  2. BBC has released a trailer for Top Gear's upcoming 27th season. This season features new hosts, Paddy McGuinness and Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff. They will be presenting the show beside Chris Harris. For those who don't know who Paddy McGuinness is, he is an comedian in Britain and is known for hosting TV shows like Take Me Out, while Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff is a former England cricket captain and current broadcaster. Due to the high amount of time and commitment needed, former host Matt LeBlanc decided to leave the show while Rory Reid stepped down from his post to front the spin-off Extra Gear. No official date has been given for the series's premiere but BBC promises the show to hit our screens “sooner than you think”.
  3. Dear all, in case u donno, top gear is back! Top Gear! Enjoy! SLS is featured.
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcWtAa5gGAoWe all know that there could be more interesting things out there to watch instead of Top Gear’s Captain Slow do his job, but regardless, he’s still entertaining, thanks to the very talented production team behind Top Gear UK. But due to the recent shakeup from Jeremy Clarkson’s “fracas,” both Richard Hammond and James May were too on leave. But May decided to keep himself active by performing his very own road test on the new Ferrari 488 GTB. And of course, he did it without the substantial backing of the BBC and team Top Gear. Check it out after the jump.
  5. The Show's presenter Kim Jin Pyo was racing in a Corvette ZR1 against an AH-Cobra helicopter. The pilot survived.

  7. As you all probably know by now, Top Gear isn't the most reliable source of information on 'Green' cars because of their inherent hatred towards them making them more prone to giving biased reviews. However, whoever said Top Gear was about pure facts? Its hilarious! Obviously, Clarkson and May were using EVs for a rather incredibly stupid but entertaining challenge; they were going for a cross country 'trek' which i assume is what these EVs were 'made for' if you catch my drift. Clarkson was in the Nissan Leaf which as you know if you have been reading this blog, it won the 2011 World Car of the Year. I actually wonder how it did that since 2011 isn't even over yet. Anyway, James May was driving a Peugeot iOn which is basically just a Mitsubishi i-MiEV till his ran out of juice as well. How coincidental. I wouldn't be surprised if it was staged but who really cares? Its all for entertainment sake anyway. I know there are lots of people who despise Top Gear's style of info-tainment but I'd say just let the boys have some fun eh?
  8. Electric 'supercar' maker Tesla which just recently pulled out from Singapore is now in a legal battle with the mega motoring show Top Gear from the UK. Apparently, they are battling it out in court due to Top Gear's depiction of the car. This is not the first time Top Gear is facing the flak from one of the companies which provide them cars to trash around, and neither will this be the last, but I do love Top Gear for their insanity sometimes.. No wait, ALL the time. According to Tesla, Top Gear's review had “contained lies and misinformation about the Roadster’s performance, behaviour and reliability.” It boils down to 5 areas: 1. “The Roadster ran out of charge and had to be pushed into the Top Gear hangar by four men.” 2. “The Roadster’s true range is only 55 miles per charge (not 211).” 3. “One Roadster’s motor overheated and was completely immobilized as a result.” 4. “The other Roadster’s brakes were broken, rendering the car undriveable.” 5. “That neither of the two Roadsters provided to Top Gear was available for test driving due to these problems.” Honestly, I couldn't care less about what Tesla wants to do with Top Gear because they are totally missing the point of the show, that it is in fact just 'a show'. And with Top Gears track record of being harsh on many cars these days including the infamous Perodua episode, it shouldn't be a surprise to them that Clarkson would spew out some form of criticism that may have been exaggerated but cannot be considered as a 'fact' in the true sense of the word. Well what do you think?
  9. [extract] BBC China is to make its own version of Top Gear, the BBC's hugely successful car show. According to UK newspaper the Daily Telegraph, the programme
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO5j3epzeZs I simply could not ignore this advert when I saw it and I think all Top Gear fans should take a look at this one too. It mimics a Top Gear show just that they've swapped the name to become "Top Deer".. And I think Hyundai were poking fun at the BBC over their description of the new Tuscon as "Your slightly embarrassing Korean uncle. You know him - he's the one who's not quite as good at anything as most of your other relatives ... ". And i think this advertisement is really hilarious if you watch top gear on a regular basis with the Hamster as Hammond and Captain Slow (James May) as the tortoise. So what are you waiting for, get some Top Deer!
