Bt Panjang residents complain new bamboo holders hazardous Tuesday, January 19 Bukit Panjang residentsChannel NewsAsia - recently complained about the Town Council's newly installed bamboo holders for drying laundry. The new holders, being 2.5mm smaller in diameter, meant that the older poles used by the residents no longer fit. I applaud the Town Council's kindness in spending the money for the new pole holders which, according to them, "comply with HDB design requirements". But you do know there is a simpler way to check if the pole holders were the right size, right? It's called Ask the Residents to Lend You Their Pole for a While. SINGAPORE : New bamboo holders for drying laundry have some residents in Bukit Panjang up in arms. Residents at Pending Road said their bamboo poles are too big to fit into the new holders, increasing the risk of falling poles. The new holders are 2.5 mm smaller in diameter than the original holders. Some 2,900 units at Pending Road had their old bamboo holders changed

Maybe it's just my luck but I think I have came across quite a number of Forte or Avante drivers who have this "I am driving a luxury car" look on their face and think they own the road attitude..... JUST A FORTE OR AVANTE LAH FRIEND!!! GIVE ME I ALSO WONT DRIVE :P I am not sure whether to be disgusted or to laugh it as a big joke.. Ok RANT OVER!

i was learning driving around 8pm+ today and suddenly behind me, a van crept up behind me and it was pretty unnerving to see the van until its too late. what they want? cause an accident? headlight faulty or they wanna save battery? thanks for hearing me rant -
do u guys wash ur own car? till now, i never wash my own car b4 leh... coz i si beh lazy but tinking of doing it one day to see if there is any fun doing it.... juz a few question..wat kind of stuff should i buy? the cloth use to clean the car body n window? r they the same? or should use diff material? wad brand of car shampoo or wax? tire need polishing? (altought i tink its funny to do it coz will get dirty as soon as the move) den for interior, use wad to clean/polish? leather seats? is there any other equipt tat i need to buy? would like to know wad brand is recommened? not too ex one.. normal use for a small car can liao would appreciate ur kind advise....

Last night, together with another 2 friends we went to a Chinese restaurant @ Internation building to have buffet dinner. We reached the restaurant about 6:50pm and sitted quite near from the kitchen. We placed some orders for appetizer and some main course. The first 2 appetizer were served in about 5 min later. After that we waited and waited, finished eating the 2 appetizer, the rest of the food still are not served. We ask the waitress, they say its coming... Another 20 min gone so we asked for the lady manager. She say kitchen short handed but the food will be served shortly. Then she walked towards the kitchen and shouted to the kitchen crews in hokkien, "Table 21 hurry up, table 21 Kao pei liao!" It was so loud that 3 of us can hear clearly. Then I asked the manager why she say us "Kao pei"? We asked her politely and the food indeed are very slow in serving. She apologized and say not enough staffs in the kitchen and worked till very stress. I say we also worked till very stress so after work meet for dinner. Somemore, celebrating on of our friend birthday. She then say oh, happy birthday to my friend and say she dun mean to say us. Its just the way they talk to the kitchen crews. Asking us not to mind about it. We ordered mussels but waited for 2 hours then they serve. They say they missed out this food together with 3 other dishes. In fact we already asked them when we waited for 1 hour they say ok they will serve but still din serve.. We were saying try not to spoil our own mood, since settled down liao then jus enjoy ourselves. But... If you were me, will you bring up to their management? Call in? Write in?

i notice there are more taxis with headlights that irritate. one side is high beam, the other side is normal. i think they purposely adjust it. they should know its dangerous to other road users. have you encounter such misaligned headlights?

I believe everyone has problems of their own when they are 'brought into' this world...some might have more problems than others( which are really of their own doing )...while others have lesser problems ( which again are due to personal choices made by themselves). Whatever it is, the path you chose, is the path you will take and suffer along with it. To change that path but asking for lots of money to lessen your personal issues is just like telling others.. 'Hey!..I messed up my life and now I have brought another life into this world so can you all donate money to resolve MY problems? I myself won't buy the above statement...but I believe there are alot of ppl who think they're are doing good by donating to such cause! What's your take? ================================================================= The only real recourse is to have ppl behaving responsibly and making good and sound judgement, based on what eventual outcome that will befall them!

...Till end March ONLY..... Details: 1. Collect you from your house IN YOUR CAR. 2. Drive you to work, and head off to svcing centre 3. Collect car for you and fetch you back. I can either bus to your place or i drive there and park there.... Total only $80. ps: RICKSTER, you wan to join or not... NB: There will be a collective agreement you have to sign, as there will be risks....like another clown hitting your car on the way to the centre, etc. Other variants to this can be discussed to minimise the exposure.
