  1. Anyone know which tyre shop has a good selection of 17inch rims for PCD112. I have tried South East and Stamford. They have mostly 18inch and above.
  2. When I pumped petrol last night I was suprised that on the data matrix shows that I have 640 km worth of petrol? How dose this work out? Sometimes it is 620 km and once 580km? Do the onboard compture calculate this base on your usage or is this a true representation of how much I can use? confused?
  3. Anybody know what is this deal about? saw in newspapper today. drop from 99k to 85k. that is last year's model price. surely it must come with some terms. is it demo car, lesser equipped version or after finance rebate etc?
  4. Hi all, The drive shaft covers of the Superb experience relatively fast wear and tear. If the warranty of your ride is approaching the end of warranty or the mileage is approaching 40000km, please get CA to inspect and change the drive shaft covers immediately. Alternatively, drive to a trusted mechanic to get a second opinion on the condition of the drive shaft. Tell-tale signs: Lots of oil deposit in the inner sections of the rim due to the leakage of oil from the broken rubber drive shaft covers. To confirm the condition, it is best to hoist the car up and do a visual inspection. I suspect that CA does not usually inspect the condition of the drive shaft when you send the ride in for servicing. Hence, damages (if any) are unreported. According to CAG, the possible causes of the accelerated wear and tear are: 1. High amounts of torque transfer from the 1.8T engine to the drive shaft 2. Rubber material which cannot withstand the humidity and heat of our climate Unlike Japanese rides, you will not experience pronounced knocking sounds from the worn drive shafts when you negotiate a turn. However, if the problem stays unnoticed, there will be possible damage to the continuous velocity (CV) joint. The cost of replacing the drive shaft covers including inclusive of labour at CAG amounts to $840.
  5. To all prospective Superb buyers, locations for placing the reverse sensors are already catered for in the rear bumper cover. It will be adviseable to instruct your SE not to drill additional holes below the rubbing strip for aesthetic reasons. The following pictures were extracted from Briskoda.
  6. Hi all, I have received a few enquiries on a reliable spray painter during yesterday's meetup. Here is the contact of a reputable spray painter. Phua Spray Painting 10 Ang Mo Kio Ind Pk 2A #04-17 T: 64815550 Contact person: Ronnie Phua For the Superb owners who are keen to get the strips colour coded, you can consider spraying the top (smaller) segment of the strip to bright silver to achieve the effect of an Elegance trim Superb. This is definitely a cheaper option to get the original strips with chrome trimmings. Attached is a picture of one such example.
  7. Today saw two rides, one in town, a blazing electric blue vRS Combi and in another location a grey Superb MS Design quad pipe. Just want to say hi to the bros.
  8. Saw on Saturday's newspapers Skoda Superb's advert, this is one of the best deals seen yet for the Superb. 7" 2 Din HU with GPS/DVD/Radio/Reverse Camera functions, buy back scheme, warranty coverage, lots of nice stuff. Nice effort.

  10. Hi all, YES I can post a new thread finally I have some questions relating to the Superb, hope to get some advice here: Seatbelt warning - When I turn the key, the diagnostic shows the seatbelt sign, then turns off. But when I drives off and at speed without the seatbelt on, should there by some warning sound or signal to remind me? Mine don't, not sure whether this is normal. Power window - If I lock the power window at driver's side (by pressing the window lock button), the passenger windows should be "locked" and can't be open except from driver's side. Is this true? For my ride, both the back windows can't open but the front passenger side still can open leh even with the window lock engaged. Is this normal? Please enlighten me !! I have been told by AD that this is normal.
  11. One comment this week about my ride was the comfort at the back by a friend, so for the last one week I have been seating at the back as my better half drove, now I know why people like to be driven, it was soooo comfortable and I cross my leg and just seat back and relaxed read the papers checked emails on my pda phone, through the jams and crusie on the ECP and PIE it absorb every humps and bumps on the road like soft Arabian cushion. - Something I never noticed when I drove myself. I put down the arm rest and put in some tibits and the cup holder held a hot cup of Starbucks Machiato in place while I read the papers Hehe. Loving my ride even more. You guys got to try it. awesome!
  12. http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2007/08/accid...oda-superb.html i think the only reason the Superb slammed into the ferrari is when the turbo kicked in and it surged forward.....or something like dat... heh heh...
  13. Just saw on Channel 8 that a cab (looked like Superb) was stolen and crashed against road embankment near Keppel Rd, driver seriously injured! Can anyone find the link, I not It savvy leh...

  15. Today had another query about my ride. Drove my ride to the pick up point at the lift lobby and while waiting outside some guy came up to me and asked me what car is this; I told him about it and shared with him about what make, type and the engine under the hood, even opened the back seat doors to show him that this is a LWB(Long Wheel Based) car. He was impressed will be going online to find out more about the car. He step at different angles to look at the car and said that it was a nice looking car before he left.
  16. Wah.. Just when down to UBI and then saw to my surpise at least there are 5 superb brand new in the carpark. 2 blacks 2 blue 1 silver or grey Piang! There will be more black superb around.. now exclusive already.. keke.. BTW Anyone keen to LED their interior? I got a few more led lights.
  17. The time has come....heheh, thinking of lowering my ride by two fingers current four fingers gap, also want to change suspension at Servo, any advise from the bros here, like Lamy, Fisheye, Beanoyip? What's the estimated damage going to be? My budget is $800 do you think I can get anything good at that price? Also going to add anti-roll bars, will Lightspeed's Neuspeed anti roll bar work on a Superb?
  18. Some interior shots of the new Superb taken from Briskoda site. Peronally the refinement is updated from current Superbs. This picture shown gives us some clue that there will be no more LWB or will there be until the official information is out. The overall finish has gone up a grade, the door comparment looks pretty big. What do you guys think?
  19. I am thinking of upgrading my shocks due to the fact then when i travel abt 180 i can feel that my front didnt have much contact on the ground. However now i am on 18s and i worry that the sus will be too hard to handle. I intend to travel long distance in malaysia now i am going to batu pahat where there is a lot of uneven road. Previously was to yong peng. So can i know if anyone is on bisterin and can i have a honor to just test sit in your car? Or can anyone recommend any good lowered shocks?
  20. Yesterday was a harrowing experience for my wify while she drove, the car had some battery connection issues that cause the car to stutter and splutter due to poor connection and kept shutting down the car. At first we thought the battery was drained so the usual suspects were, "did we drain the battery with the headlights on?" "did the reverse camera function short circuit" etc. Anyways finally went down to Skoda at Ubi and got it checked, took a like forever for me to get there though as the car died along the way twice at each traffic light before reaching my destination. Questions: Why is it loose in the first place? Not sure. I did have my car serviced recently actually 5 days ago. Got it checked out and the mech there found the loose connection, tighten it, did a battery test and it was 100% phew. Alls well now. So just to give the bros and sis here a heads up that if you experience the same thing, open up your battery cover and check if the connection is loose, if it is, just tighten it and check again. Hope this helps if you ever experience it, if not than treat this as useless information.
  21. Been only 3+ mths and the driver window is creaking and squeeking, louder than normal motor sounds also heard....wonder if the superb windows have problems like the rest of the MkIV VAG cars........... time to change the lifter again? OMG sigh
  22. 24. Some newsbits about the next major update of the Skoda Superb, the 2009 model will be based on a stretched and widen Octavia II platform to distance itself from VW similar models mainly the VW Passat. What are your thoughts on the direction that Skoda has taken or was it a VW decisions? Anyways looks like the Superb will be pegged with the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Alfa Romeo 159, Lexus IS series of cars? Than where is Octavia's class range pitted against? What's your views?
