  8. hi, Just wanna know that is those taiwan sport rim can use for track racing? will the sport rim damage or spoil when we play it too hard?
  9. Read about the proposed race track coming up in Tuas (in today's BT front page).....think it is about time too! Will not be F1 standard (must be politically friendly to neighbour mah) but will be FIA approved for other races (touring car etc). It will be a longer track than PG! Plans include family entertainment center (ie makan places & shopping)....hope it is a commercial success ...or else, it will close down and become another white elephant! Looks like Stamford Tyres will be seeling more tires soon!!!
  10. Yesterday was loads of fun with the couple of us having made it there. Using (stealing) the following preview photos, here is my take on the track:- The track goes in a clockwise manner (some went counter). The first bend was an upslope right-hand, requiring some decent power to bring the car up. Slightly treacherous right now as the tip of the corner goes off into mud (somewhat like Port Dickson), so care was taken during the initial climb and drift initiation. The continuation was a downslope drift that will take you into a left hand drift, followed by a small right hand hand upslope to the area with the black barrels. Continuing after the barrels is still the right hander that will take you into a sharp downslope left hand drift (careful of the wall) The wall is up already and infront of the tree in the middle of the photo. Careful not to hit it during that left hander Then it's followed by a medium length right hander to bring you back to the main straight to the hill climb shown in the first pic. Overall, it's a good track to learn on, but it requires more run off areas without so much mud.
  11. guys, i'm sure many of you have been to PG or even Sepang for track sessions. Was wondering what the prerequisites are, do we need special equipment, special skills etc ? can we just turn up and pay and start driving ? Also what if we cannot drive fast due to no experience or no skill or car is just a normal stock family car ? Will we be bullied or seen as road hogging ? Lastly, what is the damage to the car like, will it cause a lot of damage to engine, transmission, suspension tyres brakes etc etc ? Do we have to be prepared to change these ?

  14. Track Day at Sepang (exclusive) 31/1/2004, Sat: Time: 2-5pm Fee: RM300 (only for the use of the track hor, food/drinks:- chiak ka ki, find your own accommodation etc) The organisers are mainly Airtrekers from KL, there will be WRX. EVOs, etc.... its exclusive ie dun have crazy Satrias cutting into your line, or mad Wiras hitting your side mirror as they drift..... The organisers still have a few places out of the 40 lots provided. First come first serve. So hurry sign up if you are keen. For RM100 per hour, you get to try out your machine and skill on a F1 track, it's very different from our usual PG track which i think you'll agree. How many in SGP, or in the world, have the opportunity to vrooom at a F1 track in their life??? Apparently, Sepang will close after 31/1/2004 to prepare for F1 and JGTCC etc in the following months. Cheers
