  1. Since no thread on the latest 3rd Gen VW Tiguan , think should start this thread for potential buyers. As discussed in the car sexpo thread, found the courage to meet the MILF SE this afternoon. Was quite impressed with the overall car and it was crowded with many people molesting and abusing the showroom Tiguan car. Price increased by 5k as compared with the sexpo price. Those who test drove and signed on the dotted line , pls share share here..😅
  2. The new Audi Q6 e-tron (not to be confused with the larger 7 seater version for Chinese market) marks the start of a new generation of electrically powered vehicles at Audi. With a new platform, electronics architecture, charging and battery technology, as well as a pioneering design for Audi, the Q6 e-tron paves the way to Audi's all-electric future. It is the first production model based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE). This makes the all-electric SUV with its new E3 1.2 electronic architecture the new reference for Vorsprung durch Technik. With the Q6 e-tron series, e-mobility is coming from the Ingolstadt plant for the first time. The Q6 e-tron will compete directly with BMW upcoming iX3, which is built on a dedicated platform for Vision Neue Klasse X. Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro S Line Audi SQ6 e-tron
  3. A handsome looking 7 seater (better looking than the 2nd gen Skoda Kodiaq imo), in the latest iteration. The third-generation Peugeot 5008 plugs into Europe's already crowded SUV segment in more ways than one. It's available with a fully electric drivetrain but you can also have the three-row family hauler with a plug-in hybrid setup. Alternatively, the French brand part of Stellantis plans to sell a cheaper mild-hybrid model as well. Essentially, the new 5008 is an enlarged version of the latest 3008 introduced in 2023. It sits on the STLA Medium platform and has the following dimensions: 4,788mm long, 1,890mm wide, and 1,689mm tall, with a generous wheelbase of 2,898mm. While SUVs nowadays tend to have swoopy rooflines, the new Peugeot 5008 retains the boxy shape of its predecessor to maximize interior space. It largely inherits the design of its E-3008 smaller brother, complete with the same 21-inch display positioned atop the dashboard. There are also 10 customizable touch controls providing shortcuts to often-used functions accessible from the center console. The most affordable version will be powered by a turbocharged 1.2-liter gasoline engine fitted with 48V technology. This tiny three-cylinder mill sends 136 horsepower to the front wheels via a six-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission featuring a built-in electric motor. The plug-in hybrid combines a 150-hp combustion engine with a 123-hp electric motor for a total system output of 195 hp channeled through a seven-speed, dual-clutch auto. This PHEV can cover more than 80Km on electric power before the gas engine starts feeding from the 60L fuel tank. Then there’s the fully electric E-5008 model available in multiple configurations. The single-motor, front-wheel-drive versions come with 210 hp and 228 hp, both of which offer an instant torque of 254 pound-feet. Step up to the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive model, and the combined output is rated at 318 hp. Stick to the front-wheel-drive model and Peugeot installs a 73.0-kilowatt-hour battery good for 500Km. The bigger 98.0-kWh pack means fewer stops at a charging station since the range grows to 660Km. The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version gets the bigger battery but efficiency takes a hit due to the vehicle's higher curb weight. Those batteries are guaranteed for eight years or 100,000 miles during which Peugeot is sure charging capacity won't drop below 70 percent. A heat pump comes as standard, as does the 11-kW charger. You can optionally get a 22-kilowatt charger, while DC charging can support up to 160 kW. In this case, it takes 10 minutes to put enough energy in the battery for 100Km. Spending half an hour at a charging station replenishes the battery from 20 to 80 percent.
  4. Entry-level BEV from Škoda, Epiq. Small becomes epic: Škoda Auto has revealed the name of its battery-electric city SUV crossover, along with a design study showing a first glimpse of the new model. The Škoda Epiq, due to be unveiled in 2025, will cost around 25,000 euros. At 4.1 metres in length, it will feature a spacious interior and up to 490 litres of luggage capacity. The vehicle will fully incorporate the powerful, functional and authentic new Modern Solid design language – inside and out. This will be complemented by a flawless digital experience, with new technologies and assistance features. The new digital design study released by Škoda highlights key features and characteristics of the future production vehicle. At 4.1 metres in length, the Škoda Epiq city SUV crossover will have plenty of space for five people and a luggage capacity of up to 490 litres. With an entry-level price starting at around 25,000 euros, it is the perfect choice for customers new to electric mobility. It fully incorporates the powerful new Modern Solid design language – inside and out – and offers a maximum electric range of more than 400 kilometres. The new Modern Solid design language combines robustness, functionality and authenticity. The Škoda Epiq design study features a sculpted bonnet bearing a new Škoda wordmark. Its Tech-Deck Face in glossy black is a modern reinterpretation of the familiar Škoda grille and houses electrical devices like the distance radar and the front camera. The Tech-Deck Face is flanked by bifunctional, T-shaped LED elements for the daytime running lights and indicators. The front headlamps are in a lower, secondary position. Their light modules have a cubist-inspired design and feature Matrix LED technology. The robust front bumper comes with a striking spoiler painted in Unique Dark Chrome. The side view is characterised by a high, sweeping tornado line that visually separates the greenhouse from the rest of the body and emphasises the car’s powerful shoulders. The wheel arches below are picked out with a striking trim and house aerodynamically optimised wheels. The low, gently sloping roof line merges into a roof spoiler for optimal aerodynamic efficiency. The rear also features a robust bumper and Škoda lettering in Unique Dark Chrome on the tailgate. The minimalist look of the Škoda Epic design study is underlined by the matt metallic paintwork in bright Moon White. Flashy Orange detailing on the roof rails and the wheels as well as on the front and rear bumpers add visual interest. The Škoda Epiq will be the first production vehicle to feature a minimalist Modern Solid interior focusing on durable, practical and sustainable materials. It has an open storage compartment that includes a wireless mobile phone charger in the free-floating centre console as well as Simply Clever compartments for even more storage options. The boot also benefits from some of the brand’s hallmark Simply Clever details such as bag hooks, cargo elements, fastening hooks and a hidden underfloor compartment. The two-spoke steering wheel showcases the new Škoda lettering as well as physical buttons and haptic scroll wheels with Flashy Orange accents to control key functions while driving. The mobile digital key enables a wide range of interactions via the customer’s smart device, thus enhancing the user’s digital experience. This underlines the consistent customer focus of Škoda’s “mobile first” approach designed to make drivers’ everyday lives easier. The Škoda Epiq also supports bidirectional charging, transforming the car into a rolling energy storage unit that can feed excess electric energy into the customer’s home and other appliances. The Škoda Epiq will be a milestone in Škoda history, which is emphasised by its distinctive and easily recognisable name. It fits perfectly into the nomenclature of Škoda’s BEV SUV models: the E at the beginning stands for a battery-electric Škoda model, while the Q at the end identifies it as a member of the brand’s SUV family. Epiq is derived from the ancient Greek word “epos”, which stands for “word” or “verse”, but also for “tale” or “poem”. The name evokes positive associations such as amazing, great, extraordinary and remarkable. With its clever features and versatility, the Škoda Epiq aims to fulfil the needs of both family- and lifestyle-oriented customers. The city SUV crossover will be made in Pamplona, Spain, as a joint development and production project of Volkswagen’s Brand Group Core representatives Škoda, Cupra and Volkswagen. Škoda Auto is committed to investing billions of euros into its transformation towards e-mobility in the coming years. The Škoda Elroq, a battery-electric compact SUV, will be the first vehicle to be launched as part of the upcoming electric model campaign, with its debut scheduled for later this year.
  5. Porsche will present the new all-electric Macan on Thursday, 25 January 2024. The second generation of the successful SUV will be unveiled in Singapore, with the world premiere broadcast live in the Porsche Newsroom. Shortly before the world premiere of the new Porsche Macan, Michael Mauer discusses the challenge of updating the familiar design of the successful SUV. “The new Macan is the first model that we are electrifying from an existing, established product identity,” says the Vice President Style Porsche. In his view, “every new sports car has to be very clearly recognisable as part of the Porsche product family and the model in question, but also has to be perceived as ‘the new one’”. Mauer believes that this visual consistency is critical for the Porsche brand. Striking the right balance between “quintessentially Porsche” and “innovative” is a tricky proposition at times, admits the designer. The switch from an internal combustion engine to an all-electric powertrain in the Macan posed a challenge for the Style Porsche team while offering new possibilities. Stay tuned for more updates.
  6. Yes, your eyes isn't playing any trick, the "New" Niva is just a refresh of the original, which is 47 year old and still counting... another 18 year more and it will beat VW Beetle's record to be the most long life model. So what's new and make me started a thread about it? It now come with one of the most basic and standard safety features that has been around, for well, decades now: an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). However, it still doesn't come with any airbag, not even for the driver! Its engine has also been updated to make it Euro 5 compliant. That’s quite an upgrade given the outgoing model was built to the Euro 2 standard introduced in 1996, but it’s still far behind most modern engines. In fact, Euro 5 regulations have been around since 2009 whereas Euro 6 was introduced in 2014. If everything goes smoothly, Euro 7 laws could be enacted by 2025. See below for the rest of the updates for this almost half a century old SUV...
  7. Is it just me, but the front look like borrowed from an Opel SUV... BMW will kick off a new chapter of its electrification strategy in 2025 with the launch of a new platform for electric vehicles. The Neue Klasse (New Class) architecture will underpin at least six new zero-emissions SUVs and today, these spy photos provide an early look at one of those electric models in prototype form. Our spies in Germany sent us a batch of spy shots with what is currently known as the NA5 project, which is expected to arrive in the summer of 2025. The high-riding EV here is believed to be roughly the same size as today’s X3. However, smarter packaging combined with longer overhangs should result in a bigger storage area behind the rear seats, as well as a roomier cabin. In August last year, BMW confirmed the first product to be based on the Neue Klasse platform will be an electric sedan. It will be followed by this SUV here and some sources even claim it will arrive first. We won’t speculate on that topic but we’ll mention production of the electric family hauler is expected to begin in July 2025 in Hungary. “By the end of the decade, the Neue Klasse is expected to account for more than half of our sales,” BMW’s CEO Oliver Zipse said last year.
  8. After the Corolla Cross and new Crown, another iconic Toyota model has been SUV-nised... I seriously hope the trend will stop soon. @Toeknee_33what's your thought? Toyota announced the debut of an all-new model on September 6, which will be streamed live on YouTube from Tokyo, Japan. The automaker didn’t name the model but the official teaser photos showing portions of the front and rear suggest it will be the already-confirmed Century-branded SUV. Stay tuned for more updates. 🙂
  9. I've always wanted to own an SUV, with the commanding position, high hip point for entry and good boot size. So I recently decided to take a walk around the showrooms, with a basic search and some requirements: - five seats minimum, seven is a bonus, but basically a good size rather than a tiny one - high hip point - good boot size - not too slow 0-100 (under 11) - I'll need storage, good safety and things that a family with a young baby will appreciate I don't speed, but sometimes you need a bit of zoom to join traffic and drive up Genting or overtake and I do go to M'sia often. That also means EVs are a bit more tricky My mileage is low, 10-12k a year on average. Now, my car isn't due for another 3 plus years, but I wanted to see what's out there and I'm just sharing my findings here and my choices are purely personal, as YMMV.. I didn't have a specific budget, but I soon realised that most of the choices hover around the 200k mark, and this is almost twice what they used to cost due to the COE. Hybrids aren't my first choice due to my low mileage, and the cost of a battery replacement is a big deal, so even EVs are a bit tricky, but the number of petrol only cars are limited. The EV motors are also not great for the Malaysia jaunts, and CVTs are less desirable than autos, but you have to be careful which DCT you choose.. Cheers
  10. Basically a Toyota Yaris Cross in a tuxedo. Rumors of a fancier Yaris Cross have been swirling around for years and now the Lexus LBX is officially here. Positioned below the UX and serving as the new entry-level model, the tiny crossover is an indirect replacement for the defunct CT hatchback. It rides on the same GA-B platform as its Toyota sibling but with different styling to better fit Lexus' design language both inside and out. The LBX is 4,190 millimeters long, 1,825 mm wide, and 1,545 mm tall, while having a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. Riding on 18-inch wheels as standard equipment, the petite Lexus is actually slightly bigger than the Yaris Cross and tips the scales at 1,280 kilograms. It will be offered with a choice between front- and all-wheel drive, with all configurations coming exclusively with a continuously variable transmission. At the heart of the LBX is a hybrid powertrain based around a three-cylinder, 1.5-liter gasoline engine. It produces a combined output of 134 horsepower (100 kilowatts - just nice in cat A) and a maximum torque of 185 Newton-meters. It's enough electrified punch for a 0 to 100 km/h run in 9.2 seconds and a maximum towing capacity of 750 kilograms. All versions of the latest Lexus get a MacPherson strut front suspension while the rear uses a torsion beam for the FWD models and a double wishbone if you opt for AWD. Although the technical specifications for the latter have yet to be disclosed but it will add an electric motor at the rear. Interestingly, the small crossover has an aluminum hood as well as molded resin wheel arches, rockers, and lower door sections to keep weight down. Stepping inside, the LBX boasts a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster with an optional head-up display joined by a 9.8-inch touchscreen. The infotainment supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but only the former has wireless connectivity. Lexus has once again teamed up with Mark Levinson, which supplies the 13-speaker sound system that comes along with a subwoofer. Stick to the front-wheel-drive model and you get a cargo capacity of 332 liters with the rear seats in place. The AWD-equipped LBX is likely to be less practical due to the extra hardware installed at the back. Lexus mentions it hasn't made any compromises in terms of quality and attention even though this is the new entry-level model. The LBX is the company's first model for which development primarily took place in Europe. It's scheduled to enter production by the end of this year and go on sale in Europe along with additional markets in early 2024.
  11. This compact electric SUV will be even smaller than the XC40, with an estimated dimensions of 4.2m (L) x 1.8m (W) x 1.6m (H). Design wise, the line between products from Volvo and Polestar is getting blurry, and can see that the rear windscreen is very narrow (by SUV standard), again compromising practicality for aesthetic appeal...
  12. One of the key features of an SUV is the ability to go off road. To use the same car you would pick up your groceries and kids one day and go on mud and sand the next. However, this is Singapore. The only sand and mud we have are off limits to cars (as far as I can find). That didn’t stop a determined Honda Vezel driver from testing his capabilities though. Watch this video to see what I mean. What happened? A Honda Vezel was seen at Simei Carpark driving over a kerb and carrying on as if nothing happened. It appears as though the driver was trying to leave the car park but forgot to turn enough to hit the exit. Instead, he drove straight through a parking lot in order to correct his course and finally leave. Rip to his undercarriage. Let’s watch that again. He could have reversed and prevented any possible damage to the car, like any other sensible person. But this must be some high-level driver’s thinking that I cannot comprehend until I drive for a minimum of 20 years. Comment down below if you think so too! Let the jokes come in You know there had to be jokes after something like that. Notably about what driving school he came from. w My soul would leave my body if I felt my car go over an entire kerb. Others also made jokes about how he was using the car as it was meant to be driven. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 13. Nice outlook, BUT there is NO rear windscreen! A big NO for me. And I find Polestar's naming convention rather confusing. This PS4 actually sit between PS2 (compact sedan) and PS3 (mid-size crossover), Swapping the name with PS3 make more sense imo. The Polestar 4 is the brand’s latest addition to the electric automaker’s growing lineup, with the new SUV slotting between the Polestar 2 sedan and the larger 3 in terms of size and price. The compact crossover adopts a stylish design showcasing key features from the Polestar Precept concept car. The Polestar 4 will be available in both single- and dual-motor layouts. The long-range, dual-motor version produces 544 horsepower and 686 Nm of torque. The crossover can hit 100 kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds, making it the brand’s fastest production car ever. Even though the Polestar 1 had more power, the Polestar 4 will complete century sprint 60 quicker. The long-range, single-motor version, which powers the rear wheels, makes 272 hp and 343 Nm of torque. Polestar gives the long-range, single-motor variant a preliminary range target of over 483 kilometers based on the US EPA’s test procedure. The automaker fits both long-range models with the same 102.0-kilowatt-hour battery capable of 200-kilowatt DC charging and 22-kW AC. The 4 has bi-directional charging with vehicle-to-load capability and a heat pump as standard equipment. The Polestar 4 debuts with a new drive optimization function that allows drivers to select between range and performance driving modes. Range prioritizes efficiency, with the crossover capable of disengaging the front electric motor to save energy via a disconnect clutch. Performance mode sharpens the 4’s responsiveness and engages both motors at full power at all times. The dual-motor version has a semi-active suspension, while Polestar offers the model lineup with a range of 20- to 22-inch wheel choices wrapped in either Pirelli or Michelin rubber. The crossover features a low aerodynamic nose, retractable door handles, and frameless windows. It has no rear window glass, with the standard glass roof extending behind the heads of the rear-seat passengers. The Polestar 4 crossover is 4,839 millimeters long, 2,139 mm wide, and 1,544 mm tall. It has a 2,999 mm wheelbase, which makes it as big as the Audi Q7 between the front and rear wheels while being shorter overall. Safety is front and center with the Polestar 4. It has nine airbags, 12 cameras, one radar system, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Drivers glean information from a 10.2-inch display ahead of the steering column, but a 14.7-inch head-up display is available to reduce distractions. It features a nifty “snow mode” that switches the HUD’s text color from white to yellow. A 15.4-inch landscape-oriented infotainment display runs Android Automotive OS. It has built-in Android features like Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play store. Apple CarPlay is included, and customers can upgrade to a 12-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system. However, those who upgrade to the Nappa Pack get two additional speakers in each front headrest for 16 total. Polestar will offer the sleek crossover with several upgrade packs. The Plus Pack focuses on improving the model’s tech and comfort kit. The Plus Pro Pack adds color-coded body bits, an electrochromic glass roof, and extra interior illumination. The previously mentioned Nappa Pack, which customers can select with the Plus Pack, also adds massaging seats and Nappa leather upholstery with ventilation. The long-range, dual-motor version is available with a Performance Package that includes Polestar Engineered chassis tuning. The pack also comes with 22-inch wheels, four-piston Brembo brakes, and gold details for the brakes, seat belts, and valve caps. The Polestar 4 will begin production this November in China, where it’ll launch first. The company will release more specific details for other markets in 2024, with the vehicle arriving later that same year. Polestar indicates the crossover will have a launch price of US$60,000 to start.
  14. The Espace has lost it way. Sorry but this is the ugliest Espace in its 30 year history... nothing but a bloated Kadjar / Koleos. Now entering its sixth generation, it's basically abandoning all minivan cues. Essentially, it's a long-wheelbase version of the Austral compact crossover with some minor changes to the design. While cars tend to grow in size and add weight, the new Espace bucks the trend since it's 140 mm shorter and 215 kg lighter than the minivan it replaces. It also rides 32 mm lower and has a more spacious third row, but you can have it with only five seats as well. This midsize SUV come with a turbocharged 1.3-liter gasoline engine as a full hybrid with a pair of electric motors. The three-cylinder unit is good for 131 hp and 205 Nm of torque while the main electric motor is rated at 68 hp and 205 Nm. The second e-motor works as the starter generator with 25 hp and 50 Nm. Combined, Renault says the driver has access to 199 hp.
  15. Look larger and well proportioned. Stay tuned for more info.
  16. Replacement for the 8 years old CX-9 is scheduled to debut on the 31 Jan 2023. Here are some teaser shots, videos and quick bites released by Mazda. Stay tuned for more... Highlights Turbocharged 3.3-liter IL6 engine 340 hp / 254 kW 500 Nm torque Available with Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) Front-engine, Rear-drive architecture Mazda's Kinetic Posture Control (KPC) system borrowed from the MX-5 Miata
  17. Hyundai Kona debuts with a bigger body and buyers will be able to get the new Kona as an EV, hybrid, combustion engine only, and a sporty N Line model. Hyundai's designers started by creating the new Kona EV and then applied the look to the other versions. In front, all of them share a distinctive light bar along the hood's edge. The headlights are below this strip on the outer corners. The lower fascia's styling is the primary differentiating factor among the 2024 Kona models. The EV has pixel-like elements there, and the styling shares some cues with Hyundai's Ioniq vehicles. The standard ICE vehicle has a rectangular opening in this space. The N Line has a more aggressive appearance by using a trapezoidal element. From the side, the 2024 Kona models share a similar look. The hybrid- and combustion-powered variants have body cladding on the fenders. The EV and N Line keep this section in the body color. The N Line has a rear spoiler, silver side skirts, and available black pieces for the mirror caps and roof. The rear matches the front by having a light bar stretch across the hatchback. Like the headlights, the tail lamps are in the lower corners. The N Line gets dual exhaust outlets. The new Kona EV is 4,355 millimeters long, which is 150 millimeters longrr than the existing model. The wheelbase increases by 60 millimeters while the width is wider by 25 millimeters. Inside, the new Kona has a pair of 12.3-inch screens that share a single bezel. The gearshift is now on the column behind the steering wheel. Below the big displays, the center stack includes a pair of vents and the controls for the HVAC system. In the second row, there's a simple rear bench. The company's announcement says that it follows the rest of the new Kona's "21st-century urban design aesthetic." The automaker isn't yet disclosing powertrain specifications or pricing details for the new Kona. Hyundai will release that info in the coming months.
  18. Both the exterior and interior have the Land Rover vibe, and seems up market.

    2023 BMW XM

2023 BMW XM Officially Revealed As The Ultimate M SUV With 735 HP BMW took everyone by surprise in November 2021 with the reveal of its aggressively angular Concept XM. Get ready to meet the subsequent production version with largely the same polarizing design, including the love/hate split headlights we've recently seen on the new 7 Series and X7 facelift. The edgy SUV available exclusively with a plug-in hybrid powertrain is the first standalone M product since the original M1 was discontinued in 1981. Everything is big about the M division's partially electrified mastodont, including the 23-inch wheels with 275/35 R23 front and 315/30 R23 rear tires as standard equipment. Alternatively, you can optionally go down one size. It does have two roundels at the back as a throwback to the M1 but this is pretty much where the similarities end. As with all fully fledged M cars, the XM has a quad exhaust system, only this time with stacked tips to make the sporty luxobarge stand out. Impressively wide taillights complement the muscular body and flank a prominent XM badge with a gold contour to echo other exterior details. The first M product with a PHEV setup features a charging port on the left-front fender, which will be the same story as the next-generation M5. Under the hood, BMW has installed its new S68 engine, a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with mild-hybrid tech. On its own, the combustion engine is good for 483 horsepower at 5,400 rpm and 650 Newton-meters of torque from just 1,600 rpm. Integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission is the electric motor, rated at 194 hp and 280 Nm. With the power of the two combined, the XM offers 644 hp and 800 Nm. The electrified punch enables a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 4.3s). The ultimate M SUV is electronically capped at 250 km/h from the factory, but add the M Driver’s Package and BMW will loosen up the limiter to 270 km/h. The e-motor draws its juice from a lithium-ion battery pack with a usable capacity of 25.7 kWh. The XM will hit 140 km/h in electric mode, and BMW estimates a full charge will last for 48 kilometers based on EPA’s testing procedures. Over in Europe, the super SUV named after a 1990s Citroën model has a WLTP rating of 82 to 88 kilometers.
  20. TL;DR - A Hyundai Tucson reverses into a stationary car at the traffic lights along Esplanade Drive. Plot twist; the Tucson is a Singapore Police Force vehicle. A video of a Singapore Police Force Hyundai Tucson reversing into another car has surfaced on SGRV’s Facebook page. Since its posting around midnight, it has garnered a whopping 203 shares. Watch the 53-second video here: What happening? Image: Hyundai.com.sg The driver of the latest Police fast response Hyundai Tucson does a serious booboo. As mentioned earlier, the cam car and the Tucson stop at a traffic light. However, in a strange turn of events, the Tucson reverses and hits the front of the cam car. I think the Police officer wanted to turn right instead of going straight and did not check his blind spots or rear-view mirror. Does this place look familiar? If you’re unsure of where this takes place, here’s a rough idea of where I think this incident happened. It should be at this junction highlighted above. Another interesting thing After the ‘collision’, the red and blue lights on the Police vehicle suddenly light up. Not sure why. Pretty strange. But one Netizen had a theory. Online Chatter Let’s look at other interesting comments. These comments don’t fail to disappoint. Well, suffice to say, the Police Officer is definitely BBQ-le. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 21. This is supposedly the 3rd generation XC90, which Volvo decided to give it a name change to signify the switch to all electric drive train. Earlier reports, however, suggested that the model, which it is said will blend SUV and sedan design elements, will be named Embla, after the first woman in Norse mythology. Next-Gen Volvo XC90 EV Design Allegedly Revealed In Patent Images In any case, Volvo announced in February that it would be keeping the XC90 around for a few more years. The SUV that heralded the brand’s modern revival will continue to be produced in Torslanda, Sweden, after a visual update.
  22. To be unveiled in Japan in September 2022. Although it is sized between the HR-V and CR-V, but this new SUV will be replacing the CR-V in the Japanese Market, as they just announced the cease of CR-V production days before introducing this latest ZR-V. A strange move to me. For those of you who are follow motoring news closely, you may find that it look very familiar and that you have seen it somewhere. Well, the same model is available in the USA recently, but using the HR-V nameplate. Another head scratching decisions by Honda...
  23. This shall be my retirement ride, if the COE continues to remain at the current level. Anything higher, will go BMW liao. Five-Door Suzuki Jimny Spied Flaunting Its Longer Wheelbase The Suzuki Jimny is about to grow a bit bigger and gain an extra pair of doors to make the little SUV a bit more utilitarian. These spy shots catch one of them testing in Europe. Aesthetically, the five-door Jimny looks identical to the existing version, except for the lengthened body and extra doors. The spy photographer estimates that the wheelbase is about 300 millimeters longer than the existing 3 door variant. The width and height appear to be unchanged. Another interesting note from the photographer was that this vehicle seemed to be driving without producing any engine noise. This suggests that the Jimny might be getting a hybrid drive train. It's not clear whether the existing 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine making 100 horsepower (75 kilowatts) would continue to be available or whether this potentially electrically assisted setup would completely replace it. Switching to the turbocharged, mild-hybrid engine would give the Jimny improved emissions. This might rectify the current issue that limits the model's availability to a two-seat, commercial product in Europe. According to a rumor from Japan in 2021, Suzuki plans to call this model the Jimny Long, which fits with exactly what it is. The same report claims this version uses a turbocharged, mild-hybrid engine, which fits with what the photographer of this one is saying. For JDM models, price for the five-door would be about 300,000 yen more than the three-door unit. This Jimny Long, or whatever it final name is, is expected to be unveiled by end of this year, and become officially available from 2023. Stay tuned for more info.
  24. Polestar 3 SUV design revealed in these official teaser. While it look quite sleek and clean, I can foresee headroom and rear visibility will be severely compromised. CGIs based on spy shots captured, Polestar's first electric SUV is scheduled to debut in October this year. There’s a new teaser image previewing that vehicle and it is already shaping up as a very serious contender in the rapidly growing electric SUV segment. This is our first official look at the new high-riding electric vehicle with no camouflage. Polestar sees huge potential in this segment, which is currently one of the highest margin and fastest-growing segments in the automotive industry. The Polestar 3 will be manufactured in the United States and China with the first examples planned to hit the assembly lines early next year. Customers will be able to put an order right after its premiere in October. Polestar says the model will rely on a dual-motor electric system powered by a large battery for a targeted range between two charges of over 372 miles (600 kilometers). Bear in mind that these figures are based on Europe’s generally more generous WLTP testing cycle. “Polestar 3 is the SUV for the electric age,” Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO, comments. “Our design identity evolves with this high-end large luxury EV, with a strong, individual brand character. With this car, we bring the ‘sport’ back to the SUV, staying true to our performance roots.”
  25. RX500h F Sport RX500h RX450h+ The 2023 Lexus RX rides on the GA-K platform, and the fresh underpinnings let the vehicle shed up to 89 Kg compared to the previous generation. The wheelbase grows by 60 mm, but the rear overhang shrinks by 60 mm, meaning that the overall length doesn't change compared to the previous model. The 2023 RX is coming with four powertrains, but Lexus is only offering details about three of them right now. Details about the 450h+ plug-in hybrid will come later. The 2023 RX will be available in six trim levels: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F Sport Handling, and F Sport Performance. The new RX 500h F Sport Performance grade comes with some extra equipment. It has six-piston brake calipers and rides on 21-inch wheels. Inside, the leather upholstery includes suede door trim and perforated material on the steering wheel. The tread plates have F Sport branding. Depending on the grade, 10 colors will be available: Ultra White, Eminent White Pearl, Nebula Gray Pearl, Iridium, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, Copper Crest, Nori Green Pearl, Nightfall Mica, and Grecian Water. Inside, the new RX has an infotainment screen with a lower position that puts it next to the instrument cluster rather than being on top of the dashboard. A display as large as 14 inches is available. Other available upgrades include a panorama glass roof and a head-up display. Buyers have six upholstery color choices: Macadamia, Black, Birch, Palomino, Peppercorn, and Rioja Red. There are four available trim styles: Black Cascade, Ash Bamboo, Black Open Pore, and Dark Graphite Aluminum.
