  1. Hi guys, need some advice on my car. Just yesterda, while driving along the high way around 95-100km/hr, there was a sound of metal breaking and like a loose screw running through my car's bumper. After that, upon visual checking, something on the rear right seems to have 'went' and the right side is now lower than the left. Could it be the shock absorber? Does it make a metallic breaking noise when it's spoilt? Or is it the rear arm that has a problem? Or anything else? Appreciate your inputs. Thanks!
  2. This ZAG Performance Suspension Will Coming Soon At This June.. http://aaazag.blogspot.com http://aaasteven.blogspot.com
  3. I am facing some handling problem with my car. Its on a wet day. I was coming to this junction going a little faster than using cause the right turn arrow come one and there are no cars (don't want to miss it). As I slow down and turn, my car suddenly understeered. Can feel the front losing grip and car slide wide. This occurs when my food is on the brake (not hard braking). Let go brakes, its ok. Step on brakes again, slide again. I don't know if the wheels lockup thought I doubt so since I wasn't hard on brakes. Turning speed is not excessive, justs around 50-60KM/H Thus I am wondering if its because my front tyres are wearing out (threads still looks good) or suspension too hard (I did adjust the damper settings) or is it brake problem (My ABS up lorry already).
  4. THE driving licence of motorists who commit serious driving offences will be immediately suspended while they are being investigated, instead of waiting until they are charged in court. The move to give police more power to act against errant drivers was part of the changes to the Road Traffic Act passed in Parliament on Wednesday. In explaining the need for the change, Senior Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs Ho Peng Kee cited the case of a motorist, who had caused the death of a young woman sales agent while test-drving a sports car. The driver lost lost control of the car and caused an accident which killed the woman agent. The man was ultimately jailed for seven months for reckless driving and disqualified from driving for 10 years - 18 months after the accident. 'During this time, members of the public expressed concern that the motorist could resume his car-shopping activities, despite the crash and death of his passenger,' said Associate Professor Ho. He added that it was in the interest public safety that motorists be disallowed from driving during the investigation. But he added that 'immediate suspension will not be imposed in all cases where death or serious injury or serious damage to structures or building is caused.' 'Moreover, the suspension will be rescinded if investigations subsequently reveal that the motorist was not responsible for the offence or it is decided that the motorist will not be charged or that the charge would be withdrawn. In addition, an appeal can be made to the Minister within 14 days of receiving the suspension notice,' said the minister. source http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_578946.html drive safe everyone....be a gentlemen signal when changing lanes and drive safe...

  8. Hi guys, im planning to get a trd sportivo suspension kit. Any workshop does installation + possible alignment? Need to install sway bars as well. Thanks guys.
  9. HI all I am driving a second hand car and notice the ride is very bumpy. Is this considered soft or hard? Whenever i go through uneven road, u can feel the bumps. Sometimes it get so bad till i hear a loud 'clock-clock' sound when i go over something uneven even tho its not a huge hump. The current suspension i am using is cusco zero2r about 3 years already. However i sent the car to 2 workshops to check. One of the workshops also jack up the car to check for leaks. Another one test drive the car but both workshop said its fine. One of them wanted to sell me a rubber buffer to improve the ride but i am not sure if it would help. I suspect it could be the internal parts of the car like the toe arms or bushings. any bro here has any advice as to what is the problem ?
  10. Hi All, Am thinking of changing my bushings as ride feels uneven/noisy & sloppy. Anyone here changed their suspension & steering bushings B4? Has anyone tried those new nylon type bushings??? Any idea on the rough prices of both nylon & rubber types??? Thanks for any advice on above.
  11. Hey guys, just gauging interest. Am looking for coilovers, so I just probe around here first. Anyone interested in selling coilovers for Starlet here? 12. Bros, Anyone know of any good lobang for changing suspension for Altis other than at Borneo Motors in the West area? Mine seems to be giving me some problem recently and looks like time to change... cheers
  13. So I was driving home today behind this dazzling white Wish, sports rims, fierce looking body kit, and of course aggressively lowered suspension. The guy's driving style was normal enough, not speeding, not roadhogging. He happened to turn into the same, 1-lane 2-way residential side road that I did, and immediately exhibited a change of behaviour - and I found out why. Over the course of the 4 or 5 humps that we came to next, he started braking probably a couple of hundred meters from the hump, then painfully edged almost sideways over the hump. It was pretty obvious he had lowered his suspension a little too aggressively and was trying to prevent scraping the bottom of his car. This was probably the first time I had traversed that stretch of road - and those humps - at 20km/h without engaging either accelerator or brake. That was just enough to keep me going without stopping altogether behind him while he continued that painful journey, finally making a turn ahead of me. I was considerate enough though not to show any impatience - it was after all a trying and stressful enough experience for him... Which brings me to the opinion - there IS such a thing as too much lowering. 10mm fender space? 2 fingers? It seems to me that a lowering mod should improve stability and handling, but when carried too far actually takes away far too much comfort, and indeed reduces what should be an enjoyable cruising experience to a painful one.
  14. Hi all, I need some help from all gurus here. All along, I've been feeling that the suspension of my current ride is too stiff. The warranty period had just expired. As such, I would like to change the suspension to something more comfy. I'm not sure if i need to change the dampers or the suspension. Is there any recommendations for softer comfortable suspension/dampers? If so, where can i get it done and what's the damage? Thanks. Ride : Peugeot 307SW
  15. Guys, I just happened to walk around the car and realised there was some difference between the gap of the rear arches and wheels. Later on i took a measuring tape to measure and indeed both had a difference of about 1-2cm, just wondering if there was any cause for concern? Both front and rear right arches were of the same height except for the rear left which was a bit higher. It's unlikely to be an uneven ground also. Any advise?
  16. Just wondering, is having intercourse in car (like the woman on top position and missionary position) detrimental to the suspension setup ? asking cos i read that it is the number one favorite place for hot sex, so maybe drivers should be educated on this. thanks.
  17. My 1 mth old rear coilover seems to have this problem of up and down feeling whether it is tuned to softest setting or hadest setting. Front is ok. For temporary solution, is putting back my original rear shocks and springs ok? But my front leave it as it is.
  18. I just changed my suspension but i intend to keep my original one as it is only 5 mths old. However, i don't know if the absorbers will degrade or leak over prolong period of unuse in my storeroom. I just keep them in a box without additional wrapping or etc. Any expert here can advise? Or should i sell it away? Thanks.
  19. http://www.vagsg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12349&page=3 Look at the above link. The quality of the Coilover is wonderful. Looking for just another buyer together with me. If you are keen do pm or call me.

  21. Experience the above with my Octy. Anyone else has this? I believe its just some loose bolts underneath. Have not had the time to take a look.
  22. upgraded my current tanabe(front) and Koni(rear) to a set of RSR springs + SR special shock absorbers. lets see whats the difference.
  23. Hi starlet kakis, Anyone interested in upgrading to a set of TRD springs + firmness adjustable shocks + cusco camber adjustable?
  24. as per poll, which would you go for? personally i find the torsion beam setup, ie, found in most 1.5, 1.6 cars here lacking in comfort example, having first hand experience driving and as a rear passenger: - the FD civic is barely making it (in terms of comfort and NVH) - the altis and wish, i'm surprised at the level of (or lack of) refinement anything below dont even need to mention - camry and cefiro being a comparison, the sonata fairs surprisingly well
