Am glad that today is the last day for those 20yrs old COE car which is end of life expiry Aug 2011, wonder anyone last min still go and renew at today's PQP? Those starlet, corolla, corona, presea, sunny, civic, NX coupe, Nissan 200SX, mx5, Merc W124 etc. Glad they are gone from Singapore roads, a good 20yrs presence.

first time drove to NEX today to take a look...another typical shopping mall, next time wont purposely go there unless got pass by or something like that. IMM still better in my opinion and nearer. the roads are pretty peaceful this late morning with the occasionally congestion spots caused by different groups of cyclists, be it in group or solo. but today is really a lot of people cycling, especially the angmohs. I thought the local cyclists are more disciplined on the road except those ang moh style wannabe. so today is a lot of ang moh ones and the wannabes, they did not cycle in a single file, went against traffic, cross lanes, and never gave hand signal, its like macham the roads are built for them and other motor vehicles belongs to the footpath. however i generally still do not have problem with them cos I am able to navigate safely pass them or avoid them. but got this one ang moh cycling up the viaduct towards thomson viaduct. one would have expected him to keep left and go all the way to braddell direction, but he took the 2nd slowest lane and took the down ramp to marymount direction, which is weird, why dun he just take the slip road to thomson before that. as first lane there got van and I on the next lane, I went pass him, leaving about 60cm gap, and then after I had past him a distance then I filtered left up the ramp to braddell direction. But then I saw in my rear view mirror he raised one of his hands and gesticulated. Which leave me to wonder if I had done anything wrong or I should not be sharing lanes with him. Whether he should be cycling there is besides the point. I had noted his presence, though I was not quite sure where he was heading, kept a distance from him (unless 60cm is not safe still) and filter way after I had passed him. Perhaps I should have gently tapped my horn to warn him? I seriously do not know if that would infuriate him as well. Sometimes just feel that give these kind of people an inch, they would want the whole road to themselves. Sorry referring to this ang moh, not targetting the rest of the cyclists. Perhaps I was wrong somewhere and I did not realise it. Some kind souls can point out to me.

Hi guys, if u r in e Rush/Terios forum, kindly help post this msg there cos I wanna clarify with whoever I encounter today. I was driving along Thomson Rd just now and came to a stop @ traffic junction between Balestier Rd n Thomson Rd, in front of Thomson Medical Center. I was on e 2nd lane from e left, waiting for e traffic light to turn green. A white Rush/Terios with loud music on was on e 3rd lane just beside my car on e right. From what I see, there are 5 lanes @ e junction and which 2 lanes on e right is turning right lane, or can say 1 can turn or straight. And if u drive straight, there r 4 lanes for e cars to move into, so technically, if I'm on e 2nd lane, I should be driving into 2nd lane afterwards when light go green, right? Furthermore, extreme left lane has bus lane markings on e floor and when I drive straight, I'm still following e bus lane markings. I just don't understand why e Rush/Terios driver horn n flashes @ me... After that, I wanted to turn left up to PIE, so I signal left. I check all mirrors on e left n no sign of any car or bus, so I filter left into lane 1 on e left. Suddenly, this Rush/Terios driver horn n flashes @ me from e back again. Then I realise he's behind my car which his car wasn't there in e first place. I'm sorry if my driving was slow and hinder ya speeding to somewhere. Also, apologise as I'm driving a slow vehicle... Btw, I'm driving e SX4 just now...

i was at Toast Box in Viviocity, having coffee break, and I was ordering my items. Suddenly I noticed that all the staff serving are all Filipinos; from the cashier to the people making the food items (nasi lemak, laksa, etc) to the guys clearing the tables. All foreigners. My question is WHY? Are all our locals aleady being employed? No one to be employed? How about the marine parade resident? Is our garment blind to this? Do we need to do something today to make a change?

For those who still read the print national newspaper forum, especially those who also read the online version, notice anything different today? The print edition have got 8 articles whereas the online version 14 articles for today. http://www.straitstimes.com/ST+Forum/ST+Forum.html And of the 8 print ones, 6 are on the GE & apparently all pro-party with travel-a-lot-compare-we-should-be-grateful, start-with-nothing-those-days-thanks-to-ruling-party-today-successful & too-valuable-to-lose-minister-in-an-election type of motherhood statements. For the online version, 12 are on the GE & 11 are pro-ruling party articles with similar content as the print edition one. Is it due to the newspaper report yesterday that the ground was not sweet? Or is it due to our PM having to apologize 3 times in as single rally speech yesterday? Whatever it is, I feel that today's edition of the forum is not objective & if I may say so, rather biased. Your views?
