  1. From a young age, we were taught to avoid "monkey see monkey do" actions by our parents, caretaker, or guardian in the hopes that we do not perform any actions without thinking about consequences. Unfortunately for these two drivers, it seems like they did not pay attention when they were young. Watch this video to find out why: What Happened? A cyclist, Transcab taxi and BMW X1 were stationary at a traffic junction, waiting for the red light to turn green. After observing how the junction was clear from traffic, the impatient cyclist moved off and beat the red light. Seeing how the cyclist proceeded, the taxi driver blindly followed suit, also beating the red light in the process. And amazingly, the BMW X1 did the same thing! The cam car can be seen 'high-beaming' the taxi to alert the taxi driver while it was moving off. But it was to no avail. The Consequence I guess it's a matter of time before the taxi and BMW X1 driver receives their 12 demerit points and $500 fine each. Thank you for contributing to building our nation! As for the cyclist, it's near impossible to identify him due to the absence of any form of identity. And judging by that, I am quite sure he'll get away scot-free. Netizens' Comments LMAO. EXACTLY. Oh wells. 🤷‍♂️ Both drivers bak chew tak stamp!! ========= Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! Simply WhatsApp us ➡️https://bit.ly/3c6JERA

  3. *Disclaimer: The conversation below is satire, written for entertainment purposes only.* Here's how it all went down: What happened? A ComfortDelGro taxi was spotted driving on the pavement in the vicinity of MBS and the ArtScience Museum. This puzzling incident drew the attention of many onlookers, who were curiously staring at the taxi as he navigated his way around the area. WHUTTTT... Taxi drivers may have developed a notorious reputation for being improper and reckless road users over the years. This incident has just added one more to this list – RIDICULOUS. Seriously though. No matter how bad of a driver one is, how on Earth can someone even end up driving along the pavement outside of a shopping mall/Museum??? Is this a case of GPS misguidance, or did the taxi driver happen to navigate his way up the pavement after getting lost? I guess this incident unveils a flaw in MBS' signage and security framework. Netizens' Comments What a bunch of savage comments, the person filming wasn't spared either. I LOL-ED at this comment. If you didn't get it, its related to the cycling craze where people started "drawing" animals on Strava (GPS-based Application) as they cycled around Singapore. Maybe can consider upgrading to the Hyundai Kona Electric SUV – Off-road capability + Reduced carbon emissions. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 4. The age-old debate on whether cyclists should be allowed on the road continues. Watch this video, to find out why the debate never ends: The incident happened along Nicoll Drive, in the vicinity of Changi Beach Park. The video was from the cyclist's perspective, who was cycling relatively fast at the said location. What happened? As the cyclist approached a junction, a Comfort Delgro taxi emerged from the filter lane. However, the taxi is seen not stopping at the stop line. The cyclist's fast speed, coupled with his late reaction caused him to be unable to stop in time. As a result, he ended up colliding against the side of the taxi. Yes, having a set of good brakes for a bicycle or car is necessary, but what is more important is to practice defensive riding/driving at all times. Upon seeing how much the inconsiderate taxi driver inched out to the main road, the cyclist should have either slowed down or swerved away from the taxi. Netizens' comments No, don't tell me, "You think they fix Brembo?". If the cyclist's brakes cannot perform at the speed at which his bike is capable of going, don't ride it at all - It is a safety hazard to the cyclist and other road users. That's like having drum brakes on your Honda Civic Type R 🙄 I can't stop stressing the importance of defensive riding. The aftermath Shortly after the collision, the drivers of a black Porsche and white BMW could be seen stopping to help the injured cyclist. Below is an account of the cyclist's experience: Kudos to those 2 guys that helped the injured cyclist!! Yes, cycling may be a fun hobby that keeps you healthy. However, it is not worth risking your life over it. If you really want to "enjoy" the speed and ride on the road, remember to wear proper safety and equipment. Whenever possible, maintain a safe speed and slow down near junctions. PS. Did I mention how apt the NDP2021 theme song, "Road ahead" was in the video? --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 5. An impatient Mercedes taxi driver repeatedly honks aggressively at cyclists and recklessly drives like a 10/10 a**hole. On Monday (Aug 9), a group of cyclists were cycling along the junction of Thomson Road and Balestier Road at seven in the morning when they encountered a rude taxi driver. The Mercedes taxi driver could be seen tailgating the cyclists as they turned right at the junction in the video. He aggressively honked at them despite not being in the same lane as the cyclists. Towards the end, the taxi suddenly sped up and cut in front of the group. The taxi then took the left filter lane towards Whitley Road without observing the proper safety distance. LTA's rules and regulations for cycling on the road While the cyclists received backlash for riding on the roads, it seemed that they were following the proper rules and regulations. They were wearing helmets, rode in a single file as close to the left-hand edge as possible and switched on their front and rear lights. They were decked out in national colours and did not use any mobile communication devices while riding on the road. Netizens’ reactions While there is a stigma towards cyclists, there is no need to be such an a** towards them. If the taxi driver wanted to warn the cyclists, he could have honked once instead of continuously honking at them. Besides that, his reckless behaviour could have resulted in a severe accident on National Day.
  6. TRANSPORT operator SMRT will bring in its first batch of 300 electric vehicles from July this year, as it aims to replace its entire taxi fleet with electric vehicles within the next five years. The fleet of electric vehicles to be launched could include various models well suited to meet the demands of the transport market. These could include sedans, station wagons and multi-purpose vehicles, SMRT said in a press statement on Tuesday. Going electric with taxis is part of SMRT's growth strategy in green businesses under Strides Mobility, its sustainable urban mobility services arm. This strategy includes developing sustainable mobility solutions and introducing mobility services using electric vehicles, including taxis, cars, vans, limousines, motorcycles and buses. Said Tan Kian Heong, president of SMRT Road Holdings: "In line with Singapore's Green Plan, we are excited to be among the first point-to-point transport operators to commit to the deployment of electric taxis on a large scale. This is a key part of our plan to incorporate principles of sustainability into each of our businesses to bring sustainable urban mobility services to our customers." https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/transport/smrt-to-progressively-replace-taxi-fleet-with-electric-vehicles-within-five-years
  7. Two pedestrians jaywalk across a junction in Bangkit Road and almost lost their lives. In this short clip, two men jog across a pedestrian crossing on a red light. As they almost reached the other end of the crossing, a yellow taxi quickly zooms past them. The vehicle nearly hits the uncle at the front, who notices the car and slows down for a second. The camcar follows the taxi as it slows down further up the road, with the driver claiming that the taxi uncle had the fright of his life after encountering the two jaywalkers. Although the taxi had the right of way, the driver should have practiced defensive driving and slow down when approaching the junction. Just because the light is red for pedestrians does not mean that there won't be any jaywalkers around. However, there is no excuse for jaywalkers to think they own the road and that the vehicles will slow down for them. Jaywalking is an offense in Singapore and it merits a fine of $50 for first-time offenders. Personally, I think the most entertaining thing in this video is the adorable way that the uncle slows down when he notices the taxi as he jaywalks/jayruns. The manner in which he crosses the road is mildly feminine as well, which raises some eyebrows. Netizens' reactions TBH, I don't feel like there's a need for these two men to jaywalk across the junction. Why so 'kanchiong'? If they were any slower, they would have been caught in a terrible accident and the driver might lose his license. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 8. A taxi driver falls victim to a van driver's road rage when he obstructs the path of the van driver. There are two videos of the incident. 1. Taxi driver's POV 2. Passenger of the taxi's POV The taxi driver's POV The clip starts with the taxi driver moving off after dropping a passenger at Loyang Rise. As there are numerous cars parked along the lane and obstructing his right of way, he decides to travel on the opposing lane. He notices a black van from afar and stops his vehicle, hoping that the van driver will let him pass before moving on. However, the van proceeds to move forward and blocks the taxi's path. WhatsApp Video 2021-07-28 at 9.30.06 AM.mp4 The passenger's POV Now, let's have a look at the passenger's perspective. We can hear the taxi driver honking at the van as the van intentionally moves forward despite the taxi obstructing its path. The van driver honks back in retaliation before hurling vulgarities and shouting at the taxi driver. This left the taxi with no choice but to reverse and angle his car slightly towards a small gap in the middle of the road to let the van pass. The passenger has also stated that the driver kept trying to intimidate the taxi uncle while he tried to give way to him. Before the taxi driver could properly reverse and adjust the angle of his car, the van impatiently tried to go around the vehicle and ended up hitting the taxi's side mirror. The taxi driver sounds this off to the van driver only to be answered with a string of vulgarities yet again. Netizens' reactions Even if the van has the right of way, the driver's behaviour was abysmal and disgusting to watch. There is no need for aggressive remarks while the other party is trying to let him pass. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 9. Hi any bros heard of the new comfort taxi app Zig? Giving out free $3 off with every ride using ZIG3OFF promo code. Don't know whether it's true but I'm going to try it later. Anybody got lobang for other promo codes can share here?
  10. We thought ComfortDelGro taxi drivers should be the most well-mannered taxi drivers on our island based on service standards, but this driver's actions made us stop and think. What made us think otherwise? This video of a very pissed-off taxi driver confronting the cam car driver for sounding his horn at him. Rewinding back to how it all started, the cam car can be heard sounding his horn at the taxi driver after a passenger gets off at a sheltered crossing. The taxi driver then proceeds to move off slowly, triggering the cam car driver to toot his horn in impatience. The taxi driver does not react to the first horn which leads to a few more horns from cam car. This is where it gets interesting. The taxi driver's pissed off at this point, he takes his time to slowly drive into the carpark and stops on the second level to confront the cam car driver. We don't really know what happened after the taxi driver got off his taxi since most of the clip is on mute. Thankfully, no one got hurt in this road rage incident. Could this have been avoided if the cam car just overtook the taxi at the shelter? Let us know! Not an isolated incident That is not the end of the story though. Someone else has also been a victim to the same taxi driver's road rage.

  12. Hi guys, we have more trouble-making cyclists to report. Uploaded on SG Road Vigilante's page is an incident between a cyclist and a SMRT taxi on 7th of Feb 2021 at around 2pm along Kallang road. All was well until the taxi driver wanted to turn into Crawford Street but realised that two cyclists was in his way. Realising that the cyclists wasn't going to give way, the taxi slowed down and slotted himself behind the cyclists before turning left. However, it seemed that one of the cyclist felt that the taxi driver had endangered his life when the taxi made his first move to filter left and proceeded to chase the taxi. We have no idea why he would do that. Did he think that he could chase the taxi and stop him with his bicycle? That is putting aside the fact that the taxi already gave way to him anyway. We pity the friend who was abandoned due to the cyclist's impulsive rage and it was no surprise that netizens flamed the cyclist's actions big time...
  13. Seen on Mothership.sg is a family of otters trying to cross Orchard Road near Plaza Singapura over the weekend. With more than 10 of them in the family, the leader of the pack tried a few times to cross the road despite the heavy traffic. According to the article, the otters, which were squeaking, turned around twice as they realised it was not the right time to cross yet. We bet it must have been nerve-wrecking for everyone viewing this, especially the last part where a yellow CityCab taxi nearly couldn't stop in time for them. Thankfully, all of them made it across eventually.
  14. This is why, in driving school, the instructors are always going on and on and on about checking for oncoming traffic when making a discretionary right turn, because you never know who or what might be coming from the other side. At the junction of North Coast Road and Woodlands Ave 9, this motorcyclist unfortunately did forget what he learned in driving school, seeing as he took off without fully checking if there were any other oncoming vehicles. Thankfully for him, his bike seemed to take the brunt of the impact, even though the rider did go flying in the air a little. He even is able to look up after landing beside the taxi. The taxi also seems to have slowed down just enough before impact. Sometimes, taking those extra few seconds to check for oncoming traffic while making a discretionary turn won't hurt. Especially if your view of oncoming traffic is blocked by a large vehicle. Better late than injured or worst, right?
  15. Have you encountered trouble at carpark entries and realised that you needed to have another go with the IU scanner but the car behind is so close that you cant even reverse a tiny bit? We sure have and know how troublesome it is get the car behind to reverse so that you can re do the IU scan. Often, the driver behind refuses to bulge leaving you in an awkward position and frustrated at the driver behind you. Something like this happened on 22nd of October 2020 at Crawford Court between a Prius Trans-Cab and an unknown camera car. However, egos and tempers got the best of them and things turned out ugly. Who was in the wrong? Watch the video as posted by SG Road Vigilante and let us know in the comments below!
  16. We all know cyclists should cycle on either the PCN or on the roads. But being on the road can be dangerous for cyclists who don't know how to look out for themselves as we can see in the video posted by SG Road Vigilante on the 28th of October. Shot in the morning by a camera car on Clemenceau Ave, the cyclist could be seen changing lanes to the right without checking for traffic coming up from the right. Unfortunately, a Comfort taxi did really come up on the right at a good speed and just barely managed to avoid knocking him down. That said, the taxi's wing mirror did knock the cyclist off balance, causing him to fall. Do you think cyclists who wish to cycle on the road ought to undergo the Basic Theory Test at a minimum? We highly think so. Let us know if you agree with us or not in the comments section! https://fb.watch/1rcEp62JAl/
  17. Maybe they were in a rush or had some emergency to attend to? But no matter what it is, there is still almost no excuse to cross the road when the lights tell you not to. 2 young teens were knocked down by a taxi along Paya Lebar road on 1st of Oct 2020 as they crossed the road while the light wasn't in their favour. The 17 year-old female pedestrian was conscious when taken to Raffles Hospital while the male refused to be taken to hospital according to The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). He seemed to suffer from some bleeding from his knee but was still able to move around on his own. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, said the police. Check out the various angles of the accident video on SG Road Vigilante.
  18. Now this can be a scary sight for those living close to the incident. A Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid taxi has apparently caught fire caught fire in an open air carpark at Block 201 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 on 18 September. As reported by Stomp, flames and smoke can be seen engulfing a black car (likely a Seat SUV) and nearly catching a Toyota Hiace van that narrowly managed to escape. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted to the fire at 10.55pm and they managed to "extinguish the fire using one water jet and three compressed air foam backpacks," said an SCDF spokesman. The cause of fire is under investigation and no injuries have been reported.
  19. ComfortDelgro Taxi With Cameras Isn’t Traffic Police Car, SPF Says It’s For Driver’s Training source: https://mustsharenews.com/comfortdelgro-taxi-cameras/ ComfortDelgro Taxi With Cameras On Hood Isn’t A Traffic Police Vehicle Cameras in public spaces tend to carry connotations of surveillance, and several atop a ComfortDelgro taxi are no different. A picture of such a taxi made its rounds on messaging platforms recently, with people suspecting that it could be a Traffic Police car. The Singapore Police Force (SPF), however, has come forward to debunk the rumours today (16 Sep). So if your uncles and aunties have been spreading the fake news, do let them know. ComfortDelgro taxi with cameras not Traffic Police car Photos of a taxi with several cameras attached to its body started circulating online and on messaging platforms recently. Perhaps noticing the unusual sight of the very visible cameras, some netizens came to their own conclusions that it was a Traffic Police vehicle in disguise. Word spread quickly, and soon the rumours reached the police, who promptly denied the inaccurate information. Taxi is used for training purposes Hoping to stop the fake news from spreading, SPF got in touch with ComfortDelgro Taxi to clarify the purpose of the cameras. The company then explained that the equipment is a temporary installment solely for training purposes. The public thus has no cause for concern if they spot a ComfortDelgro taxi with similar fittings on the road. Be careful of fake news After the spread of the messages, SPF advised members of the public to be more cautious of unverified information. Since they circulate online indiscriminately these days, they may lead many to believe in false accounts. Therefore, we should remember to check the validity of our sources before sharing information, to avoid spreading fake news. Share this advisory with your family, so they’ll keep it in mind before spreading unverified information to others.
  20. For those who have been receiving texts via your favourite messaging applications that a ComfortDelGro taxi fitted with several cameras is a Traffic Police vehicle, you guys have been smoked. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) have noticed that the following image has been circulating around and has clarified that it is not part of their fleet. On their Facebook page, SPF contacted ComfortDelGro and verified that the equipment is temporarily installed on this taxi for training purposes. Members of the public are advised to exercise discretion and not circulate unverified information indiscriminately. Here are what some neitzens have to say on SPF's Facebook page...
  21. Now this is a good one for debating. Do you think the lady in the Honda Shuttle is wrong, or its just the taxi driver being difficult? As shown on SG Road Vigilante's page, a clip shot by a Premier taxi driver, shows a lady in her Honda Shuttle blocking the drop off/pickup point of Katong Shopping Center on 7th of Aug 2020. The reason she is blocking everyone is that she wanted to reverse into the parallel lot beside the taxi but in order for her to do so, all the cars, including the taxi behind, her has to reverse. Now that can be quite a hassle to everyone... So without seeing the first part of this incident, could it be that the taxi driver was being difficult from the start and could have just reversed for her to go into the lot? Or do you guys reckoned that the Honda driver was just a little bit too self-entitled?
  22. A video of an accident between an AETOS car and a taxi has become viral. The video was uploaded on Singapore Road Accident's Facebook page less than 13 hours ago and has since garnered 267 shares! If you haven't seen the video, here you go! In the video, the AETOS driver makes a right turn when the right-turn arrow is in the red. The oncoming taxi was unable to brake in time and crashed head-on into the side of the AETOS car. How do we know this? The video is so blurred! It's a simple skill of deduction, my dear Watson. Spot it? Just in case, here's how it should look to make a proper right turn. Now compare it with the screenshot above. Potong Jalan siol A few second after the crash, the AETOS driver starts shouting (to no one in particular): "Potong Jalan siol." I always thought that this phrase meant "steal" or "walked away". Like "I potong jalan-ed his girlfriend." Ooooh. Thanks, Smart Local! I digress. There was no way the taxi “potong-ed” the AETOS driver because the taxi had the right of way. If you don’t speak Malay, you might have missed this I went through the video with my Malay-speaking colleagues, and they picked up something interesting. At 0.33 – 0.35 ish of the video, the driver says "Kau suroh jalan eh?" - "you said move eh?". This was probably directed to the passenger who told him to go ahead and make the turn at the start of the video. This AETOS driver damn fast to push blame sia. What the people say Another guy caught it too! And, yes, I hope everyone is fine as well. It was quite a hard crash. Agreed. There’s always a practical commenter. Is it?
  23. Gonna be without a car next month. Gotto wait at least 6 weeks for replacement to arrive. May have to take taxi or MRT. Realized I have close to 2k to spend on public transport every month vis a vis having my own ride. That's like $60 or more a day......... Hmmmmmm even if I book taxi, seems like the cost is still cheaper cos I travel less than 80km a day and some days I dun even use the car. When you pre book the taxi, services are ok ya. There must be many people like me........... If more car owners switch to taxi, COE will drop for sure...... but too late for me. 😜😝😛
  24. ComfortDelGro Cabbies Training To Deliver RedMart Groceries By End-Apr, Expect More Delivery Slots Soon source: https://mustsharenews.com/comfortdelgro-redmart-delivery/ ComfortDelGro, Lazada Collaboration Means Cabbies Will Help Deliver RedMart Groceries, To Cope With Rising Demand If you’ve tried ordering groceries off online supermarket RedMart recently, you’ll know how impossible it is to snag a delivery slot, thanks to the steep rise in people staying at home and ordering in due to the ‘Circuit Breaker’ measures. This problem may soon become a thing of the past, as ComfortDelGro has announced that they are collaborating with Lazada to deliver RedMart groceries to customers by the end of April. Read on for more details about the taxi drivers’ new duties. Meeting the increase in demand Now that people have been advised to stay in, many are opting for online delivery services like RedMart. The online grocer has seen a jump in their number of orders since February this year, and has been working to meet customers’ demands. ComfortDelGro cabbies to deliver RedMart groceries Now that the Government has temporarily eased point-to-point regulations to allow taxi drivers and private-hire vehicle drivers to perform deliveries, some ComfortDelGro cabbies will be helping RedMart deliver groceries in the near future, said the transport company in a press release on Tuesday (14 Apr). ComfortDelGro cabbies who are interested can sign up for the programme. They will undergo necessary training from RedMart in contactless deliveries before starting their new duties. If all goes according to plan, they’ll be helping out with deliveries by the end of this month. With the added help from ComfortDelGro taxis, they’ll be able to cater to the influx of orders better. Guess we’ll all be able to get our groceries delivered during the ‘Circuit Breaker’ period after all! Win-win-win situation for all This doesn’t benefit just RedMart, which will be able to get more of their products out in less time, and their customers – who will have an easier time finding delivery slots – but also cabbies, who will be able to earn a living during these tough times. ComfortDelGro Taxi’s chief operating officer Tommy Tan said in the statement, Lazada eLogistics Singapore executive vice-president Jamil Khan expounded on the benefits of the tie-up by saying, ComfortDelGro cabby Lim Yong Tze, who is one of the drivers who will be trained to deliver groceries, is looking forward to the training, and also said, Supporting each other through the ‘Circuit Breaker’ It’s great to see companies rolling out measures and collaborations to help their workers get through this slow period. Lest you think delivery riders are raking it in due to the increase in orders, many are still not making much, due to the increased competition. So do consider showing your support by tipping them if you can, or leaving a good review. Okay. Now there is one more reason for you to stay home and save lives!
