  1. I'm looking for educational kits on basic principles like: Motor, Hand-cranked generator, etc. I've taken a look at Tamiya kits but found none suitable. If possible, the kit need to have large parts to put together, so that the components are visible and suitable to use for showing the working principles. Any ideas what brand, line of product that offers this? Thanks for help/suggestion.

  3. Due to recent highlights of many inflated accident claims over the past years, the authorities are looking for suggestions to improve the system and reduce insurance companies losses It will then lead to a reduced premium payable for motorist. Any good suggestions as to how to eliminate inflated claims? Tag the premiums payable by car value or driver's profile, etc...? Or limit the amount of claim by the amount of premium paid? Please contribute

Traveling on expressway from BKE->KJE->PIE-> finally exit at Pioneer seems to be the most common route. But at 8am, the traffic is very heavy on the expressway. Can expert here please suggest an alternative route? Ideally, this route should be shorter, less crowded and FC-friendly. Many thanks.

  14. My mom is looking at changing cars, and as opposed to the last time, she's decided to ask me for advice. Her main conditions are low FC, low maintenance, low(er) maintenance costs and it must be an auto. My conditions are decent crash-worthiness, good driving position, good passive safetly devices, easy for me to work on (i.e. decent space for tools and my hand etc). Budget is around the $55k mark before trade-in, and we're looking at something in the "luxury" small/mini-car group. This car needs to be practical as its mostly for her to get to and from work as well as cart my sister and her friends (every weekend) and sometimes their stuff around as well. We're looking at mostly jap made cars but conti cars are fine too. Do note, that when i'm back in singapore, i usually drive up to KL as well. I'm also looking at authorised dealers at this point in time as i'm not sure about warranty issues with parallel importers (unless someone here can reccommend a reliable parallel importer), and i won't be in sg most of the time to scream at someone. Right now the Daihatsu Materia is topping the list. Can anyone suggest any other vehicles that would fit these criteria?? Btw, the Jazz/Fit and Colt are cars that we do not want.
  15. Hi fellow comrades, Have been thinking about adding an after market anti roll bar to sharpen the handling of my spb. any recommendations? Lamy
  16. [inline SSOG4.jpg] Got a quote from the sticker shop at IMM where MCF had their decals done there as well, for the design attached above... Please indicate the size ! It's a full color production. Indicative price for a 100pcs of decal is SGD$320. It will be too expensive to produce running number, therefore, those running numbers will be manually stick on to. The cost for those number on to the decal is SGD$1/number. 01is considered 2 numbers. Therefore there are 80 numbers altogether. Total cost is SGD$400. Looking forwards to hear from you again. After telling them if we can have 50 pieces only... We will try to fulfill your request. Firstly, always the initial order is costly to us because the preparation of negative and its cutter. On top of it, your present artwork is a full color preparation and that mean we require multiple negatives. However, we sincerely understand that you are trying to have an identification decal for your member despite having a small number of members. In the case you only take 50pcs, we still have to produce somewhere 150pcs. Anyway, we can only give you a $10 deduction and that mean the total cost is SGD$390. Hope you can now have a better picture of our costing. We look forward to hear from you soon and even if youn have decided not to give us the job, please also feel free to contact us if you require any clarification. Please come down to our outlet at IMM Bldg #03-13 and we have good sticker for your car and personal collection too. Thank you and wishing you and your fellow members "Gong Ci Fa Cai" in advance. Good day. Currently there are probably only 10 to 15 of regular members here... Assuming it's $4 per decal and each member gets 2 pieces = $8, and we manage to collect from 15 members = $120 ... which means the outstanding amount would be $280 from the required $400 for initial payment. Can't expect me to fork out $280 right? Any suggestions anyone? Was wondering if Servo/Vassauto or Red Dot will be willing to sponser the rest after which they can sell the rest of the decals to new members ... After obtaining quotes from several companies, I think this deal is pretty good and cheap, as we get the decals plus the customization of the numbers at only $4 each Just that we need to do 100 pieces Just that the required amount of money for payment is a problem here. Any suggestions from anyone?
  17. Hi, any suggestions for tire size 205/55/16? Are BS Turanza ER30s any good?
  18. Am thinking of installing solar control film. Looking at a few brands. V-kool, Perfect, Coolnlite. Would love to hear feedback from anyone who has the above brands installed in their car. Please share how much did it cost you and which package you installed. If anyone has other brands installed, please feel free to share as well. Currently, i only know of/am looking at these 3 brands. Looking to spend about $500-$700. Comments are greatly welcomed and appreciated!
  19. To all ICE gurus, have a little question here hope can get some comments/views on the possible options: HU: Pioneer 50W x 4 Front: CDT CL-61 Rear: JBL 6x9 Amp: VDO PA4600 (4 ch) MTX 8" Basstube Am thinking of the following options: 1) VDO amp to drive front and bridge 2 ch to drive basstube. HU to power the rear. 2) VDO to drive all speakers and get another 2ch amp to drive basstube. 3) VDO to drive fronts & basstube, get a smaller 2ch amp to drive rear. So... which is better? Please give your opinions freely, thanks.
