  1. From Sin Chiew Daily. Letter from the thief who stole the Selangor Chief of Police's car last week. A letter from a car thief 2010-05-10 11:31 Dear Datuk, I really did not know that it was your car. Please believe me that I really did not realise that it was a police chief's official car. However, why was it my target among so many cards in Selangor? Moreover, it was only an ordinary Proton. Please do not blame me. Even though it was an inadvertence, there was a reason behind it. Our industry has been rapidly grew in recent years and there are markets for new, old, domestic, imported, luxury and ordinary cars. Even if it is just an old Proton, some of its parts can still be sold for money. That was also why your car was targeted that day. Please do not blame the poor anti-theft system, and do not be angry with the additional car security system. In fact, these devices are just decorations for car thieves in Malaysia . They are not even a challenge for us. Even for expensive security equipment, which is usually installed in luxury cars with satellite tracking system that can stop engine operation, we can still break it within the first 10 minutes, drive it onto a container another 10 minutes later, send it to Port Klang after another 20 minutes and it takes another 10 minutes to ship it to foreign country. As for your car, it required only 2 minutes. The business is too good while the crime detection rate...I am sorry, but I think we do not need to mention more about it. In terms of the rate of return, it is indeed a non-risky business with extraordinarily high returns that does not require any capital at all. It is certainly the most promising industry in Malaysia with the largest development space. Even during the national econo mic doldrums, it can still contribute to the country's econo mic growth. For example, the second-hand spare parts market, from engines to cup holders, is largely relying on our supply. Also, we can earn a lot of foreign exchange if we sell the cars to foreign countries. The high stolen car rate and low crime detection rate also led to the development of the insurance industry. We should also be credited for the increase of premiums. Datuk, if you do not want your car to be stolen again next time, the only way is to write a note stating your identity and display it on your dashboard. We would be very delighted to give you our full cooperation. Also, I saw that police forensic officers were trying to search for clues in the car. It was a tough work for them for sure. I forgot to leave another note to tell you that I had actually asked someone to thoroughly wash your car for a few times. If fingerprints are found, you may get the samples from the Immigration. They belong to a Bangladesh . I had removed the Global Positioning System (GPS) in your car to avoid leaving any record. Initially, I was planning to install a more advanced system for you, but as I was in a bit of rush this time, so maybe next time. If you suddenly find a new navigation system in your car one day, please take it as a gift from me. You do not have to know when your car is being touched again and I promise, I will not cause any damage to the lock of the door any more next time. As for the command baton, just give it to me as a souvenir. I like it very much as every night before going to bed, I can imagine myself waving the baton and leading the Royal Malaysian Police to work hard. P/S: I think it is time for you to change another car! Yours sincerely, Car thief

  3. Thief leaves trail to own home Wed, Mar 04, 2009 The Star/Asia News Network MUAR, MALAYSIA - A thief left a trail of black oil that leaked from two generators that he stole from a farm to his house about a kilometre away near Bukit Bakri. Farm owner Chia Kok Guan, who found his generators missing on Sunday morning, asked his workers about the machines. His Indonesian workers told him that they heard a vehicle entering the farm at about 2am on Sunday but did not know what had been stolen. The workers were shocked when told that two generators were missing from a hut in the farm and after checking the surrounding area they saw a trail of black oil on the dirt road. Chia followed the trail which led to a house about 1km away and lodged a police report. When policemen arrived at the house at about 6pm, the thief had fled. "But we managed to find the generators near the house," said Chia yesterday. Meanwhile, police have taken the two generators to the police station as evidence and launched an operation to track down the thief. The Star/Asia News Network

  5. I know this have been posted many times, but i would just like to share a first hand encounter a few hrs back at 930pm in JB. Was with another friend in a shell petrol kiosk about 4km away from checkpoint, it was populated with Singapore cars as usual, brightly lit. So didnt think much about safety issue. I took my wallet out to take my credit card for pumping of petrol, this guy in shell uniform told me to take the card n put my wallet back into the car, which i did so. Thereafter he warned me that it is v dangerous n that i should lock my car, he even asked me to warn my friend to shut the boot cause it is not safe. I really thought he was being over worried, bt just as my friend close the boot n i was about to lock the car, i heard a shout from the other side of the car, the next thing i know was that my friend was on the ground, holding on to her bag with the man trying to snatch it away, n in a second he gave up n sped away with another man who was on a motorbike. *my friend said the man open the car door n took the bag, she snatch it away from him* before that i was thought, it would never happen to me.... but now.... it would happen to anyone.
  6. take down your serial number and report to the police once your cashcard is stolen, not many pple do that including myself. last night around 9pm, i was waitin in my friend's car for another friend to come. we were chatting den i see this guy walking around at the opp MSCP. he was slowly lookin at every bikes, n den at some point, he went to touch somewhere near their speedo he den went up to the 2nd story, we decided to drive up n saw him trying to lift up my friends bike cover. he saw us coming and walk off, we decided not to confront him as we are still unsure what is he looking for and continue to watch him he went out in the open carpark n remove a coupon from another bike (i suspect he knows we are watching and hes trying to create a diversion) he den cross the road, my other friend came, n i decided to go on foot, the rest drove to the opp carpark, spotted him again, fiddling with their IUs so it is confirm now he is indeed lookin for cashcards. i continue to follow him while the rest call the police. i follow him and he went a few more streets doing the same thing, at one point we were face to face as i walk in another direction, he saw me another time few streets later n he start to panic, he knew he was bein followed, so decided to switch with my friend to go on foot n i drive, i blown my cover, lol same thing followed for 30mins, no police in sight, we were constantly updating them of his location, at one, point, he entered one block, n went up the lift, seeing that the lift stopped at 5th floor , i sprinted up the stairs only to turn left to catch him taking of his shoes abt to enter a unit, he stays there !, he was shock to see me outside his home, i also shock to see him cos i didnt expect him to live on the first unit from the lift. i look him in the eye n left. his face was white like ghost police came ard 15mins later, n went up they questioned him for ard an hr n police took our statement, police told us, they are unable to do anything as they search his home but could not find anythiung, he admitted to opening IUs of bikes but he claim he was trying to test his own cashcard,i told the police he is BS, cos he walk from ST 51 to ST 11 and he even try to lift my friends bike cover. the police says they only can take down his particulars, give him a stern warning and wait for reports for lost cashcard to come in. the guy is in his 20s, chinese male, speaks good english, sgporean, quite decent looking.. if i know this would be the outcome, i seriously would wallop him at my blk first. few yrs back, my friend n i chrome one panty stealer under our blk until he beg us on his knees only to receive a slipper mark on his **** face. since somone already set the standard for non seizable offence, like broken teeth (gang attack at tamp ) n broken nose (navy maj vs doctor) i think if the law cant handles it, we got to handle it ourselves the incident happen in pasir ris. so pls note down your s/n of ur cashcard n report for lost. i believe if many reported cash card theft, they will take some action.
  7. Thief nailed selling a million stolen screws Fri Sep 28, 2007 1:42 PM ET BERLIN (Reuters) - A German factory worker stole over a million screws from his employer and skewed the market with his cheap stolen goods, police said Friday. "In the end, it became obvious that screws were being sold for much less than they usually cost," said a spokesman for police in the southern city of Wuerzburg. Over two years, the 33-year-old assembly plant worker smuggled between 2,000 and 7,000 screws out of work each night, and auctioned them on an Internet site, police said. The scheme cost his firm around 110,000 euros ($156,000). The man confessed after officers raided his home.

  11. Hi guys. Was visited by cops in the morning on this case. Apparently, that idiot gave up after few attempts as the glass refused to give way. He was aiming for the cashcard. The other lorry was not so lucky as the screen was totally smashed with a hole so as to gain access to the IU unit. Now I need to change this windscreen of mine. I cannot claim insurance as I am on Third Party Fire and Theft from China Insurance. Could anyone know where can i fix this problema and the cost? I am on Honda Jazz. Any other advice appreciated. Thank you.
