  3. Has anyone been to a Natas Travel Fair? Worth to visit? I am planning to visit Korea in Nov/Dec with my family. This is the first time in many years that we are considering a packaged tour so we could be paying a visit to the Natas Fair this weekend. This will be our first visit to Korea and my wife only managed to get 5 days of annual leave approved. Hopefully it is enough. Any bros got good deals from the fair before? If not, we may just give it a miss.
  4. Hi guys, I want to know if there is any travel agency to book cheap air tickets to bangkok
  5. Glad that he survived in all the 'tour' [laugh]
  6. Hi bros. A bit urgent as I'm departing for Europe soon. Is there any calling card I can buy from here or in Europe itself which provides cheap voice calls and data plans? Italy. England. France. Spain. Which brand? Thanks!
  7. Hi, I am wondering would it be better to have a heading for travel under General so we could post everything about travel there. Easier for us to search and read like Road trips. Just a suggestion only.
  8. Hi.. I'm down to ACE vs NTUC Any good experiences or lousy ones to share
  9. I'm considering embarking a new job which requires me to travel frequently to Japan and Taiwan. As I may be stationed there for a long period (of course less than the permitted visitor stay) each visit from time to time, anyone has any experience in reentering the country if this is done in long term? It's hard to find any information on what is the permitted visit a year since I would assume this is case by case basis.
  10. Southern Johor is a nice place to be if you love motoring. With the rapid development of the Iskandar region comes a whole slew of projects from government offices, business centers, residential and commercial projects dot the whole landscape throughout Nusajaya (near Johor Bahru), Kulai, Senai Pasir Gudang and all the way to Pontian. Now with these developments come roads. These roads are actually fun as while development is ongoing, these roads are quite empty most of the time and are actually quite nice if one wants to just enjoy the simple pleasures of motoring. Of course most of you would need a reason to travel all the way to South Johor and if this is the case then might I suggest a pit stop or a detour
  11. Seriously something is wrong here. A disgraced, on-the-run lawyer here could practice his trade in the Land of the Free & even travel frequently overseas for work? For 6 freaking years?!! Is it that the authorities never raise to INTERPOL's attention or if done so, no one basically "hue" our little red dot? Luckily some German was alert enough to arrest this joker and justice was served. From CNA: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1191675/1/.html Court urged to 'send a strong message' with disgraced lawyer By Syed Amir Hussain, TODAY | Posted: 28 March 2012 0613 hrs

  13. My wife is traveling to USA this Friday by plane. The air ticket agent is asking her to apply for ESTA online, cost US$39. But I thought Singaporeans are already under the Visa Waiver Program. So don't really need to apply for visa, or to check for eligibility to enter USA. Anyone can advice really need to spend the US$39 to get this ESTA. If not, will there be 'trouble' when at the USA customs?
  14. im looking to buy for europe travel. have shortlisted the few below. tenet aig axa chartis which is better in terms of claim? feedbacks appreciated.
  15. I want to know how you feel to travel to a country more than one time. Many people would do so as if we had been to the country we liked, and sure there will be another time but there are also people who feel otherwise. Please note : The country is purely travel, you know no one there. I personally love Bangkok & HongKong but had been too many times there. My hubby is the type rarely want to travel to the same country twice. He would rather use the money and time to go elsewhere that he did not travel before. Anyone in here will not travel to a country more than once? Have your say...........
  16. Has anyone tried to travel from Singapore to China in their own ride, amusing that they on holiday and stop by places such as KL, Bangkok, Laos, Hai Phong, Into China.
  17. -Gedung Merdeka - Famous for hosting the Asian-African Conference 1955 One good thing about motoring in general is that it takes you places. Airplanes take to even further but once you get to a destination, the best way to cover ground and to explore the surrounding area. Of course if you aren't a lazy bloke you could walk or cycle. But that shouldn't be covered in a motoring blog. Which brings us back to Indonesia where I happened to travel from Jakarta to the city of Bandung, a few hours away. -Note the traffic on the opposite side heading towards Jakarta, the jam to the toll booth was about 6km This time we were ferried there in a chartered bus. It isn't often that a person like me travels by means of a bus. This was because I have been too spoiled by the choice of having the use of a car most of the time. But beggars can't be choosers, especially since it was an air-conditioned private coach and the fact that I didn't have to fight my way through the Jakarta traffic to head towards the highway to Bandung. And it was comfortable, as I could stretch out my legs and sleep in relative comfort. Now Bandung is a city which is actually quite famed for its shopping. It has a whole slew of factory outlet stores located throughout the city like the one above. Here one can find branded clothing on sale as well as local leather goods, Indonesian lace, batik (both are fine in their workmanship and very affordable) and other forms of clothing. I do have a tip for those who intend on buying branded handbags over here and the tip is this
  18. Hi all, Friends asking to go Europe package from M Asia Travel. I believed it's a small time travel agency who sub out land tour to the local agents. Price wise cheaper than some big names. Just want to hear if anyone personally took up their services/heard anything from them before? Thanks.
  19. Hey fellas, I will be travelling to Europe at end Nov and will be heading to Italy. Frens & colls told me that there are alot of professional pickpockets at Europe who could easily slit jeans pocket and steal $$ without you knowing it. Are those waist pouch that tucked under the clothing feasible ? Any good advise ?
  20. CNA Local tour group camps out at travel agency over dispute By Zhao Quanyin / Qiuyi Tan | Posted: 10 July 2011 2140 hrs SINGAPORE: A group of tourists were bound for Shanghai but found themselves at the travel agency. The group of ten tourists said they were expecting an agency staff to meet them at the airport, and provide information about their hotel and trip arrangements. However, no one showed up. One of the tourists, Charlotte Lee, said: "The whole team waited for him for about two hours. And then he miraculously picked up our call at around 10:10. His first response was, 'Why aren't you on the plane?' How can we get on the plane when we don't have any details at all? Like, are we going to be stranded in China? I think that was the biggest concern we had." They said they were told to board the plane at 11am and that trip details would be sent to them via SMS. But they decided not to, and came to the travel agency for answers. Police arrived at the scene shortly after noon and asked the group to move their bags away from the agency's front door. The agency then proposed an afternoon flight to Shanghai, which the group did not take up. Jonathan Tan, Manager of SA Tours, said: "We arranged for a staff to be at the airport to assist. He would not affect the trip at all, actually. Because our staff was not there to help, the group totally lost confidence in the company, and abandoned the tour by their own choice." After a five-hour wait outside the agency, the group left. The group said it is planning further action. -CNA/ac

  23. Looks quite bad...Australia is affected and I guess NZ too. Hopefully all these recent problems clear up before the year end travel season. ----- http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/W...ory_680111.html Jun 15, 2011 Chile volcano could get worse, as travel woes grow People sleep at Jorge Newbery airport where flights were cancelled due to an ash cloud that reached Buenos Aires from the Chilean Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcano grounding air travel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. -- PHOTO: AP SANTIAGO - A CHILEAN volcano spewing dangerous ash high into the sky, sowing air travel havoc from South America to Australia for the past week, could have even more intense eruptions in the days to come, government geologists warned. 'It is possible there will be a return to increased eruptive activity' of the Puyehue volcano in southern Chile's Andes mountains, which started belching June 4, Chile's National Geological and Mines Service said late Tuesday. It said it was detecting no let-up in the volcano's emissions, which were towering eight kilometers into the troposhpere. It maintained its alert level at 'moderate eruption.' That was bad news for airlines flying into or over Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, southern Brazil, and - half a world away - Australia. Passengers in those regions have had to ditch aircraft for travel by boat or overland, or cancel plans entirely. The chaos recalled the massive paralysis of air travel over Europe in 2010 when an Icelandic volcano erupted. Among the millions of passengers affected was UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, who on Tuesday had to take a slow boat from Argentina to Uruguay as he pursued a Latin America tour to secure support for his bid for another five-year term. From the Uruguayan capital Montevideo, Mr Ban was scheduled to go on to the Brazilian capital Brasilia. But a UN official speaking in New York on condition of anonymity said: 'At the moment, we have no idea how he will get there.' -- AFP

  25. Hi All, from my experience so far..... if all of u want your trip to be jam-less and good. Leave Spore at about 10pm or later on Friday or at the end of the last working day before a long weekend..... for the latter... probably leave even later... like maybe 12am or 1am... that'll will ensure 5mins to clear the custom. Then shoot up to NS Highway.... and at this kind of timing.... police all go home liao.... "bo eng" to do spot check liao... even if kena.... frankly... they really deserve it... since they work so hard... that at such wee hours..... they still have a deep passion to uphold the law.... LOL.
