  1. Wah! Today suah suah, front passenger tyre puncture when I was trying to rush home! Then my MPV, damn leh ceah to change tyre. Have to uncrew the spare tyre stored below the boots. Just when about the jack up the car, heavy rain came! Got wet! Take cover and waited for rain to stop but luck it only lasted 10 minutes. Back to jack up the tyre and got it UP to a nice level, the car rolled back (forgot to put foot brake) so have to do a spiderman act and jumped into the driver seat and put the foot brake! By then, the jack already slanted, so have to get it down and then place nicely below and get it up again! Then finally got the spare tyre in place and kept the punctured tyre and tools. Drove off but found the wheels not balance (can't even drive at 10 kmh). So park the car again and try to figure what to do. Thought problem is that my spare tyres no sports rims so does not fit properly. However, I had drove many other cars before and never had this problem. Call my friend to come to take the punctured tyre to tyre shop but while waiting for my friend, a taxi driver offerred some advice. Take the back tyre and put in front and put the spare tyre at the back! To do that I need 2 jacks. So waited for my friend to come to get the additional jack. After this was done, drove to Stamford tyres and had the puncture fixed (FOC) and since I was there told them to do balancing and rotate ($10). I bought the tyres from them and am a member. The guy also kindly put my spare tyre back below the boots! Whe I told him the story about the the spare tyre cannot drive when it was at the front, he told me that for the sports rims, they have an additional ring so when I tried to fix the spare tyre (w/o rims), the tyre could not be fixed properly and is wobbly. Finally got home 3 hours later!
  2. any advice?? recently i went for servicing and the person told me that the front tyre is worn off. (by checking the safety point of the tyre is align with the threads) He also says that when the front change twice, the rear tyres only change once.....is it the correct assumptions???
  3. Folks, My rear tyre started hissing today and I discovered the valve stem is leaking...if you push it to one side... The valve itself is replaceable without having to change the entire tyre, am I right? Never encountered this before!
  4. I wanna paint the FALKEN words on the tyre side as white. Where can i get the correct paint/marker/ink for it? Guess they shld be water proof & able to stay on the rubber surface rite? So anyone got idea where i can find & purchase them?
  5. As above, thinking of trying the new MXV8! Thanks
  6. Hi this the first time i'm posting in mycarforum, appreciate if anyone can help me with my question. If my current tyre size is 175/70R14, the correct size I should upgrade to is 195/60R15 or 195/55R15?
  7. Anyone use the top of the range Kumho tyre before? Do anyone know the price or Leong Seng selling it?
  8. I am having Falken 195/15R50 tyres, anyone knows what is the correct tyre pressure to pump? Thanks
  9. Hi people..... any comments about the above mentioned shop?? well i personally find the people there fantastic.
  10. I saw this last week. This Impreza Wagon suffered a flat, and the they had to change it. I was rather surprised, as the spare looks really small. Looks like a 155 or 165 width? I am asking because my spare is a 185/60R14 while the rest of my tyres are 205/45R16s. And my spare has a sports rim from my last set of wheels. I thought if I suffered a flat/puncture, at least the spare can last me quite a distance, and looks more like my other wheels/rim combo What size is your spare?
  11. I took out the unused spare tyre from my Daewoo Racer II b4 sending to scrap. I intend to use it as spare tyre for new G9 LX New G9 will have 195/55R15 tyres. The tyre is Kumho PowerMax II 768 185/60-14 The steel rim has these stamped on it - 15 1/2J x 14 - ET49 Can it fit the G9?
  12. Have any one try the can of the emergency repair kit sold in most petrol kiosk? Was thinking of removing the spare tyres and use this for Singapore; (of course need spare tyre for trip up north!). What do you think? Am I nut to do so? Thankszzzzz
  13. What will be an indicator of time to change tyre ? Below is what I can thing of ... but need expert advise: - Age (2 yrs) - Distance covered (30,000km - 40,000km) - Irregular wear - Thread depth is shallow (how to measure ???)
  14. I need help regarding the tyre pressure for 195/50R - 15! What's the correct pressure for these type of tyre? Is the front and the back tyre having same pressure. Now my front are 250kpa and back 210kpa. Is this correct?
  15. People, a friend of mine have found a lobang for Toyo tyres. For Skoda size of 195,65,15 Toyo Vimode is only S$100 each!!!! That's a very nice price for this tyre. The performance of this tyre is close to the Potanza SO-3. It is a shop that bought Toyo tyres in huge volume, thus the lower price. Write me a pvt msg if you wish to get these tyres.

    Spare Tyre

Finally, remove the sparetyre from the boot, now is only 4WD.
  17. Hi, Stock 185/65 R14 tyres according to manual about 32-33psi. Any idea what's the correct pressure if I did an upgrade to: 195/55 R15 tyres 205/45 R17 tyres Thanks. Btw, are websites on this?
  18. Getting Galant in two weeks. Would come with 16" rims (racing hart or eurohart or some nonsense Cycle&Carriage has tied up) and tyres. 205 or 215 width. 45 or 50 side wall. 16". Plan to upgrade to 17" OZ and Bridgestone outside. Trade in and top up $$$. Cannot ask Cycle&Carriage to do this as they'll charge arm&leg. SR confirmed this. So my question is, what 16" rims do I want as stock, so that I can get the maximum trade in value when I upgrade? Similarly for tyres but I don't think Cycle&Carriage will let me specify. They use Yokohama, and the showroom Galant has Aspect db on.
  19. Got quoted ST115 (215x40x18) x 4 total: $1270. Any comments?
  20. Hi, I just checked my tyre pressure using a gauge. The reading shows that the 4 tyres' air pressure has gone up an average of 4 Psi within 1 month. Checked when the tyres are cold. I always thought tyre pressure will go down, never go up because of leakage. But it seems that the air pressure probably did a reverse leakage in the tyre to make it more inflated? What is the reason for this "more air" in tyre?
  21. Guys, how often do you rotate your tyres? Most say 10,000km once. I was thinking of doing it DIY, but isnt it impossible unless I have 2 jacks or 2 wheel stands? Anyone DIY rotation has any tips to share?
  22. Anyone tried servicing at Stamford? Lok Yang or Macpherson? I saw them offering service packages much like the general crowd (i.e. Autobacs, Shell Pro-serve) but how's their customer service and tech skills?
