  1. When Spore H1N1 Flu Outbreak: 969 total cases. They say WHO: Spread of swine flu is 'unstoppable'... Probably one reason here... why it is speading so fast... In Japan , Taiwan and HK...when people have flu....they are social responsiblle to put on a mask to prevent spreading...(they're very automatic) Over here.... people are not educated to put on mask when they have flu... as and when like to cough and sneeze in the air..... like public places and mrt.... why spreading so far here......what's your view? or our garment not working hard enough? btw..japan... at a start also the number shoot up fast (rate of increase at start)...but seems had contain the situation...
  2. Hi, From what I heard, the parking at Parkway Parade for weekdays is $1 for 1st hr and $0.40 for subsequent 1/2 hr and $1.50 per entry after 6pm. Anyone know how much will the parking fee be if one enter Parkway Parade say at 5pm till 9pm. Will it be $2.50 ($1 + $1.50 per entry) or $3.40 ($1 + $2.40 -> $0.40 x 6 half hrs)?

  4. guys, does it work this way? i think probably not, but can try anyway, goes like this: supposing a car list price (for round figure sake) lets say 80k (assuming these items are non standard, so squeeze the SE for these, and ask about each item cost) solar film (est. $500) sport rim, leather seat, reverse sensor, window visor, wing mirror signal lights (est. all in all 2k) ----------------so total all in all freebies "worth" 2.5k ok, so after the SE says ok, 80k price, with all the above listed items, tell the SE, scrap all these optional rubbish item, i want the stock base model car, at 77,500 (minus the cost of the free rubbish, since they were free to begin with) i understand these freebies which you bargain for, come from the SE commission, so how about using that commission to discount the car price instead?

  7. 5 new ERP gantries built outside city area By Christopher Tan, Senior Correspondent MOTORISTS can expect to pay more to use the roads over the next few months when five new ERP gantries - mostly in the heart of residential areas - are up and running. The gantries are in Upper Bukit Timah Road (outside Hume Park), Toa Payoh Lorong 6, Upper Boon Keng Road, Kallang Bahru Road and Geylang Bahru Road. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said these gantries will be switched on when traffic flow falls below 'optimal speeds' - defined as 45kmh to 65kmh for expressways and 20kmh to 30kmh for non-expressways. Sources expect the ranges to be raised this year, which means Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) could be implemented on more roads - even in the evening. Some residents are already voicing concern over why the new gantries are in their neighbourhoods. The LTA spokesman said the new gantry plugs a gap in an outer ERP cordon that seals off non-expressway routes into the city. He said if gantries were at exit points of Toa Payoh, more residents in the estate would be affected. But the spokesman added that 'the new gantries are built because traffic conditions on these identified roads may soon deteriorate below the optimal speed range'. 8. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I understand that a bored throttle body will improve low-end torque (and therefore increase FC) whilst changing your final drive ratio will improve your high-end torque (and therefore decrease FC). If I were to do these two mods together, what's the final effect? Will I have both improved low- and high-end torque? Or will these be cancelled out? Also, what will happen to my FC? An overall increase, decrease or no change? Thanks!
  9. I think ppl that bully p-plates needs to be Yesterday, i stopped at the leng kee junction at 9pm, along side is a black civic in the leftmost lane. When the light turn green, that horrible black civic cut my path at the junction and overtake me! So horrible, I am slow but.. i am not blocking his way. Why does he want to cut my path at the junction, so dangerous. He could do it later after the junction. There wasnt alot of traffic, and furthermore he is travelling straight.
  10. Hi guys, I'm posting to enquiry on behalf of a friend who has committed a traffic offence. This is the situation. On a 4 lane road, with the rightmost lane being the lane that turns to the right, while the remaining 3 lanes are heading straight. While the traffic lights are red, and only the right turn arrow is green, my friend turned from the second lane from the right which is a straight lane. As there is a red light camera there. Very likely the car is captured on camera. Now, beating the red light constitutes a 12 point + $200. My question is how about turning right on a lane that is supposed to be heading straight, how many points will that be? I checked the TP site, and I think the nearest offence that I can find is "forming incorrectly when turning left or right". Is this the right one? Is there any chance of appeal in such situation?
  11. Hi, I am searching for my first ride and the Tuscani had caught my attention recently. Parents want me to get a normal sedan like the Vios or Sunny. However I felt that I want my ride to be something that I would enjoy driving it out of the parking lot. I am trying to work out the finance to see if I could affort the Tuscani. Hopefully members of this forum could help me out a bit. I am 28 this year, new driver, draws $50+k pa, and no commitment yet. I was quoted $2600 for insurance, and road tax should be $1550. Parking would be $90 at home and $50 at work. I understand that the FC is about 8km/l but I never pump petrol before so not really sure what would be the average cost per month. My work place is actually very near my home (around 5 km), and friends are calling me crazy for buying any car at all (but this is a seperate topic). Most likely would only be fully utilizing it during weekends. So petrol cost maybe $150? Saw the price for Tuscani 2.0l going for $70,888. Not sure how much I should down pay and take how many years of loan in order to be comfortable. Did I missed out any hidden cost? ERP should be negligible. And BTW, how much you guys spend on average in waxing and polishing your ride? How reliable are Hyundai parts? How much should I put aside for servicing every year? If properly taken care, would the Tuscani actually last for 10 years? Do I have to spend like $1500 per month to own a Tuscani? Thanks!
  12. This oil has been endorsed by Peugeot. Has anyone have any experience / pricing info with this? Thanks!
