  3. Due to expanding family tree, am now considering a MPV. Went through all the MPV available right now, left only the above 2 models by systematic elimination. Anything above $80k got the chop due to budget. Kia Carens and Mazda5 got the chop due to price proximity to Stream and nothing much more significant to offer. Same for Trajet. I know comparing APV and Stream is a bit odd but APV is really attractive with a much bigger interior and about $17k cost saving albeit with worse FC. Other disadvantages comparing to Stream would be the build and ride quality. But it also has a facelifted version coming by Feb/08. Anybody kind souls to give comments on the 2 rides? Especially on the 'livability' of APV? Thanks alot.
  4. I would like to buy extra accessories for my new Suzuki Grand Vitara. I have always wanted to have a car with auto folding mirror and would like to have it on my Grand vitara also. I know Grand Vitara does not come with auto fold mirror but the car was great! That was the only car which suites my family and me. Their package was good, so i went for it. Any idea where to buy it.
  5. http://garage36.blogspot.com/2012/03/tokyo...r-daihatsu.html Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - K-Power! Daihatsu & Suzuki Now that i've hopefully satisfied some appetites for delicious "image girls", it's time to get back to cars. Unmistakably Japanese, you'd often find these 660cc Kei-cars running around town as they zip in between traffic gaps and dart into small tiny lanes. With these cars enjoying such popularity, it is no surprise there are tons and tons of aftermarket support for the little cars from Japan. Although most manufacturers in Japan have their own versions of the K-car, Daihatsu and Suzuki are probably the makes that first come into your mind when you think of these little pocket cars. They may be small in size, but sometimes, they can be big on image. Like the Copen from KLC. Slammed, wild camber, and running on oversized wheels you'd think the little 660cc motor will struggle to move. A different take on the Copen from Grand-Slam, looking a little bit more feminine on the inside. If the above was a "little" bit feminine, this Copen presented by FEEL was that bit "more" girly. Am sure these ladies approve. I honestly have no idea what this is, but it looked good. Slightly old car and built to a different beat, this Mira from Car Produce A.K.R. looked like it was ready to hit the tracks. It doesn't just look crazy, it was also converted to a RWD platform. Awesome.

  9. [extract] It looks like the India market has special likings for off-roaders. After Ford released the EcoSport Concept, Maruti Suzuki presented the XA Alpha concept at the New Dehli Auto Expo 2012. The baby crossover is based on the platform architecture of the familiar Swift model. Measuring 4 meters in length, the five door model is slightly longer than the Swift. The concept is designed in cooperation with Suzuki

  11. Cheaper parts? AFP Wednesday, Jan 04, 2012 TOKYO - Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp. said Wednesday it would build a new engine factory in Indonesia in a bid to help boost output of small cars in the fast-growing Southeast Asian market. The car and motorcycle maker has spent 10 billion yen (S$167 million) on a 1.3 million square-metre (14 million square-foot) site in an industrial park outside Jakarta for its third Indonesian factory, Dow Jones Newswires said. The Nikkei business daily separately said Suzuki's total investment in the project would reach 30 billion yen. The daily also said the investment is part of the company's efforts to boost its production capacity in Indonesia to 150,000 vehicles from the current 120,000. Auto sales in Indonesia jumped by about 60 per cent from a year earlier to around 760,000 vehicles in 2010, the Nikkei said, adding that Indonesia likely became the biggest auto market in Southeast Asia last year. Immediate confirmation of the reports was not available as the company was closed for the extended New Year holiday.
  12. It looks like the relationship between Suzuki Motors Corporation and Volkswagen Group has gone from bad to worse. Some of us might know about the recent reports of Volkswagen threatening to sue its Japanese partner. And now, Suzuki has begun arbitration proceedings against Volkswagen on the 24 November 2011 at the ICC International Court of Arbitration, located in London. If the proceedings are successful, it will force Volkswagen to sell back its stake in the Japanese company back to Suzuki or to a third party approved by Suzuki Motors. The alliance between the two companies began in 2009. Volkswagen Group bought a 19.89% stake in Suzuki and in turn, Suzuki acquired 1.49% of Volkswagen. The alliance was originally intended for Volkswagen to expand in India where Suzuki has experience and sales success. On top of that, Volkswagen will give Suzuki access to its core technologies; technologies which the Japanese automaker could not afford to develop on its own. The partnership began to crumble when Volkswagen mentioned in an annual report that

  15. Suzuki sold 20% to VW for SGD2.8 Billion to gain access to VW R&D but VW refuse to share and sees Suzuki as an investment dump only. Now VW wants to ban Suzuki from outsourcing diesel engine from Fiat. Under their agreement, Suzuki cannot buy back their 20% but VW can buy over 80% if Suzuki drop partnership. Smelly ang mo just like the americans, always trying to bully asians. Now who do u sar.pork ?
  16. It may be too soon to call their relationship ended, but the estranged partnership between Volkswagen and Suzuki has hit a rough patch as the German auto giant threatens to sue its Japanese partner. In 2009, VW purchased a 19.9 percent stake in Suzuki, in the hopes of creating a deeper global alliance that would give Volkswagen coverage in city cars and in emerging markets such as India. In return, Suzuki would have access to VW's parts bin, from which it could develop new vehicles to replace its existing lineup. The alliance has yielded no results, and for the past few months, the partners have been bickering behind the scenes. According to the Wall Street Journal reports, Suzuki chairman, Osamu Suzuki, wrote on the company website that Suzuki "had found nothing it wanted" from its German partner. Following recent comments from Mr Suzuki that the two companies "aren't even talking", Volkswagen Group decided to make these problems public with an official announcement. Europe's largest automotive group said that after reviewing their partnership, it found that Suzuki broke the contract agreement by purchasing diesel engines from another manufacturer. Although VW did not name the "other manufacturer", Suzuki recently made a deal with the Fiat Group to buy its diesel engines. "Volkswagen takes the view that this contradicts the terms of the cooperation agreement. Suzuki has now been given a period of several weeks to remedy the infringement," the German company said in a statement today. "Volkswagen considers this step regrettable, but necessary, and has offered to discuss the matter with Suzuki. At the same time, the company stresses it still regards Suzuki as an attractive investment," VW added. VW said that even though the cooperation is moving slower than expected, it has not yet reached a final decision.
