  1. Dear Sifus, kindly help, afraid was caught picking up my daughter just 45 min ago (around 1810hrs) at Tanah Merah MRT 2 taxis there waiting, stop behind the second taxi to pick up my daughter who is already waiting LTA officer nearby taking camera photos (seems like taking photos of the taxi and my car) Did not block any vehicles for that few seconds and did not cross over the bus lane earlier (confirm dotted bus lane when I filtered from 2nd lane to left most lane) Have I committed any offence? If offence, can I appeal that I am not aware not supposed to use taxi stand to pick up anyone (sincerely don't know or perhaps did not pay attention to my highway code yrs ago). search this forum, no clues. additional questions - how abt bus stop? can drop off (if no bus lane)?

  3. The following is an illustration based on high level estimates: In 2014, new car registrations total 28,932. http://www.lta.gov.sg/content/dam/ltaweb/corp/PublicationsResearch/files/FactsandFigures/MVP02-2_New_Cars_by_make.pdf Proportion of luxurious car (my definition mercs, volvo, etc) vs bb cars (my definition toyota, subaru, honda etc) is 50:50. Just an estimate for illustration purpose. Basic new car price 100K Maximum 200K Average 150K Coe of an average car 70k Import taxes etc 40k Total coe and taxes 110k Estimated coe and taxes collected in 2014: 28,932 cars x $110,000 = $3,182,520,000 That's $3.2 billion and the amount excludes commercial vehicles and taxis.
  4. Hi all What a nice morning to have today, as usual when i was about to turn into the carpark , i have noticed this white Lancer EX , being stationary on the lane beside me. As this is a one lane road, why should this driver just parked his car on the lane leading to the exit of the carpark which caused inconvience to the others , btw he had his P plate hung up there. After i had parked, walked passed the car at 1015am, went for my breakfast, came back its still there at 1130am...and when i was about to leave the CP, several cars where delayed due to this car parked there ...haiz...So what do you think ? 7. This thread is for Soccer Manager, the totally pointless game we love to hate. Currently we are mass orgy-ing in World Championship 6223 - Game world ID 28826World Championship 9191 - Game world ID 50548MCF Premier League - Game World ID 60665 (by application only) Register yourself and pit yourself against some of the brightest brains in the world of footy management. Square up against the legendary White One (not so legendary lately), the irrepressible Little Prince (press harder babe!) or the mercurial Lclub (mercurial = blardy inconsistant). Tear your hair out by drawing with the most tedious bus driver or lose all your dignity being trashed by a pussy. Find out that Takumi can beat you in driving and managing and Tarzan yells command at his players while swinging from stand to stand. We will eat you for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 3 times a day.

  13. http://www.allsingaporestuff.com/article/3269800-singapore-citizens-think-lee-hsien-loong-good-prime-minister 3,269,800 SINGAPORE CITIZENS THINK LEE HSIEN LOONG IS A GOOD PRIME MINISTER by Wan Dan Liao, Straight Times In the usual bid to raise public awareness that PAP is a lousy political party with a lousy Prime Minister in-charge, opposition party members and their supporters have booked Hong Lim Park Speaker Corner for an event yesterday (5 July). The event questioned whether Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is the right person to lead Singapore and whether he should resign had attracted a respectable crowd of 200 in the backdrop of the recent public uproar against the government's unfettered use of citizens' CPF monies. Among the speakers were alien spotter Mr Goh Meng Seng, former Secretary General of the National Solidarity Party who believes AVA had let down Singaporeans by allowing food imports from Fukushima, Japan where radiation contamination is still believed to be in that area. Another speaker, Mr Tan Kin Lian, former President-hopeful and former NTUC Income CEO pointed out the obvious: Cost of living in Singapore is too damn high. Memorized by the theatrics and comedy, the crowd was visibly upset when one of the speakers Mr Mohammed Bashir, who has insensitively and seriously pointed out "there was no viable opposition in Singapore". He was boo-ed and heckled off the stage. One of the bystanders, Cao Ji Bai, holding back his tears, said, "Look! What rights do these speakers have to ask Lee Hsien Loong to abdicate? Don't these people understand the Lee Dynasty has existed for the past 50 years and they will continue to reign for at least another 50 years?". Mr Cao is holding on to a copy of Lee Kuan Yew's memoirs - The Singapore Story. "I carry this book with me to remind me of the sacrifices that the Supreme Leader has made for our motherland." The Singapore 2011 census counted 3,270,000 Singapore Citizens. With only a turn up of 200 at the Hong Lim Park yesterday, that is an indicator of the overwhelming support that Lee Hsien Loong has because 3,269,800 others did not turn up. Osman Sulaiman, the organiser of the event and a member of National Solidarity Party said the turn up could be better. "You all never help me promote the event lah. So many social political websites in Singapore but they also also never help me promote this event. You see lah. What solidarity? Sian. 14. SINGAPORE: The Philippine embassy in Singapore has asked the Singapore Government to hold a blogger accountable for a blog post that encourages Singaporeans to show intolerance for Filipinos. The post on the blog "Blood Stained Singapore" offered pointers on how Singaporeans can show displeasure with Filipinos without breaking the law. It has been widely circulated on social media, with many people flagging it as racist and offensive. A statement on the website of the Philippine embassy in Singapore on Tuesday (June 17) says it immediately communicated to the Singapore Government that appropriate action should be taken against the blogger in accordance with the law. Police confirmed that reports have been lodged in connection with the blog. A spokesperson said that investigations are ongoing, but offered no further details. The statement from the Philippine embassy in Singapore said it believes the views of the blogger do not reflect the general beliefs of people in Singapore. The embassy also advised Filipinos not to stoop to the level of the blogger by responding in kind, as the blogger "clearly intends to create friction". And it encouraged Filipinos here to continue their good work to enhance Philippine-Singapore relations. The original blog post in question, dated May 24, appeared to be taken down, but was republished on Monday (June 16). The posts appear to violate the terms of blog-publishing service Blogger. A statement on the Google-owned platform says "material that promotes hatred toward groups based on race or ethnic origin" is not allowed on Blogger.

  17. Copied over from a US Porsche forum. But general principles should apply to all cars in accidents - don't be too quick to write off small dents - hit it in the right spot and its going to be structural! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
