Just today, I almost hit onto another vehicle which made an illegal entry into a no entry area as there is only one-way traffic in the carpark.. It happened at Raffles City.. In fact, for the past few months, almost every once in a while I will see cars doing that.. It's especially prevalent in Raffles City.. But also prevalent at other carparks as well.. On entering the carpark (from Bras Basah Rd entrance) at B2, cars are supposed to make a right turn on the 2nd junction (1st junction is for cars exiting when they travel from B3) followed by a left turn immediately.. Some cars, choose to ignore the no entry sign and go straight in.. Is it a "lazy to go one big round to get to that free lot" attitude? Or is it a simply "bo chap" attitude? I think by taking the short cut, it puts other users' vehicle or pedestrians' lives at risk.. I understand sometimes it is difficult to get a lot and by the time you turn one round to get to that lot, it might already be taken, but I'd rather be safe den sorry.. So what are ur views guys and gals?

In addition, a fine is imposed as follows: Light Vehicle (unladen weight of 2500 kg and below): S$130.00 Heavy Vehicle (unladen weight exceeds 2500 kg): S$160.00 6 Demerit Points * Driving or riding against the flow of traffic. * Driving on a shoulder of an expressway. * Load falling off from the vehicle. * Exceeding speed limit of the road by more than 20km/h up to 30km/h. * Exceeding speed limit for vehicle by more than 20km/h up to 30km/h. * Offences committed by motorists at a pedestrian crossing 1. Failing to give way to pedestrian at pedestrian crossing. 2. Unable to stop your vehicle before reaching a pedestrian crossing. 3. Failing to allow free and uninterrupted passage to pedestrian. 4. Failing to give way to pedestrian at controlled intersection. * Careless driving. * Carrying passengers on a goods vehicle in a dangerous manner. * Carrying passengers on a motor vehicle or trailer in a dangerous manner. * Reversing unnecessarily along an expressway. In addition, a fine is imposed as follows: Light Vehicle (unladen weight of 2500 kg and below) : S$150.00 Heavy Vehicle (unladen weight exceeds 2500 kg) : S$180.00 8 Demerit Points * Exceeding speed limit for vehicle by more than 30km/h up to 40km/h. * Exceeding the speed limit of the road by more than 30km/h up to 40km/h. In addition, a fine is imposed as follows: Light Vehicle (unladen weight of 2500 kg and below): S$170.00 Heavy Vehicle (unladen weight exceeds 2500 kg): S$200.00 9 Demerit Points * Driving without due care or reasonable consideration for other road users. In addition, a fine is imposed as follows: Light Vehicle (unladen weight of 2500 kg and below): S$170.00 Heavy Vehicle (unladen weight exceeds 2500 kg): S$200.00 12 Demerit Points * Exceeding speed limit for vehicle by more than 40km/h up to 50km/h. * Exceeding the speed limit of the road by more than 40km/h up to 50km/h. These offenders will be prosecuted in court. * Failing to conform to traffic red light signals. In addition, a fine is imposed as follows: Light Vehicle (unladen weight of 2500 kg and below) : S$200.00 Heavy Vehicle (unladen weight exceeds 2500 kg) : S$230.00 * Use of mobile telephone whilst driving. Offender will be prosecuted in court, and may face a driving disqualification and forfeiture of handphone. In addition: 1st time offender- Fine not exceeding $1000.00 or jail sentence of up to 6 months or both. 2nd or subsequent conviction- Fine not exceeding $2000.00 or jail sentence of up to 12 months or both. 18 Demerit Points * Exceeding speed limit for vehicle by more than 50 km/h up to 60km/h. * Exceeding speed limit of the road by more than 50km/h up to 60km/h. Offender will be prosecuted in court. 24 Demerit Points * Exceeding speed limit for vehicle by more than 60 km/h. * Exceeding speed limit of the road by more than 60km/h. * Reckless or dangerous driving. Offender will be prosecuted in court. License suspension * Accumulated more than 24 demerit points within 2 years Disqualified from driving * Driving without valid license (no license, or driving manual cars with Class 3A license) * Driving without valid insurance coverage * Drink driving * Accumulated more than 12 demerit points during probation (P-Plate) * Caught twice driving without display P-Plate for drivers on probation.

Hi, does anyone know if anything can be done to offenders who drive against traffic in a private property? Few days back, while walking across the carpark my mum got a shocked when suddenly a car appeared from the wrong side of traffic. I reported the case to our condo MA and they said they will issue a notice to the offender. The MA also shared that there have been afew other similar reports against the same car and one of the resident has also lodged a report with TP but they will not penalise the driver because it happened within a private property. Obviously this driver will continue this reckless behaviour. Is there any way we can take action against him or is there any suggestions to overcome this issue? I also notice other cars going against traffic but so far I don't bother cos they seem to move with caution... but I guess I was cant be bothered cos it did not affect me/my family till now. Any suggestions?

In case some of you may not notice, some observations recently : 1. Traffic Red Light Camera now doubles as a Speed Camera mostly 50-60 km/h limit. So when driving through these junctions please observe the speed limit even its Green. 2. At some junctions, Pedestrian 'GO' Green Light seem to be On earlier (by a few sec) than the corresponding Vehicle Green Light. So please only proceed upon 'Green' traffic light instead of Pedestrian 'Green' light. Some of us have been conditioned to proceed with either of the Green lights on. So be careful! Any others ?

Hi everyone, I am sure almost everyone would have noticed this. When u stop at traffic lights, even though u may be the very first car, some motorbike would come in from the side and then queue in front of you and sometimes in front of the stop line even. Still worse, they go slow and u are forced to go even slower for fear of hitting them. This sort of behaviour sometimes is irritating but nothing much we can do. anyone got anything to comment?

who to complain to about traffic lights ?

Received this summon in JB for turning into a single direction road and was asked to appear in court for this offence. Have anyone encountered this before? Not sure if the offense stated is correct, don't understand Malay language. Any valuable advice? Do I really have to appear in court?

Traffic police officers Sergeant Fadli Shaifuddin Mohamed Sani and Corporal Ng Ching Heng were conducting a road block along Jurong Road in July this year, when they stopped a female driver who was suspected of drink-driving. After she failed a breathalyser test, she offered the officers $3,000 as a bribe and begged them to let her go. The two refused her offer and took the 38-year-old woman back to the Traffic Police headquarters for a second breathalyser test. Hi all, For those who fetching your family members to/from Tampines MRT station, pls be careful. I just received LTA traffic offence letter yesterday. The offence was stopping in a zebra controlled area at Tampines central. It carry a fine of $120 plus 3 desmerit points. It also require me to furnish the driver particular. As this is my first offence, not sure will I get another letter from the traffic police. Also, the letter stated that I can settle the fine by posting cheque when I return the furnish dirver particular form to LTA, but no receipt will be issue. So is it ok for me to settle my fine with them now, or they will send me another letter for the payment? Thank you

Drivers guilty of such an offence may be fined a maximum of S$1,000, imprisoned for up to six months, or both. Repeat offenders will receive a fine not exceeding S$2,000, imprisoned for up to 12 months, or both. The new rules would apply to tablet computers, not just mobile phones. However, the proposed law only applies if the driver is holding the device in at least one hand, and does not cover the use of such devices while driving, should they be mounted on the dashboard or windscreen of vehicles. Drivers Channel NewsAsia spoke to were in favour of the changes, but felt that it should be further expanded. "If you're playing with your phone regardless whether you're talking on the phone or searching for something, it's still very hazardous. Like me, I don't touch my phone while driving. I just put it aside," one driver shared. "I can just have it mounted and still type on the phone. It defeats the whole purpose of having the law in the first place," noted another. "It's just like looking at your GPS - you'll lose concentration. So I think it's best to totally not use it," concluded another driver. Other proposed changes to the bill include allowing drivers to attend a voluntary corrective training course called the Safe Driving Course. Drivers who have half or more of their maximum allowable demerit points will get to remove three demerit points should they pass the Course. Hi guys, like to consult MCF brothers and sisters who might have been in a similar situation before. Was caught for a traffic offence for failing to conform to "NO Entry sign " except for lorry at sentosa gateway. I know that i had did that because i think there are no u-turn sign at that road.....and if i proceed straight on ....i had to pay the entrance fees for entering sentosa , but recenty i went over to sentosa for some job purpose and realise that there are one over the "No Entry Sign" but the U-turn sign was partially covered by the shrubs and leaves.....any chances for me to appeal?? My Malaysia friends pulled me into their malaysia road wechat grp recently which i think is quite a good thing... everyone in the grp actually post updated road status to inform each other whenever they see any malaysia police having spot checks or any accidents in jb area... thus I am thinking to open a sg traffic wechat grp to inform ourself about any spot checks, accidents to prevent us from kana unnecessary summons, stupid fines or stupid frustrating jams... but dun know if this will work out well.... I'm sure you're speeding Me: I'm driving at 70km/h the most and I did not speed. Policemen: yes, you did! Me: I did not, show me the evidence then. Policemen: never mind, why did you over take from the left after Yio Chu Kang exit? Me: I did not. I was just keeping to my lane. Policemen: yes, you did. I saw it with my eyes. Me: I did not, you can charge me if you have evidence of it. Policemen: it's ok, I will give you a chance. I will issue you a ticket for not keeping to the left lane and why didn't you put a P plate? Me: hello, open your eyes and look at the date. Policemen: ok, I will still issue you a ticket. So this is how traffic police work? Purposely finding fault and pushing the blame? When they have nothing else to catch, they give this kind of stupid reason to fault you. Look people, this is how Traffic Police in Singapore work.
