  1. Hi, do you think suspension replacement is possible at CA? Seems like mine is really boat riding like crazy. Even at 30-50km/h if it was at 110km/h I would say it is my fault, but this is something wrong with the suspensions that is causing this? Can CA treat it as a wear and tear? Or do I need to apply my own 3rd party solutions? If I need to pay for a stock suspension or get a 3rd party, which is cheaper? TIA for the advise.
  2. hi guys, anyone have any idea which manufacturer still does coilover for EP70/EP71? Current stock shocks/springs are too soft and I have already replaced the shocks and they failed / bottom out after a few months. Please advise on availability. Thanks

  7. Hi all, Are the newer Taxi like Sonata, Sokda and Mercz come with lowered or sports suspension? The gap between the fender and the wheels are much lower than the older cabs and other sedan on the roads. Regards,
  8. i am thinking of getting a full coilover setup , so if you want something really sporty that hugs the road, let me know. i've got Bridgestone Potenza Gymkhanas absorbers. They are actually made by KYB. Gymkhana means carpark rally in Japanese, so that gives you an idea of the ride quality. Front and rear are both hard/soft adjustable. No leaks. Test rides available. cheap cheap swap with your setup plus $280 (neg) plus Saber's dinner (u neg with him) they have cut-springs on them now. you can take them as a set or use your current springs - just as long as you leave me with a working set of back-up suspension.
  9. Hi, I am contemplating changing the stock suspension to HKS coilover - which workshop would entertain installation of such coilover, especially since it's not purchased from them? - What should I expect from the change - noise level is expected to increase? I am doing so to improve handling/ cornering - my ride tends to sway during a sharp turn - I read that one should expect more bumpiness for the rear passengers - how can I reduce this ? Thanks
  10. Hi all, I hope to ask fellow bros here for comments and share feedback. I'm looking at various sort of suspension set-up. The few that came into my list are: 1. Tein 2. KW 3. Bilstein 4. HKS I'm looking for a setup that would enable me to ride daily in comfort, yet be able to tune it for tracking. I'm trying to keep cost down to 3K. Would appreciate feedback please. Thank you.
  11. As above,i saw a SMRT bus with one side of the bus lowered than all the other side.Is this the symptom of spoilt suspension?Does spoilt suspension compromise safety?Where has all the fare we paid gone to?Such a big different and no technician notice it?
  12. Hi Bros, need your advice on what kind of suspension to change for my coming 5years G9. My requirements are comfort yet hopefully dun have the feeling of car turn turtle when doing a fast turning.
  13. Hi, I'm driving a Colt manual, every time I go over a hump or some uneven road with at least 2 rear passengers, a knocking sound can be heard and felt by the passengers. I've complain the problem to C&C and they remove and install rear coil spring and insulate with rubber hose. However the problem is still there I've ask one of my friend who also own a Colt and he's also having the same problem but his knocking sound is worst than mine maybe due to the sports rims. C&C told him that this is a manufacture fault and they have reported it to Mitsubishi and there may be a recall I wonder how true is that Does any Colt owners out there has the same problem as mine?
  14. Hi, The shox on my brother's Focus needs changing. Was told the rear shox cost $160.00 each, is it so damn expensive ??? What shox are you boys using ??? Workshop offered a set of 4 Bilstiens for $900.00. Any comments from the FORD boys here ??? Appreciate any input. Thanks.
  15. 1. I always have the thought that by switching stock suspension to a coilover, it should significantly improve handling especially at corners. So prior to a LTA inspection, I've decided to change to a compatiable coilover for my made and was surprisingly disappointed. 2. Ok, the coilover does improve handling at corners at higher speed. Clearing road strips and low humps are more comfortable i.e. less bouncy. This is a good sign. However, something unexpected is that the car is now bouncy on straight line driving. The ride also became very rough. Not only that, when at LTA, my car is probably too low, I can't clear the center metal platform and was told to go back. 3. Now, adjusting the height taller is easy. But what happened to the comfort that was found in stock suspension? Is there something that I've not done correctly? The WS told me coilover behvaiour is such that it improves cornering + good look but it is always at the expense of comfort. Before coilover, my car can already reach 190km/h up North. With this set of coilover, I can't imagine my car rocking like crazy to reach 190km/h. 4. Can the suspension expert advise me whether to switch back to stock suspension and to ditch the coilover? Or there is a remedy to it? Currently front is 3 fingers with rear and about 3.5 fingers. 16" light weight rims with Goodyear F1. My primary object is to have a comfortable ride for my ES(not shakey or virbating feel) that is as good as the bigger sedan and not so bouncy when clearing humps. Lowering is secondary. I've front, center and rear struct bars. ARBs are upgraded and I also have engine chasis bar and the whole car is sound dampened. Thank you very much.
  16. My Focus Mk1 coming to 5yrs/100,000kms, suspension feels quite worn, so was wondering what were my options. May i know if it's possible to rebuild the stock shocks? Are they gas or oil filled? Or what good aftermarket replacements for shocks & springs are there? I want to retain most of the stock comfort, don't mind lowering slightly. Thanks.
  17. hi guys, Recently i had my rims change to 15", tyre spec is Front 195/60/15R rear tyre 195/50/15R. Understand that it may cause unstable on road. But my concern is when i throw in 195/60/15R at my rear when full load (1Pax behind) can cause tyre scratches at mud guard so decided to put back 195/50/15R. My question to this problem is can i still maintain 195/60/15R for my rear if i get a replacement of my rear spring/suspension?? As u all know lah 195/60/15R tyres very sporty look lei when its in EP80?? Please advise : ) Can drop me a sms at my hp as currently on noght shift. Rgds, Maw (93652509)

  21. Anybody have idea what cause the problem of cricking noise (as if nuts/metal has drop on the floor) when reaching the bottom of a slope down the MSCP. something wrong with the suspension. not sure its the spring, the shocks or arm or what else. it is ok while travelling normally and over gentle road humps.
  22. Hi guys, my COE 1992 colt the suspension "ko-yuck" already. Need to change them, search and found mainly sports suspensions mentioned on the forum. Any one can recommend a workshop with good service and reasonable prices? What kind of price range am i looking at? Any brands to look at? And a side point, can the suspensions be the source for strong vibrations at hi-speeds? I go beyond 120km/h then the front passenger seat shudders back and forth!!! [sweatdrop] Appreciate any help you can offer Thanx!
  23. Recently, I was driving behind a Honda Civic with very low side-skirts, front & rear bumper lip and the body was very low. I believe that young man was not concentrating on his driving and he suddenly applied emergency brake when he saw a road hump ahead. As I was behind him, I too applied on my brakes. The next moment, he discovered that his front bumper lip got stuck on the hump and can't move his car. Instead of reversing which will only affect the front bumper lip, he moved forward and I could hear the screeking sound of the side-skirts and the rear bumper lip against the hump. He then parked his car at the road side to look at the damages. After driving my car over the road hump and stopped behind his car, he was cursing and swearing away for not concentrating and the damages incurred. He then told me that he regretted spending so much money to make his car so sporty and lowering the suspension. He was so frustrated at that moment that he told me he has decided to bring the car to the workshop to dismantle all the bodyworks. As his car cannot move due to the damages affected the tyres and since I am an AAS member, I called AAS towing truck to tow his car to his workshop while I drove him along in my car. All the way from the spot that his car was damaged until I drove his to his workshop, he kept telling me "IF ONLY THIS AND THAT" and if he had listened to his parents' objections, such damages would not have occurred. He told me that he was worried on the amount for the repair costs and does not have the money. I advised him that what happened has already happened and if he has no money for the repairs, he has to be thick-skinned and approach his family members. This is a typical scenario where one has overdone the bodywork of the vehicle to the extent of compromising on the possible damages and consequences.
