  1. For those who will be driving to One Fullerton on Christmas Eve and New Year Eve take note, the parking charge is $12 PER ENTRY! Usual is $6 per entry? That is very expensive!
  2. I just want one speed warning and 1 speeding notice on the same road on 2 different dates. The speed limit on that road is only 50KM/H and these b------ds are hiding with speed cameras in the morning. There is no overhead bridge along that stretch so I have no idea where they are hiding. Just a warning to those travelling along that stretch of road in the morning.
  3. Hi all, recently c quite a number of cars with non-polishable, dull and something like rough car body, mostly black colour. Any bro know what is it n where can I do it? Only for black color? What is the cost? Thanks in advance.
  4. Just remember to wear gloves and avoid touching the engine oil (even new ones) with your bare hands. This is because used engine oil known to be carcinogenic. New ones I don't know but best to avoid as well. Our skin can absorb the oil and we wouldn't know whats going to happen to us with prolong skin exposure to used oil. Lastly, pls dispose used oil properly......
  5. Was there yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised by its newly overhauled carpark. For those not familiar with the shopping center, its carpark is made of 2 carparks adjoined at only 2 upper levels with 2 access locations at ground floor. Carpark access is sipral with traffic on both directions, which is very narrow and harrowing for inexperience drivers. But it has just been changed completely over the week, with one carpark block designated for going up, and another for downward direction (single way traffic), and allowing traffic to access the other carpark block at every level. This translates to much wider space for cars to travel and better shopping experience. I think this is brilliant, after years of suffering. I have always been unhappy with parking there, not because of my skill but rather those of other drivers who always like to 'eat' into my lane at the turning bends as if they are driving big lorries and cannot turn wider. Now if only it is willing to implement per-minute uasge charging system!
  6. Top Print Edition Stories Published June 25, 2010 All that money, but bankers get the blues By SIOW LI SEN (SINGAPORE) Bankers, poor things, do suffer real pain despite being paid big bucks. 'We provide counselling services anonymously.' - SGX chief financial officer Seck Wai Kwong It seems they get confused over how much is enough. And even when they are able to eat the best and shop till they drop, depression can't be kept at bay, said one speaker at yesterday's annual Institute of Banking and Finance conference. The theme of the conference was leadership and talent issues. 'All the bankers I know want to retire at 40,' said Adrian Furnham, professor of psychology, University College London. But then they like it so much, they push it to 50, said Prof Furnham. He was answering a question from Piyush Gupta, DBS chief executive on money as incentive. For many, the question of how much money is needed to retire is not so straightforward. He cited friends who have retired and become clinically depressed because they have lost their focus in life and have no friends, said Prof Furnham. It's not only bankers but lawyers too who find that their children do not want to follow in their parents' footsteps as they dislike their stressful lives. Money is a great driver but it is not enough, he said. 'It's like a dinner of meringues - leaves you unsatisfied, or shopping when depressed. And it doesn't work in the long term.' At the Singapore Exchange (SGX), looking after the mental health of staff is as important as providing recreational activities, said Seck Wai Kwong, SGX chief financial officer. 'We provide counselling services anonymously,' he said. The mental health of staff needs to be looked after as the organisation has a high performance culture, he said. The SGX has provided two rooms for counselling and appointments are made anonymously; as a supervisor, he does not know who is making use of the service, said Mr Seck. He said that talent management at the SGX starts at the top. SGX chairman JY Pillay makes it a point to take the latest recruits to lunch as a way of keeping his pulse on the organisation, he said. The financial services industry continues to be highly attractive in Singapore, hiring almost 170,000 people, said Ong Chong Tee, Monetary Authority of Singapore deputy managing director. 'According to the Hudson's Employment Outlook Survey for Q2 2010, Singapore's financial sector currently has the highest hiring expectations,' said Mr Ong in a keynote address at the conference. 'Already, Singapore's financial sector employment level at almost 170,000 has exceeded pre-crisis highs and 1Q this year continued to see strong employment growth.'

  8. Hi All, just thinking,is it the fault of our education system that create so called ah bengs? previously in the 80s and 90s,teacher has the right to cane and impose punishment to students. I remember the days when there are public canings in front of the school assembly. Now the schools imposed the so called " LOVE" teaching. No more becoming scolding the students No more public caning No more standing outside the door Thus students becoming more arrogant, disregarding of discipline and law. So sad

  10. To all those CDs lover pls beware! Please do not keep any pirated or burned CDs, DVDs, or VCDs in your car. Police and Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs Ministry's enforcement division in Malaysia have started the operation to search and fine anyone who keep pirated disc inside their car especially through road block at all main road and expressways. If any pirated or burned disc found inside your car will be charged RM400 per disc. Example 30 discs found means the fine will be RM12,000. This is real. Another friend of mine from Seagate, today during lunch time, 5 CD x RM400 = RM2,000 One of the Plexus colleague brother-in-law caught by Police due to pirated CD in the car on the way to town for lunch with his friend in the afternoon. One CD fined RM400. Please disseminate this to all your friends who are driving in Malaysia .

IF YOU WANT TO VOLUNTEER, THEN PLEASE, DON'T HOPE FOR ANYTHING IN RETURN. IF YOU WANT SOMETHING IN RETURN, YOU DON'T CALL THAT VOLUNTEER WORK, YOU CALL THAT A JOB. 13. One day, the young lion asked his mom: "Mom, where is the happiness?" Mom replied: "It's on your tail." So the young lion keeps on chasing his tail. But after a whole day of trying, he failed to get the happiness that was on his tail. Then he told his mom about this, his mom smiled and said: "Son, you don't really need to chase after your happiness, as long as you keep going and moving forward, your happiness will always be with you." Wish everyone of you find your happiness. You can't decide the length of life, but you can control how you want to live it. You can't control the weather, but you can control your mood. You can't change your look, but you can smile. You can't control others, but you can control yourself. You can't foresee tomorrow, but you can utilize today wisely. You can't win everything, but you can try your very best to achieve that. Hope everyone can face the daily life positively and always happy...

We live in stressful society in which we are often trying to show off that we are better than the next guy, or blaming someone else for our troubles, we get upset over the smallest of things which just makes our lives more screwed up than it actually is. Prices rose by 4.1 per cent in the second quarter of 2010 compared with the previous quarter. This makes it the fifth straight quarter of increase. The HDB resale market continues to attract keen interest. Analysts said the demand is driven by those who don't qualify for a new flat or want a flat quickly. Chris Koh, director, Dennis Wee Group, said: "Private property prices are very high today and because it's so high there are a lot of people who are now turning to the HDB market.

  22. LTA/TP should strictly enforce this rule! ITs extremely dangerous for cyclists to ride on the road w/o any lights. Sometimes, they are not really visible till you get really close to them. Esp. when visibility is poor (dark areas or raining). Then some of them even ride against traffic. Today at Ubi almost kana one Auntie rider. Riding against traffic. No lights, raining so can't see very well. Lucikly I was going slowly and managed to avoid her. Peasant's life is worth alot ok! Don't throw it away like that. Even if want to die, must bring elites (more the merrier) with you also.

If bad mood.... WEll too bad for them. As for those Porsche/Ferrari/Lambo etc..... Nope. Never ever..... They can only cut in behind me but not in front. Too bad for them.
