saab 9-3 because the 9-3 is NOT $120K as I had thought but $136k plus. The Forester is a fantastic drive - very European but at least one of my friends can't believe I would buy such an ugly car. I don't think it is very pretty but I wouldn't say it is ugly, would you? I have narrowed down to two colours, the silver which makes it look classy or the black which looks fierce and sporty but some say like a hearse. But sometimes I wonder if I should get the Rex which is about $8K more. However, my wife says no to the Rex because of the Ah Beng image (no offence to owners out there)and the Rex would also attract unwanted attention and would get stopped every single time at any road block (not that I am usually out that late at night, really, hee! hee!) My kids love the Forester though. HELP!
  9. Hi everyone. I just went test driving with a couple of colleagues today. Was surprised to hear that the new turbo charged Forrester is going at 101K. The drive was shiok...pick up very good for a big car and auto one too . Incidentally, the rex is going for 109K now sure got some chiongster out there that will be tempted by these new prices...
  10. http://www.remarcable.net/misc/lega...olvo_filmen.mov This particular volvo (XC70) uses a viscous coupling to provide power to the rear wheels. Under normal driving conditions most of the power and torque go to the front wheels only. The traction control system should have made the rear wheels turn as soon as the front wheels started to slip (the system applies the brake to tires that slip similar to the Land Rover Freelander). Either the traction control was not functioning, turned off, or sucks and doesn't work under the conditions presented in the video.
  11. Hey, saw this in today's Straits Times: -------------- SUBARUS RECALLED OVER FAULT DEFECTS found in vehicles in the United States have prompted Subaru's Singapore dealer to recall 604 of its automatic cars. Motorimage Enterprises expects no more than three cars, or less than 0.5 per cent, to be suffering from what tests in the US have found: A car put into 'park' can still move. The Japanese-made cars recalled are Impreza and Forester models produced late last year, and this year's Impreza and Legacy vehicles, said a Motorimage spokesman, stressing that the recall was voluntary. It is 'purely a safety precaution' and there have been no reports of injuries linked to the defect, he added. Last month, 'out-of-specification parts' were discovered in tests which showed that the parking mechanism did not engage fully when the automatic transmission parking rod was in 'park' position. But such a car would not move if the parking brake was on, Motorimage said yesterday. It wrote to car owners yesterday, asking them to take their vehicles in. The cars will be fitted with a new parking gadget for free. Motorimage said it was in talks with Subaru on whether the manufacturer will pay for the replacements.
  12. What do u think about Subaru cars in terms of: 1) maintenance cost 2) fuel consumption 3) availability of spare parts 4) services provided by Motor Image I am thinking of getting the new Subaru Impreza.
