Many cars now have DVRs installed, front and back. At the customs they usually have signs that say no photo or video taking. Do you guys switch off or take out the wires of your DVRs when at the customs, singapore and malaysia side? Anyone had experienced problems, please share. Thanks.

Was in my colleague's car and he 'followed' a big truck with a long tail overhang.......... we were on the left lane, the truck right lane........... slow moving traffic but when the truck turned right its tail swung out and nearly hit the right fender of our car (our car was slightly 'behind' the truck at its left rear corner)... anyone experienceds similar near-miss?? -

CPIB has confirmed it is investigating one of its own, and in a reply to the paper said, "Upon discovery of suspected financial impropriety by one of its officers, the CPIB referred the matter to the CAD for investigation". The CAD refers to the Commercial Affairs Department, which usually investigates white collar crimes. It also confirmed it is looking into the matter. The man being investigated is believed to hold the position of assistant director and he has reportedly been suspended from duty. It's the second case in recent days of an investigation involving a civil servant. Over the weekend, The Sunday Times reported that an assistant director with the Media Development Authority of Singapore is being investigated for trying to borrow money from applicants who are seeking an MDA grant. It's understood the officer, who is single and in his 30s, has also been suspended from duty.

But Mr Muhammad Amirulhayat Mahadi never got to deliver it. The 21-year-old student was killed after the Domino's Pizza motorcycle he was riding was hit by a white Mazda RX8 sports car at the intersection of Sembawang Road and Yishun Avenue 5 on Thursday night. The red motorcycle was completely wrecked, lying crushed below the car, while Mr Amirulhayat's body lay about 10m away. The storage compartment containing the pizzas was knocked loose and landed on a pedestrian walkway. Blood was splattered over the twisted front of the car and its front windscreen was cracked. The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received calls about the accident at about 9.30pm. Dead at the scene When paramedics arrived, they pronounced Mr Amirulhayat dead at the scene. About an hour later, his family and friends arrived at the scene after being informed of the tragedy. Overwhelmed with grief on seeing his younger brother's lifeless body, Mr Mahadir Mahadi, 24, kicked the debris from the accident and shouted: "Who is the driver?" Two police officers and two passers-by rushed forward to restrain him while asking him to control himself. He struggled in their grasp, demanding that he be allowed to see the Mazda driver, until his friend came forward to console him. Mr Amirulhayat was a third-year student at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, taking a diploma course in multimedia and animation. He had taken a part-time job as a delivery rider for Domino's Pizza to earn extra money. His father, Mr Mahadi Timan, 52, who went to the scene that night, told The New Paper that his son was about to make a legal U-turn in the other direction of Sembawang Road to make his delivery. An uncle, Mr Khairudin Timan, told TNP that he was in disbelief when he got to the scene at almost midnight. I don't understand, if the driver has the right of way and the rider did a illegal U-turn, why is the driver charged under RECKLESS driving? Even @ 50KM/HR with no BRAKE applied, it could be also as FATAL as this. Does that means RECKLESS driving even following the standard speed limit applied on singapore ROAD?

Folks, My E200 Kompressor driver's electric seat turn left when adjusting forward / backward, culd it be the cable' roller jammed or the motor faulty . . . Sent my car in for a quote, mechanic dismantled and say the whole motor mechanism is faulty, it comes in a package, damage is approx $1K, while a second opinion say could be the cable faulty only $100+, but he ask'd me to come back next week as he was busy with some work ( No dismantling done ). I was thinking of going back to C&C for their expert opinion. Any MCF brothers have similar issue ? Appreciate your input / feedback. Thanks a heap !

Happened last Friday. coaching tennis. then felt a strain on the biceps. Carried on with minimal stretching. Saturday was bad, cannot carry arm up, but now this..... Pain getting better, and my diagnosis personally is I could have ruptured a fibre, that also had capillary blood supply, thus the hematoma. Draining downwards to fingers and arm now like Schwarzenegger. Bomoh, Sinsehs welcome, on how to clear it faster. I know I can rub a certain cream. Any other solutions. Clinicians advise not sought, din go consult Dr......pain resolving, so cannot be ## Thanks

Just bought a 2nd hand 2006 civic 1.8, everything is perfect except, when i have the turn light on, in addtion to the normal blinking sound, a weir clicking/ticking noise is heard if turn the steering wheel, it only happens when the turn light is on. any one has any ideas? -
Dear all, if there are 2 right turn lane, please make full use of them, you will definitely have chance to change lane to left after turning, stop being so selfish by creating a single file. You deprive others of a chance to cross the fast changing traffic light...

y must these ppl block the left turn filter lane! because of u, supposedly i can turn but u blocked the lane as u have an imaginary car stopped in front of u. horn and horn u no action. in the end i waited for the traffic light for nothing! many drivers love to keep 1 car length at traffic lights.. Whtsup with u guys!

This morning traffic was slow at PIE toward Jurong at the exit to Toa Payoh. Saw this red vios making an illegal left turn at the traffic junction after Kim Keat link. I noticed that some drivers would choose to make an illegal left turn at this junction whenever there was a jam at the slip road leading to Toa Payoh Lor 6. Their move are endanger to other road users, as there are pedestrians crossing the road at that time & they may not expected cars making an left turn.

Refer to the 1st two lorries' way of turning within the 1st twenty seconds. Don't really know the exact term, but by steering slightly left before making a U-turn, the car turns better and saves you from the kerb (or some face, when you have to engage the reverse gear), especially in those tight U-turns. Almost got hit by another car that was doing the above-mentioned a few weeks back as the driver was rushing to beat a blinking arrow while i was waiting to move straight. Can't really remember my BTT/FTT stuff years back regarding U-turns. but i recall that my instructor mentioned sth about keeping to the most right lane and changing slowly, lane by lane to the left (which i thought was quite strange).. years on, I realized that theory never really came into practice as the car will understeer all the way to the outermost left lane during U-turns (or maybe it's just my driving) Is there a "correct" way to U-turn? Not the correct way but quite an exciting way to take a U-turn

yo bro, just wanna comment on this. notice this is getting so common, imagine u waiting behind the traffic red light then once the green light is up, the oncoming traffic bike just swerved into your lane to make a right turn then i will be like release brakes step accelerator step brakes again. 2nd car will be see your brakes light off, release brakes then see your brakes lights on again and your car jerked. du lan right?

hi there, my car has a clicking sound when turning at a slow speed. everything else ok. what could be the fault? it is dangerous to wait for 1-2more months for my normal servicing schedule? can any experts please advise? thanks in advance.

my friend ask me when can do a 3 point turn at 1 lane road ; oppsite also 1 lane. I know 2 white line cannot. I know zip Z white line cannot. what abt doted white line and constant white line??? I had read basic and final, how come no have any topic of this issue?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. Met this Hyundai Avante from yishun going to CTE, with his high beam on the way. It was so bad that even after flipping down my anti-glare rear mirror, his head lights are still super powerful, much more powerful then those big vehicles! really lighting the entire road up. Noticed a young guy behind the wheels after he overtook me. So most likely is forget to turn off. & I wonder, technically speaking, is this consider as road hazard or not.. haha..
